On Wednesday, March 2, at around 6am, my computer screen suddenly went black with a dialogue printed on my the front of my computer that my computer had a virus or had been hacked and I should call * *** *** *** immediately to get help to protect my information and to restore my computerI tried to shut off my computer and restart and it would not allow me to do anything I ended up calling the phone number and was on the phone for over hours trying to fix the issue They told me that I had to pay $to just get the virus off and then another $to restore my computer I did so, and ended up authorizing a charge of $to my credit card for a program, Virus Eraser, to protect me from further threatsTech support guy said my current virus protection (***) was not capable of protecting me from these virusesI asked how they knew my computer was being hacked into and he said they had been notified by ***I later checked the Virus Eraser website and learned that I
My computer violently started having pop ups, talking to me in a woman's voice stating that I have a harmful and malicious virus that could wipe it my computer if I don't call a specific number from MicrosoftI called a foreigner answered and tried to get me to give them moneyWell I'm out of and they remoted into my computer stated they fixed the problem and added virus eraser program and if I had any problems before six months to contact them
Ajeet spent a good deal of time assisting me with my audio issues He patiently walked me through the process of downloading music and answered my questions this was a very positive and helpful experience
On July 22, I had a pwindow come up on my personal computer ("PC") stating that I had a virus and all of my passwords and personal info were being stolen It told me to call the phone number listed or my entire system would be shut down to prevent further damage I called the number and they led me to believe I was calling *** They scammed me into believing that I needed to purchase their antivirus software immediately Against my better judgement, I allowed them to access my PC remotely They told me it would be $for a year subscription I scanned them a copy of a check which was not supposed to be cashed until I mailed it in They put software on my computer After speaking with my family right afterwords, I was made aware that this was a scam I immediately called the company back and advised them I had changed my mind and did not was the subscription I spoke with a gentlemen named Ashish who told me that I could in fact cancel and my check wou
My boyfriend was on my computer when a buzzer went off saying that the computer was unsafe and to call this number right away Because the web site was not in my opinion a good website to be on I became scared so I called the number I was told that the computer was infected & had several attacks at being hacked into therefore I should let Virus Eraser drive my computer, load their software & repair & protect my computer I did that, to the tune of $on May 12th I was mad at my boyfriend & told him he had to pay me for this In thinking back on this it seems that Virus Eraser was the hacker because this information popped up on my screen, unsolicited, and at a time when I was quite vulnerable & having an argument with my boyfriend on this subject, and that they took advantage of this They said he broke the firewall on my computer & it had to be restored They hacked into my computer
Then, on December 5th of 2016, Virus Eraser called me &
On 2/25/my computer way scamed and a phone # was posted on the screen to call which I did and Virus Eraser fixed the problem and gave me a three year contract that there would be no more problems4/21/my computer was scamed agaim called the # on the screen and ** *** fixed problem and at that time I called my credit card and talked to the fraud dedt and stopped payment on virus eraser as they had not given me any serviceOn June 8,*** *** sent me a letter stating that they were going to charge me the full payment of $because I had not followed Virus Eraser's policy of cancellationI did cancell on June 12, and have asked for the ballance to be sent to meI was told, after several phone calls that I have in my email files[which I cannot locate nor can they send] that states that I must first send them a check for $upon which time after recieving the check they will then send me a check for the full amount in to bussiness days,[August 2, 2016]
Yesterday I had a pop up screen called "Blue Screen of Death," come up on my macbook while I was working on my computerI was trying to download a template when it happenedI clicked to download and that is when the screen came up saying not to do anything but call the number, in the meanwhile there was a very loud alert sound coming through my speakersI tried clicking on another tab to open and that one seemed to have the same problem tooSo I went ahead and called the numberAsking if they were legit about 10-times throughout the whole call and they assured me that they were part of Apples servicesSo I bought into it and ended up letting them take over my computer and do whatever they said they were fixing for over an hourThey told me my ip address had been compromised /breachedThey for one couldn't speak very good English which I should have at that time realized this probably isn't realI asked them where their company was from and they said, "Florida" I have no ide
