Review: I joined How About We for $59.94 and when my subscription ended I declined to move forward and canceled my membership and stopped using the website. After 2 years they continued to charge me for a membership I had already canceled and did not use. I only was aware they continued to bill me because my Credit Card company caught the last charge as fraudulent and I had to get a new credit card sent to me because I didn't authorize the charges. I then started looking back on my statements and noticed I was being charge $59.94 every 6 months. After numerous phone calls and emails and complaining they have told me they can't help me, and that the auto-renew is something they automatically make their customers enroll in so it is easier for customers-this makes no sense at all "it's a scam to continue to exploit people for money"...I canceled my membership and didn't use it I want my money back. Balance owed to me now is $179.82Desired Settlement: Please refund the money I paid. It is not right to charge someone after they canceled a membership.

Review: The idea of HowAboutWe is great -- I love the idea of basing a date around the activity and not making things so superficial, but the site simply hasn't established the user base it needs to be highly successful.

I decided to give the site try, and read their refund policy of providing a refund within three days of the account being open. After being dissatisfied, I requested my account be cancelled and money refunded. On May ** I sent this request and have not heard back. I followed up On May ** and once again did not have any luck.Desired Settlement: I'd love to meet people through the site but it simply isn't working for me. My desired outcome is a full refund, per the guidelines listed on the site.

Best,

Review: its not the end of the world but things like this annoy me. and I dont know if a Revdex.com complaint will do anything but here it goes. when you advertise to people that they can try a service for three days free, you dont direct them to a link which asks for money and no indication of that. I have the email and the link to prove my pointDesired Settlement: the three days of membership being actually free to try the service would be nice

Review: I bought one deal through the How About We Couples site and was automatically signed up for a monthly membership without consent. In the process of purchasing the one date I bought there was no mention of a membership costing anything and there was no fee listed. I saw an $18 charge on my credit card that I did not expect or authorize.

The site does not allow a way for users to cancel their membership and there is no explicit mention of how much a membership costs. I would like a swift cancellation of my membership and a refund to my credit card BEFORE my credit card bill is due at the beginning of April.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of membership and full refund of all membership fees.

Best,

Review: I originally began subscription with this company under the website HowAboutWe.com. They changed the company web name along with the quality of their business to "[redacted]". It is impossible to access my billing information on their website, which means I was unable to update or stop membership. I emailed the company numerous times to stop the fees and heard no response.

While the company rarely offers free dates or even discounts on other dates (which is the basis of their business), they continue to charge customers and do not respond to inquiries regarding customer accounts. I find this behavior to be atrocious and lacking is good business practices. I can't imagine how many people do not realize that their cards are still being charged after they asked for an end to their subscription.

Thank you for your help with this matter!"Desired Settlement: I would like a $30.00 refund to my credit card.

Review: This company also goes under the name "[redacted]" and basically what they did was offer a service of purchasing dates with them, and they would charge $9.99 a month. I noticed I wasn't using the service anymore and decided to terminate it. The only way to do this is via email, as it states in their terms. The only issue is that when I requested to terminate my service they failed to reply in 3 instances forcing me to call my credit card company to put a stop on their charges. When I contacted my credit card they had a telephone number on file, ###-###-####, and when I called them a person picked up who was not the business. The gentleman said he has received various calls looking back for this company and that he had a number to contact them ###-###-####. When I called the second number, all you get is a busy tone. It seems very much like perhaps the individual from the initial number is perhaps affiliated, since I couldn't find a number for this company my self. It's a scheme so that you cannot stop them from billing you. My initial contact was April *, 2015 via email and they claimed the request was received, although it was an automated e-mail. They have a pending charge on my card on April *, 2015.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the pending charge on April *, reimbursed/refunded since I had notified them prior to that, that I would like my service terminated and have received no response.

Review: This website is being pumped full of fake dating profiles. I immediately asked for a refund when I felt duped. I have sent 3 emails to them with no response. They do not provide a customer service support number.Desired Settlement: Refund my money. This website is a scam and a class action lawsuit should be brought against it.

Review: I requested to cancel my 6-month paid subscription after 2 days, which was within the 3-day window allowed by the refund policy. However, after receiving an auto-generated email informing me that someone would be in touch shortly, I never received any further contact from HowAboutWe, despite sending multiple follow up emails and inquiries via their Contact Us form on their website. It has been over a month and a half, with no answer from a real person.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the $59.94 that I was charged.

This is unacceptable and I'd like to remedy the situation as best I can. I've refunded your $59.94 subscription and turned off auto-renew so you will not be billed when your subscription ends on 4/**. Please enjoy the remaining months for free as an apology for the delayed response to your reasonable inquiry.Based on your first email, I'd like to offer some advice in how to better search for a desired date. When you use the advanced search option you'll find that filters relating to education, smoking, faith, politics, kids, exercise and drinking level are all available.I hope that clears things up.Once again I apologize for our delayed response."I hope this resolved the issue.Sincerest apologies,The HowAboutWe Community Team

Sincerely,

Review: This company gave a free month, I tried it out. It's a decent idea, but the billing has been terrible. I was given an extension on the free month and my card was charged anyway. They corrected that billing mistake and I cancelled my account last month. Now, I'm receiving an email saying that they tried to bill me again and it didn't go through (because there wasn't enough money in my account, because I wasn't expecting any bills). No matter what I do, I can't get them to actually cancel my membership and stop trying to bill me, even though I have confirmation emails of my account being cancelled.Desired Settlement: I want proof my account has been closed and that they no longer have a credit card on file for me. I can't afford mistakes like this.

Best,

Review: I signed up for a free trial with the site, and during this period I asked to stop the automatic subscription. They billed me anyway, and have been unresponsive to my email asking for a refund.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund me the $28 I was charged on June *, and to remove me from the site.

Response:

Thanks you for your patience and for bringing this to our attention. On 7/* we emailed you regarding your refund, and I’m confirming that we’ve made an exception to our 3-Day refund policy and refunded the $28 renewal charge in full. As noted in our Terms of Service, all accounts are set on auto-renew unless you opt out.

Review: I was billed for their service. I have been trying to cancel my service with them, and have requested a full refund. There is no place on their site to cancel my account, even though in the FAQ it tells you there is, nor is there a place to turn off auto-renew. I tried to call the number on my statement, and nobody answers and directs me to an email I've already attempted to connect with them.

After reading enough online forums, it seems those who have gotten refunds, don't have their accounts cancelled and get charged again after another X months have gone by.Desired Settlement: A refund, and the full cancellation of my account, with guarantee I won't be charged again.

Consumer

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Howaboutwe.com regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here] - I have been reimbursed, but I haven't been given notification that I have been officially deleted from their system and my credit card will never be charged again. Normally I would assume that I won't be charged again in another 6 months, but based on what I have been reading online from other upset patrons, it seems they like to keep credit cards on file and charge again and again.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: I originally signed up for a six-month trial of this service on Oct. **, 2014 and paid $71.94 on my credit card. I made a specific point NOT to specify automatic renewal at the time I enrolled. Nevertheless, I found that my credit card was charged another $71.94 on 4/**/15 without my authorization. I have asked howaboutwe.com to remove the charge. They deny that it was unauthorized and refuse to refund the money due to a "three-day refund policy" despite the fact that I never authorized the charge in the first place.Desired Settlement: Refund the unauthorized charge of $71.94 made on 4/**/15.

Review: I signed up on Howabout.com sometime mid last year (2012) as a guest. On August *, 2012, I signed up for the one-month service option. At the end of the one month period, I promptly discontinued to use the site because I clearly understood that one month implies only ONE MONTH, and I knew this is all I would be charged for. The one month service was the advertised price that I had selected on the site, and essentially was a contract that I had agreed to, and not any of the other lengthier service options such as the 1-year option. On September *, 2013, after having been informed of a credit card overdraft notice through a fitness club I'm a member of, I immediately signed in online to my bank account and noticed that 9 consecutive payments of $34.99 each (totaling $314.19) had been withdrawn from my bank account without my authorization from howaboutwe.com. With no available contact number, I searched online for a contact email address. After finding a contact email, I sent a message regarding the monthly withdrawals that had been made on my account without my approval and requested an immediate refund. During the past week, I sent several emails requesting to be refunded because I knew I had been swindled and tricked in Howaboutwe.com’s false one-month advertisement. I clearly understood I should not have been charged on a continuous monthly basis because I only selected a one-month service option, and there were no other written text on the payment page that indicated otherwise. The advertisement clearly stated one month and nothing more. In their email responses, Howaboutwe.com made the argument that their terms-of-use protects them. However, I'm concerned because nothing protected me from being unable to decode the hidden meaning behind the one-month advertisement. It is illegal to advertise vaguely and deceive the customer with a one-month advertised price, when in reality; howaboutwe.com secretly taps in a customer’s account every month. Howaboutwe.com also claims that customers can remove the auto-renew option. Until today, I still have not been able to locate the auto-renew option. This option should have been disclosed to the customer on the payment page before the customer selects a service option. This is clearly vague, deceptive in nature – The very definition of false advertising. Another deceptive practice they engage in is that Howaboutwe.com does not even send email payment confirmations notices of user accounts. Basically, the customer remains in the dark at all times because they hide payment withdraw activity from the customer knowledge. If I had been aware that they were making monthly withdraws, I would have intercepted this situation. Also, my discontinued use of their services while my account was being charged is sufficient proof that I was deceived by their false advertisement.Desired Settlement: I am requesting $314.19, which is the total amount that was taken from my back account.

Response:

All accounts on HowAboutWe are automatically set to auto-renew, unless the user chooses to opt out. This is noted in our billing details, and in our Terms of Use. Any paid subscriber can opt out of auto-renew in their Settings, under "Account" where it says "Adjust your account or subscription settings here." This user continued to use the site's paid features until 10/**/2012, nearly 3 months after he originally subscribed on 08/**/2012. He was able to continue using the site's paid features because his account was set to auto-renew.

My problem had to do with issuing a refund due to an automatic renewal that I could not remember agreeing to. It was difficult contacting an actual person (though now they have a direct email for this), however once I did the process went very smoothly and I was issued my refund. The staff member was very helpful and understanding in the matter.

Review: This company changed its name a few months back to YouandMe concierge and that is when their customer service went horrible. I've purchased a few dates that they set up and then reserve for me. I've paid for a few and have yet to be able to confirm them as by the time they get back to me the dates for reserving them are already expired. I've been back and forth with them via email as there is no phone number to directly reach them, it has been so frsutrating with one person telling me one thing one day then another rep something different another day... I'm looking to get full refunds with interest charges as this has been purchased via my cc and no delivery of "products" have been made by this business. I know other people as well with same complaints so hope you shut them down.Desired Settlement: Full refunds for all of my purchases including interest charges since these were purchased via my credit card. Also reimbursement for the monthly member fee that they were charging me since there was lack of communication from them to me. So I do not believe it fair that I should be responsible for paying member fees when nothing was being done for me.

Review: I have contacted this company three times over the course of 1.5 months requesting a refund for an automatic subscription renewal that they did not inform me was taking place. I had no intent to renew my subscription and did not authorize the charge. The company is very difficult to contact. The only contact information available is emailing them through an online email page on their website. They do not provide a confirmation of receipt of emails and I have not received any responses to my three attempts to contact them. They charged me $72 on 10/*, without notification or authorization. I am requesting a full refund.Desired Settlement: They charged me $72 on 10/*, without notification or authorization. I am requesting a full refund. Additionally, I want them to ensure they will delete my credit card information and no longer charge me for unauthorized transactions.

Review: I have tried to call this compnay NUMEROUS times, however you can only leave a voice mail which I have done. They continue to charge my credit card even tho I have never used this service and have tried to cancel tjhis service..

I do not know what welse to do but to file a claim.Desired Settlement: I want a FULL refund of $36.00 and I do not want them to EVER charge my card again.

This automatic charge has got to stop for these services

Sincerely,

Review: This company charges a monthly recurring fee. I wanted to cancel my membership after my first month free trial, but when I tried cancelling my account online, their website said there is no online option to cancel, all cancellations must be done over email by sending an email to [redacted]. I did that before the deadline prior to the next month's charge, but received no reply or acknowledgement. My credit card was charged, so again I tried emailing them with no success. I tried emailing them multiple times over the course of a few weeks, no response. So I contested with my credit card company. The next month, I was charged a second time, even though I've never used their service after the first month. I emailed the company, no response. I contested with credit card company a second time and asked them to block all further charges. Since that time, I've been charged two more times, for a total of four total unauthorized charges. Each time, I have to call my credit card company and contest the charges and try to get them to block the company from charging me further, but somehow it gets through. I've tried emailing the company over and over, no replies. There is still no option to cancel online, the only recourse is to email them, but they do not reply and continue charging my card.Desired Settlement: I want my money refunded in full for the four charges and and I want them to stop billing me going forward. I would request some type of compensation like a credit, but their performance is so terrible and deceitful and shady that I would never do business with them again, even if it were free. This has been a nightmare!
