Horrible customer service This company does not stand by their customers I called to complain about a contractor and they told me they stand by their contractors and not customers So I called the plumbing company they sent over to explain the situation and they were very helpful and apologized for First America Home Warranty I don't know who they hire to helpBut I think they are just reading from a card I even asked to speak to a manager and the representative, Victor, told me no

So far, not impressed Discovered a leak dripping rapidly from the ceiling, in a story home where we have no access to the pipes in the walls or between the floors In order to stop the leak and keep the ceiling from collapsing onto the kitchen floor, we had to turn off the water main line to the house We have been without water to the house (since Saturday) days now Tried to file claim online the next morning, but couldn't get it to acceptCalled Monday and placed the claim Heard from their plumbing contractor a day later, who said he could come out in days What?? Don't they get it....our water main if OFF...we can't wait daysThere is currently no water to the houseI called back First American, they tried to find another contractor, no luck They said they were escalating it to Contractor Relations and would call me back by the next morningAfter waiting two days, I called back, to learn that they could not find anyone to service us and would authorize us to get our own contractor, and have approved $ Whatever happened to customer service? How about a call back two days ago, so that we could have had time to line someone up? Now we are looking at another delayI suspect they make a point of stalling and delaying just to get the consumer to move on

My experience is that they have a difficult time finding qualified techs to work on higher end appliances I have not been able to get a Samsung washer fixed after having companies attempt the repair during a week waiting period I think that's unacceptable

Dishwasher claim opened 5/Still not resolved 10/Two failed attempts to repair unit later, FA recently approved me for a replacement unit (nearly half the value of current unit)However, like everything else since I've first dealt with FA over this, the unit won't be here for weeksThey stated they would approve a different unit that may get here quicker or that I could take the payout at the discount price for the unit they had already approved (half the cost of the current unit)Impossible to get anyone on the phone with the authority to help outIn the last months of trying to use my warranty so that I could once again have a working dishwasher, I've spent an estimated hours on the phone with FA, and I've had to rearrange my schedule times to meet service techniciansStill don't have a working dishwasher!!!! I should have just bought one myself, as I've spent far more than $worth of time dealing with FA nowI suspect that I will get a dishwasher sometime before thanksgiving, and that it will be a much cheaper unit than I have nowAll the reps I've spoken with have been nice, but none have been able to step up and help get this claim closedFA, if you're out there, please step up and do what's needed, my WO # is ***

Been on hold twice for OVER mins before anyone answers the phone and the contractor they assigned to our issue has not gotten a hold of us and though the company forwarded the contractors info over to us via email I have called multiple times for days with no return phone call and am currently on hold for over mins waiting to speak with a warranty rep about the issue

Do NOT ever use this company!! They are awful!!!! They charge you even if what is broken is not covered!! Their call center employees are rude and can barely speak English It took us calling them times, 30+ minutes each call, just to get an email sent to the contractors to come fix our problem An email that should have been sent out the first time that we called
The contractor then showed up the next day and said "why do you even have the warranty, it would have been cheaper for you if you didn't have them"
So instead of only paying the $home warranty fee, to fix a garage spring (that the home warranty company said was covered) we had to pay $+ $fee to have it realigned (the warranty company now says, a spring is not covered unless it is completely broken) If we did not have the warranty it would have only cost us $
When I called to ask them about it, they were very rude and refused to even listen to what I had to say, they constantly interrupted me and then back tracked on what their employees had told us the day before Yes, they cover things in your home, but only specific items and specific parts on each item My advice, save your money or use another warranty company

I purchased a warranty from this company in June when I purchased my new home Day of moving in I called to make an AC claim when it caught on fire due to a leak We are now in September and this has yet to be fixed So far I have paid $in fees for AC company to come out and repairs to be made, but not to fix the problem Now the water leak has caused damage to my new hardwood floors and the warranty company says they are not responsible for the floors and are done with the AC repair They want US to find someone to fix it and they will pay $ It has now been months since the initial claim and they were well aware of the problems and the potential damage that would occur if not addressed timely This company only wants your money and has not intention of fixing any of your problems The service companies around town won't even return your call when they find out if you have a warranty with this company They don't want anything to do with this company I hate that I have wasted so much time and money and most of all stress on this company We had a microwave and dishwasher with problems and we just called a service tech to fix without using the warranty company I advise you to read the review of this company and go elsewhere I don't believe the positive reviews for a second These are probably employees

The customer service is very lowThe plumber did not show up to of the appointments that had to be made and not to mention when he did he was lateAlso when they "fixed" the issue they did the job wrong and still need to come back

I purchased a home a month ago and it came with a warranty from First American....do not use this company!!!! I noticed an issue with my water softener and since it was under warranty contacted the company that installed itThe water softener came to repair the unit and informed me that my water pressure was so high it blew the valveThey said it could blow my hot water tanks which are gas and I needed a plumber immediatelyI contacted First American times and continuously was sent to an automated systemsScared, I contacted a plumbing company who could come out right awayWhen they got here, they found my pressure valve was over 100psiI tried calling First American again and told them about the emergency and they responded with"sorry, we don't cover people we don't send out"I asked them what was I supposed to do in such an emergent situation and they told me I needed to wait and speak with them.....total *** Obviously, money is more important than personal safetyI will make sure I nor my family and friends never use this company and I recommend you don't either!!

They refused to repair my main water shutoff valve because it wasn't located within the walls of my unit They replaced my toilet with the cheapest toilet available When I requested to pay extra for a more quality toilet, they refused me Their TV commercial testimonials are deceitful, especially the one that states, " I had a high end dishwasher go kaputThey replaced it with a brand new dishwasher." But they did not replace it with a "high end one", rather the least expensive one availableI did not renew for another year They replace with cheapest appliances available, and you can't upgrade even though willing to pay for better appliances I also have a heat pump located on the roofThey won't cover that either So there's no advantage having this type of "insurance"

I have had to use this company twice because this is the Home Warranty that was purchased for me on my behalf when I bought the houseI've had two issues so far and this company has been a nightmare every timeThey use the WORST contractors that do very poor businessThey utilize contractors that have no real business presence, no websites, no professional voice mail and zero customer serviceThis time around I was referred to a plumbing company that does not answer their phone during business hours and then after business hours their voicemail picks up and you can't leave a message because their voice mailbox is full(The first time around, the contractor they submitted my claim to was MIA for days before I even got a call back)I reluctantly waited the hours FAHBP told me it would be before hearing from someone and then decided to call FAHBP back to ask for a new contractorThey put me on hold for five minutes and came back and told me that they were able to get intouch with the contractor and they will be callingThat's funny because the whole time I was on hold I was using my cell phone to call their contractor at the SAME phone number they gave me and STILL got disconnected every single timeNow it's hours later and I still haven't heard anything from ANYONEThey are a true nightmare and totally unprofessionalSTEER CLEAR OF BUYING A HOME WARRANTY THROUGH THEMTHE $DEDUCTIBLE IS NOT WORTH IT!!!!! Go with a better company and pay the $deductibleyou won't be sorry

Total ripoff! The only way this company makes money is by charging service fees for jobs that don't get doneI got FAH with the purchase of a condoSoon we learned that the attic was rodent infestedI filed a claim with FAH, and they sent a contractor who didn't even have a ladder to look at the attic, but he said that the attic had rats and the policy only covers mice! Soon after I received a service bill for $I called them and elevated the call to a manager and explained to him that the contractor didn't even look at the attic and nothing had happened to warrant $He said that he would waive the feeBut later I got a bill again for the same serviceI called again and the operator said that there were no notes about any fees being waived and why should it? I explained again what had happened and asked to be transferred to a manager againThis time the call just got disconnectedI'm not going to call them again obviously because each time it takes at least half an hour to get a hold of anyone, and I've wasted enough time on these guys already

I am a single mother of children and under My air conditioner stopped blowing cool air Submitted a service request (#XXXXXXXXX) on 3/1/ Was referred to Air Discount Service (Contractor Work Order XXXXXXXXX) and was told the contractor would reach out to me within business days
After business days, I contacted the contractor myself only to be informed that they no longer do business with First American Call First American and they assign a new contractor (Payless Service IncContractor Work Order XXXXXXXXX) on 3/ Contacted by Payless on 3/7, they come to my house the same day, and declare that the A/C needs replaced Receive an email from First American on 3/stating that they received the report of diagnosis from Payless and would require - business days for First American to review the diagnosis, determine the coarse of action, and provide me with a status update I wait the full business days and AGAIN call First American on 3/
First thing I'm told is that one of the parts required to replace the A/C is not covered and will run approx$out of pocket AND, the parts were just ordered yesterday Called Payless also, and they naturally informed me that there's nothing they can do until First American provides the parts
So here we are Day My daughter's 10th birthday party is this Saturday (6/18) I'm going to have a warm house full of children and adults
Moral of the story, First American is in NO HURRY to help you out It does not matter to them how long you've been a customer It does not matter to them that children are living in a home that's 80' At this point, I am hoping that by being a constant pest, and with some begging and pleading, maybe....just maybe we'll have a new A/C by the 4th of July!

The absolute worst in customer service when it comes to home warranties
I would advise to avoid at all costs
They outsource their call centers to Central America, with customer service operators who fail at basic english comprehension, AND they often hang up on customers who have already sat through minutes of crappy telephone service
To make it even worse, if you sell the house being covered - forget about ever cancellingYou'd be better filing a dispute with your credit card company and contesting the chargesThey even advise that because when you speak to a service agent - they can't help you and tell you to email your request to cancel
DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL

Filed a claim in March because my AC compressor had been making a very loud noise and it had just gotten unbearableTech assigned was L&S Air who was poorly rated by the Revdex.comL&S confirmed the compressor was failing but indicated that FAHBP would only repair if it stopped working altogetherInstead L&S wanted to charge me over $plus the $call fee for a leak detection which wasn't covered by my policyI called FAHBP and complained and they paid for the leak detection and for L&S to get the compressor running againI also expressed my concerns that the compressor would fail soon, when it gets hotFAHBP indicated that they would only replace the part if it completely quit working regardless of the part failing to operate correctlyIts now degrees and as self predicted, it failedThey said the FAHBP wouldn't replace the compressor unless it quit working Compressor quit working two weeks ago FAHBP new contractor has failed to show up three times or fix the problem

I am very disappointed with the customer service providedThey are not interested in helping their customersThey have poor quality service providers, who have hours to get in touch with youIf they do not get in touch with you, you have to wait and get set up with another service provider which puts you out two or three more daysThe people you talk to at first American speak to you like you are nothing to them, and give you different time frames depending on who you talk toAfter being "dropped" on my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th call, I finally spoke to a supervisor, who was sympathetic, but said she couldn't do anything moreThat I would have to wait for contractor relations to resolve my issue (they have hours)
I am just trying to have my hvac looked atIt isn't working and we have had degree weatherFirst American said they couldn't get someone out to my house under daysI called hvac places near my home and they said they could come todayI called first American to see about getting reimbursed and they said I would have to wait for contractor relations to call me back, to see if I could
My first call to get my hvac serviced was FridayIt is Tuesday, and they want me to wait till this Friday or Monday to have their second service provider come outThe first service provider isn't answering their phone since Friday so they "graciously" let me switch to their second providerKeep in mind, there are other places that aren't on their contractor list, that are reputable places, who can come TODAY!!!
Very disappointed in this company and I would not recommend them to any one

This company is by far a new low Our dishwasher broke and we encountered a merry go round of customer service reps who are clueless and it's been weeks since the claim was first submitted Contractor said the unit was NOT repairable Took me phone calls and x saying the report wasn't submitted (it was confirmed times) and I'm still w/out resolution Had to go buy a replacement on our own USELESS! Called more times, was promised a refund and no offer Wait for the email No email more hours and it will be there Nothing Their reviews online are terrible Hour long hold times No supervisorsABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!

I have used this company for yearsService was great up until the last three years or soIt takes weeks to get problems addressed and the company does not respond when I contact them I would not recommend them to anyone

What a complete sham I purchased my house in November, and the seller had included this warranty coverage in the deal Since then, I have a variety of issues occur with my house, NONE of which are "covered under your policy." When I asked them to, please, list for me what is covered, it was basically appliances They said plumbing, but when I'd actually had a plumbing issue they sent two technicians out which were so under-qualified that they were not able to fix the problem which is ongoing Complete scam and farce Do not do business with this clown of a business Save your time, money and frustration

Waited weeks for plumbing part for leaking shower valve They could not find itwe found it online in minutes and our Own plumber installed the day it arrrived
SECOND issue, called in emergency call because of leaking pipe in wall Took 1/days for plumber to show up only to be told plumber could not fix because leak was in the wallduh, we told them that So, we still have water destroying our drywall Our own plumber will be here in a couple hours to fix
