The $was never the issue in this case I have a form that indicated there would be no charge for the repair on a brand new gun The store then decided to send the gun to a vendor of their choice resulting in the $chargeYour standard procedure should be to return the gun to the manufacturer who would not have charged anything

I have stated numerous times, through all correspondence, that I do not have the receipt, exact date, or exact amount of purchaseI am in and out of two area stores on a monthly basis (especially before hunting season)I have also stated numerous times that the date of purchase was prior to September and the purchase was most likely made in the Onalaska, WI store (but I cannot guarantee that 100%)If it was not in the Onalaska store, it was purchased in the Rochester, MN storeThe blind was $and I more than likely purchased other items

We received a letter from the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office of Michigan regarding this same situationHere was our reply to that complaint:

We are in receipt of the
attached complaint filed against the Gander Mountain store in Port Huron, MI and your accompanying letter dated August 13, Our company takes all consumer complaints seriously, and we try to make a reasonable effort to address these issues in a timely manner
After investigating the details of the above referenced complaint, we feel that there was no wrongdoing on the part of Gander MountainFurthermore, we feel we have made a good faith effort to address the customer's concerns
The promotion in question ran from July - August 2, 2014, and Mr*** came in to purchase the firearm on July Please also note that the advertisement Mr*** referenced clearly stated, "while supplies last" and that "no rain checks will be given for advertised items that are out of stock"
Regardless of the foregoing and in the interest of customer relations, the Gander Mountain store manager left a message for Mr*** on Friday, August offering to hold the advertised firearm and one of the expired promotional items for him through September 30,

I'm not happy with Gander Mtn.'s response because they are skirting around the real problem of my complaintThe fact that they offered to hold the product and suddenly came up with the "FREE with Purchase" gun case that they were out of and refused to get one from where ever the got this one, was just to cover up there deceptive advertising policiesI called Gander Mtnand told the manager to release the items since I found the gun at another retailer at Gander Mtn.'s SALE price which was their REGULAR price
I refuse to reward them with a $sale and support their advertising policies, which I feel are deceptive
So, the only thing I'm out is the Free Gun Case, which I find is a good trade off to Not Support companies that try to deceive the public
Gander Mtn.'s response that; "Mr***, came into the store on July 29, with an AD that was in effect since July 8th" is a very misleading statement since "Mr***, first saw the ad in the, Port Huron Times Herald Newspaper, that came as an insert on Sunday
July 27." I even went into the store that Sunday afternoon to look at the gunI told the clerk I was going to buy it, but wanted to wait
until the 29th because my charge card's billing cycle ends on the 28th and therefore I would have an extra month before having to pay for the productStandard procedure for wise shoppersSo, as for the Ad being weeks old, at the time I went into the store to purchase the Advertised item, does not hold waterAny consumer who views an Ad that was inserted in that day's newspaper, would have no concerns whatever that the Ad could possible be weeks oldGander Mtnputs in the disclaimers of; "ALL ITEMS IN THIS FLYER ARE AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LASTNO RAIN CHECKSSOME PRODUCTS NOT AVAILABLE AT FIREARMS SUPER LOCATIONS."
All retailers today have very high tech computer systems so they are aware of their "In Stock" quantities at the start of every business daySo, if they re-issue an AD days AFTER the original start date, they should be held responsible to have the products in the store or make them available through Rain ChecksThat would be the way and Honest company would operate their business
It is my belief that Gander Mtnre-issued the Sale Flyer for the sole purpose of trying to draw in customers by deception and then telling them"The AD states; WHILE SUPPLIES LAST & NO RAIN CHECKS!" And that is their claim to do anything they want in their advertising schemes to deceive the public
This was NOT my first run in with their deceptive advertisingI had at least or othersIn fact the last one I refused their offer of a
FREE $Gift Certificate! I did not want to be Bought Off and support their deceptive policiesAnd it looks like they will not change the policies on their own, since they feel that by adding the disclaimer, they eliminate all responsibilities in their advertisingAnd that

About or years ago, I saw an Gander MtnAd in their sale Flyer on a Sunday about weeks before Christmas and went into the store at 11:am on Sunday and asked for the Gun Cleaning Kit that was advertised for $(Reg.$24.99) THAT DAY! I was told they were sold out!! I asked how is that possible, since you just opened an hour or agoThe clerk told me the kits are part of their regular stock and were on the selling floor for several weeks and they were all sold before the ad brokeOf course I asked for a rain check and you know the response! Does that sound like an HONEST company???

I was never offered a discountI strongly believe that they have it set up at the Eau Claire store to deceive the customers and have them believe that they are buying at one price, but are charging full priceEverything I saw did not have the original pricing tags up or list the price as Gander Mountain normally doesAlso pertaining to the fishing reels there were no displays with the price listed or the price tag on the shelf listing the items price, just the stickers on the box giving the price.I have been to other gander Mountain stores (La Crosse, Wi), and EVERYTHING was marked on the shelf the same way it was always marked before, even the displays, and the were No items at all that did not have the price listed or just had a price tag on the box or packaging.One again I'll say I believe that the Gander Mountain store in Eau Claire, Wi, is trying to defraud customers with deceptive & incorrect pricing and charging full price & if the customer does not catch the mistake before paying they are stuck because there is no returnsAlso the immediate canned response of tags being switched and taking the price tag off the item before the manager came to take a look pretty much says it all

The second part of the complaint dealt with the Novi, Mi store holding a firearm for me and not doing so when I traveled the store to pick it up during the allotted time they provided
