This is so inaccurate that it is utterly unreliable.
I looked myself up. Aside from listing only two of my three children and getting the name of only one of my sons' wives, almost everything else was wrong, including the so-called aliases which were just misspellings unassociated with me.
It never showed me as having married, though I was married twice in the US, but it listed a couple of dozen possible marriages and divorces of other people with similar names who lived in places I've never lived in.
Even the phone number it showed for me was 15 years old and that wasn't ever in my name! (It belonged to another family member who died several years ago.)
The it showed three guys who'd been arrested who were 15-40 years younger than I am and arrested in states I've never lived in or even travelled to!
In disgust cancelled within 15 minutes of opening my account. I asked for receipt confirming my cancellation which I have not yet gotten by email almost an hour later. Let's see if I get one.

Specifically, the Terms of Use describe: Standard Membership PlansInstant Checkmate offers three basic membership plans. All
membership plans are billed up front for the entire term selected.For a standard 6-month membership, you
will be billed $59.16 immediately upon purchase and $59.16 every 6 months
thereafter, unless you cancel.You may cancel your membership, including
any trial or nonstandard membership at any time by calling our customer support
line at ###-###-#### twenty-four hours a day seven days
a week (holiday hours vary) to speak with one of our Customer Service
Representatives. Any cancellation request will cancel your upcoming bill. 
Our number one goal at Instant Checkmate is customer satisfaction. If you are
ever not satisfied with our services, feel free to call one of our excellent
customer support staff twenty-four hours a day seven days a week (holiday hours
vary), and we will work to resolve your issue. Refunds are handled on a case by
case basis with the ultimate goal of complete customer satisfaction.
Despite the previously stated stipulations, we
regret that Mr.
[redacted] was not satisfied with our
services.  On July 14, 2014, Mr. [redacted] contacted
Instant Checkmate to cancel his account and was issued a refund of $36.30.  At this time, as a measure of goodwill, Instant Checkmate
has issued Mr. [redacted] an additional refund in the amount of $22.86. 
Both of these refunds total $59.16,
which is the refund amount that Mr. [redacted] is requesting.  Please allow 3 to 5 business days for
this refund to be credited back to the card that Mr. [redacted] used during the time of his initial sign up
with Instant Checkmate.
Since Mr. [redacted]
has been provided a refund and the concerns mentioned in his complaint
have been addressed, we therefore consider this matter closed.  If you have any further questions or

Bought a 1 month access and received minimal info. (I personally know there was a lot more info available) Of course if I upgraded to premium member I could supposedly access more info. Bogus site and should be shut down. I want my $$ back.

I bought this to check my record. They charged me $20 once, then in order to see the "premium" report I had to pay another $20. Not all the information was correct or current. It really gives very little information and none of it was "surprising" - contrary to article I read which lead me to this site. I now suspect that the article was nothing more than advertising dressed up as journalism. This is a scam and I am out $40.

Checkmate membership by entering her personal information and credit card information. In order to complete the enrollment process, all users are required to check a box to agree to Instant Checkmate’s Terms and Conditions. Instant Checkmate’s Terms of Use, like the Billing Details and Frequently Asked Questions also prominently displayed on the website, fully and conspicuously explain Instant Checkmate’s billing terms. Specifically, the Terms of Use describe: The use of this website is subject to the following terms of use:1) Billing and Servicesa) Standard Membership Plans Instant Checkmate offers three basic membership plans. All membership plans are billed up front for the entire term selected.For a standard 6-month membership, You will be billed $59.16 immediately upon purchase and $59.16 every 6 months thereafter, unless you cancel.For a standard 3-month membership, You will be billed $44.58 immediately upon purchase and $44.58 every 3 months thereafter, unless you cancel.For a standard 1-month membership, You will be billed $22.86 immediately upon purchase and $22.86 every month thereafter, unless you cancel.If your payment for a full term is declined due to insufficient funds, Instant Checkmate reserves the right to bill in monthly installments at the rate You selected.b) $1.00 Trial MembershipIf You selected a trial membership, You will be billed $1.00 immediately upon enrollment of the trial.
