George Brazil Air Conditioning & Heating Reviews (1046)

Always good doing Business with George Brazil. The Tech's are Very Good. Just Had semi-annual checkup done on my 2 properties. The young man was professional, on time, Polite, and explained everthing very well to me. [redacted]. thanks and have a great Christmas.

Roy was very courteous and professional and explained in details the potential problem we could encounter in the future. He performed the necessary repair and showed us before and after pictures

Review: I contacted George Brazile about a year ago to get a quote of replacing my air conditioner (one of two, with one being done that year and one planned to be done this year). At the time the person came out to give me a quote, I was VERY clear that I had a white dust problem of unknown origin that I needed help with diagnosing and eliminating. The salesman told me the new air conditioner would clean and filter the air better, but that if after the summer the problem still persisted, George Brazile would continue to help me find the source of the problem and, if necessary, refer me to a company that could help with the problem if they couldn't. It turned out the was just a con job to get my to buy their products. They also sold me on getting my ducts cleaning, telling me they believed the white dust matched what they saw in my ducts. So for another $400+ on top of the $5,000 for the new air conditioner, I expected results. They installed and I paid for the new air conditioner. Included in the sale as part of the contract was an agreement for 2 free checkups for the new system. They have done none. They also cleaned out the ducts and there was NO improvement in the white dust. In fact, there is still areas around the sides of my ducts that were not properly cleaned out the first time and they've also done nothing to fix this problem either. When they came out to clean the ducts they took before and after photographs. They told me they would keep this in my records so that I could get copies if I needed them later to help any other company see what it looked like before they cleaned it AND because, they claimed, it gave them protection to show that they actually did the job they promised to do. I have asked for these photos and I'm told that they "lost them." Convenient for them. I wrote the company a very detailed complaint asking to speak with the owner of the company but the owner or owners refused to contact me. I received a call from one of their many managers who left me message complaining that my letter was too long and that they wanted to refund my money for the duct cleaning. I never got that refund either. I already know the people at this company will probably attack me personally, but they also installed several defective thermostats and needed to come out here several times because they couldn't even handle that properly. For over $5000 spent, there should be a reasonable belief that a company will get things right and not blame the customer for expecting and they blamed me several times for taking up their time. Yet their owner didn't have the time to make a phone call. So, to summarize, George Brazile took my money, didn't honor the contract to service the unit, didn't follow through helping me with the dust problem (at the end they wouldn't even recommend me to a company that might be better suited to do what the promised to help me with but couldn't do), they did a mediocre job of cleaning my ducts, took photos of the job that they claim are now lost, they offered a refund that they never gave me and after composing a letter to the owners to try and settle this reasonably, they chose not to make that effort as well. Any documents the Revdex.com needs to support these claims can be provided.Desired Settlement: George Brazile needs to either honor the contract which includes two free inspections of my new a/c unit, planned to do this before the summer and before next winter or they need to pay me the cost of having another company to do the work they are refusing to do and, honestly, which I don't trust them to do properly. They should also refund the money they claimed they were going to refund, provide a written explanation of how the photos, which are important and necessary records that they are entirely responsible for just managed to up and disappear and the owner of the company should personally call me to arrange these things as soon as possible. And if the owner of this company can't be bothered to contact me, [redacted] can refund all the money I wasted by trusting George Brazile to just to the things that they said they would do and, in some cases, are contractually obligated to do.

Response:

Good Morning, Placed a call to [redacted] on Tuesday 3/24/15 in effort to resolve this matter but he insisted that I only communicate via email to the Revdex.com. I’ve attached the photos that were taken prior to the Duct Cleaning and would be willing to refund [redacted] 426.42 for what he paid George Brazil to perform the Duct Cleaning. Unfortunately I do not have the pictures of when the Duct Cleaning was completed and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. I can have the office call [redacted] to schedule a Preventative Maintenance if he feels comfortable with one of my techs on his property, or I can cancel the Maintenance Program and refund [redacted] 115.34 on top of the 426.42. Please let me know how I can further assist in resolving this matter, thanks! Vinny M[redacted] George Brazil HVAC Service Manager [redacted]

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I am willing to accept most of the terms listed in the company's response. I must insist also that the pictures that I was told were lost and have been included in their response here be copied and sent by mail to me so I have the hard copies I should have gotten the first time that I asked for them. I get two inspections with my a/c purchase, the company admitted as much in their response, however, I would like to have this relationship ended after one visit to do a check-up before this summer. I see the company is offering a coupon for an inspection for $20 (anniversary special), so if they agree to inspect the new unit they put in AND inspect my second unit for the $20 and simply refund me the difference (about $30-$40) on top of the refund for the duct cleaning, I will be able to accept their offer. I would add that the company must agree to send someone who's professional to do these inspections and who will treat me with the same respect the management of George Brazil expects. If their is any sarcasm or nasty words directed at me, the person will be told to leave and George Brazil will be expected to refund all the monies for the 2 inspections that they owe me.

I will wait for the business to perform these actions and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I called to report an odd noise coming from our newly installed A/C unit and Mike F[redacted] came out this afternoon to look it over. He checked the entire system and even went into the attic to check the air handler. He found nothing wrong and explained that because of the newer coolant being used, the pressures in the unit were higher than what was in our old unit and that likely was the 'noise' we were hearing.
Mike was absolutely great and did a very thorough job. In all honesty, he did more than what I would have expected, given that the issue seemed to be just the compressor outside. Once again, George Brazil's response could not have been better. It's why they are the only company we use.

Called George Brazil to get an existing garbage disposal removed and have a new disposal installed in my home. I purchased my own disposal for them to replace. The technician said the cost to replace the existing unit with the new one I purchased would be $390. I refused his service and contacted another plumber who did the same work requested for $135. I am writing this review to warn others to check George Brazil's pricing.

Experience with Brandon W[redacted] has been a great one. Very efficient and very informative. Explained exactly what he was doing. I highly recommend his service to anyone. Will be staying with George Brazil for our servicing needs even after we move from this area.

I must confess George Brazil was not my first choice. I had previously contacted 3 other A/C businesses. It was 102 degrees and the company who had installed my A/C 8 years earlier said they could not come for 6 days. All this because I had a parts and labor 10 year contract and they wanted to charge me each time they came. The second company called York and confirmed that they were not a preferred repair company. The third company wanted $79.95 to come, parts and labor fee and would give me only one year warranty despite the fact that I was told they were a preferred repair company and I still had two years remaining on my contract. Finally I reached George Brazil. They came promptly, repaired the AC effectively and accepted the warranty. Their customer service is above reproach. [redacted]. went above and beyond to explain everything. He is an excellent representative of this company.

Our air conditioning started blowing warm air when it was 115 out. I called George Brazil because they were advertising a free service call & I figured I could find out what the problem was then call around for competitive prices without having to pay multiple callout fees. The "tech" Nate S[redacted] who came out told my wife "you have big problems" and said "... didn't you hear the bang when it blew out?" He said the compressor had blown up and even put that in writing. He said we needed a whole new unit because our old one was 27 years old and needed to be replaced. He said it had blown up but did not tell us he had pulled out the fuse and turned off the breaker to the unit. He quoted us between $9,000 and $14,000. What a big range. Maybe I should make them out a check for that amount, between $9,000 & $14,000, see what the bank pays them. I called out a small guy from [redacted] who showed up on time and tested the unit. He replaced the fuse, which was just lying where Nate had left it, fixed the breaker and turned on the unit. He tested it with his gauges and meters and determined that the problem was a capacitor. He installed a new capacitor and did some other work and charged me $300. It took him about 40 minutes. I think he probably overcharged me too but I was so pleased to not be needing a new unit for at least several thousand dollars that I happily paid it. I live in an expensive area in a gated community and I think all Nate S[redacted] saw was dollar signs when he came here. I am betting he gets a fat commission and probably is only a sales person and not a real tech. I would never EVER go near George Brazil again, not even for free, and recommend that they get banned from doing business for attempted THEFT, which is what I feel they were at with me. It just proves there really are no free lunches, and a free service call can be a lot more expensive than a low cost one.

Jorge V and Sherwin installed a new HVAC in my home today and I could not be more pleased with their service. They were polite, helpful, efficient, and tidy. It was the perfect experience!

Service Specialist was very timely and neat in appearance.

Did not rush. Asked if I had any questions.

[redacted] and [redacted] arrived when they said they would and kept us informed of the installation process throughout the day. They answered all our questions professionally (even the ones I thought might sound silly)

Beau D[redacted] is friendly and knowledgeable. He is a definite asset for George Brazil. i

[redacted] is an asset to George Brazil Co. We had a water heater replaced today and couldn't have been happier with our plumber. He was so kind, explained everything in full was very pleasant and did a great job. This is the 1st time we have used George Brazil, but will use them again if needed with great employees like [redacted]

We contacted George Brazil for an estimate for a heating and air a/c unit. A time was scheduled for the estimate and there man was there on time. He explained what was needed and would e-mail us an estimate that night. We received his e-mail as said and called the next morning to agree on the estimate . This was Friday morning, the next day, Sat. two techs were at the house at 8:30 am, by 2:00 pm they were done..Amelio H and Roberto Q. were great, very happy with the work they preformed.. They took the time to show us how to run the thermostat and change out air filters. When they were done it was like they where never here We would highly recommend George Brazil.

Derek A[redacted] was our service tech. He was the ultimate professional. Quickly located our problem, explained what our options were, and helped us to proceed with our decision to replace our A.C. Unit. To insure our immediate comfort he had a crew at our home the very next morning for the install. This was our first experience with G.B.

A.C. and Heating, however I have and will continue to recommend them, largely due to employees like Derek A[redacted] and the company's attention to quality work.

Sincerely, [redacted] and [redacted]

Just wanted to share that our technician C.J. Bradley from George Brazil a/c and heating company was most cordial, informative and easy to understand about the need for us to replace our old a/c unit that was 16 years old. We had a housefull of company from out of town, so therefore things were a bit hectic. They replaced the unit the very next day. Thank you very much for the service!

I recently had an appointment to have my AC inspected by George Brazil. The tech (Joe R.) who did the inspection called, arrived on time (actually a bit early with my approval), was very professional and did an outstanding job.

[redacted] did a great job. He was friendly, thorough and knowledgeable.

We were very impressed with the prompt response and the professional work of Mike F[redacted] & Chris M[redacted]. They took care of the problem and explained to us what the problem had been.

Great Work!!
