This company via www.recordsfinder.com intentionally misrepresents their service by offering a hidden detailed report in order to encourage a user to pay/subscribe and then does not provide the user with the report.

Infotracer.com Response • Jun 03, 2019

To whomever it may concern, I wish to inform the Revdex.com that the customer subscribed to our trial service for $3.98, which provides a 7-days Unlimited Search Pass to RecordsFinder.com. Any data presented as a result of these searches is derived from records that are not under the control of RecordsFinder.com. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee full or accurate information for every single name, phone number, or address because publicly available information varies. Records may be missing or incomplete for a variety of reasons including state restrictions. Hence, RecordsFinder.com also provides optional purchasing of premium data as an added value to our services. These premium reports come from a different data source, which is why we require the extra fee of $18.00. Premium reports are completely optional, and customers do not have to purchase them. We simply offer them as a convenient addition to our regular services. Customers may still run as many searches as they want within the RecordsFinder.com unlimited member's area. Here is more information about Premium Reports: https://www.recordsfinder.com/features/ Our system indicates that ***'s account has been canceled and refunded on May 29, 2019. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to process. Thank you. Sincerely, ***. Assistant Customer Care Manager

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***. Please add your rejection comments below.
Business has not acknowledged misrepresenting an available report in order to urge customer to join the site, which after making the subscription payment becomes unavailable. I require an apology for this misrepresentation and the amount of my time that was wasted chasing a refund for a misrepresented product.
Regards

To whom it may concern, I have reviewed a live chat that *** had with our dedicated Customer Care Team Members, and our Live Chat Team Member expressed to *** that the preliminary search accesses a database to confirm information exists on the individual. This information is provided as reference material. Once a customer enters our member’s area, they are provided with several different search types to investigate their search subject thoroughly. I am sorry that *** feels that they did not have a good experience using our services. That is why *** has been refunded the fee of $3.98 on May 29, 2019. Thank you. Sincerely, ***. Unfortunately the business continues to misrepresent its services and the deny that the false presentation of available data is used in order to coerce users to make a payment. The data is presented as 'available', and then suddenly becomes unavailable with the disclaimer 'RECORDS DON'T EXIST', immediately after payment. The same data that was listed as available prior to purchase. This is blatant online fraud which, I believe, is intended to prompt subscription payments on the expectation that even a small number of customers who don't pursue refunds will amount to a tidy profit, particularly considering the "service" itself is essentially non-functional. The business apology is not acceptable as it refuses to acknowledge the facts of the issue, which to reiterate are: DATA IS PRESENTED AS AVAILABLE IF THE USER SUBSCRIBES. ONCE THE USER SUBSCRIBES AND MAKES PAYMENT THE PREVIOUSLY "AVAILABLE" DATA DOES NOT ACTUALLY EXIST.
Regards

I went onto the site at recordsfinder.com and and searched as a guest before I purchased the product to see the results of a lisense plate number and it said that there were results. So I purchased a 1 week trial for $4.00 and searched and it said it did not have any results, leading me to believe the site is a scam and I would like my money back.

To whom it may concern, After careful review of the complaint, I can see that this customer contacted our support team via email. Our ticket system indicates that one of our dedicated support representatives replied to this customer the next day and explained why some information may not be available on vehicles. Please be advised that RecordsFinder.com is a non-FCRA site that allows users access to the publicly available information. The reason this customer may not have been able to find any records is that some records are protected under the Drivers Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) and cannot be made public. This customer was fully cancelled and refunded on 05/16/2019. As our billing processors only requires 3-5 business days to process refunds, the customer should already have received their refund of $3.98. The customer would have received a confirmation on 05/16/2019 in their email regarding their cancellation and refund as well. Thank you. Sincerely, ***. Assistant Customer Care Manager

I cancelled and they continue to charge my card. Trying to reach them but no response. Seems fraudulent.

Out of serious concerns over identity theft, I want listings for my name & locations removed from Infotracer, Background Report 360, StateRecords.org, InteliGator.com, Recordsfinder.com, VerifyThem.org, GovernmentRegistry.org, DivorceRecords.org, Phonebook.com, and ALL OTHER people search sites that come under the Accucom umbrella.

The Infotracer REPORT #*** associated with the names of my relatives and locations where I have lived is too much information and should not be a commodity for sale to anyone. The enormous number of complaints lodged against this company as well as bad reviews tells me they are not a reputable, honest business, and in no way do I want to furnish them with an ID to facilitate my request to opt-out. None of the other people search sites I have contacted have required this. I've already tried to opt out with some of the sites and my requests were ignored.

I did a search on infotracer.com and for all people with a first name ‘***’ and last name ‘***’ and there were 0 results found. Although a return of 0 people nationwide with my first and last name does support that my information is not available for search, I specifically requested that only my record be removed from display and my intention was not to remove all '***'s. It should receive zero stars. I put in the individual's name and it immediately showed the individual, age, and related persons. So I ordered the report for $3.98. The final screen stated in order to get info on the person I would have to upgrade to a premium account. False advertising. Scam. DO NOT USE. I basically gave them $3.98 for nothing. I immediately cancelled the automatic $19+ monthly subscription that you must agree to when ordering from them. DO NOT USE.

This company and website is owned by Accucom in Boston, MA.

This company is fraudulently putting out bad information about me, and it is costing me business and revenue. They are trying to make me out to be a felon, which is completely false. I requested multiple times that they remove all of my information pursuant to their "opt out" procedure that I went through. Yet, they STILL continue to harassment online by making up criminal information and putting it out there about me. They should not only be sued for defamation, but they should also have to compensate me for the damage to my reputation and businesses.

I do know that with the security protocols on the software, you are ABLE to NEVER have that information appear ever again. Infotracer.com is distributing my public information as ' *** ' without my consent. If my public information is not removed immediately I will file a complaint against Infotracer.com with the Federal Trade Commission in addition to contacting Infotracer.com's local district attorney's office. Local district attorneys do in fact investigate/prosecute against people search web sites as evidenced by a recent case involving a large people search web site in San Diego, California where under the leadership of the acting district attorney, ***, a police investigation unit netted seizures, arrests and possible criminal indictments. Further remedy can and will be sought with the Federal Bureau Of Investigation and in particular their human trafficking division as people search web sites are widely known to harbor the names of minors within their databases either knowingly or unknowingly and therefore are open to criminal investigation and prosecution.

Infotracer.com's internet associate and/or subsidiary Chefname.com is distributing my name within their web site without my consent with a linking to the Infotracer.com web site. If my name is not immediately removed from the Chefname.com web site and all affiliated web sites including but not limited to Infotracer.com, I will file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against Infotracer.com and it's affiliates. Further remedy will be sought with the Boston District Attorney's Office and Infotracer.com's local Federal Bureau Of Investigation field office. In my initial complaint I had requested that Accucom remove listings for me from ALL of their people search sites, in addition to the ones that I had named directly. They still have two listings for me on their site ***, both in the same state. I’m requesting that both of those be removed also. Until this is done, I am not satisfied with the results of my complaint.I find it interesting that in addition to myself, numerous people who have filed complaints against this company and their affiliates, have emailed them more than once, as well as submitted opt-out forms, again, more than once, and the repeated reply back by Accucom is that “after careful review of this complaint and our online system, I can find no communication between (fill in the blanks) and our Dedicated Care Team”. They either have the most incompetent “Dedicated Care Team” working for them or think the rest of the population is stupid to believe that.

This company owns the website infotracer and they make it incredibly difficult to remove our private information from their website. The website offers very private information from all US citizens which they sell without your consent. I am a dual citizen of the US and the European union and they seem totally unaware of the new GDPR regulation (article 17) in Europe which protects all EU citizens against the abuse of their personal information.

In order to remove your info from their website, they make it mandatory to fill out a "data opt out form" which you have to send by mail. And even then it's not sure they'll remove your info. My family and I have sent the info and data opt out form twice requested and they keep reposting our information every few months. They have no respect for anyone's privacy and they make everyone's information available to any malicious actor who's willing to purchase it.

This is a scam. ACCUCOM Corp located my information. Then when I paid for the 7-day trial period, the company seemed to not be able to locate my file after paying the fee. Then the company pushes you to sign up for their premium service. This is a scam.

Accucom Corporation (aka Infotracer.com/InfoPay and www.backgroundchecklookup.com) won't let me "opt-out" of having my personal information on their site (that they sell) without requiring me to give them a copy of my Driver's License or Passport. I have completed and faxed in the request minus my government ID. (for obvious reasons) and they refuse to remove my information. Other sites like this have requested a copy of a utility bill and I supplied that information to prove who I am, however, please review their "required document" here .... https://members.infotracer.com/tspec/shared/assets/data_opt_out_form.pdf As you can see, the information they "require" is extremely invasive, could be used for Identity theft, and I should not have to provide such document to a company that uses my information for profit. I am a victim of abuse and this company putting me and my family in immediate danger.

To whomever it may concern, I wish to inform *** that we deal with publicly available information only. As a courtesy, we offer information removal services free of charge. Due to the nature of public records, we cannot guarantee that anyone's public information will not be made available again. You may find this in our Terms of Service: https://www.infopay.com/terms.php The reason we ask for identification for all data removal requests is because the ID will ensure that we have matched the correct information to that individual. We want to ensure we’re removing all the right information. However, as a special courtesy to ***, we have removed their information without an ID. ***’s information is removed, and an email confirmation has been sent on March 18, 2019. Thank you. Sincerely, *** Customer Support Assistant Manager

These people are running an online Bait and Switch scam.
Thery advertise a very low price for a background report and then once you have ATTEMPTED to find information , they whip out a VERY much higher price in order for you to "review" the report.
THAT is baiting with the low price to "access" thier site and then switching to the high price in order to get what you thought you ALREADY had paid for.
They need to be shut down and FINED for engaging in a criminal enterprise.

Infotracer.com/InfoPay associated with www.backgroundchecklookup.com won't let me "opt-out" of having my personal information on their site without requiring me to give them more information IAW Privacy Policy. However, this requirement is different and more abrasive than other data collection and reporting sites like ***, ***, ***, etc. Please refer to the attached form they require to have your data removed from their site. It asks me to verify more of my PII and supply my state Issued ID. I'm already trying to opt out to remove my information from sites like this, yet they want me to willing submit more of my PII because it is their policy.

Please refer to their "Opt-Out Form" @ https://members.infotracer.com/tspec/shared/assets/data_opt_out_form.pdf

As you can see, the information they require is more invasive and I don't trust giving my information to this company because I'm trying to remove my information that this company displays for profit.

They did email me the next day about removing my information and they were very polite and compliant. I appreciate their swift action and cooperation. I would give 5 stars for their customer service. Please let me know if you need anything else. However, I consider the manner now settled. [A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. My husband and I have requested that this website remove our personal information from their site and their affiliate sites such as ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, etc. This company has simply ignored our opt-out requests. We have no intention of providing this business with a copy of our Driver's licenses so that they have even more personal information about us. All the other data brokers honor opt-out requests without such a requirement, and it seems very dishonest for this company to require driver's licenses from people who don't want them to post their personal information in the first place.

Dear Revdex.com:
Please edit my first and last name out of the business' response. There was no need for them to write my name on their response several times when I'm trying to keep my information private.I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #*** as long as my information stays off their websites. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved. Thank you Revdex.com for all your help.

They falsely advertise items that are not actually available and forced me to pay a fee for nothing. Accucom Corp. runs a website called Staterecords.org, which is misleading in its self as I thought I was on an Arizona State website. In searching for public records for someone in Arizona, it showed several public records that were available for viewing and downloading. When I selected "View", a screen came up offering the records for only $1. I selected that, which also obligated me to a monthly fee of $4.99. Once payment was made via credit card, my initial search had disappeared and I had to I re-run the search. When I ran the very same search, there were no records to view or download. The first search results obviously was only a come on to get me to sign up for their so-called "service".

To whomever it may concern, I wish to inform this customer that the preliminary search accesses a database to confirm information exists on the individual. This information is provided as reference material. Once a customer enters our member’s area, they are provided with several different search types to fully investigate their search subject. We currently have over 1 billion records! We recommend that our customers take advantage of all searches in the member’s area. In addition, we are happy to offer free search assistance for all our customers. Our team of search experts are available 24/7 to help customers find information. *** subscribed to StateRecords.org trial service for $1. It clearly stated on the checkout page that if the customer chooses to cancel their account within the trial period, the trial fee will be the only amount billed. If the account is not canceled after the trial period, the customer will be charged the monthly billing fee of $19.95. ***’s account was cancelled on February 16, 2019. Since *** remains dissatisfied, the trial fee of $1 has been refunded on February 20, 2019. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to process. Thank you. Sincerely, ***. Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and am satisfied with the result in reference to complaint #***; i.e., my $1 was refunded. However, it still doesn't address, to my satisfaction, how their system can say records exist for someone before I pay their fee but, after I pay the fee, that there are no records for that person. Even their in-depth search assistance found no records for an individual I know did live in the area of Arizona that I was searching. So I still believe that it's a deceptive and dishonest business practice. It's the same as a car dealer advertising a car that doesn't exist just to get potential customers into the dealership. That being said, I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

Regards

Account was cancelled on 3/27/17 but my credit card was billed every month for $24.95 until January of 2019.

Infotracer.com Response • Feb 19, 2019

Additionally, customers may contact us by email 24/7 by using our contact form. It clearly stated on the checkout page that if the customer chooses to cancel their account within the trial period, the trial fee will be the only amount billed. If the account is not canceled after the trial period, the customer will be charged the monthly billing fee. I have also made a special exception for ***, even though FreeBackgroundCheck.org does not refund the unused portion of a monthly subscription of a customer's account. I have refunded a total of 8-months, Sun's account has also been cancelled on February 12, 2019. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to process Please see our Terms of Service: https://new-members.freebackgroundcheck.org/customer/terms?tab=terms I believe this resolves the issue.
