The customer states he never agreed to enroll but according to our records the customer agreed to the term and conditions of the third party verification enrollmentAs per our rates because this winter we’ve seen some of the harshest weather in yearsThe cold affected electricity generation systems, particularly natural gas, in the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast such that supply weakened and prices skyrocketed, catching many homeowners and business by surpriseRegarding our offers and rates, the rate that we offer is a variable rate with savings over the course of one year plus one free month of energy supply after months of servicesBecause our rates went up to reflect our cost, our call volume also drastically increased, but to ensure that customers are able to reach us, we have doubled our Customer Service staffWe will do a courtesy rate adjustment and reach out to customer via email of our final resolution

Good Afternoon, This customer enrolled with HIKO’s monthly variable rate with two of HIKO’s incentives – six months of guaranteed savings and one free month of energy supply after months of serviceWe evaluated his billing history and found that each month, for six months, we were lower than his utility's price to compareThis current bill is this customer’s ninth bill As stated in customer’s contract, after six months of guaranteed savings, the rate will automatically roll over to a regular variable rate with no guaranteed savings Therefore, this customer is fully responsible for the full payment of this bill and no rate adjustments will be done Part of the cancellation process is determined by the dates that the utility company gives the suppliersWhen Hiko submits a cancellation request, the utility company in turn provides the date that they (PSEG) will supply the customer’s accountThis date becomes the cancellation date for the supplier This customer's electricity account has been cancelled as of and the gas account will be cancelled as of with out penalty A copy of this resolution has been sent to this customer Thank you

I had a salesperson show up at my home at 8pm one evening in the rain, to talk about switching my provider to HIKOAfter being promised a low FIXED rate, I agreed to switch and when I spoke with the person on the phone, they also confirmed a fixed rateI received my first bill and all was as they saidWell, the next month's bill comes in and the rate has DOUBLEDI contact customer service, and the only response I get is costs have increasedI stated that representatives from their company stated that the rate would be FIXED for the first year, but they would not acknowledge the commentThey are completely unwilling to reduce the bill stating the only way they would give a refund, even a partial, is to have active service with them for months

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: We feel that by HIKO charging times more than the local company in the coldest months of winter, is simply taking advantage It is hard to believe that per kwh s the market price compared to NYSEG at per kwh And that by charging this price in the month after an estimated month, is simply taking advantage of people's useage Most people could not even get to their meters the estimated month due to snow to read them So, therefore, the next month would be more, due to the extreme weather We tried to initially get in touch with HIKO and there was not even a Supervisor on the premises, and we were told there would not be one for a few days This in and of itself is probably bringing up the cost of HIKO by not properly running the business months later, and we are finally hearing from HIKO stating that they plan to do nothing about our bill for $bill for one month Keep in mind that electric is our supplemental heat We are not satisfied at all with this company and their resolution This matter has been filed with the Public Service Commission In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

On March **, we had informed the customer about the free month of supply service and per his request we emailed the Terms and Conditions of the offerHe was informed that a bill copy must be mailed to us but if he faxed a copy we will be able to expedite the processOn March **, the customer requested a direct bill credit to be applied on his PECO Bill instead of the check refundUnfortunately because PECO has total control over the billing process Hiko Energy cannot process this requestTo this date we have not received the bill copy from the customer In order to come to a resolution we will process the free month supply offer without the bill copyWe will be sending $refund check and the customer should receive it between to weeks

Good Afternoon, We have investigated this complaint and advise that this be forwarded over to this customer's utilityPlease see below Customer was with HIKO since June We supplied him at competitive rates and his electricity bills stayed between $and $(for usage between and kWh) throughout the months, and gas bills were around $every month (for usage of to therms per month)These charges were pretty consistent until March On 314, we received a meter read from PSE&G stating that this customer used 1,therms for one month (actual meter read), compared to his last month which was only therms for the monthBecause of this unimaginably high meter read, customer's supply charge (which is based on his usage) was $1,If customer's usage would have stayed around 20-therms (which was the norm for the past months), his supply charge would have only been $I advised customer to contact PSE&G regarding this complaint, because they read the meters and are responsible for relaying the correct usage to the Supplier This account has been cancelled without penalty and returned to PSE&G on 3/**
