I cannot begin to explain how poorly I have been treated by this company. I was a loyal customer for over 2 years. They sent me a notice to refer and wanted to up my per therm rate substantially to a price which was no longer competitive. So, I decided to switch providers who could offer me a more competitive rate. Just Energy sent me a notice saying that if they did not hear from me about the new therm rate offer, I would AUTOMATICALLY be put into another 12 month contract (THIS CANNOT BE LEGAL). To avoid being automatically put in a new contract per their letter, I called them to notify them I would be SWITCHING providers to one that could offer a more competitive rate.
BIG MISTAKE. The representative informed me that in order to not be automatically put in a new contract, I would have to say I wanted to cancel service. I insisted that I did not want to cancel service, I was just TRANSFERING service to a new provider. He told me that I would have to cancel to avoid being put in a new contract without my consent (HOW IS THIS LEGAL?). I told him I just needed to not be put in another contract with his company, so whatever he needed to not enroll me in another 12 month contract.
Flash forward to when my service was supposed to start with the new provider- I learn that INSTEAD of the SEAMLESS transition of providers I was promised, Just Energy had ERRONEOUSLY put in to have my service cancelled, so my gas was SHUT OFF. I worked with my new company to have this resolved, and they said the only thing they could do was send out the gas company to turn it back on, in 5 DAYS.
Just Energy sent me a final bill and I contacted them to explain that I thought it was unfair to be charged the amount of the final bill when I had to eat out for 5 days when they erroneously cancelled my service when I was trying to transfer service only (spending over $200 more than the measly final bill amount). They have been giving me the RUN AROUND about this for over a month now.
Currently, this is my 4th call about this final bill and I have been on the phone with Just Energy for OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF and was on hold for ALMOST AN HOUR OF IT.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT sign up for service with this company. They are CROOKS, LIARS, AND *** WITH AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

If I could zero stars I would. Amigo energy never answers the phone, the send out disconnection notices on paying accounts, they wait weeks to charge you for your bill... I have had amigo energy since 2012 since 2015 it has turned into a nightmare.... I hate this company. Cant wait to get away from these lying inconsiderate thieves. My daughter came back from ICU I needed the electric to stay on in one location and start new electric at another over a 3 day period all of her meds were in the house and at the time we had an all electric smart home.... I was locked out of my house for over 4 hours in Houston heat in june 2017 without her meds..

We have attempted to contact this customer but have had no success. We have reviewed this customer’s allegation. Disconnection notices are sent when customer’s payments are not received by the due date noted on their monthly billing invoice. We show no delays with this customer’s billing invoices being issued nor has she advised Amigo Energy that she has not received them timely. We have spoken to this customer numerous times to service her account. Most recently, the customer had a billing/payment concern. She was advised that her account billing was up to date. We value our loyal customers and wish to maintain our relationship with this customer. If she does decide to leave Amigo Energy, her Early Termination Fee will be waived if she contacts Amigo Energy prior to switching to another provider.

This energy company customer service is very poor. They use foreign national that are hard to communicate in English. When you ask them to transfer you to USA they hang up on you.
They are using people from Panama, Columbia, etc.
They do not even process your payment and send you threatening notices.
I have been their customer for over 10 years and in the last two years their service has deteriorated significantly.
When you log into your Tara energy account they provide you with a customer service that goes to some reward place and they cannot help you.
The talk about how great their customer service and yet their website does not even give you the correct customer service telephone number.
Also they raised my rate from about 8 ents to over 12 cents.

We apologize for this customer's negative experience with Tara Energy's customer service. We strive to provide an outstanding customer experience with every customer interaction. After speaking with the customer regarding their payment concerns, it was discovered that their payment was sent to an incorrect address. This has been resolved. The customer renewed their agreement in June of 2018. After being advised of this, we worked with the customer to change their plan to one that better suits their needs. We apologize for any inconvenience experienced by this customer, but we have worked to address and resolve all of their concerns.

did the same thing to me this month as the complaint below. They have always sent several letters and made phone calls to inform customers when it was time to renew contracts, but this year I received ONE email a month prior to the end of my contract (it went to my spam folder, of course), then received a bill for $645. My usual bill is around $100. Essentially, they increased the cost of my energy service from 9 cents to 21 cents. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years and never missed a payment, but when I called to try to remedy the situation by renewing and reassessing the previous months bill I stayed on the line for over an hour only to be told there was nothing they were willing to and my request to renew and re-as was denied. This company has renewal practices that are designed to make your renewal date mysterious so that they can charge to insane variable fees. Do not use *** Energy. I will be pursuing legal options regarding this bill.

We previously have spoken with the customer and regret that they had a negative experience with Amigo Energy after their fixed rate agreement expired. A renewal notice was emailed to this customer, but the customer states this was received in their spam. Unfortunately, Amigo Energy has no control over the customer's email filtering preferences. Although the customer is no longer an Amigo Energy customer, we value the relationship held and are willing to set up a payment arrangement to pay off the customer's final balance. We attempted to contact the customer, but we were not successful.

They do not care about their customers. I have been a loyal client for 6 years and 2 months and I wish I could take back every cent. I gave them everything they asked for, access to my account to make automatic withdraws, I opted in to their "lets save the trees" BS and opted for their e-billing. They didn't advise me that my contract was up and raised my price from .08 to .24 and when I called them on it they refused to rerate my bill. I refused to sign a new contract with them until it was fixed but one of their agents suckered me into doing it with a promise of a phone call from management to rectify the problem and all I've gotten is my lights cut off, not once but TWICE! My kids get home from school today, it's 30 degrees outside and they have no electricity. I am at work, an hour away. They do not value their clients at all and will not right their wrongs. I suggest you go with a company that has a better track record. They are GREEDY and I will not be giving them another cent.

We regret this experience which falls well short of our standards and expectations. We certainly regret any inconvenience caused.

I would give no stars if possible. I was with Just Energy for YEARS and because I didn't renew my contract in time (my fault) they raised my KW hour from 9cents to 24cents. They did not call me or try to contact me in any way. I opened my electric bill to $810.00 it went up $320 in one month. They would not budge so I had to pay it or have it ruin my credit. How can this be legal ?

Just Energy opened three accounts using my social security number which are fraudulent - my identity was stolen. I’ve called 5 or 6 times to be given mis-information, no information, and customer representives refuse to escalate my calls to a supervisor. I’ve been given numbers to a collections company that has no record of my account and a number that wasn’t collections, but a recording selling Medical Alert. I have a police report, proof of address during the time that the accounts were opened (I’ve never lived in the state of TX where service was set up), and proof of identification. This company will not do anything to resolve issuing service under my identity that I did not authorize.

I had an account until today with Just Energy. My bill sky-rocked over last few months and is double last years bills so I called to investigate and I was told my rate was a monthly variable rate (August 18 rate 20.2) because my contract expired. I had no knowledge of this was never notified and further my bills have not been view able on their website. I cant see bills nor could I find the rate I was paying nor could I eliminate the auto pay feature as the website does not allow edits. I explained their website link to current and previous billings does not work but they were not interested in hearing this. I thought that someone was stealing my electric or the air conditioning was in need of repair turns out they were responsible. They state they notified me last November about my January contract expiration but I never received anything from them. They offered a 127.00 credit for August but this was unacceptable as they overcharged my approximately 800.00 in the last four months alone. I asked the rep to contact supervisor and requested a 300.00 credit to resign and they refused.

DO NOT USE JUST ENERGY!!!!! I just switched and was told my bills would be lower, they would pay my cancellation fee of $150.00 and the credit will show up on my first bill and that I did not have to do anything. Very misleading reps at the ***. I asked lots for question and was reassured over and over my bills would be lower and I would be saving money. Boy was that wrong! My bill was double and the cancellation credit is not just added to your first bill. First to start off I never got my first bill but received a disconnect letter. When I called to inform them I did not receive my first bill is when I found out that the cancellation credit is not just added to your bill. You have to send in a copy of your prior company's bill showing the cancellation fee. Remember I was told by the Rep at the *** that I did not have to do anything. It would just be on my first bill. So I emailed them the copy of my bill but it came back because she give me the wrong email. Called back was again given the wrong email. I told them how deceived I felt and that I was going to cancel. They said they would waive the cancellation fee and also issued my cancellation credit for changing in the first place. Today I called because I got an email that they needed more info from me. Now I was told something totally different form my call to them the day before.
about cancelling service. I was now told I could not get that credit since I cancelled my service and I would have to go to *** to get a refund from them. WHAT! that was not what I was told when I called to cancel. She was going to put in a complaint ticket and I HAVE TO CALL BACK IN 48 HOURS TO SEE WHAT THE RESOLUTION IS GOING TO BE. That's crazy why wouldn't you call your customers back regarding the resolution. I am already very dissatisfied so lets make it worst by asking me to call back to find out the resolution to my complaint! If I could rate with - stars I would.

Just like others promised to lower our bill and use more green energy. Switched us to an unlimited plan which just about doubled bill then had 40% higher fixed rate than others when I switched. Will not refund for the first month. Waiting to see if I will be billed for a termination charge. They told me on phone no, but I don't know if I believe them.

Just Energy disconnected my service for the sum of $0.52. I had a past due balance of 52 cents and they sent a service order to *** light to disconnect my service. My service was disconnect on July 5th, 2018 and I can not get the service back on until July 16th, 2018.
It cost more to run the gas through the line than my bill. My gas bill should be less than $30.00 but the cost to run the gas is $25.00 plus all those taxes, which bring my bill to almost $85.00 to $100.00 per month. Don’t let it get cold that bill go from $30..00 to $350.00 or more per month. This should be my money since I paid to run the gas line to my house. And this company do not work on the weekend.
This was Georgia big mistake to privatize the Gas Company, and let them charge what they want to the public. I think I will go to total electrice; at least I will not be charge for power running through the line.
This company is more about the money then the service to the customer. They turn all service call over to *** Light. Just Energy do not have the ability to repair anything that happen on the gas line, they must call out *** Light or 911.

Absolute worst energy company on the market. Extremely long wait times on the phone with no one answering the phone. No returned emails or calls. No help whatsoever with account or payments. False advertising. Horrible organization, horrible professionalism. Been a customer for 2 and 1/2 years and would think being a customer this long that things would have changed. This company should be out of business.

Stay away! I was switched to these crooks when my old provider folded. I called on several occasions to inquire what my rate would be, what rate I could move to, ANY information but I was met with a wall of incompetence either by poor design of systems or deliberate (greedy and crooked) choice.
Come to find out my rate had more than doubled from my previous provider! And was about 30% higher than a market rate that I found with a different provider.
Now that I have an egregious bill I’m met with the same level of incompetence and apathy.

I was enjoying this company till they tried selling me an ecobee the ecobee didn’t work I called customer service several times and no help won’t give me a new product they want you to call ecobee no one ever calls back this has been a very upsetting experience altogether

RUN FROM THESES PEOPLE. tell your elderly neighbours or parents. these people are ripping off people. the Gov't MUST CANCEL all these CROOKS from setting up shop.

I signed up for electric services through this company for my small business with the understanding that if I needed to exit/change providers I would not be penalized. I switched providers because I was being charged and ungodly amount for a *** delivery fee. I only used 12.00 in electricity and was charged 75.00 ***. I called and spoke with a rep who said they would listen to my recorded call and call me back. I NEVER received a call back. Very poor customer service.. sooo. when I changed providers they just sent me a bill and are charging me a 295.00 exit fee on top of a 75.00 *** for not much electricity. I understand Oncor has set *** fees but they are ripping people off by multiplying the *** charge... Tried calling today to settle the exit fee and was on hold wayyy to long. still nothing done. Worst customer service.

I have been with Just Energy for years because I have never had issues or any spikes. Customer service is usually good as well. I love that they have a rewards program now because it is encouraging. I plan to renew again for another 12 months due to great service.

Just Energy got me.....back in January I call MY electric company to open a separate account for an RV I even have the Acct. #. I remember getting a call in Feb assuming it was my electric company to start my new service. I even said "my sister is an associate and I want this account through her." Which she is an associate with MY electric provider. So I start getting a bill from Just Energy and I just thought ok they are a part of MY provider.....wrong they ARE NOT. So I call them and the smart *** person starts telling me well we have voice recording from you calling in and you signed a contract with a witness. ok yes its my fault I NEVER read the contract nor did I notice it was from Just Energy the man just kept saying " ok click this and sign this and click here and sign here" I got scammed GOOD!!!! AND THEN I JUST READ IM IN A CONTRACT WITH THEM UNTIL 2023!! ***??

We have reviewed this account information and confirm that Just Energy was clearly identified in the enrollment call. However, we accept the customer’s belief at the time that she was speaking to another provider. We have since spoken to the customer and have worked with her to facilitate an exit from her contract without penalty or service interruption.

I tried to report this businesses practices a couple a months ago but was told I could not because I am not a customer. I am still not a customer but I still want to submit a review. They came to my apartment again and got very offensive when I pointed out their 94% negative reviews on the Revdex.com website. They are harassing. Almost all of my neighbors have also asked them to not come back to the neighborhood because they are coming to A non-solicitation area.

Revdex.com can't be trusted anymore, B+ for a 94% negative rating. Just Energy fraudulently misrepresented their services in person with a door-to-door sales person. Guy told me explicitly that they could provide unlimited gas usage for ~$15/month because of volume purchasing on their behalf. I told him it was too good to be true and that I would look it up afterward, he assured me I had plenty of time to cancel if I wanted to. Right after I looked it up, it's obviously a scam AND they only give you 3 days to cancel in the contract. I emailed to cancel with all applicable information and even though they statethey reply in two business days I have not heard ANYTHING back yet. I called in before the third day and it looks like they never processed my cancellation and would not have had I not called.
This tells me multiple things:
1) Just Energy is a scam that trains their salespeople to use fraudulent tactics and explicitly lie to get people to sign up.
2) Their cancellation system is set up to catch you off-guard, giving you a narrow window to cancel and promising email correspondence that they do not even follow, leading to people signed up beyond the cancellation date***
4) Just Energy doesn't look to care about anything, so long as they keep getting signups.
I recommend everyone affected write their state attorney general, as this is obviously fraudulent behavior.
