Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center Reviews (159)

A shady company, trying to trick you into paying a lot more money to renew your fictitious name by sending it before you recieve a real notice It even states a california law and such to make it seem legitmate and scare you into paying them before you get the real notice The cost is times the real costThis is bordering on scam terrioritory, in my book it is a scam because it tries to make it seem like the process to renewalThe only thing that keeps them in business and not closed down as a straight up scam is a small disclaimer at the bottom that says they are not endorsed by any government agency But I'm sure they trick a lot of unsuspecting small businesses I, myself, was filling out the form and about to pay when I had a weird feeling and read it more carefully and did research to figure out that it's a shady business What a waste of time

We received a notice that we needed to renew our fictitious business name and to return it by 8/31/ We sent them a check for $to cover the fee and their charges The check was mailed out and deposited in August It is now October and they haven't done anything We have tried numerous times to talk to someone and we can't ever get an answer on the phone
We decided to just take care of this ourselves We have paid and filed our own paperwork

This company makes their mailer look almost exactly like a true fictitious business name renewal form Beware!! It's a scam and if you visit your county' s website, hopefully they will display a notice warning you about this scam They charge three to four times more than the county renewal fee Don't fall for these mailers! Always visit the actual company or government agency's website before you send your hard-earned money anywhere!

I received a very misleading letter from this company back in October about renewing my Fictitious Name for my companyThis looked like an official notice so I went ahead and sent them a $check on October 4th, A few months later I received the real notice from the San Bernardino Clerk office a month later and the amount was only $to renew itI called the San Bernardino Clerks office and they said that this other company that I paid should be submitting the filing on my behalf and sometimes they do it a few months laterSo now( December 2018) I get another letter from the San Bernardino clerk office saying that they still haven't received my filingIt's been almost months since I paid this phony company and they still haven't filed my renewal that was due January I would like to receive a refund ASAP from this company as I have to go in to the County to pay for this renewal now as is due

I received a renewal form and was asked to pay $to FBNRC to renew my fictious business name by August I paid this money and found out today that this did not renew my fictitious business name and in fact it does not need to be renewed until Dec and the amount to pay is only $ This company lied to me and posed as San Diego county recorder They did not say they were a third party and not with San Diego county This was extremely misleadingToday, I received a renewal form from San Diego county to actually renew my fictitious business name and the fee is $
I would like to refund of my $so I can actually renew and pay the right recorder
Very misleading of FBNRC!
I have called and called them but their number continues to go unanswered

Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center has been conducting a scurrilous business for some years, sending deceptive warnings to potential customers with fictitious business names to renew with them for exorbitant fees, all prior to the customer being properly notified by their state governmentWhereas the state charges $for this service, FBNRC charges $The company fails to include the required notice: "THIS IS A SOLICITATION FOR THE ORDER OF GOODS OR SERVICES, OR BOTH, AND NOT A BILL, INVOICE, OR STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT DUEYOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO MAKE ANY PAYMENTS ON ACCOUNT OF THIS OFFER UNLESS YOU ACCEPT THIS OFFER" as stated by U.SLawIn addition, the form they sent out to me included a facsimile of the letter head of the Ventura County Clerk and Recorder, implying that they are an official arm of a government agencyCurrently there are complaints about these devious practices on the site of the Revdex.com, with this company receiving an "F" rating

Got letters from this business They send one before the county sends the official "NOTICE OF EXPIRATION OF FICTITIOUS BUSINESS NAME STATEMENT" This is a misleading business model that falls in the range of semi-legal operation They intentionally send the letters to look like official government letters They charge $to send a check of $ I assume their business model is to send a huge number of letters to unsuspecting business owners and waiting for some to take the baitThey only need one in to fall for it, and their are making a profit I do not need to pay somebody $to file a one page form and send a checkThat is a very expensive service
They should clearly itemize that the actual fee is $40, and their service cost is $
Till somebody, or the government is not taking them to court, they will continue
It is also the fault of our government for facilitating a shoddy business like thisThe Santa Clara County has a very poorly written letter, that is not clear how much you need to pay, and where to send the formThey do not include a form or a return envelope with the notice The notice points you to a website where you need to search for the form, but then you cannot file online This is not what you would expect from a government office in 2017!
Also, how is it possible for them to have the records of thousands of businesses? I strongly suspect they acquired this information illegally

This company ripped me off tooI'm from San Diego and found out that their real company name is: Compliance Filings Incwhich you see on your credit card statement after they charge $for a $renewal for your fictitious business name and they state that the fee must be paid straight away to avoid losing your business nameThe form looks like a property tax formNo where on the bill does it say it is a private company and leads the consumer to believe it is a state documentA really poor example of human beings

Received a letter that looks very officialThey have copied the format from the official government lettersThey use bold letters to scare you to make the payment quickly so that you do not lose your business nameThe first thing that raised a red flag for me was the fact that I normally only pay 20$ to renew my business name, they were asking dollarsThe second thing that caught my attention is that I filed within my county and was wondering why they were located in another county across the stateI'm very very upset how misleading the letter was, I am sure so many people fall for this scamI almost did!

I received a renewal form and was asked to pay $to FBNRC to renew my fictitious business name by August I paid this money and found out today that this did not renew my fictitious business name and in fact it does not need to be renewed until Dec and the amount to pay is only $This company lied to me and posed as San Diego county recorderThey did not say they were a third party and not with San Diego countyThis was extremely misleadingToday, I received a renewal form from San Diego county to actually renew my fictitious business name and the fee is $

I received A letter from them on my fbn for my business and in their letter they made it appear as though they were with the county of orange and never stated on the form that they are A private company doing this serviceThey charged me 500% of the actual cost to file the documentI would hope the state on California would regulate companies that are like this one to make sure that they are up front and honest about what they are doing and that excessive fees such as there's are made illegal to doThey took me for $when the fee for me to file is just $That to me should be considered A criminal actI also filled the paperwork with them in October and it still has not been filled

I received a letter in April requesting $to renew my Fictitious Business NameIt was made to appear like it was from my county so I sent $to the FBN Renewal Center A few months passed and I thought my Fictitious Business Name was renewedHowever, in June they sent me the official form that I was to sign and have them mailThey wanted me to mail the form to a different address than what was listed on the document, and that seemed suspicious to me, so I researched the agency and realized they were not the county agencyI called the FBN Renewal Center and they said I would receive a FULL refund if I returned the form they sent me to them (not signed, with the words REFUND written in big letters on top of it)I mailed them the form in June and called them in JulyThey had not yet received itI called them back in August and they said they had it and would send the check out within a weekTo their credit, they sent out a refund and I got it in about a weekHowever, the ch

Received a notice via US Mail from Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center regarding my fictitious name license billing for $ My suspicion was aroused because of the following: the file date and my deceased business partner's name In I refilled my fictitious name due to the death of my partner I reviewed those documents and learned that my renewal date if not until I did a google search and discovered *** *** article denouncing them as frauds

This company has sent over ten mailings to my wife's newly formed S-corporation These forms intentionally mimic official government documents and are worded such that they can be interpreted as bills These are merely veiled solicitations for corporate services, in the latest case for filing of corporate minutes at a price of $

I have been trying to get hold of FBNRC for daysI've tried calling all numbers on the paperwork I have and they all go to voice mailUnfortunately, I am in and out of the office so leaving a voicemail is not something I can doAnyway, I received a letter from them in early August stating that my FBN was due to expireI sent them a check for $on August 8, and the completed authorizationUpon further investigation I realized that this FBN did not require renewal as I went to an LLC last year and the FBN is now held under the LLC and will not expire for another yearsI was trying to contact them so I could get a refund since I am not in need of their servicesSince they have not answered their phone I decided to try thisThey seem to be very responsive to the Revdex.comI have no issue with their solicitation (it's on me that I didn't realize they were not a government agency) as their letter and authorization clearly states that they are NOTThe only issue I have

This company sends out an official looking document stating codes and demanding that I mail them a $check with a deadline noticeNot only is this a threatening looking letter but to the average business owner this may seem like they will be fined or worseThey mail this to me at least once a month and now I pretty much feel harassedPlease look into the practices of this company or individual
Thank you

If you've never renewed your fictitious business license you could easily fall for thisthey charged me $which is almost three times the amount of $this took four months and I feel they didn't fulfill their obligationsI feel this is a business that causes more problems than it does good

I have a business that goes by the name Organic and natural options pharmaceuticals and I received a renewal notice from this company stating that I needed a renewal for my fictitious business name
I assumed this renewal notice came from the county recorder so I paid the
$they requested
However I then received another notice for renewal this time from the county recorder and when I called the County recorder, they explained that the first notice was not from them, but from a third party company and that I could renew directly through the county recorder for $only
I then called the third party company (fictitious business party renewal center) at*** to complain about misleading practices at 3.00pm On Friday 3/16/I also requested for a refund of my $150.00, the customer service representative I spoke to proceeded to say a refund would be issued to me next Friday because the deadline for processing this week had passedAlso she informed me, I would

I received a mailing from Fictitious Business Center Renewal Center with a cover letter stating "TIME SENSITIVE - PLEASE SIGN ADN RETURN THE ENCLOSED DOCUMENTS PROMPTLY IF THESE DOCUMENTS ARE NOT RECEIVED YOUR FICTITIOUS BUSINESS RENEWAL WILL NOT BE COMPLETED The mailer also contained a partially completed form with my name, fictitious business name, address, filing date, etcand instructed me to complete and mail $to them for processing I did as asked including sending a check for $ Several months later, I received a set of forms from them to be completed (the actual forms for the fictitious business name from the county), instructing me to complete them and mail them to the Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center, with $made out to them I had the form notarized and was preparing to send it back, but questioned why it was going to Sacramento, not San Mateo County I called the County Assessors office and they informed me that this is a private company that has
