Huntington Beach Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Reviews (113)

Review: I went to purchase a car for $2398.00 2006 Chevy Cobalt (cash price is $500 more). To get the price of the car, you have to finance through the dealership. After they took my credit and a 30 minute wait, the sales manager told me that the dealership cannot finance any vehicles under $7500 so I would have to pay the cash price of $2898.00. When I complained that the price in the ad, he said the car would be $3999.00. Then he said I can find a new vehicle for the same payment as I would find if I was able to finance this vehicle. I left without buying the car. I was upset about the False Advertising.

As of yesterday there were 11 cars under $7000.00 that consumers are not able to get the low price because you cannot finance through the dealership.Desired Settlement: I just wanted the price of the car to be what is advertised. I have good credit and could easily finance through the dealership. I would have paid cash for the car if they would give me $2398.00 car.

[redacted] Dear Revdex.com,

Review: I purchased a car from this dealership on Thursday 3/25/15 and declined the contract cancellation option but I was charged for it anyway. I have tried unsuccessfully to give the dealership the opportunity to correct this, but they have failed to respond to my attempts to communicate with them. I called multiple times Friday 3/26 and every extension I was connected to would ring 10-12 times without being answered. I went to their website and used the chat function to explain the problem and was assured that the manager would contact me to correct this. The following morning I emailed the manager directly and explained the problem and requested his attention to this matter but three days later I still have not received a response. In addition to the $150.00 contract cancellation fee which I have paperwork showing I declined, I was charged $179.00 for NitroFill which I was never informed there would be a charge for. When I went for the test drive the salesman told me that all of their vehicles come with NitroFill and given a rundown of the benefits of having this as opposed to regular air filled tires. Since I was unfamiliar with NitroFill I asked several questions of both the salesman and the finance person regarding it's maintenance and drawbacks. I was never informed that there would be a charge for it nor was I given an option to decline this upgrade. If I had been told there was an additional cost for this I would have requested regular air filled tires.Desired Settlement: The very best outcome for me would be to have both the $150 contract cancellation fee and the $179 NitroFill charge refunded. I have paperwork showing I declined contract cancellation and I feel I was unethically charged for the NitroFill. Since I am not holding out a lot of hope that this dealership really cares how satisfied I am walking away from this purchase experience I should have the $150 contract cancellation fee refunded at the very least.

Business

Response:

The dealership will happily refund both the Nitrofill and Contract Cancellation. Please contact the General Manager, [redacted], on his cell [redacted], to facilitate the refunds.

Review: To whom it may concern,This dealer is a joke.they sell vehicles that are bad mechanically. They don't care of their customer needs and are beyond rude!My complaint is in regards a refund for a down payment of a vehicle that I had returned... The down Payment I had initially given was $1,500 When I returned the vehicle they said they were going to refund be in the amount of $1,500. The Finance director is [redacted] he gave me a receipt for the refund amount and said that the money will be instantly in my bank account, but the money was never placed back in my account. It's been one week and The finance director [redacted] refuses to give me the down payment. He keeps telling me that there is nothing they can do. that the refund was already done and if I didn't get the money that's was my problem. He is beyond rude and careless. I regret doing business with them. I am very upset due that I had already returned the vehicle and they refuse on giving me my down payment that by law they are required to refund me. I have written on paper..I am aware that it may take a few days for the refund to process but its been a week and they only tell me that, that is my problem not theirs.I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP, BECAUSE I NEED MY MONEY. & THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T CARE.Thank you for your time hope to receive your help in this desperate situation, is Christmas time and no one likes to be ripped off of their hard earned money.thank you[redacted].Desired Settlement: $1,500the amount they owe me.

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted],

Review: I recently purchased a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan from Huntington Beach Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler used cars. I was informed at the time of the sale that the Nitrofill product comes with each vehicle on the lot, and that I could not purchase the vehicle without this option, as the Nitrofill product is unable to be removed from the vehicle once installed. A review of sales documents shows that the $170 charge for Nitrofill is OPTIONAL, which was not explained to me.

I was told by the finance manager that I would be given a three day cancellation option. I asked the finance manager if there was a charge for this option, and he circled a "$0" figure on the contract (This will also be on their copy of sales records) and told me that there was no charge for this contract. A review of the sales contract shows t I was charged $250 for this OPTION. I have purchased used vehicles before, and all additional options and the contract cancellation option have always been clearly explained to me. I trusted this dealership to fully disclose all additional charges, and was told that I was not incurring any additional charges in terms of the advertised sale price.

I later learned, after reading other customer complaints and reviews, that this appears to be a common complaint regarding this dealership (The issue of hidden extra fees, specifically Nitrofill and Contract Cancellation Options on [redacted] and Revdex.com reviews). I feel that Huntington Beach Dodge Jeep Chrysler abuses these charges to obtain additional markup on vehicles. This dealer uses a computer based touchscreen to sign sales contracts, which I feel is unfair when reviewing sales contracts with customers, instead of signing actual paper documents and clearly explaining any additional charges to the sale price. Additionally, while the date of sale was 5/16/2015, all documents completed by the dealer have a sale date of 5/14/2015 (I have a credit card receipt of my down payment which shows a date of 5/16/2015).Desired Settlement: I would like for Huntington Beach Dodge Jeep Chrysler to refund the $170 Nitrofill fee and $250 contract cancellation fee.

More importantly, I am disappointed that this appears to be a common complaint regarding this dealership (The issue of hidden extra fees, specifically Nitrofill and Contract Cancellation Options). I feel that Huntington Beach Dodge Jeep Chrysler abuses these charges to obtain additional markup on vehicles. I would like for the dealership to be more honest with customers and clearly disclose what fees are optional to the sale of a car, even if it means advertising a higher sale price rather than depending on customer deception to obtain additional markup.

The Dealership will happily refund anything purchased that there is a change of heart over. Please email a cancellation request to [redacted] with a clear, itemized request of those items that are wanting to be cancelled. We will process the request immediately and make the refund.

Review: I went in on 7/22/2014 to look at a used vehichle that was advertised for sale. I purchased the vehicle that same night. I did not need financing. The sales associate knew I didn't need financing yet insisted I fillout the finance form anyways because they had to verify I was truely who I was. I asked why a drivers license wasn't satisfactory and then they stated I had to fill out finance application due to the patriot act. I was told they need to still inspect the vehicle just so that all was well to pick up. They said the vehicle would be ready for pick up by the next day. I understood I was purchasing the used vehicle "As Is". I wrote out the personal check that night and was asked by the sales associate to pull up my bank account on his computer at his desk to verify I had the funds. I refused to do that but I did show a deposit receipt dated that same day that had my balance noted. Which they made a copy of. I was asked when they could deposit the check I told them by the 27th due to a bank hold. I was told they would have the vehicle ready by Thurs or Friday at the latest. I called twice on Friday status of when the vehicle could be picked up. No call back. Then the finanace manager calls back to say the vehicle cannot be sold. The only reason was there was some mechanical technicalities. Then they go into having me come back to get me fiananced and pick another vehichle. I was very displeased that they would list a vehichle for sale prior to any inspection. I then returned to the dealership to get documentation that they cancelled the sale. A week or so later I went back to their website to see that they have listed this vehicle back up for sale after they told me there was no way they could sell the vehicle. I feel this dealership is running a scam of some sort and needs to seriously be investigated. I am concerned about my credit and personal data they have on file.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter of apology as well as some sort of complimentary service for all the wrong they have done with this. I was purchasing this vehicle for my daughter's 16th birthday and to have to go through all of this scam of service was ridiculous. It's very sad to know that there are business running with such bad practices and intentions. I feel like they do this just to get you into their place of business and want to fianance rather than accept a cash offer.

Business

Response:

The Dealership apologizes for the unpleasant sales experience and will provide the requested complimentary service. The complainant will be contacted 8/6/14 by Senior Management to discuss what happened in more depth. If immediate communicate is required, please contact the General Manager [redacted] on his cell [redacted].

Regards,

This has probably been the worst expirence I have ever had with a dealership. Bad customer service, bad pricing, just over all horrible. They didn't fill my gas tank up & said "our prices are so low, so we feel like we don't need to fill the tank up". What a stupid response. I got a Jeep Wrangler with 18 MPG for $37k and you're not going to give me a full tank? Pathetic. Then they said they were going to send me a gas card and never did. Plus no one showed me the features of the car. Then they said someone was going to call me and go over everything and they didn't. Probably the worst dealership in So Cal.

Review: My husband and I purchased our 2008 Dodge Ram truck in 2008 from the Huntington Beach, CA dealership. At the time of the purchase, Dodge was offering a lifetime warranty on the truck. My husband and I were never informed that the truck had to have a 5 year inspection at the dealership in order to keep the lifetime warranty valid. Dodge corporate office stated that they do not send out any warning notifications that you have to have the 5 year inspection or the warranty will expire at the 5 year mark. We started off getting the truck's oil changed at the dealership until one of the services employees lied and took advantage of me about the service of the truck. Since then we went to another facility to get the services done on our truck since we could no longer trust the employees at the Dodge Huntington Beach service department, therefore we had no knowledge of the mandatory 5 year inspection to continue the lifetime warranty.Desired Settlement: Reinstate the lifetime warranty on our 2008 Dodge Ram Truck.

Business

Response:

Our Company didn't own the Dodge Franchise until December of 2011. I am not sure when the falling out with the Service Department occurred but that doesn't matter. The Lifetime Warranty is offered by Chrysler, not the Dealership. When the customer took delivery of their new vehicle, they were given a booklet that outlined the Warranty and the responsibilities that came with it.

Review: Went to this dealer ship to purchase a truck. Already had an approval letter through [redacted] with a reference number. [redacted] was the finance person who informed me that this was not acceptable and he needed to submit his own application. [redacted] agreed to do a 5 day purchase contract and if I could not get my own financing he would cash the contract with the loan amount and interest rate agreed on the contract. He also said that he did not want to submit my loan because it would show as an inquiry on my credit. He agreed to use [redacted] the company he submitted and received the approval through. [redacted] did not do as promised also submitted my loan through several lenders. I have contacted Huntington Beach who has told me several lies. I have not received any loan information. The made a mistake and sent the title to [redacted] who will not do the loan because we are not members. They have told me that Ally financial has the loan who has told me they do not. Huntington Beach has threatened to show a 30 day late. I have been calling for several weeks and have not received any help.Desired Settlement: Honor our contact also some from of compensation for running my credit to several Leanders when we agreed to use [redacted].

Business

Response:

Dealership Management spoke with [redacted] and he indicated that there was communication while placing the contract. It was also determined that the file was mishandled and ended up with the wrong lender. We have not asked for any changes to the deal and have placed the contract with [redacted] as written.

Review: The vehicles door lock system has malfunctioned several times. The lock and unlock buttons stop working off and on, this has happened several times. The vehicle has been taken to David Ellis Chrysler 3 times already for the same problem, with the car currently being at the dealership for the same problem. I stated above that this is a health issue, by that I mean it poses a great danger to all passengers in the vehicle, in the event of an accident if the doors cannot unlock that could be deadly.Desired Settlement: I would like to car to be taken back by Chrysler and I would like a refund of my down payment and monthly payments.

Business

Response:

The dealership suggests that the customer bring the vehicle into our dealership for a diagnosis. We have not done the prior repairs. Chrysler has a process to communicate with them regarding product quality and warranty repairs.

Review: My transmission over heat light came on while driving the car seized up and I barely made it off to the side of the rode. I had to let the car sit til it would work again. I also had to stay under the speed limit to avoid overheating. When I took it into dodge they said nothing is wrong with the transmission. Except it needs new filter and the transmission fluid got burnt. Transmission service should be done around 60K miles. However mine had issues at 39-42k miles. I feel this should be covered under warranty. Also when going from reverse to drive the engine lags and does not respond it takes a few seconds to respond. Also the ac will be delayed to turn on by sometimes a full minute.Desired Settlement: I would like the problem to be fixed or for a new transmission to be put in. the car is a safety hazard I was almost rear ended by a semi because the vehicle randomly seized up and would not accelerate.

Business

Response:

The Dealership only advises what its factory trained technicians find through inspection and technical support available from Chrysler. Sometimes there are technical issues that require further investigation from Chrysler directly. The Dealership will happily set an appointment for the customer with Chrysler to have them drive the vehicle to check the shifting complaint as well discuss the current concerns communicated in this complaint. Please have the customer contact the Dealership's General Manager, [redacted], on his cell [redacted] to set the appointment.

Review: On 09-13-2013 I purchased a 2007 Mercedes Benz from this dealership. I paid $6900 down for the vehicle with $7589.72 being the amount financed. My first payment was due on 10/25/2013. On 10/10/2013 my vehicle was repossessed. After speaking with the General Manager on 10/14/2013 it was apparent that they were in default for the repossession of my vehicle and all matters were to be resolved by releasing my vehicle back to me and repairing any and all damages due to towing. Myself, my assistant [redacted], and their service department manager took my vehicle for a test drive before they released it back to me. I explained that the vehicle had been towed wrong by their towing company and may cause problems with the axle. Upon driving we all noticed the vehicle was pulling to the right very hard. [redacted](the GM) assured me that it would be inspected and taken care of. I was later told that the struts on the vehicle had been replaced with new ones and that the issues were fixed. On 12-03-2013 while driving with my son the front right tire pulled really hard, the tire blew out and we nearly avoided a fatal crash. It was then towed to Long Beach Autohaus in Long Beach, CA. The shop manager told me that the struts were bad and needed to be replaced. He also stated that this mishap was due to the struts and that they were not replaced but that it appeared someone and tried to bend them back into shape to fix. I notified the dealership of the problem. The service dept. Manager told me that they had ordered the part and replaced it and were very sure of it. I asked them to please provide me with that information(i.e. The sku/id Number on the part they claimed to replace), receipt, invoice, anything. I explained that if they had not replaced the parts, that I would like to receive reimbursement for having to replace the parts myself and damage done due to this negligence. Something I was told was taken care of. After several calls and emails they still have yet to provide me with this information.Desired Settlement: I would like for all the damages cost that were due to their negligence to be reimbursed. Also this would be the second time that this dealership is in default with the purchase and contract agreement provided by them. This has caused a chain reaction in a hassle of events seeing that my vehicle is the only transportation my son and I have. I use it for business meetings, lessons for my son, viewing properties and so forth. I would like some financial reimbursement to help on this part.

Business

Response:

The dealership has provided proof of the strut replacement and will be happy to provided it again.

Review: Since 9/27/2013 I have been requesting [redacted], Finance Manager, to cancel the below voluntarily coverage and he refuses to give me a credit to my account. Review: When buying at this dealership they install a gps device and put nitrogen in the tires without listing them anywhere and they are not included in the price. Once you say you want to buy the car they use clever wording so it sounds like it's included in the price but it's not, they say it's within the payment. They also told us they can't remove either one so if you want that vehicle you need to pay the additional amount. I see that as a false advertised price. If you go in there with cash to cover advertise price plus tax and license and their doc fees you won't be able to drive off in the car due to the gps and nitrogen fee. I only discovered it during the financing when the numbers did not add up. Once I said I was walking out they removed the gps fee but said they couldn't remove the nitrogen fee. careful at this dealership, I would not recommend them.Desired Settlement: Refund the nitrogen fee.

Business

Response:

The charge for Nitrogen is optional and the Dealership will happily refund the charge of $179 today, 5/30/2014, and mail it to the customer.
