On 03/**/we contacted the customer and informed him of the following:
This customer's electricity account has been cancelled as of 03/**/with out any penalty
As per customer's request a one-time courtesy rate adjustment has been done and a refund has been issued to this customer

This customer filed the same complaint with the Board of Public Utilities in New JerseyWe resolved this complaint through the NJ BPU on 4/**/
We have done everything in our power to settle this with the customerWe feel that we have been compliant and at this point there is nothing further that we can offer this customer

At this time, I have not been contacted by Hiko Energy LLC regarding complaint ID ***I did however receive another bill so I would like to amend my complaint as I received my February statement and once again, the
charges with Hiko Energy are drastically more than they would have been had they not switched me over (without my consent)My combined gas and electric charges for February with Hiko were $and had I not been switched over, the combined charges with PSEG would have been $- so essentially, Hiko charged $more in just ONE MONTH than PSEG would have charged mePlease see the attached bill included in this emailI have reported them to the Board of Public Utilities and will send a letter to the Attorney General's Office as wellIf this issue is not resolved in my favor, I will sue them as well as bring this attention to the media's attentionThere is account after account of this company changing customer's gas and energy service without their consent and then charging them double or triple the amount they were paying before the change

We received the rebuttal from this customerWe had explain that variable rates increase at any moment without notice because they are subject to market conditions, in that retail prices fall and rise due to supply and demand principles on a daily basesPeriods of extreme weather, such as this unusually cold winter can cause substantial price fluctuationsAs opposed to a Fixed rate contract where the rate will remain the same for a set period of time.
As per the meter reading which was not done and of the overestimated readingThe customer needs to direct this issue with the utility company *** * ***HIKO energy does not read the metersWe feel at this point there is nothing further that we can offer this customer

On 02/**/we called multiple times and left a message on the customer’s answering machineUpon thorough review of the account, the customer enrolled on a variable rate plan with two of HIKO’s incentives, Savings up to 7% over the course of one year and one free month of energy supply after months of servicesThe rate that we offer is a variable rateUnfortunately, due to the big increase in the cost of the energy, our rate has gone upAlthough we can't guarantee savings every month, it is always our intention to do soOn a variable rate there will be times we can be higher or equal to the utility company’s rateThe variable rate is determined by HIKO Energy, based on numerous key factors, including current market conditions and climateThe accounts have been canceledWe reached out to customer by email with our final resolution

Yes, but then they should NOT have people out there telling people incorrect informationI put my trust in your company and gave you a chance, and was greatly let downThe people should not be out there writing stuff down on bills and other paperwork promising something that the company cannot deliverI still think some form of refund should be issued, and if not that there should be a consequence against the sales agent representing your companyThis is extremely poor, and your CUSTOMER SERVICE is horrendous at getting back to peopleI called so many times and never received a call backThat is disappointing and not a way to run a businessSo I want to see some form of reimbursement or termination of employee

Customer enrolled on a variable rate planDue to the increase in the cost of electricity and natural gas, our rates have gone upPer customers request, a rate adjustment was done and customer is being contacted today and will be offered a refund for the rate differences

As I explained on the phone to the HIKO representative, I do not consider this an acceptable resolution of our complaintOur contract (NJ ELECTRIC GENERATION AND NATURAL GAS SUPPLY AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZATION) explicitly states and verbatim, “HIKO will be 1-7% lower than the utility’s price for the first six months of serviceAfterwards, it will be rolled onto a competitive, monthly variable rate…” In regards to such, we still believe HIKO to be in breach of its contract with the consumerWe ask that we are immediately released from our contract and DO NOT wish to wait for the completion of any further billing cyclesWe are STILL PAYING much MORE with HIKO as our energy provider than ever with PSE&G EVEN AFTER and IN SPITE of the courtesy refunds and lower rate
I find HIKO's practices to be bait and switch advertising and unacceptable as their own contract states a variable rate will be instituted AFTER months of serviceFurthermore, our contract was signed on December **, and NOT in OCTOBER as per the letter submitted by HIKO, therefore we have been enrolled for LESS THAN MONTHSWe do not accept the explanation of the change or hike in energy prices

HIKO resolved all concerns on 03/**/Customer service department contacted the customer to inform of rate adjustmentCustomer approved

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Hiko Energy LLC regarding complaint ID ***, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Some of the issues were addressed but I asked to get a transcript of the original phone conversation which they said they reviewed which supposedly states that my wife knew about the variable rate and they have yet to provide it or respond to my request.

They are lying because I have spoken with them when they have called! I still have their incoming calls on my caller IDWhy would I not answer to resolve this issue??? Makes no sense what they are sayingI have spoken with several people and they told me flat out that they couldn't compensate me in any wayAs I have mentioned before I had asked for proof of signature that I signed up for the service and they said they didn't have anyThat's because I never signed up for it!!! They are nothing but a scam and if you look on the internet you will see a lot of complaintsSo I'm being charged for something but I never signed up for it???? Show me the proof but you have none!! If you were an honorable company you would refund me all those charges from years passed! How can you be so dishonest and start charging someone when they never signed up for your services??? I hope your shut down!
