Review: I found my home address and personal phone number online on Find The Company/Find The Best's website. It lists me as owning a company, which I do not, and there is no way to remove the listing online. It requires me to log into some website, Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. --which requires giving pages and pages of personal and work information just to attempt to delete my information from a website that I had never consented to share my information in the first place. I work in a clinic with all kinds of patients, including mentally unstable patients. Needless to say, I do not want my home address and number listed. I also do not want to spend 2 hours of my time attempting to remove my listing. This is very frustrating and an invasion of my privacy, to say the least.Desired Settlement: I want my listing removed from the Find My Company website. I also do not want my information shared or sold.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We understand that you would like to remove some information from FindTheCompany. FindTheCompany is a powerful research tool for finding key information on companies and organizations. Each month, millions of consumers, business owners, analysts, and sales professionals rely on FindTheCompany's free tools to make critical business decisions.

We have partnered with several of the most respected data providers in the industry. By bringing together dozens of top sources, we can provide the most comprehensive and authoritative database of US companies online. Examples of partners include Xignite, which powers our financial data, and the US Government, which provides official public data, such as contracts, loans, grants, and other firmographic details. We also integrate data from other FindTheBest network sites, like FindTheBest.com, which provides information on company’s products and services.

Our list of companies is based on the data collected by our partners. They gather information from a variety of places, such as court filings, statements of incorporations, user submissions, and other publically available sources. If you incorporated your business, responded to a public survey, or provided information to the government, your company was likely added to our partners’ databases.

To remove the information, please contact our source database, Dun & Bradstreet to process this request. Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. is a public company that licenses information on businesses and supplies us with most of our data. Updates and corrections to D&B's information can be submitted over the phone at 800-765-3867. This is a direct line to Dun and Bradstreet which requires no creation of an account or the need to give personal information. We require that a customer go through Dun and Bradstreet before we remove the listing because that is the only way we can make sure the change stays permanent and keep them from licensing your data in the future. Once the changes have been confirmed in D&B's database, D&B will alert us and FindTheBest will also remove the information from our website.

Thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter.

Sincerely,

The FindTheBest Team

Review: I was VERY alarmed to see the information of both my minor children on the site of Findthebest.com. My children are NOT active online and are below the age of 16. I want their information removed IMMEDIATELY!! How is it that businesses are even allowed to do this? Their business, so far, is the only one that lists my children's information and their "Opt out" policy is a joke!! "We do have some exceptions for those who are in law enforcement, are protected public officials, or are victims of violence." but children are fair game? Amazing! And I have no idea how long my children's information has been up on that site. For all I know it could be from before the age of 10. Maybe they should be a little more discerning about the information they're putting up on their site. This is ridiculous!Desired Settlement: I want my children's information removed IMMEDIATELY from their site. (They'll probably turn right around and post all my information on their site instead to get back at me).

Review: They list my home address online, with a map! I asked them to remove it 4 times, after recently being found by a man I used to know who is now in jail for rape. There is no reason to have my name and address on that website, since I am not a business and the house isn't even in my name, it is my boyfriends house. He does not want me listed as having a business there either with his address. I need this information gone immediently, for my own safty.Desired Settlement: info taken off website.

Business

Response:

Review: Findthecompany.com and findthebest.com are advertising my home address and home phone number. I have very serious concerns about my personal safety, and have numerous times asked these companies to remove me from their websites. I also have taken noticed that numerous individuals are having the same issue and the companies are refusing to remove their personal information. I never had a personal business/company, and am not quite sure how they received my personal address and phone number.Desired Settlement: My personal information removed from these websites (and investigate these companies for releasing personal information on US citizens). In the military we have what is called a "PRIVACY ACT" and I am shocked to see such companies can advertise our personal information for the world to see.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted],

Review: Find the Best is listing my personal home address and home phone number for my business (J9 Public Relations). I have contacted them several times via email and via their website to have this information corrected. A few months ago they blamed a glitch in their system for the incorrect information and supposedly corrected it. Yet, today, August 3, 2013, I see they are still listing the incorrect information. At this point, I want my business completely removed from the website and records as they cannot be trusted to fix or edit anything.Desired Settlement: Remove personal information and J9 Public Relations from all Find the Best listings.

Business

Response:

We received your request during our non business hours on a Saturday and did not have any customer service agents available to personally check your request. We are sorry for any inconvenience or delay resulting from our ability to not respond sooner. We have already conferred with our data source provider Dun and Bradstreet and removed your listings from our site FindTheCompany. While the change on our site should happen immediately it may take a few days for the name to disappear from Google search results as their algorithm updates. We thank you for your patience and hope that we have accommodated your requests fully.

Review: They listed my name as amotor carrier registrant, named Adan abdi fugicha,USDOT#1758939. I have never had an authority to operate in my name,in the year they listed in their database..this is an infringements of my rights and my identity being used on afalse information..findthebest.com,should immediately delete my name from their database.Desired Settlement: Delete the false info published and email me the same, that they deleted from their database.

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted]

Review: This company FindTheBest.com, which also uses the name FindTheData.org, has repeatedly ignored and denied my written emailed requests to remove and delete sensitive information that it is advertising about me on their website without my consent or permission. Most reputable websites and companies have an easy, simple opt/out removal form when compromising public or sensitive information is being advertised or published against someone's consent or permission on a company's website, but FindTheData.org is not one of them. The company's auto-email responses to my removal requests have been met with defiance and misleading references to state statutes, which are taken out of context and are in conflict with federal privacy laws. All I want is my private listing information removed from their website. I am requesting the help of the Revdex.com to have this company immediately remove and delete all of my listing information from FindTheBest.org website since my requests from this company has been repeatedly ignored.Desired Settlement: REMOVE and DELETE my name and ALL related listing information this company is publically advertising about me and my personal voting information on their website at FindTheData.org. DELETE this hyperlink:http://fl-voters.findthedata.org/l/1217372/Inga-Talma immediately.

Business

Response:

The data that FindTheBest and FindTheData hosts is made publicly available through the Florida Department of State. Under Florida law, voter registration information and records are made available for the public and third parties. FindTheBest has removed the request listing from our site but highly encourages Ms. Talma to contact the original source, Florida State, to correct any errors and prevent information from being released in the future. Take care.

Review: Advertising a business that does not exist under my name and home address.Desired Settlement: Profile removed from website and info deleted.

Business

Response:

When someone contacts FindTheBest wanting to remove information from FindTheCompany, there is no push back from us. We direct people to Dun and Bradstreet, our third party source, to begin the removal process. Simply deleting a listing from our site is a temporary solution. FindTheBest's database mirrors Dun and Bradstreet's database. Therefore when we run an update, that listing would be re-imported back onto system. To keep the change permanent we have customers first remove the information from the source, Dun and Bradstreet. We have set up a specific phone number for customers to call with trained people at Dun and Bradstreet who are aware of the requests related to FindTheBest.

Updates and corrections to D&B's information can be submitted online at https://iupdate.dnb.com or over the phone at ###-###-####. Once the changes have been confirmed in D&B's database FindTheBest will promptly update the listing on our site to reflect the changes. We hope that this will resolve the matter. Take Care.

Review: After a number of attempts to remove my name from the website run by this company they have ignored my requests. My husband had the same issue and after he threatened legal action against them they simply removed his name and added mine instead. Due to this company illegally posting information about me on the internet. I need assistance to have my name disassociated from this site.http://nyc-property-values.findthedata.org/l/[redacted].Desired Settlement: I need assistance to have our names disassociated from this site permanently.

Dear [redacted],

Review: I've included a webpage that this advertising company is displaying my information as they are going as far as using a logo that is probably copy write protected by the University. I feel this information is false and is certainly not correct and invades my privacy by all means. Here is the info:http://california-employees.findthebest.com/l[redacted]Desired Settlement: Remove my information immediately.

Business

Response:

Hi [redacted],

This company should be shut down for good. They obtained my personal contact information illegally through SAM.gov and have posted it publicly. I filed a Revdex.com complaint before against this company and they took it down temporarily, but they've posted again. I hope they all go to prison.

Review: Site states they are providing public information related to my name. The information is incorrect, non-public and they have Recapcha as part of their submission process. It is not accepting correct entries. So submission of issue can not be made.My contact would have included the following information:I wish to have this link and my name removed or blocked from your database.Your customer service rep ([redacted] I believe, however no last name was provided on her email), stated information posted in this link was gathered through FIOA from my state database. The link states information was gathered from FINRA as well. The only state qualified to legally report regulatory information about me as an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR), is CA. It is the only state where I have ever been registered as and IAR. I have written correspondence from the General Counsel for the California Department of Business Oversight's Public Records, Securities Division, confirming only an IAR's passed exams are publically available. The SEC, FINRA and NASAA have confirmed this is their policy as well. You show me registered in MA, which is inaccurate. According to Public Records Counsel in the Registration, Inspections, Compliance, and Examinations (RICE), Massachusetts Securities Division, my CRD record shows I have never been registered as an Investment advisor in that state. He clarified it meant they would have no legal authority to provide public records about me as an IAR.At this time your site is publicizing information about me that is incorrect, non-public and was not gathered in accordance with the FIOA .Desired Settlement: I wish to have this link and my name permanently removed or blocked from their database.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Review: This Company has listed my Mother's house as a business under my deceased father's name. There has NEVER been a business at this private residence. It lists her phone number, address and personal information open to the public for contact. It is a blatant LIE!!!It even lists a fictitious salary and income! There was no where on the site to remove this information without divulging your own personal information. By doing that - according to their policy - you open the door for the Company to use your name and personal information at their own disgression. It is a Marketing company using innocent people's information and placing risk on the person they have listed. This needs to be addressed by the Attorney General and put out of business!!!Desired Settlement: Remove my Mother's private information from the site and make it known to the general public that this site is invalid, should NEVER be operating as a search engine and information contained within is made up, WRONG, and a total LIE!!!

Review: I have requested several times for my personally identifiable information be removed from all findthebest.com website pages, including mooseroots.com, and other affiliates. No customer service representative has contacted me in regards to this issue.Knowing that other individuals have filed complaints and been successful in having their information removed, I request the same for me.Desired Settlement: I request that findthebest.com and mooseroots.com remove all personally identifiable information on me, including my first and last name, my mother's maiden name, and my birthdate... in addition to any current or past living addresses that they have posted without my permission or consent.

Hi K[redacted],

Review: Findthebest.com's subsidiary site, findthecompany.com posted my personal information stating it is a business along with my address and phone number.I contacted them through their web form to have the listing removed, but have not heard anything back.I even created an account and logged in to remove my personal information, although some kind of verification process has not happened so it is still posted.Their website says they get their information from Dun & Bradstreet who I have contacted and they said they would remove my information from the Dun & Bradstreet database. There is no usable phone number for support for findthebest or findthecompany.com.Desired Settlement: Remove my personal information immediately and permanently!

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted],

I completely agree. Our home is an active real estate listing and we close on our new home in a week. These yahoos have listed incorrect info about our home stating that's its value is in the BOTTOM 10% of all homes in our area and the lot is among the smallest. Surely this is hurting us because the info comes up while performing a BASIC Google search of our address unrelated to this company.

We've done landscaping, painted from top to bottom, new flooring, new mechanicals, new roof etc.

They excuse this practice by stating they got the info from a local government website. Fine, but the problem comes from this: they want me to SIGN UP for an ACCOUNT by providing PERSONAL info about myself in order to gain access to and edit the info so that it's correct. That's bull.

I've got a request in to customer service for THEM to remove my listing or my lawyer can tell them to remove it. I shouldn't have to give out my personal info (which they're going to use for telemarketing) to have them remove info that's not only wrong but may also negatively impact my finances.

Review: Graphiq has my minor son's birth record on its site www.birth-records.mooseroots.com. Graphiq states in its privacy policy that it does not collect information on children under 13 but my son's birth information is there which includes birthdate, mother's maiden name, place of birth. I have repeatedly requested Graphiq through their online support to delete this listing but have received no response. There is no phone number I can call, there is only one number listed but it only has a prerecorded message. I'm at a loss on how to remove this information because so far, I have not been able to get anyone to respond.Desired Settlement: I would like Graphiq and its sister sites to remove my son's information from their database and stop this exploitation.

Review: On or about 11/11/2013, I was researching local Home Health Providers in the Oklahoma City areas. I located this site web-site supplying the information printed the information needed and ever since I printed just one (1) time? The same document keeps printing to my I.P. address. I have made several attempts to e-mail the support team with no positive response or resolution. This is preventing me in diligently performing my position duties and it is taking up unnecessary ink for the printer each time it printsDesired Settlement: Out Come: ReplacementI want my I.P. address deleted to help me move forward and my toner replaced from all the random printing. "Allison" ( [email protected] ) is e-mailing me all day but no one will call me directly. Thank you in advance for your time. Tori Gilliam 405-778-6270
