I am sorry for the trouble you have had with this order. Unfortunately this item does not include the bridge mount scope, but it is listed online that the firearm can accept that particular scope. I am sorry about that.

I apologize for the trouble this experience has caused for you. Once the balance is paid in full and the account closed please call the customer service phone number on the back of the card and they will be happy to remove this inquiry from your credit report. Again, I am sorry for this inconvenience. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
$100 Credited back to me will have to be satisfactory.  I don't believe this will cover my costs to repair an item that was damaged when I received it, but apparently it will have to do.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/04/27) */
I apologize that the cancellation email was not received that was sent to[redacted]@Yahoo.com on 3/31. We only keep a record of these sent emails for one business day so I no longer have that archived. We do have some alternate 22 ammo in stock...

Thank You

I am terribly sorry for the experience you had with your web order. I tried to reach you by phone to discuss, but was not able to connect with you; sorry for that! Feel free to call me back if you need any further information or have any questions about the information below. I see that the...

additional discount for the clearance apparel that you ordered was inadvertently left off of your order, but you were issued a credit for $32.46 to make up for that error. Please look for that credit to be reflected in your balance in just a few business days. When any order is placed with us, we authorize the credit card used to ensure there are funds available in the account to cover the order. We then issue the debit when the merchandise is shipped and the authorization is removed from your account according to your bank/financial institutions schedule. I reached out to your bank on 8/2 to request that they drop the authorization associated with your order since we already had the funds that we needed. I was informed that the authorization was no longer being held.Lastly, I have sent you a gift card as an apology. The service you received is not typical and I hope you give our company a chance again.  Please let me know if I can help with anything further. Thanks!

They are just asking for the store location so the issue can't be addressed yet with a proper response. We will have to see after providing additonal information.
Store Location:
[redacted], Waco, TX 76711 (254) [redacted]
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2015/05/12) */
I am sorry for the trouble your recent purchase caused. I spoke with store management for the Waco location and was informed that our return policy is posted on all receipts and on the door, but they would also post this information at each register. Please go back to the store at your convenience for a full refund. You can ask for the store manager, [redacted]. Thank you.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2014/07/23) */
I apologize that you were first denied a purchase of ammo. The limits were advertised per box, not per purchase. This customer worked directly with the store manager to make this purchase of the limit of each item requested. According to the...

store manager, the purchase was completed on 7/9.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 18, 2014/07/23) */
Although, in Gander Mountain's response they state,"...the purchase was completed 7/9." In fact, the purchase was never completed, and no CCI Swamp People .22WMR was purchased. There remains a pile of this ammunition, that I was denied, on the sales floor unsold.
Resolution of this issue is unsatisfactory, as it does not address their false advertising problem, and I expect that it will continue.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 20, 2014/07/24) */
Thank you for your response. I apologize for my error. The store manager actually stated he spoke with Mr. [redacted] on 7/8 and agreed the the ammo in question could be purchased in the quantities requested as advertised in the flyer. I am not sure if Mr. [redacted] completed the purchase, but as of 7/8 he was made aware of our error and that he could complete the purchase.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/25) */
I apologize for the error in our recent flyer. We try to be extremely careful, but do occasionally make advertising mistakes. When discovered we quickly attempt to put up notifications in store. I am sorry again for the inconvenience.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I didn't think that they would honor their advertised price. I just would like them to stop wasting my time with falsely advertised prices. My best recourse will be to stop spending my money in their store.

I am rejecting this response because:A $10 gift card does not make up for the incorrect pricing of the decoys. If I had went to the store and had them price match the item; would you have come to my house and took the decoys back and said "here is a $10 gift card for our error". I do not think so. If you can't honor your pricing via your web site for that product, offer me a comparable product at that price or a significant discount. That's what a great company would do.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/19) */

I did not receive a duplicate e gift. When was this sent?
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/07/27) */
The original promotional egift card was sent in December of 2014. Sorry again for the trouble!

I am terribly sorry for the trouble you've had since opening your Gander Mountain credit card account. I reached out to Comenity, the bank that services our credit card, and found that your apartment number was accidentally left off of your address information when the account was set up in store....

Your address has now been corrected and you should be receiving the welcome packet that includes the credit card soon. Additionally, Comenity informed me that they will refund the finance charges and late fees and that will leave a balance of only the purchase of $16.23. Further, they will remove the delinquency which will update with the credit bureaus within 45 days. They also payrated the account and suppressed further interest for one billing cycle to give you the opportunity to pay the bill which will generate on 3/21/17 and go to the corrected address. The bill will also reflect the credits and the balance of the charge. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused for you. I appreciate your contacting us and allowing us to get this resolved. Please let me know if I can assist with anything further. Thanks!

We received a letter from the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office of Michigan regarding this same situation. Here was our reply to that complaint:
Dear Mr. Attorney General:
We are in receipt of the attached...

complaint filed against the Gander Mountain store in Port Huron, MI and your accompanying letter dated August 13, 2014. Our company takes all consumer complaints seriously, and we try to make a reasonable effort to address these issues in a timely manner.
After investigating the details of the above referenced complaint, we feel that there was no wrongdoing on the part of Gander Mountain. Furthermore, we feel we have made a good faith effort to address the customer's concerns.
The promotion in question ran from July 8 - August 2, 2014, and Mr. [redacted] came in to purchase the firearm on July 29. Please also note that the advertisement Mr. [redacted] referenced clearly stated, "while supplies last" and that "no rain checks will be given for advertised items that are out of stock".
Regardless of the foregoing and in the interest of customer relations, the Gander Mountain store manager left a message for Mr. [redacted] on Friday, August 22 offering to hold the advertised firearm and one of the expired promotional items for him through September 30, 2014.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Very truly yours,
GANDER MOUNTAIN COMPANY

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/09/05) */
I'm not happy with Gander Mtn.'s response because they are skirting around the real problem of my complaint. The fact that they offered to hold the product and suddenly came up with the "FREE with Purchase" gun case that they were out of and refused to get one from where ever the got this one, was just to cover up there deceptive advertising policies. I called Gander Mtn. and told the manager to release the items since I found the gun at another retailer at Gander Mtn.'s SALE price which was their REGULAR price.
I refuse to reward them with a $400 sale and support their advertising policies, which I feel are deceptive.

So, the only thing I'm out is the Free Gun Case, which I find is a good trade off to Not Support companies that try to deceive the public.
Gander Mtn.'s response that; "Mr. [redacted], came into the store on July 29, with an AD that was in effect since July 8th" is a very misleading statement since "Mr. [redacted], first saw the ad in the, Port Huron Times Herald Newspaper, that came as an insert on Sunday.
July 27." I even went into the store that Sunday afternoon to look at the gun. I told the clerk I was going to buy it, but wanted to wait
until the 29th because my charge card's billing cycle ends on the 28th and therefore I would have an extra month before having to pay for the product. Standard procedure for wise shoppers. So, as for the Ad being 3 weeks old, at the time I went into the store to purchase the Advertised item, does not hold water. Any consumer who views an Ad that was inserted in that day's newspaper, would have no concerns whatever that the Ad could possible be 3 weeks old. Gander Mtn. puts in the disclaimers of; "ALL ITEMS IN THIS FLYER ARE AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. NO RAIN CHECKS. SOME PRODUCTS NOT AVAILABLE AT FIREARMS SUPER LOCATIONS."

All retailers today have very high tech computer systems so they are aware of their "In Stock" quantities at the start of every business day. So, if they re-issue an AD 19 days AFTER the original start date, they should be held responsible to have the products in the store or make them available through Rain Checks. That would be the way and Honest company would operate their business.
It is my belief that Gander Mtn. re-issued the Sale Flyer for the sole purpose of trying to draw in customers by deception and then telling them. "The AD states; WHILE SUPPLIES LAST & NO RAIN CHECKS!" And that is their claim to do anything they want in their advertising schemes to deceive the public.
This was NOT my first run in with their deceptive advertising. I had at least 3 or 4 others. In fact the last one I refused their offer of a
FREE $25. Gift Certificate! I did not want to be Bought Off and support their deceptive policies. And it looks like they will not change the policies on their own, since they feel that by adding the disclaimer, they eliminate all responsibilities in their advertising. And that
is what my complaint is about. Make Gander Mtn. responsible for their ADS an make them an Honest co. It would be nice if a consumer could view their Ad and walk in the day of, or within a few days and be able to purchase the sale item.

About 4 or 5 years ago, I saw an Gander Mtn. Ad in their sale Flyer on a Sunday about 2 weeks before Christmas and went into the store at 11:15 am on Sunday and asked for the Gun Cleaning Kit that was advertised for $19.99 (Reg.$24.99) THAT DAY! I was told they were sold out!! I asked how is that possible, since you just opened an hour or ago. The clerk told me the kits are part of their regular stock and were on the selling floor for several weeks and they were all sold before the ad broke. Of course I asked for a rain check and you know the response! Does that sound like an HONEST company???

Anymore, it seems like EVERY American co. is trying to "Get One Over" on the Consumer. Is there ONE HONEST Company in American Today????? JUST ONE????? My experience tells me there are NONE!!! ComcastThe most hated company in America today. AT&T a close second. G.M., they would trade your life for a higher profit! The Oil Co.'s?? pure Price Gouging!! Insurance co.'s and Banks the most corrupt. profit TAKING co.s in the world. The Financial Industry? The biggest scam/corruption artists ever! Medical Industry?? Are you Kidding? It's becoming a joke. No, it is a Joke. You have the wealthy folks that can afford any price. Then we have the so called poor that pay,...... well NOTHING. Then there is the middle class that are getting priced out of existence since they are expected to pay for all the poor & illegals and after paying their bills we can't afford our own bills. So, what is the future of AMERICA??
IT HAS NONE!!! THE END WILL COME IN 12 TO 15 YEARS. OUR GROWING DEBT AND CORRUPT SELF SERVING POLITICIANS WILL CRUSH AMERICA INTO 6 TO 8 SEPARATE COUNTRIES. CONGRESS IS WITHOUT QUESTION THE MOST CORRUPT AND DISFUNCTIONAL BODY OF GOVERNMENT ON THE PLANET. And worst of all they know it & don't care one bit. Shameless!

Thank you for your help. I just hope retailers can be held accountable for their advertising policies.
Regards; [redacted]

My complaint is against Gander mountain in Amarillo, TX 10300 west interstate 40 phone number [redacted]. Today is June 22, 2015 and I have not heard NY ting from gander mountain about the gun I bought. Still without my gun!
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 31, 2015/07/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I accept that I can get a refund for the gun. I still need the $105.00 I had to spend on 7/11/2015 to lease a gun to get certified on the range portion of the concealed handgun license proficiency course. I would not have had this extra charge if I would have had the gun that I purchased on 6/4/2015. Over a month before the class that my daughter, son and myself took. The gun was bought as a last resort for personal protection for my family and we needed the course to prepare ourselves for using our gun not one that we had to lease from the instructor. The class are limited and not offered very often and when I signed us up I thought surely we would have our gun before 7/11/15.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 34, 2015/07/27) */
Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience this purchase may have caused for you. Unfortunately, we we not be able to pay for your firearm rental fees.

Thanks for your response. The ad states 'now starting at $39.99 Ugly Stik GX2 Rods and Combos.' The rod is on sale for $39.99 and the combos for $49.99-59.99. The ad correctly states that the sale pricing starts at $39.99. Sorry again for the trouble. Thanks!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/06/03) */
I am sorry for your recent in store experience. We are only able to sell a firearm to someone if the paperwork and payment is provided by the same person, married or not. I was informed your sale was originally denied as one person was...

filling out the paperwork and one person was providing the payment. I spoke with the store manager about this situation and he stated he spoke with you several times and offered for you to return to the store to make the purchase and he offered you a discount as well as a gift card to use on a future purchase. The store employees have all been trained on the legalities of firearm purchases and this was reviewed with them.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/06/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This salesperson in not telling the truth. At no time was ANY paperwork filled out by either of us as he refused the sale prior to my wife ever filling anything out. Where is this alleged application then? he refused a sale after accusing us of attempting to commit a crime and the manager would not even meet the salesperson and us to determine what occurred. there were other customers there who could have supported our story. This man was discriminating and the corporate office refused to speak to me at all until I said I would contact the media if they supported this action. So yes, he can send us a gift card and train his employee
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/06/19) */
Please visit the store and the store manager will be happy to assist with the sale and providing the gift card. Thank you.
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2015/06/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
the store Manager only called me one time and a substantial time following my repeated complaints to the corporate office. I explained the entire situation to him and he was unsympathetic. it was only after I made remarks about contacting other agencies and the media did he say he could waive some small fee associated with the gun purchase. I have said repeatedly and even in my responses to this agency that he may provide me with a gift card at this time. no representative of Gander Mountain has done so to date.
this company illegally denied a legal purchase and it continues to stand by the false report of this illegal and unethical transaction rather than take responsibility for this blatant act of discriminatory business.
