concern to our attention.  To be clear, Instant Checkmate’s Reverse Phone product does not permit consumers to receive text message history or to see the text contained in a text message.  We certainly apologize if Ms. [redacted] may have had a different impression.  Instead, Instant Checkmate’s Reverse Phone product allows consumers to identify the owner behind a particular telephone number.  For example, if you receive a text message from a telephone number you do not recognize, Instant Checkmate’s Reverse Phone product will enable you to identify who may be the owner of the associated telephone number and thus who may have sent you the text message.  Likewise, if you learn that a significant other has received a text message from a telephone number you do not recognize, Instant Checkmate’s Reverse Phone product may likewise help you to run a search on that telephone number and identify who may have sent the text message. We hope this clarifies Ms. [redacted] understanding. As a gesture of goodwill, Ms. [redacted] has been issued a refund in the amount of $65.15, as per the request in the original complaint. Instant Checkmate sometimes offers promotional membership offers. If You enroll in a nonstandard membership, Instant Checkmate expressly reserves the right to bill You, at the rate and frequency disclosed at the time of You enroll.
d) Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your membership, including any trial or nonstandard membership at any time by calling our customer support line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives. Any cancellation request will cancel Your upcoming bill.
e) Refund Policy
Our number one goal at Instant Checkmate is customer satisfaction. If you are ever not satisfied with our services, feel free to call one of our excellent customer support staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we will work to resolve your issue. Refunds are handled on a case by case basis with the ultimate goal of complete customer satisfaction.

I cancelled my service over a year ago. Every few months, they charge my bank card for a monthly fee. I have to call back and "cancel" again and ask for a refund.

Absolute garbage site which provides no real information once you wade through the process. Even worse is that they must be sharing the user's email addresses because I am now getting flooded by spam at the email address I used to register with.

This company is a scam. I used it for a one time transaction, which didn't even provide me with the information I requested (simply a birthdate), and then they set up a reoccurring monthly charge of $22.86 on my credit card WITHOUT my authorization. They also refused to credit me for the full amount of the charges. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, WEBSITE, OR ANY WEBSITE THAT UTILIZES THEM OR ADVERTISES FOR THEM!

I was pleased with the report but clearly wanted a one time service, one time fee. Ended up with monthly fee set up. This should be very clear and easily accomplished. My guess is that it is purposeful, deceitful. No way to customer support by internet - have to call their 800 number. I am done with them.
