1) Billing and Services
a) Standard Membership Plans
Instant Checkmate offers three basic membership plans. All membership plans are billed up front for the entire term selected.
For a standard 6-month membership, You will be billed $59.16 immediately upon purchase and $59.16 every 6 months thereafter, unless you cancel.
For a standard 3-month membership, You will be billed $44.58 immediately upon purchase and $44.58 every 3 months thereafter, unless you cancel.
For a standard 1-month membership, You will be billed $22.86 immediately upon purchase and $22.86 every month thereafter, unless you cancel.
If your payment for a full term is declined due to insufficient funds, Instant Checkmate reserves the right to bill in monthly installments at the rate You selected.
b) $1.00 Trial Membership
If You selected a trial membership, You will be billed $1.00 immediately upon enrollment of the trial. Your 5-day, $1.00 trial will expire in 5 days. Upon the expiration of the 5-day trial period, You will be automatically enrolled in a monthly membership and billed $29.63 immediately and $29.63 every month thereafter, unless you cancel. You may cancel at any time including during the trial period. See Section 1(d) below.
c) Nonstandard Membership Plans
Instant Checkmate sometimes offers promotional membership offers. If You enroll in a nonstandard membership, Instant Checkmate expressly reserves the right to bill You, at the rate and frequency disclosed at the time of You enroll.
d) Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your membership, including any trial or nonstandard membership at any time by calling our customer support line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives. Any cancellation request will cancel Your upcoming bill.
e) Refund Policy
Our number one goal at Instant Checkmate is customer satisfaction. If you are ever not satisfied with our services, feel free to call one of our excellent customer support staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we will work to resolve your issue. Refunds are handled on a case by case basis with the ultimate goal of complete customer satisfaction.
We apologize that Mr. [redacted] was not satisfied with our services, and as a gesture of goodwill, he has been issued a full refund in the amount of $182.88, as per the request in the original complaint. This refund has been credited back to the card that was used to enroll in our services, and no further charges will be incurred.

I apologize for getting back late. I had to order my credit union statements to track when all this started with Instant Checkmate.
It looks like it started on August 4, 2013. The original debit stated from ** then in March 3, 2014 the debits came from **.
I don't even know how I may have registered and with what email. It would be either [redacted] or [redacted].
It was probably on 8/4/13.The debit card I used ended in [redacted] with expiration 06/15. I no longer have it. The total amount of $645.85 this company has taken is frankly overwhelming to me. Both my wife and I are 70 and we live on social security. My wife has multiple sclerosis and myself am a brain tumor survivor. This situation is just so wrong.

there was no offer, just the company's policy. I acknowledge it is a third party site that continues to harrass me with unwanted emails to complete my signing up for the sight. I was forced to jump through a series of hoops that were tedious and annoying, and after using a lot of time to get into the site, some 15 minutes or so, then it told me that I had to pay a fee to get my own data. so I closed the window. ever since then I've been harrassed to finish signing up. I don't know who they are but their eddress is [redacted]. they don't receive emails at that eddress apparently, as I wrote them at that eddress and it bounced. I don't know how otherwise to reach them, and they won't stop bugging me to complete sign up, which requires payment. I'm busy paying for an indefinite rest home stay for my ailing husband, I don't have mad money for much of anything.

I have also attached a screen capture where this company makes the claim there are "no hidden fees" yet their disclosure of having to upgrade their accounts to obtain a more detailed report exists nowhere else on their website. I find this very deceptive, however I do find this matter to be resolved and will instead include this information regarding this company in a consumer blog environment.

b) $1.00 Trial Membership
If you select a trial Membership Plan (“Trial Membership Plan”), you will be able to try a Membership Plan and its accompanying services for five (5) days from the date of purchase for only $1.00. If you select a Trial Membership Plan, the debit or credit card or other payment account you provide will be billed $1.00 immediately upon enrollment, and you will have five (5) days from the time of enrollment to try out Instant Checkmate’s Services under the Membership Plan. If you do not cancel your Trial Membership Plan before the expiration of the 5-day trial period, on the 6th day after you enroll, you will automatically be enrolled in a monthly Membership Plan and the card you provided at the time of enrollment in the Trial Membership Plan will be charged $29.63 immediately and $29.63 approximately every thirty (30) days thereafter, unless and until you cancel.
c) Nonstandard Membership Plans
Instant Checkmate sometimes offers promotional membership offers or the opportunity to purchase a single report or several reports for an identified price with no further obligation. If you enroll in a nonstandard Membership Plan, Instant Checkmate expressly reserves the right to bill you at the identified price and based on the terms disclosed at the time of you enroll.
d) Negative Option
BY SIGNING UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP PLAN, YOU AUTHORIZE INSTANT CHECKMATE (AND ITS PARTNERS, AFFILIATES AND/OR AGENTS) TO CHARGE YOUR DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD OR OTHER PAYMENT ACCOUNT THE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE MEMBERSHIP PLAN’S TERM, AND YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT INSTANT CHECKMATE WILL NOT OBTAIN ADDITIONAL AUTHORIZATION FROM YOU FOR EACH RECURRING FEE CHARGED TO YOUR DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD OR OTHER PAYMENT ACCOUNT. Instant Checkmate is a scam. After deciding $30+ was too much for their product, a popup says, "Wait! We'll give this to you one time for just $1.00!!" What you don't realize (and I contend is not disclosed) is that if you don't cancel within 5 days, they'll charge you over $30 EVERY MONTH!! Why would someone trying to avoid that amount once, agree to be charged EVERY MONTH?? These are small-print shysters, so be forewarned.

It is obvious from Instant Checkmate's response that they did not even bother to try to understand my complaint.  They seem to think that I signed up for their services and I most decidedly did not.  I'm reporting them for their pop-ups and malware, not any kind of services they're supposed to provide.  I continue to be annoyed by their advertisements, so the issue has definitely not been addressed.

Totally unsatisfied and a rip off. I joined during a trial period and was told to cancel by 2/29 which I did. I called on 2/29 spoke to a customer service rep who said my account would be cancelled as of that date, and NO FURTHER charges would be incurred. I checked my credit card statement today and indeed I was charged almost $30 additional as of 2/29. I called to ask for a refund and was told that I didn't cancel on time, and that at the time of cancellation the representative advised me I would be charged. Neither statements are true! I told the representative I called on time, and the representative told me I would not be charged. She refused to send me to a supervisor stating there "wasn't one!". She spoke to me like I was an it just repeating to me that I didn't cancel on time and was notified I was going to be charged and again, I told her that was false information. Again I asked for a supervisor and she just kept repeating the notes in the system, was not helpful. I told her my only choice was to report the company to Revdex.com and she said that is fine.

There is so much mis information on my report that it s ridiculous! I don't mind what is true but half of the information on it assumes things that were never true. It has me as having lived with people I do not even know and has information about two people who have names that aren't mine! What a crock.

If your payment for a full term
is declined due to insufficient funds, Instant Checkmate reserves the right to

b) $1.00 Trial Membership
If You selected a trial
membership, You will be billed $1.00 immediately upon enrollment of the trial.
Your 5-day, $1.00 trial will expire in 5 days. Upon the expiration of the 5-day
trial period, You will be automatically enrolled in a monthly membership and
billed $29.63 immediately and $29.63 every month thereafter, unless you cancel.
You may cancel at any time including during the trial period. See Section 1(d)

c) Nonstandard Membership Plans

offers promotional membership offers. If You enroll in a nonstandard
membership, Instant Checkmate expressly reserves the right to bill You, at the
rate and frequency disclosed at the time of You enroll.
d) Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your membership,
including any trial or nonstandard membership at any time by calling our
customer support line at 1-866-490-5980 between 5am - 10pm Pacific Standard
Time (7 days a week) to speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives.
Any cancellation request will cancel Your upcoming bill.

c) Nonstandard Membership Plans
Instant Checkmate sometimes offers promotional membership offers or the opportunity to purchase a single report or several reports for an identified price with no further obligation. d) Negative Option
