July 30, 2014Dear [redacted]:This correspondence confirms receipt of Complaint ID [redacted] filed by [redacted] of [redacted]. We have reviewed the complaint and find that the customer does not have current advertising with Hibu. The last contract was signed January 23, 2011. The advertising began in April 2011; the contract was paid in full and the advertising ended March 2012. However, it appears that when the advertising ended, the website was not taken down. We have contacted the website team and the website, [redacted] will be taken down with 24-48 hours from the date of this letter. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this oversight has caused. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at the number below.Sincerely,Heather H[redacted] Executive Services Specialist Hibu Investigations and Resolutions

Review: On September 7, 2013, I filed a complaint against HIBU Corporation, complaint ID # [redacted].

On September 18, 2013, a [redacted], "Executive Services Specialist" from HIBU sent a letter to the Revdex.com saying that HIBU, was going to make a refund to me in the amount of $120, and would discontinue billing me in the future.

The letter went on to apologize to me, and I assumed that this was a positive resolution of the matter.

On September 24, 2013, I received a letter from HIBU complaining that the credit card account that I had been using for processing their billing had been closed, and that they were unable to process a payment I allegedly owed, and making threats about assessing the late fees and ruining my credit rating, etc. I assumed that this letter, although it was a week after **. [redacted]'s letter to you, was simply a matter of one department not knowing what the other department had resolved, and assumed that I could ignore this letter. I did forward it on to **. [redacted] to ask her to resolve it.

On October 12, 2013, I received a bill saying that I was in debt to them for $1830.

I have no idea where this number came from.

I again wrote to **. [redacted]. I reminded **. [redacted] that she had promised to send me $120 on September 18, and here it was now, three weeks later, and I was being billed for $1830, and of course, had not received the $120 refund.

**. [redacted] did write back to me, and told me that the $1830 was a mistake, and that she did not know why I had not yet received the $120 refund, but that she would look into it.

I waited two weeks more, and again contacted **. [redacted], and asked her why I had not received the $120 check that she had promised. She exolained, that the credit of $120 had indeed been posted, but because their records indicated that I owed $1830, they could not send me the $120, it was simply used to offset the $1830, so that I only owed $1710. But of course, I didn't owe anything, and this mistake in debt was being used as an excuse to send me the $120 which [redacted] acknowledged was owed to me. [redacted] apologized and said that she would look into it. I waited another to weeks, and wrote again to Heather, as I still had not received the $120 that was promised to me. [redacted] explained to me that a credit of $120 had been made on to the credit card that was used to set up my account. I explained to [redacted] that that credit card had long ago been closed down, and that her company was well aware of this, as they had sent me letters on 8/23/13 and 9/24/13, complaining that that credit card account had been closed down. [redacted] said that she would look into it and see if she could have the credit to that card reversed, and have a check sent to me. I waited another week, and wrote to [redacted] again. [redacted] said that it is her company's policy that unless and until the credit card company rejects their credit that they made to my closed account, that they would not do anything further, and she suggested that I contact the credit card company to try to get a check from them. I explained to Heather, that I had closed down this account more than four months ago, that I had thrown away the credit card, that I was not receiving any statements from the credit card company, and that I don't even remember what company it was with. Furthermore, it was their mistake, not mine, and I shouldn't have to go through the hassle.

[redacted] said that she would look into. [redacted] wrote back to me a week later, saying that she was very sorry but that it is her company's policy that if they do not get a rejection of their credit from the credit card company, that they would not issue a separate check to me.

Bottom line, I have never seen that $120, and apparently I never will.

This company has made "mistake" after "mistake", with the constant theme of charging me when I shouldn't be charged, and not making refunds that they promised to make.

I do not know if this company is intentionally dishonest, or just grossly incompetent. But the bottom line is, they cannot be dealt with in a safe and honorable manner.

I don't know what it takes to get the $120 out of them that they acknowledged they owe me. Maybe you can help.Desired Settlement: I would like HIBU to send me the money that they acknowledged they owe me, right away, without putting up artificial excuses without further delay. It is almost three months since they promised to send me a $120 check. I'm certain, given what has transpired, that I will never see the check from them absent some kind of coersion, either a request from you, or litigation from me.

Dear [redacted]:

This correspondence confir** receipt of Complaint ID [redacted] filed by [redacted] of [redacted]. We understand [redacted]’s frustration with the issue of the refund but this has not been an intentional act on the part of Hibu. We received confirmation from [redacted] Bank that they received the refund that was processed to the customer’s now cancelled credit card. According to [redacted], they initiated the process of sending a refund check to **. [redacted] on December 1 and the check should be received within 10-14 business days via regular mail.

We sincerely apologize to **. [redacted] for any inconvenience she has experienced as a result of this matter. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at the number below.

Sincerely,

Review: We are an auto repair facility servicing all makes and models. Here is a quick synopsis of what hibu is supposed to do for us: We pay them every time someone calls the tracking number they provide for our business. In return for this payment they are supposed to advertise what we do here which is general automotive repair i.e. auto maintenance, auto repair. My May bill was in the amount of $342.00, that’s 9 calls at $38.00 a call. I have reviewed every single call and none of them apply to our business. I have had phone calls from people trying to cancel their tee time, reporting a crime, and even people trying to reach animal control. These calls that have nothing to do with my business are not only costing me money, but it also takes away time for my service writer to answer these calls and takes away from him doing his job. I contacted them and their response was no calls can be disputed after January 2013. They have completely misrepresented themselves and are charging me money for calls that have nothing to do with my business. I asked them to refund the money and let me out of the contract ([redacted]) but they were not willing to help me out. I can provide emails documenting these erroneous phone calls at your request. I have never felt I needed to file a complaint, but this company is taking money from me without providing the service. After making this call today I looked up the company's complaint history and found hundreds of complaints against them.

Thank you,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want the money reimbursed to my account and let out of my contract - due to misrepresenting the services and charging me for calls that have nothing to do with my business.

Review: Their salesman came to my office to try to get me to place an ad in their new magazine. I declined. He suggested that I try it for 2-3 months and if I dont like it I just have to call and cancel. I agreed to that and signed a one page application on his tablet that did not specify any time period. He said he would email me a copy which never happened. Two months later I called to cancel the ad and was informed that I could not. I was told that the contract was acually 6 pages and I was on it for a year. I called repeatedly hoping that the first girl was mistaken but got the same answer. I refused to pay and now it is in collections.

He blantently lied and misrepresent the contract. They can not just add pages onto the contract after you have signed. I am so angry. It is like buying a car at a dealership and then they add on another page to the contract that says you agree to buy a new car from them each year for the next ten years!!!!Desired Settlement: I would like an apology. I would like a refund. I would like them to be made to change the way they do business and have a original signature on a piece of paper. I would like better training for their reps (if he was not trained this way). I would like to know that they do not target women who own small business.

Dear [redacted]:

Review: I requested advertising in a new magazine and was told that I did not need to sign a contract, and I never did, however after 2 months of using the adverting and getting no results I called to tell them I no longer wanted to use the service. Soon after that I received another bill, and I called again, they informed me that I signed a contract, and I did not. Then I requested a copy of this alleged contract and they sent me a document with a forged signature, that looks nothing like mine. I brought attention to this and they requested that I send my ID and showing my real signature ,which we did . They where suppose to get back with me, then I get another bill, and had to start the process all over. Now they have a collection agency contacting me for an account that was forged by there staff to sell a product.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop claiming I owe them money, apologize, and to erase this so called debt and have the collection agency stop contacting me.

SHE COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY PROOF THAT THEY SENT OUT THESE HAGER, I AXPLAINE TO HER I NEVER RECEIVED ONE CALL ABOUT THESE HANGER AND I DONT FEEL I SHOULD PAY FOR SOMETHING SIX MONTH AFTER THE FACT AND THAT THEY NEVER HELD UP TO THE AGGREEMANT TO SENT ME COPIES OF EVERYTHING IN A TIMELY MANNER. I TOLD HER IT WAS NOT FAIR TO ME TO SEND ME A BILL 6 MONTHS AFTER THE FACT, THEY DID NOT HOLD UP TO THE END OF THE DEAL WHEN I ASK TO SPEAK TO THE GIRL THAT I FIRST MET I WAS TOLD SHE WAS LET GO. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD BE CHARGED THE ANY OF THIS MESS. SINCERELY, [redacted]Desired Settlement: STOP BILLING ME FOR SOMETHING I NEVER RECEIVED. REFUND THE $100.00 I GAVE YOU OVER A YEAR AGO.

RE: Revdex.com Number:

Review: I was contacted by HIBU to continue our [redacted] Metro Edition Print advertising, via phone, by one of their Reps., Jamal P[redacted]. During that conversation, I repeatedly asked Mr. P[redacted] whether our costs were going to be the same as in 2013, and our services were the same, and he affirmed that yes they would be the same.

For our 2013 contract, I had negotiated to get our listing bundled into our agreement at no cost, which regularly would have cost me $26 per month. So for the [redacted] Metro potion of our bill, in 2013 I paid $60 per month for 12 months.

For the 2014 contract, HIBU began charging me $86 per month (they added the $26 listing cost which I had waived or bundled in 2013).

When I called to complain, I was told that there was no signed contract, but that I agreed to this over the phone. They played the voice verification over the for me, and on that recording I specifically asked Mr. P[redacted] several times that there would be no additional charge over our 2013 payments, and he said there would NOT be.

So the fact that HIBU has added the $26 per month charge is not what I agreed to in my voice contract with them, and despite my efforts to dispute this with Resolutions Representative Kayla D[redacted], I have been informed that they will not be adjusting my billing.Desired Settlement: I would like to be credited the $26 (or possibly $52 at this point) my credit card has been charged, and that my billing for the next 10 bills for this service reflect the $60 charge, not the $86.

Review: I signed a contract for print advertisement. The salesman told me the ad would be designed by their graphic design team. After signing, he informed me the ad would be made by him, and that photoshop was a "hobby" of his. I ended up personally having to design the ad. That was lie #1.

Lie #2. The publication was to go to the top 5000 residents in [redacted]. I know numerous below-average people who are getting it. It is definitely NOT going to the top 5000. One person receiving it is un-employed and married to a hair dresser.

Also, they ran my ad for months when it contained an error.

I tried to cancel my contract because of these lies, and they refuse, and continue to bill me.Desired Settlement: I would just like my contract canceled so that they stop charging me for this contract they failed to uphold.

Review: Yellowbook.com contacted me last fall to solicit advertising services to my company, [redacted]. I signed up for a print add and an online add with them. From the start, my online and print add were incorrect. When this came to my attention I contacted them each time (at least 5 times thru phone or email) that I received an invoice and tried to resolve the issue. Over an hour on the phone each time. No such luck. Finally a guy named [redacted] said even though they misrepresented my company in the add with incorrect information, I had signed a contact that only entitled me to a 25% refund of the print advertising price. This is unacceptable. I did not get what I paid for and they have told me they have no way of working with me, even thought they admitted it was their mistake, and would not refund my money or stop the billing cycle. I have talked to at least 5 people telling the same story. ALL I want is a refund (stop billing me!!) for a service I never received but am being charged for. SIMPLE.Desired Settlement: Stop billing me for a service I never received and that is MISREPRESENTING my company!!!

In July 2012, a Yellowbook sales agent [redacted] ext [redacted], solicited an advertising contract for his firm with an unauthorized agent, [redacted], a bartender at my establishment. This action occurred without my consent or my knowledge and I was unaware of this transaction until I started receiving bills for this service later in 2012.

Review: I own a auto collision business in [redacted] Michigan, the telephone number for my business is published wrong in the 2014-2015 yellowbook. I have called yellowbook about the issue and they told me that they receive all their information from my phone provider. Upon further investigation with my phone provider ([redacted]) and with yellowbook we have found that all their information for our account is accurate. The phone number yellowbook has on file for my business is correct it somehow was just printed wrong in the published book. I am sure you can imagine the impact this has on a business having the wrong telephone number published in the local phone book. Yellowbook has offered no solution to this issue even after they have admitted that they have the correct information from my phone provider and they somehow printed it wrong in the book. I am very, very concerned about the lost business for us due to the phone number being printed wrong. If there is anything that you could do to help resolve this problem it would be extremely appreciated. Thank You, [redacted]. August 7, 2014Dear [redacted]:This letter confirms receipt of Complaint ID [redacted] filed by customer [redacted]. We have reviewed the recorded call of the sale and find that [redacted] authorized the advertising in question. However, it does appear that there may have been confusion between what [redacted] meant when she referenced online advertising and what the sales representative meant. The package the customer agreed to included a listing in the print directory for which there is no charge. We find no basis to refund the payment of $21.19 that was processed. As for the cancellation, we have reviewed the notes on the account and it states that [redacted] requested cancellation and was advised that there needed to be a voice verification done in order to document the request but she refused to do the recording. Because of this, there was no way to document the request as the recording is for backup so no cancellation was processed. We have made three attempts to contact [redacted] and have left voicemails requesting a return call but have not received one. As an alternative to the voice verification, [redacted] can send an email to [redacted] requesting cancellation. Please be advised that the billing will continue until the voice verification is recorded or the email is received. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the number below.Sincerely,Heather H[redacted] Executive Services Specialist Hibu Investigations and Resolutions

Review: I entered into an agreement with hibu/Yellowbook to receive business-specific, screened calls. The salesman from hibu promised calls from customers interested in my products and services. I received no such calls. Instead, I received calls from a host of individuals looking for a sorted number of companies, none of which had anything to do with my company. Worst of all they charged me for those useless calls. Now I cannot even get them to cancel the account.Desired Settlement: I want them to erase my credit card number from their system, never use it again, return my money to me and cancel my account so I do not receive any more calls. July 8, 2014Dear [redacted]:This correspondence confirms receipt of Complaint ID [redacted] filed by [redacted] of [redacted]. We have reviewed the account and see that the customer has signed a contract for our Pay Per Call advertising. With this type of advertising, a unique phone number is placed in the customer’s advertising. When that number is called, it forwards to the customer’s actual phone number. This allows the calls to be tracked and to be recorded. Each month, the customer receives a listing of the calls and is able to listen to the recordings or each one. Since **. [redacted] signed his contract prior to the revisions of the product, he is able to call each month after reviewing the calls and dispute the calls that he feels are not valid. A review of the account shows that **. [redacted] has done this and the billing of certain calls has been waived. We will honor the customer’s request to have the recurring credit card payments discontinued. Going forward, **. [redacted] will receive a monthly statement detailing the balance that is due. However, we find no basis for a refund as requested by **. [redacted]. As for the request to cancel, the contract that was signed is for one year. The billing began in February of 2014 and will end in January of 2015; therefore it cannot be cancelled at this time. We find that no further action is warranted at this time.If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at the number below.Sincerely,

Review: To whom it may concern:

I worked with [redacted] (Client Services Representative) for Hibu to put an advertisement into a local magazine called Inside [redacted] explained to us that we could get a discounted rate for a 6 month contract with an option to opt out after 3 months when she sold us the contract for this Ad.. which would be around 900 dollars for the 3 months. Prior to publishing the [redacted] of SSI AD into the magazine I never received a proof or accepted the advertisement, however found the advertisement to have already been published. In addition, my wife and co-owner/doctor told her to cancel the AD and opt out as she had explained, but they ran a 4th month payment against our acct anyway and told us that we were locked into a 6 month contract with no way out. #1 they didn't provide good service by allowing us to approve the ad before it was ran, #2 they didn't keep the terms of the contract that were told to us in person, and #3 they took money out of our acct for services not provided, wanted or rendered. We are terrible upset with Hibu and there lack of communication throughout this process and want a full refund of all monies paid. The AD looks terrible and was never approved to begin with. In addition, nobody at customer service wanted to help either. They all act as though.. tough.. you signed.. deal with it... Also, [redacted] came by the office she said.. a couple of times to speak with me and I was not in the office and out on business... she proceeded to tell me that since she couldn't get my approval for the ad.. that she just ran it anyway. This is not an acceptable way to do business. I cannot believe these people have this kind of process for how they work with their customers.Desired Settlement: Considering that Hibu and [redacted] didn't seek our approval of the ad prior to running the advertisement about our business in this magazine.. I am wanting a full refund for the services provide and we want out of the contract. We will not do business with Hibu every again. Terrible service, customer service and experience all together.

Review: We Signed a contract with Hibu to spread 30000 coupons in 3 months. It do not works. We just received 10. We refuse to pay and claim a refund.

In January 2013 **. [redacted] from Hibu offer one coupons magazine to spread in zip code [redacted]. This spread should be 10000 per month per three months. It start to distribute on april. On may 8th we make a complaint because the company Hibu Charge 400 $ per first month but in the store we did not receive coupons of those 10000 supposedly spread it. In that moment we demand to the company proof of the distribution in zip code [redacted]. They sent us an excell spreadsheet and othe document made in word. Those are not a prove. For these reason we claim to the manager [redacted] to stop with other months distribution. The company Hibu try to charge the other two months and thay can not do it because we change the bank account (they made direct ach). Hibu call us and we ask them to make a credit for other two months because definitely we just received only 10 coupons of the 30000 supposedly spread and they do not give us any proof of the distribution. Now they sent our account to a collection company claims the pay for US$ 1062.50. We in differents opportunities tell them that we need a credit note and they tell us that they will talk we the Deparment to do it. Instead they sent the account to a collection company. We sent email to **. [redacted] and [redacted] about this case but they do not do it anything.Desired Settlement: We just want that they eliminate the collection company, call us directly and make a credit note for the amount that they said that we supposedly owe.

Review: A sales rep from the company came to my office to sell me an ad. I was not interested in an ad for his yellow book but he then told me about internet advertising. I said I might be interested in that. He was sick and in a hurry to leave and said he couldn't take the time to explain everything to me then. He asked me to sign an electronic signature for him then but that he would get back to me with the information and go over it with me before we actually agreed to anything, but if I signed now and agreed later he wouldn't have to come back again. But if I didn't want it my signature didn't mean anything. So stupidly I went ahead and signed a blank form. Later in the mail he sent me what appeared to be a signed contract for me to advertise in the yellow book. I was out of work sick for some time but when I returned I called the company to say that like we discussed that day in my office I did not want the yellowbook ads. and that a lot of what he had was not correct information to advertise anyway. They just said well we have a signed contract so you owe the money. I called back later and talked to another woman and explained it all again to her. She said she would check into it and get back with me. However, the next thing I received was from a collection agency with additional charges on it. I called the company again and they said they couldn't talk to me about it because it had been turned over to collections. So I called the attorney and he said that they said I owed the money because they have a signed contract. I explained to him that the contract was falsified because it was blank when I signed it. He said I would probably have to fight it in court. However, I don't want to spend the money to go to court.Desired Settlement: I want the bill they are sending me for the erroneous contract to be adjusted to zero. I am refusing to pay them for an advertisement that was never agreed upon and is incorrect advertising for what I actually do. I would also like for the person who falsified the contract to have some retribution brought against him.

Dear [redacted]:

This letter is being sent in response to the correspondence received on 1/25/2015 concerning the bill Mr. [redacted] received.

I’ve spoken with Mr. [redacted] regarding his concerns. Mr. [redacted] received a bill from a business called Yellow Business Book and that is not us, hibu formally yellowbook.

I do apologize to Mr. [redacted] for the inconvenience, but unfortunately I am not able to resolve the concern.

Thank you,

Response:

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me because they are not responsible. The problem is this is not the same business that I had the complaint. The phone number on the invoice will lead you to the culprit of the scam. I'm sure at some point in the near future they will send another invoice for the 489 dollars.

Regards,
