Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and HeatingI would name them Incompetent Design Air Condition and HeatingNow going by Intelligent Design Cooling, Heating and Plumbing
My experience first started in July of and as of January 31, has not yet endedAt the time I called for service*** was the person I contactedHe was a person my brother knew from the construction industry and he always took care of me because of my medical issuesThe company came out right a way and determined the old system needed to be replacedOnce again a heart-ship being on a fixed low income*** said they had a ton unit he could give to me at a really good price because they had installed it wrong on another houseIt should have been a ton they put on that other houseThat should have been the first signIt still took several days to install, so I stayed at my daughters house
After installing the unit and a day later I went outside to inspect the unitAs it is ground setBefore they brought out the unit I asked if it would fit on the concrete pad the old unit is onThey said yesThe new unit hangs over the concrete pad it doesn't fitThen I noticed a screw missing in the cover panel as it was open on one sideThe fan on top was vibrating when the unit would run and cold air was leaking outside at the supply ductCalled *** and he had the guys back out the next dayThey had to take the whole unit apart to seal the duct work from the inside and fixed everything but the concrete pad that is to small nowAt that time they were also going to switch the heating system from natural gas to propane*** said they had to order the part and could they replace it in October before it got cold outsideI said yesAnother mistake
The end of October I call *** but only to get answering machinesAfter leaving several messages and several days going by I call the company and come to find out *** isn't there anymoreBut the guy I talked to said he remembered the deal and he would have the Field Supervisor call meSeveral days go by and I call again , The office girl said she would have the Field Supervisor call meFinally she called me back and said they would order the partI told the *** already didShe replied they received the wrong partI was told it would take - working daysWorking days I called backWrong part againThey will reorder it againSo after I decided to right a review on Angie's ListWow I got a call the very next dayJason the General Manager said he would take care of everythingHe said they would order the part and have it in two daysThe second day he called and said it would be in the next day and they would install it that dayThey did
Jason then wanted to talk about what would make me happy for all the trouble I went throughHe suggested a year service contactI said no because I was thinking of all the trouble I just hadI suggested a partial refund of 10%I thought he was going blow a gasketWe finally as he put it made a gentleman's agreement for $if I was to remove the bad feedbackHe is not a person of his word, the check is in the mail and the bookkeeper was stealing company fundsIf they hire people like that I don't want them in my house
So here is the true review which is what Angie's list is all aboutThe one I should have left to begin withDon't let companies bribe you or con you into anything but the truthWe owe it to each otherMakes you wonder how all the good reviews were achieved

We have a year maintenance agreement with Quick Fix when they installed a new heat pump for us a couple of years agoI am very please with Intelligent Design for honoring this agreement when they took over the Quick Fix customer baseI am especially pleased with the service we received when technician Neal Maxwell came out to service our unit to ready it for winterHe was very pleasant and I appreciated the time he took to answer any questions I hadI was also impressed that not only did they honor the maintenance agreement, they actually replaced it with their which is much better

I had an emergency situation where our HVAC went down right when the temperature for the week was hitting F Intelligent Design was the only company out of several that got back to me right away and had a technician at my house that same day! Unfortunately, the system was beyond repair and we ended up having to purchase a new system The sales manager came out to our house (again the same day) and we ended up finding a unit we could afford The manager brought in a portable AC unit to help keep the house livable until the work could be completed Two days later, everything was in and I have been quite happy with not only the unit, but the company that installed it

The gentle man that came was young but very technically knowledgeable, observant courteous and went the extra mile

Had a new HVAC system installed years ago The service since has been outstanding! Can't think of any other company I would rather do business with, as they have always treated us fairly and have gone out of their way to ensure we are happy with their work (and we are!!!)

He was very knowledgeable, efficient, and able to explain the need for the additional transformer

Just had my fall maintenance check for units *** was very knowledgeable, polite and thorough He took photos of the units on the roof to show me specifics about them He found an issue that will be resolved in the future when I am ready

I started out by calling companies to get estimates All are well known Tucson AC companies Intelligent Design answered the phone promptly upon my callingThey were right on time for their appointment I was pleasantly surprised that for the appointment *** the owner came out personally He walked us through the different things that would be done for the installation They took the time to teach me about things like SEER and Tonnage and what they mean to meI felt more comfortable in purchasing from them based on the quality and value of the proposed system Sales process was very educational and believableThey were out to install the system in less than a day from the purchase decision The installation went flawlessly, I was very impressed by the meticulous detail, we love the new systemThe new unit is so much more quiet than what I was used to and runs much lessI am very excited to see the savings on my energy billThank you Intelligent Design!

Our time with Intelligent Design was nothing short of fantastic! Normally, I am not one to write a review on work done at our house, as most prior experiences have ranged from very poor to just average with nothing worth mentioning However, our experience with Intelligent Design was so exceptional, that I felt I needed to provide a review so that others out there in need of their line of services can have renewed hope in the standard of service provided in Tucson
We had one of our old AC units replaced by Intelligent Design about a year and a half ago, and from that experience had signed up for a Maintenance agreement with them to monitor and check all our units and water heaters 2x a year Early in the Winter we had to undergo a complete roofing job by a different company, which was a very problematic experience They had to lift move, adjust all of our units while working on the roof and put them back Intelligent Design called to schedule our maintenance apt in preparation for the Summer ahead last week, and showed up on time, and began their review of our systems Not only did they provide valuable information on how the units were handled, and took pictures showing the issues they discovered, but also took the time to give us pictures of other concerning things that they noticed up on the roof that were not put back or sealed appropriatelyThey provided a clear list of concerns with supporting pictures to make our decisions The service people were extremely informative and helpful
Because of our AC units were very old and on the verge of end of life, the owner of Intelligent design stopped by to discuss our options and financing available should we pursue some replacements We decided to move forward with replacing the outdated units, as well as our water heaters that we have known have been on the edge of dying on us
We had a crew of about gentlemen show up for the Duct Cleaning/Sealing and AC replacements and re-leveling In addition to other gentlemen for the water heater replacement All of them were extremely courteous They took extra care with covers for their shoes, and carefully moving furnishings, as they worked throughout our home I work from home, and had minimal disruption to my day as they quietly worked around me in my office
They spent the entire day doing a very large job, but were always respectful of my husband, myself and our two dogs At the end of their work in the house, they vacuumed and dusted all the rooms that potentially got dirty by the Duct cleaning and sealing Even though they did a fantastic job of keeping things clean as they worked, they made sure they left nothing behind
Toward the end of their work here, the owner again stopped by to make sure we were satisfied with the work and go over any questions and concerns we might have had Just another example of the exceptional quality of service provided by this company
I would highly recommend Intelligent Design for any AC/Heating and Plumbing work you might have I know I will continue to use them any time I have need of their services, and have a year maintenance program with them for servicing our units for the next decade
Again, I would like to personally thank *** as well as every member of the crews that all worked in unison to provide this service for my home and my family You've restored our faith in contractor work here in Tucson
