Review: I bought a warranty for my handheld device through rogers from a third party company called the global warranty group for the amount of $150.00 cd. The warranty included a replacement phone for lost, stolen, and defective phones. I reported my phone stolen about a month ago and the agent told me that they did not have a phone in stock so in compensation they would send me a cheque in the amount of $700.00 cd. in the next 5-6 business days. I have not recieved anything and it's been a month also, over the month I have called numerous times demanding to talk to a [redacted] and they said someone would call in a day or two but I still haven't recieved or heard anything from this company.

Account_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement
I would like the cheque we agreed upon in the amount of $700.00 cd in compensation for not having the phone I claimed in stock.
Review: I had smartphone insurance with the company. My phone is brocken and its very difficult to use. I claimed for replacement phone and as they couldn't provide a phone they offered me $700, in cheque.
They charged $400 on my credit card as security to send my Brocken phone back. But my claim is not processed.Desired Settlement: Please either provide me my replacement phone as promised or $700 cheque. With apology from the agent [redacted] who was very rude and not helpful.
Review: On March [redacted], 2012, I bought my son a phone with Fido and insured the device for 2 years with the GWG Warranty Canada Limited. The insurance was paid up front at Fido's office. The advertising said that replacement phones are shipped after 24-48 hours. The phone broke and I informed the insurer. I was told that they have no supplier of phones for Fido and offered me a cheque instead. We agreed on 425$ to be sent to me within 10 business days from the delivery of the phone to GWG Warranty Canada Limited. I duly sent the broken phone via registered mail, my credit card was promptly charged with the deductible of 95$ on October [redacted], 2013. Since then I have communicated several times with GWG Warranty Canada Limited both by e-mail and by phone and every time I was given a different reason why my cheque was not processed. The initial ten working days period became two to four weeks, then five to eight weeks, then ten weeks until the representatives of GWG Warranty Canada Limited refused to state any time when the cheque would eventually be issued. After few calls an emails I received a credit of 50$ towards the money withdrawn from my credit card, but the balance of 375$ remains unpaid as of today, January [redacted], 2014. To add insult to injury, I was made to pay one month fee to Fido to cancel my contract - even if it was obvious that this monthly contract cannot be used due to the lack of device replaced or paid off. I refused to use the offer of a new phone through Fido as the company continues to use GWG Warranty Canada Limited as an insurance agent. I do believe that it is not a healthy business practice to lie to customers. And this is exactly what happened with the insurance policy for a phone replacement guarantee by GWG Warranty Canada Limited. All the staff I talked to was eminently nice and courteous - but did not manage to resolve the issue which was escalated to other nice and courteous people and so far no good had come out of it. More information available upon request.Desired Settlement: I do require to receive the money due to me under the contract and I will be glad to be compensated for the time spent on the matter as well. I will be even happier if I am the only victim of such policy from GWG Warranty Canada Limited, but I sincerely doubt as I was told several times that there was not enough staff to process all the claims and this is why the cheque for me was delayed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
Thank you very much for all the work on my behalf in resolving the problem cited above. As my records with Global Warranty Group, LLC does not inspire confidence, I would be glad to see first the cheque that is sent to me as per the information from them and be sure that it will clear with my bank.
As the cheque is for $425, I presume that the extra $50 are a compensation for all the troubles I have to go to in order to receive the compensation in accordance with the insurance policy. That makes around $5 per e-mail or phone call. But may be the cheque will be accompanied by an explanation letter - I will keep you posted about it.
Once again, thank you very much for your kind assistance in the above mentioned file.
Sincerely,
Business

Review: On Dec. of 2012 I purchased an Apple IPhone and purchased Wireless protection insurance through Global Warranty Group in the amount of $150. My phone was lost in in Nov. 2013. I filed a claim with Global Warranty Group and was informed by E-Mail that my claim had been approved and that a charge of $150 was placed on my credit card. Review: I purchased an insurance plan for my smartphone in August 2013 through Ensquared and the Global Warranty Group for $99. On Wednesday 4/**/2014, my smartphone was damaged and I filed a claim. Since the company was unable to locate a replacement phone for me, I was told over the phone by a customer service representative that they would instead issue me a check for $600. I was promised an immediate email or phone call from their claims processing department to verify the status of my claim and provide me with an estimate of the time until I receive the check. I would like a firm answer on when the check will be mailed for several reasons.
First, the customer service representative to whom I spoke could offer no estimate on how long it would take to receive the check, and would not provide a phone number for their claims processing department. Second, I have not yet received a phone call or email back from the claims processing department, as I was promised. Third, there are numerous complaints posted online from customers who have not received a check from the company, even after months of waiting and numerous phone calls. Fourth, I just spent a considerable amount of my own money buying a new cell phone off-contract, and would like to be reimbursed ASAP. Fifth, the money seems to be flowing in the wrong direction. On 4/**/2014, my credit card was charged $775 by Global Warranty Group. This includes a $75 deductible for my claim and a $700 "hold," which I was told will be removed after I receive my check, and I send in my damaged phone. Global Warranty Group appears to move very quickly when it comes to billing my credit card, but is unwilling to provide a firm answer on when my claim will be resolved.Desired Settlement: Since the company has stated that they owe me a check for $600 for my claim and I have already purchased a new cell phone, I would like to know when this check will be mailed.

Review: They promised to send me 550 dollars for my cellphone replacement in January and I have yet to receive a check.
In the beginning of January I called to tell them my phone as stopped working. They said no problem. Told me to send my phone to them within 30 days and they would charge my visa $300 until they received my phone at which they would send me a new htc one phone. They called the next day and told me they did not have this phone in stock so could they send me a check for $550 instead. I agreed. I waited about a week but I was [redacted] pregnant and I needed a phone so I went to Rogers and got a new iphone. I put this on my line of credit. I have been waiting for this check. I did send my phone back and they have given my $300 back. I have called every month and they just say that their accounting department is backed up but they have sent an email asking for a update which they told me I should receive a response in 48 hours which I have never received. I called again today and asked to speak to a [redacted]. They told me their was no one else. That all she can do is send another request. At this time I don't know if this is a scam since they had no problem charging and crediting my visa within days. I would just like to receive my money to pay my line of credit as I'm on maternity. Thank youDesired Settlement: I would just like my check for the $550.

Review: We had sent in my daughter's cell phone to the Global Warranty Group this past February. We had received this email once our deductible was paid. We received the tracking information and sent the phone (have copy of this). It was delivered to them 2/*/14.
Dear ________,
Thank you for choosing The Wireless Protection Program. We are pleased to inform you the deductible for your Broken cell phone claim has been approved and completed.
Your credit card was processed on 2/*/2014 and a charge of $75.00 was placed on your credit card from Global Warranty Group.
Shortly, you will be receiving an additional email containing the shipment tracking information for this cell phone.
The Wireless Protection Program Claims Department
Please do not respond to this email as this email box is not monitored.
We did not receive an additional email with tracking information, so we called in to check on the status of the phone (a few weeks later) only to find that it was on back order and they did not know how long the process would be...they would notify us. We did not hear anything within the next few weeks so called again. This time we were told that the phone was no longer available so we were offered a refund check which we agreed to. Again, they could not tell us how long this process would take and would notify us. We did not hear anything, so we called again to check the status of our refund..they again did not know how long the process would be. Well, it has been almost five months and nothing has been resolved and my daughter is out the $75 that initiated the claim not to mention money towards a new phone. This was supposed to be a four-day turnaround. Very upsetting! We ended up going through our provider to purchase another phone for our daughter. It is sad that we pay to have insurance and this is what happens. This was very unfortunate for my daughter...we do not want this to happen to anyone else.Desired Settlement: We would like Global Warranty Group to follow through with what was promised to us.

Sincerely,
Review: I purchased iphone5 insurance from this company at the Verizon Wireless store in [redacted] which was a two year warranty for approximately 175.00. I filed a claim December *, 2013 within the time frame of the two years. They charged my credit card for an additional fee of $179.00 fee for a deductible which was in the contract. They said my replacement phone would arrive in 2 to 3 business days and my broken phone was to be shipped back to them within thirty days or my credit card would be charged an additional $475.00. I never received the replacement phone, and called the next week. They told me they did not have the phone in stock and would send me a check for $650.00 to arrive within 10 to 14 business days. Those days came and went and I have not received a check from them as of today. They charged my credit card an additional charge of $475.00 on January [redacted] because they have not received my broken phone. So basically I have paid $175 for a warranty, another $179 for deductible, and $450 to this company, a total of $804 and have not received a penny from them. This appears to be some kind of scam. I have called the customer service department everyday for two weeks, and they cannot tell me when a check will be sent. They also have no number to call to file a complaint. Their contact number is a fax number. Today, I called the verizon store I purchased the warranty from, and they are working on helping me to resolve this issue. This Global Warranty Group has very poor business practices, and I would never recommend them to anyone. What warranty contract charges a person $804 on their credit card when they are suppose to be giving me money? Something is very wrong with this situation.Desired Settlement: I want them to honor their contract with me. I paid for the warranty and the deductible. I would like a check for $650 which was promised by the warranty company since they did not have a replacement phone in stock, and a refund of the $475 they charged my credit card for not receiving my old phone. I can't ship my old phone until I get a replacement, and I can't get a replacement until they send me the $650.

Review: We filed a claim on a cell phone back at the end of December. We were told the phone could not be replaced because they were not longer making the phone. Therefore, they would be sending us a check to cover the cost of the new phone. In the meantime, we purchased a new phone. We have yet to see a check and it is 2 months later. I have called several times and I get different stories every time I call. I have heard, your check has been mailed, you should see it in 10 to 14 business days, if we mailed you a phone you would have it by now, the accounting department is backed up, we can't tell you when your check will be mailed, you should have your check by now... You can only talk to customer service and then they 'escalate' the call to another department. I am told each time this escalation department will call be back and no one ever does! It is getting a little frustrating that no one can give us an answer and we already purchased the phone thinking the check would NOT take this long. Also, we had the Verizon store that sold us the policy call about our claim and they got the same run around.Desired Settlement: We just want to be reimbursed for the phone we purchased because they assured us they were sending a check for $550 to replace the phone. Or an honest answer on when the check is being sent out.

check#[redacted] for $550.00 mailed 3/*/14
Review: I have had a very difficult time working with Global Warranty Group’s Wireless Protection Program and have been waiting now for over two months for a check that will reimburse me for my missing iPhone 5, 16 GB.
Not only did I pay for the insurance itself when I purchased my original iPhone at Verizon Wireless Zone, but I also paid the $179.00 deductible to receive a new phone (payment made on 12/**/13,, claim approved on 12/**/2013). Per what I had read on the website [redacted]) I anticipated receiving my replacement phone within “24-48 hours.” I never received the phone, but rather received a call from a Global Warranty Group representative on December ** indicating that the iPhone 5 was no longer being manufactured and I would be receiving a check in the mail for the retail price of the iPhone 5c 16 GB, $549.00 (this price was supposed to be comparable to what I paid when I first purchased the iPhone 5).
I completely understand that the iPhone 5 was no longer being manufactured and I appreciated Global Warranty Group’s call, their honesty and the update (please note, every representative I have spoken with has been extremely friendly and engaging). But there are two major issues worth addressing:
1. I was told that I would be receiving $549.00 – the retail cost of the iPhone 5c. My purchase of the iPhone 5 is not comparable to the iPhone 5c (a cheaper version of the phone). My purchase was comparable to the iPhone 5s. I was not aware of this – I simply trusted Global Warranty Group – but was told by an Apple representative that I was being withheld an additional $100. The check should have been for $649.00 since that was the retail price of the iPhone 5 when I purchased it with my Verizon plan. (I paid a total of $687.94 with tax).
2. And most importantly, I have NOT received a check yet. I was sent an email on December ** that my claim had been approved and completed, but still, nothing has come in the mail. I have made calls on January *, 2014 and February *, 2014, and sent an email (with similar content to this complaint) on February **, 2014. Each time I called, the customer service representative indicated that the check was going through an expedited process and would be sent quickly (no specific dates were ever given/available).
Replacing a phone is very expensive and I do not have the means to do so without some support. That is why I pay for insurance and trust companies like Global Warranty Group to help. I went nearly 3 weeks without a phone because I could not afford one and finally, when no check had come, decided to borrow money to purchase one myself. So when you calculate the insurance I paid for, plus the payment I made to Global Warranty Group for my replacement phone, plus the cost of a new phone (I paid a total of $687.94 with tax for my phone) I am nearly $1,000 in the hole. This is absurd and unacceptable and having to pay interest on my borrowed money is making this very difficult on me.
I will also be filing a separate complaint against Verizon Wireless Zone for selling this insurance.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my deductible of $179 + the $687.94 I paid for the phone. Additionally, I would like to be refunded for the insurance I paid for initially (I will file a separate complaint with Verizon Wireless Zone).
If I do not receive payment within 30 business days, I will consider legal action.

After several attempts to contact GWG via their customer support phone number ###-###-#### I was told the matter had been reviewed and the money should be forthcoming shortly, The company never gave me a status update or the payment after numerous calls and attempts to receive a status update.Desired Settlement: I would like my $650 as promised.

Review: I bought a cell phone insurance policy for two phones, samsung galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4. One broke dec **, 2013. I put a claim in. Deductible was put on my mastercard that day. They called a week later and told me no phone was available and would I accept a check in the amount of $578. I said yes. Still waiting after weeks of escalating the call and no resolution. Their escalation department does not take calls during the day. You have to leave them an email to get them to call you back, if they ever do. And no [redacted] or [redacted] in the office I talked to ever.
Now I have another phone Samsung Galaxy S4 that is broken, claim processed on my card, deductible of $130. No phone available so they offered another check for $700. Told them I did not want to do this as I still have not received the first check from over 2 months ago. They said that all they could do after that was refund the deductible to my card. No replacement, no money, nothing else. So I accepted the check yet again. I have sent in both phones to their company (otherwise they hold at least $380 per phone on your card until the claim is closed).
No resolution, no check, no phones, no offer of another phone. No one to talk to in management.
Was contacted by an [redacted] of the [redacted] office to say they dont usually deal with checks, only replacement phones hence the time delay, and that my check for the first phone should be delivered sometime approx. this month (verbatim).Desired Settlement: I want either the replacement phones (Samsung Galaxy X3 and Samsung Galaxy S4) or the said checks in the amounts of $578 and $700 respectively as soon as possible as I need to replace my phones for business purposes.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
There are 2 claims by myself and my boyfriend for 2 different phones through this company. One for a claim from December **, 2013 (samsung galaxay S3) offered a check for $578 on December **, 2013, which I accepted. Have been waiting ever since for that check. The check has not come and it has been escalated and not dealt with to my satisfaction. Have not been able to replace the first phone because of it.
Now there is a second claim (the one to which they are referring to) for a samsung Galaxy S4, and a check was offered (as stated by GWB) for $700 and I accepted it (albeit unwillingly) as the first check has not come yet from December 2013.
I should be receiving a check from over 2-1/2 months ago for $578 (to which there was no mention) and another check that was just offered last week (February **, 2014) in the amount of $700.

Review: On December [redacted], 2013 I processed a claim for a broken cell phone with GWG. They took the deposit of $300+ dollars and the deductible of $95.00 for a replacement phone. The deposit was in case I did not return the broken phone. I received a phone call from a GWG rep on Dec [redacted] indicating that my cell phone was no longer available and they would instead send me a check for $585.00 if it was OK with me. I accepted the offer and proceeded to purchase a new phone, then sent my broken one back to Global Warranty. Below is the tracking info pulled from the claim tracking, it has not changed since January.

I have repeatedly called and get the same response every time. " I am sorry but I will need to escalate this, there is nothing I can do". I sent an email to GWG at [redacted] back in early February and never received a response. It is now April [redacted] almost 4 months since the claim was started. GWG has taken my deductible of $95.00, has my broken phone and has not sent me the check of $585.00 as indicated. At this point I am extremely angry.Desired Settlement: I would like the $585.00 that GWG owes me plus the $95.00 deductible as an inconvenience fee. Currently they are in every sense of the word thieves as they have taken my deductible and not provided me a replacement phone equivalent or greater than the Samsung Galaxy S3. Should this not be settled I will have no choice but to file a claim in court and that claim will be far greater than $585.00

Review: I have insurance on my cell phone with this company. I sent in the phone (###-###-#### is number trying to get replaced) back in April 2014. I have called maybe a week and a half later. I was told they didnt have a phone and would issue me a check for $600 for the phone. A check was confirmed for me to get on April [redacted] 2014. I still have not gotten the check or a new phone. I have called every couple days to find out the status of my claim and they say it is still being reviewed. After months of calling I asked them for their company name and address and told them I was taking this to the Revdex.com. They gave me the information. I am at a point I have no idea how to get the money they told me I was getting for the phone, yet they still continue to take out the money to pay for the insurance of the phone.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the check for the claim I filed and was told I would get.
