Absolutely the worst experience ever .. and a total rip off
So the quote was for a door to door "valet" shipment from New York to Madrid. Picked up at our house on August 17, unexplained delayed scheduled shipment on 17 September estimated to arrive on 22 October. Learned by inquiry that nothing had even shipped on 20 October because there were "no boats in New York from 17 August to 20 October". Ah COVID! Ended up shipping on 26 October (so 2.5months after pick up), expected 27 November in Spain and a nice invoice of $700 for the "delay".
Then we get on this side of the pond for the "door to door customer service" .. loads of emails threatening that customs clearance will be very expensive unless we have all documents, including a certificate of residency in the house we have rented for 2 months now but .. duh .. can't live in since we are waiting for our furniture to ship . Service zero.zero and we still have no indication on when to expect the shipment to arrive in Spain, clear customs and get to our place .. but we better be there otherwise .. it will cost more .. again
I have lived in Belgium, Zaire, Burundi, the UK, Washington DC, New York City, Long Island and used professional movers every time .. Never ever had a tiny bit of a similar experience, and I have never ever thought International Van Lines was such a disaster.
Would not recommend to my enemy, even if he doesn't care about money or timing.

I have moved a lot in the past, from different states, but my experience with IVL was the worst possible experienceI got one day off to stay home as I was told they would come between 10-11, but they came around pm! The movers do NOT care about your time at allThe movers took my apartment entrance card with them, and never returned my call! More than weeks past from the pick up date (July 25th) and still the delivery date is NOT known as of today (Aug 12th)The person who they assigned to help your move, will never reply your phone calls, or emails, just like that I will never ever use IVL nightmare service again (if one can call it service)

He and his guys were greatThey were on-time, moved fast while being courteous and respectful to our belongingsYou didn't have to give them instructions every minutes on what to doThey were reasonably priced and didn't nickel and dime for small thingsWhat they said is what I paidI was looking for someone that charged by the hour and put all fees and costs in front of me so I could make a decisionThere were plenty of costly movers that wanted to give me an estimate for hundreds of dollars more with hidden feesWe moved from a two bedroom house in WI to an apartment in downtown Chicago and they handled everything well

International Van Lines is so convenient and makes moving a breezeLiving out-of-state can make moving into a new apartment hardIVL movers makes it easy to store your stuff and not worry over the summerEveryone who works for them is wonderful and make moving stress free

Love these guys so very much Will recommend them to any and all my friends, and might have to use them again for an upcoming move As nice and as courteous as possible LOVE!

I used him and his team in June this yearThey made the process so easy for usThey were polite, professional and very reasonable in priceCompared with my last painful experience, their team is just the best I could imagineFully recommended!

We relocated to Jupiter, FL from Buck County, PA We hired International Van Lines to help us with our move From beginning to end the move was a nightmare We experienced little to no communication regarding piand delivery, a complete disregard for the manner in which our furniture and belongings were packed and transported, damaged and missing furniture and most heartbreaking the loss of over years of family pictures due to gross negligence and lack of organization On our scheduled pick up day, they did not show up until after 3:30pmThe crew consisted of two guys and U-Haul trucksOne truck was already filled with someone else's belongings Halfway through the move, the crew ran out of packing supplies and moving blankets We had over pieces of furniture transported unwrapped The crew assured my husband that when we saw the pieces delivered they would be wrapped At 2am (YES, that's O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING!!!) when the truck was finally packed, the crew informed my husband that it was going to be additional $for their services When asked why, they said "you had more stuff than on the estimate" Looks like extra boxes and one car seat equals $ (I have asked for an itemized bill but have still not received it.) Moving on to delivery day They were scheduled to come between 8am and noon At 10:am we still had not received a call regarding their ETA so I call them One of the guys on the crew called back and asked "Is it okay if we come tomorrow? It's raining here" When they arrived the next day, the crew was making comments that whoever packed our things did a terrible job and that several items were unwrapped One by one we watched as our damaged belongings were being wheeled into the houseBroken, chipped and scratched furniture everywhereWe are missing a dining room chair and the legs to our kitchen table We had wine glasses packed under pots and pans and my favorite...A MIRROR PACKED UNWRAPPED IN A BOX WITH DUMB BELLS!!! When I contacted International Van Lines to file a complaint, a gentleman called me back asking me to email him with the details and he would see what he could do He said that he saw that we had insurance so that was good He also asked that I not post anything on social media until he could process my complaint When I followed up with him over a week later, he asked me to please be patient because he deals with 100's of customers a month Two days later he replied "After reviewing everything with my team, we can offer you $500, if you are willing to sign a nondisclosure agreement." There was no mention of what they were going to do to find our missing items or the itemized receipt that I requested That my friends, must be why I did not find many negative reviews for International Van Lines when I did my research I did not respond to their $offer in hopes that I can help someone in the future when they are researching their upcoming move

He and his crew finished moving us from Florida to New York and I wanted to let you know that we were very satisfiedYour guys were careful, professional and very cooperative

IVL was hired to move the larger items of furniture and appliances approximately miles to a new residenceA crew of four arrived on time and were professional and courteousThey worked with us to include even last minute additions and did quality work without breakage or any issues whatsoeverThe crew we had were experienced and it showed

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.No one has contacted me from Aerus The only person that I have talked to regarding this complaint is the local representative [redacted] .As I have stated before, [redacted] is not a liscensed installer His work is subpar and he takes too long to do a simple job He does not have the skills or the necessary tools to do the job correctly I have given you some pictures of his work If you need more I can send you all the mistakes that are very apparent in our installationI want a liscensed installer to complete the job and correct the work that [redacted] did I think that Aerus should pay for the repairs Regards, [redacted]

International Van Lines is a great moving company! The inventory list on the website was easy to use and I received a quote in hoursI spoke with him who was very helpful and answered all of my questionsThe movers met me at the storage unit on June 25th and was had extra protective covers on hand to make sure nothing would be damagedThey were super friendly, fast & carefulI highly recommend them to anyone looking for good service and reasonable moving rates

I would like to commend your employees for being such professional young menThey were pleasant and courteous and hard workersThey are dressed nicely and neatly and commenced with the job in a thorough mannerI would highly recommend your firm to anyone

On the day of the move all the movers showed up promptly in the morning and got right to workThey spent one full day disassembling and packing the furniture, and the following day was delivery and installationI was very impressed with everyone involvedThe office staff was friendly and polite, and the movers were fantasticAs stressful as it is to move offices, I can most definitely say that IVL makes the experience much more enjoyable

I'm not quite sure where to start with this reviewThe short version is as followsMy wife and I paid IVL over $7,to move us from New Jersey to IndianaWe were told that the movers would wait to deliver our items to the destination until we arrived a few days laterThe next day, I received a call telling me that they were going to deliver the items the following day, with or without us Since we were not present for the delivery, the movers were downright careless with our itemsMany hard plastic boxes were broken, and virtually all of the cardboard boxes ended up in terrible shapeSeveral pieces of furniture were also destroyed Furthermore, the movers ignored our request to spread the items across the storage unit so that they would be easier to accessWe had arranged for a unit that was roughly twice the size that we needed in order to make this task easierIn spite of this, the movers stacked our items haphazardly on top of each other, with furniture piled on top of fragile items, all the while leaving half of the floor space unusedWe had to hire local movers just to rearrange our items in such a way that we could access themThose movers said that the way that the IVL movers had arranged our items was "scary" and felt that their behavior was downright dangerous When I voiced my displeasure to the company, I was initially ignoredOnce I was finally spoken to, the manager attempted to intimidate me into accepting an appallingly small sum of "hush money." He assured me that their lawyers would bully us into either accepting a pitifully small settlement (and signing an agreement preventing us from telling anyone about our horrifying experience) or take them to court, which he assured me would be stacked against us My conscience prevented me from taking the dealI felt obligated to let others know about our horrendous experience, in the hope that future customers will be able to avoid this miseryThis is not a company that can be trusted to handle your belongings, and it is not a company with enough integrity to fix their mistakesDo not, under any circumstances, entrust your possessions to them

I would like to pass on my thanks for a great move and great teamI have moved several times in the past and memories are not the best, but our latest move with IVL was a pleasure! I am satisfied and I will recommend you to all the people I know

Buyer beware IVL is not a van line They sub everything out, and the customer has no control over who they hire For our move from SF to Austin, there was little to no communication on contracted movers until just a few days before p/u P/U went pretty smoothly, no complaints However, the subcontracted company (XO Movers) have poor customer service, and used a subcontracted Owner/Operator out of DC This Owner/Operator used CRAIGSLIST to find muscle for the unloading One fella was essentially homeless, traveling from town to town picking up odd jobs Spend a little extra, and use a company that sources internally for staff, or gives you options on sub contracted staffing Not impressed IVL is nothing more than a few folks sitting in a desk somewhere collecting money

Thank you for your message and please accept my apology for the delay We have been trying to work through the local Aerus franchise dealer to get your concerns addressed, but unfortunately have not been very successful at the local level We have forwarded your information and photographs to our Risk Management office at our corporate headquarters They responded yesterday that they would most likely be able to assist in addressing your concerns and getting this resolved through our insurance company They have asked that you please get a written quote for us from a qualified installer of what it would cost to fix the problems you have documented with your central vacuum installation If you will please forward that written quote to me I will see that it is given to the appropriate person and we will hopefully be able to resolve this as soon as possible.In one of my emails with [redacted] he mentioned something about the pvc piping under the house needs to be glued, so you should have that looked at and if it is needed, have that included in the quote as well.Again, I am sorry for the length of time this has taken so far, but once we have the quote, hopefully we will be able to quickly resolve the problems.Thank you[redacted] ***Manager,Aerus Customer Service

Very bad service!!! No response at all by this company...very bad service!!! Please be careful of this company, their will hold your shipment & need you pay extra money >$on top of original quote to get back your household Don't trust this company !!!! I have a very bad experience on this company !!!!
