Or why didn't they state: "When possible we show whether or not a person has a valid SSN and a date or date range of when the SSN was issued"? I don't think they should even be providing dates of issue or approximate dates unless the person or entity inquiring has proven beyond any doubt that they have a legitimate reason to obtain that information (i.e., they are the IRS, the police, or a verified employer who is doing a background check).Instant Checkmate also responded: "xxxxx has already been opted-out of our site meaning her information nolonger appears on our websiteUnfortunately, this means we cannot provide Ms [redacted] with her personal report as requested since the information is no longer available to pull from."This is also duplicitous, as the entire reason I called and talked to [redacted] was to request a copy of all the information that was available to paying customers searching my records through Instant Checkmate so that I could review it for accuracy [redacted] was adamant that this was not possible and wouldn't even give me the name or address of the company CEOMy data had not been removed when I made this request, yet they told me at that time that they would not allow me to get a free copy of my records; then they offered to remove my dataI also doubt that they can't still give me that report since every business I know keeps backup records of their computer data for longer time periods than this.I simply do not understand how this business can think that all their disclaimers (stating what customers cannot use the information from their reports to do, i.e., to deny credit, employment, tenant screening, etc.) will protect innocent people from being victimized by con artists or dishonest landlords and employers who WILL use the info against the subject of the reportIf a potential employer doesn't hire you, you have no way of knowing on what information that decision was based; and the same is true if there are several applicants for an apartment.I further don't understand how they can be allowed to give out personal information about people without notifying the subject of the report who requested the information and giving the subject a copy of the report to be reviewed for accuracy, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE INSTANT CHECKMATE MAKES REPEATED DISCLAIMERS STATING THAT THE INFORMATION IN THEIR REPORTS MAY NOT BE ACCURATE [redacted]

The company was quick and able to take my money and then the website was down Ugh - I know they won't give me my money back - so calling tomorrow to cancel Instant Checkmate is a rip off

I immediately called and spoke w a lady who told me I was supposed to call and cancelI was NEVER informed that I needed to call and cancel because I had purchased a specific time frame of usageIn addition my experience has always been with any and all professional companies that when any money is taken from your account, you are notified via e-mail She said she could not do anything but cancel my account I truly believe this company is participates in scamming customers $ x ------- $ - minus the first month which I agreed to --------- $ was stolen from my account!
