On or about August I checked my credit report and saw that was an reporting for SC Electric & Gas which states was charged off in the amount of $I sent SC Electric & Gas a letter USPS Certified Mail informing them that I saw this account on my credit report, and that I dispute it because it is not minesI received an response back from SC Electric & Gas basically stating when the services was provided and amount dueI sent a second letter USPS Certified basically stating they need to provide proof that they is my debt, and that this account is fraudI also provided them with my lease to show I never lived in the listed service address: *** *** Ave ** *** S.CXXXXXI informed them that I lived in Atlanta, GA for several years now with my husband who is an investigator here in Georgia

I contacted company to have power reactivated and after agreeing to only pay reconnect fee to have done no question the next day, electricity was not turned onArrived for closing of my house sell Friday and discovered so called and spoke to manager who said would have turned on by that afternoon but again did not activate

Fine print error in SCE&G water heater repair plan product
I have been paying SCE&G $monthly for a warranty in the event of a hot water heater failure I found that my size heater (gallon electric ) was not covered The fine print stated that coverage was up to a gallon tank The service repair man (Plumb Pros of ladson SC )was quick to give me a fifty gallon unit but I would have to purchase $in additional items to make this work I requested them to install a gallon unit to find that this size is also not available SCE&G was quick to offer all of my premiums refunded , but I still have a water heater problem which I would like replaced with a sixty or eighty gallon unit THANKS

Extremely high electric bill

Making me responsible for a bill that's not mine
This company is making me responsible for a bill that's not mineMy girlfriend had her own apartment and she had this 4K bill with themShe then came to my house and when I fell behind on my bill they came and disconnected the technician seen her and reported that she is living with me when she wasn'tMy service got disconnected and I paid it off in full to reconnectHad my service for a little while and then this problem happensNow they put her bill on my account and they making me responsible for her bill and disconnected my service for her billThey told me that I have pay them 1k before they reconnect my service and then they said once I do that they can work out some type of payment plan

Sept3rd I called SCE&G & told them electric wire was down to my street light Oct4th, no change & I'm still being charged operate street light
On September the 3rd, I called SCE&G and told them a storm had brought down a wire which feeds a street light October 4th, I called SCE&G to get an update to see when I could expect it to be fixed (on the SCE&G message machine, it state it takes up to business days to fix a street light) SCE&G representative I spoke with said since I was under contract I would have to trim my trees before street light could be fixed However, I am not under contract with SCE&G I stated if SCE&G couldn't fix the light to take the charges off my bill and I would provide my own street light SCE&G representative stated she couldn't take charges off my bill nor could she remove where I'm being charged every month from my bill

There was a time when the customer service was greatNow, it's not so greatThe representatives are not empathetic to say the leastIf you are having a minor financial setback and need a few additional days to pay your bill beyond what the online system gives, please don't expect SCE&G to careI was given a date online to pay, but needed an additional daysI called SCE&G to see if they would extend the courtesy of giving me the additional days and was immediately told noI've worked in call centers all of my life and there's always a way to extend dates beyond what the online system would giveIt's just a matter of punching a few buttonsInstead, what you get from SCE&G issorry, whatever date the system gives is what you'll have to go withI usually don't write reviews, but as much as this company hikes up your rates, seems they would be glad to work with customersBut it is not the case

Their payment system charged me a dollar fee for a 'bad check' when in fact it should have informed me when that was not correct twice
