This company is a big joke.
This company is a big joke. I signed up for their $19 lawn service for the first mowing. I was aware that they would raise the price based on seeing an overgrown yard. During the course of this request, I was given about six different dates that they said they would be doing the service. After almost a week, they told me the first service would be $158! At one point, I looked on my account and they listed $46 for the first service. Then I kept asking them when they will schedule it, and the dates kept changing, I received at least 10 different communications in the forms of email and text. Then when I didn't immediately accept their new price, they canceled my account so I couldn't even message them again. Stay away from this company unless you enjoy the nightmares that I have experienced.. I also noticed lots of negative reviews here on better Business bureau. Again, do not use this company!

Had them before, should have looked at the reviews before trying them again! Scheduled my lawn to be mowed and edged. Lawnstarters cancelled the person who was supposed to mow and edge and bumped me until they found another service to care for my lawn. Three days later another service was scheduled to mow and edge, they never showed up, so almost a week and a half later they find me another service. I needed the lawn taken care of before a certain day, this service could not be scheduled any earlier and would be here 2 days after I absolutely needed my lawn mowed. I cancelled for the current schedule and asked them to pick it back up on Oct 02. Well this lawn service showed up the day it was already mowed, HELLO!! I had them edge and they told me they would get me a credit on my account since all they did was edge the lawn, well after edging they tried to charge me an extra fee for clean-up, and then the next day they marked the mow as complete and charged me the full amount of services. I have cancelled ALL services with Lawnstarters. They give wrong information, they do not show up, and they overcharge for services not completed.

I am disgusted with this service. Error made on their part. Did not fix it. Now it's raining and my lawn has to go another week without care. I waited since last Thursday for service.

I paused the lawn service till spring and someone still came out and mowed my lawn after I called customer service to inform them of what happened they stated they did not see where the service was paused and I would still be charged it’s not fair my grass didn’t need cutting and I had paused the service but customer service didn’t care

Set up lawn service. Technician came out Friday did a horrible job looked as though my lawn was not even done at all. Left a mess did not clean up. Tried contacting customer service several times being told I would get a call back never received one. Finally after two days was able to reach someone saying they would not cancel the charge that they received photos that the service had been performed. My yard looks terrible worst customer service ever. Extremely unprofessional to argue with a customer and refuse refund for terrible service. I will never use this company again. I do not feel like I should be charged for the terrible service received.

LawnStarter damaged or property. We want them to fix damages. Video and proof of damage submitted as well as quantity of damages. Lawnstarter has denied claim for damages and cancelled our account. Without fixing the damages caused by lawnStarter. Based on their app options on how to submit claims and to follow the process we have done so and have not gotten our property fixed yet.

I'd give them a -5 if it were possible. After receiving not asked for texts I thought I had signed up with their Rep last Tuesday for a mowing tomorrow, Friday. I called today to confirm tomorrow and they have NO record of my address, name, telephone #, or email address!
The person I spoke to today has a shoe size number larger than her IQ, and apparently so does the person who supposedly signed me up on Tuesday.
Oh yes, and a manager was too busy to speak with me today ... probably overwhelmed with complaints!

I loved the idea of being able to arrange lawn services through my app. We usually mow our own yard, but with a new baby and during the summer heat, it was difficult. Both my husband and I had increased work hours and stress from COVID and we were trying to make our lives easier. How wrong we were!

Let me assure you, I have made a lot of mistakes in my life and using LawnStarter is going towards the top. First, you can choose your preferences of how short you want your grass cut. I chose the shortest option. I got the equivalent of the split ends trimmed from my hair. I said I was displeased and they gave me a $15 credit.

You also have to agree to 3 mows. It sounds optional, but it is a contract. I asked them to come back sooner because the long grass was driving me crazy. The next people that came out did an ok job. It was finally short. They missed some spots, but ok. For some reason, my next mow was scheduled for 3 weeks out even though I chose a biweekly schedule. I noticed and have tried for a week to get a mow scheduled. No response from either the crew or LawnStarter support. I only got a response after Googling a phone number because that number is nowhere on the app. I have been told 3 days in a row now that someone will be out. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

If you are someone who cares about how your yard looks and do not want to feel like you are tramping through underbrush when you walk through your yard, please choose anyone else. I hope I can save others the frustration I have been experiencing for the last 6 weeks.

Lawn Starter has charged by VISA debit card unauthorized and for work not performed for the amount of $47.62. I have tried to reconcile with Customer Service to resolve this issue but they are reluctant to reverse the charges.

I cannot believe the rude, unprofessional behavior of my mower. Last week, he did a very poor job of mowing my mother's yard. She did not say anything to him at the time, but later requested a credit through the company's messaging app (which they did not honor, but I digress). This week, he did an equally poor job, so she asked if he could mow near the deck and the side of the house, since he had missed those areas. He told her no because his mower doesn't fit there. She asked if he could use the weedwacker instead of the mower on that area. He then started yelling at my elderly mother saying "I only get $30 for this" and that she should "get a job" and "stop hanging around your house all day."

So, whatever, he's a douche. But I called the company to cancel my service and I got a generic CSR "I'm sorry to hear that ma'am I'll put a note in his file." I told them about how I didn't get the $15 credit last time and that I wasn't paying for the service this time. They told me the "best" they could do is a $15 credit for this time only. Wow... $15 whole dollars for the privilege of having some 20 year old kid screaming at my elderly mother on her own yard. Thanks a lot.

I requested Lawnstarter service and received it on Friday August 21st. The crew did absolutely horrible work and did not complete the job. On August 26th, I received and additional fee from Lawnstarter. I contacted Lawnstarter and spoke with a representative by the name of ***. I advised the representative of my concerns. She canceled my service but stated the fees would remain.

On July 22nd. 2020 we had a grass cutter from Lawnstarter mow my lawn. When the weedwacker was used it cracked certain areas on the bottoms of the house & garage. There Add states you do not need to be home at the time of servicing. We filed a damage complaint & the response was to me that they would not fix or pay the damages because there is no evidence that shows there provider caused the damages. They made me send pictures first which clearly shows the damage, [approx. $500.00] then stating there was no evidence that the provider did it. We were asked were there any witness to this ? really,? I asked I thought no one needed to be home. Please help me resolve this issue.

This company billed my credit card illegally. I ddidnt sign any contract for them to charge my credit card.
They chearged my card three times before I was aware and they didnt perform any service ever.

If I could do zero stars I would. Twice I have tried using this company and twice it has resulted in property damage with no refund or compensation. The first time, my $30 something mow turned in to over $200 dollars because of long grass. Sounds shady for just longer than usual grass right? I wasn’t even given an estimate that it would cost that much. The crews they work with aren’t even insured.

This time around the crew showed up a day early without warning. They ignored all the property notes saying that the lawn was newly sodded 4 months ago. Any legitimate lawn company would know that you need to mow high because of that. They brought in a riding mower at the lowest setting and tore up my new sod. When that happened they tried to mow with just their edgers/weed wackers, and cut parts of the sod all the way to the dirt, and only did maybe a fourth of the yard. I filed a damage report and called the company. They asked for pictures and I sent them. Obviously I cancelled any future Services until the issues were resolved. Now they’ve charged me for the mow that wasn’t even completed, they are acting like I can’t be refunded because my account is cancelled, and my dispute for damaged has suddenly disappeared. This is a horrible company that should be shut down.

LawnStarter sent a crew out to my property to cut my grass. As I was sitting in my office I heard that right below my office window someone hit a metallic object, while either cutting or edging the lawn. I was in the middle of a call, as I work from home and walked outside soon after and noticed that the crew hit my drain pipe. I’ve contacted LawnStarter and was advised that the damage has been there since the crew submitted pictures from the previous cut. At the time of the previous cut, I was not home and advised the representative that the sound was what alarmed me to even consider checking what was hit. The crew denied causing the damage and the company has not provided any resolution for causing damages to my home. I’ve attempted to advise the representative that I heard the crew hitting my property and damaging it, I was advised that this must have been preexisting damage, which is not only disrespectful, but also unethical business practice.

the services were hired to mow the lawn at my property on June 4th 2020. They were informed several times thru phone email and there app to cancel the services as I did not need it, but kept sending mowing services on three occasions and charged my credit card each time they came in spite of cancelling the services several times for the services I did not need. Each time they came they charged $51.99.

I started using LawnStarter for about 5 months. I never had any complaints until now. Recently I had my lawn mowed and I noticed that my Lime tree of over 8 years given from my great grandmother who has since passed away was knocked down. I contacted them as soon as I noticed it. They advised me to put in a property claim which I did. Two days after they told me to complete a new order request to have the issue resolved which I did as well. They told me I would be presented with a quote to approve or deny. I found that quite odd being that I shouldn't be responsible for them knocking down my tree. 5 days later they contacted me saying that they will not fix or replace my tree. All I asked for them to do is to place the tree back up and put it back in the dirt. They refused and continued stating that they will get me someone who which then I can pay for their service. They stated that because I brought it to their attention 7 days after the service was performed they will not help. They stated all property damage has to be brought to their attention within 5 days of service. Who knew that you had to fully inspect your property after every cut. So people, please do not use Lawnstarter. Its great because its convenient via the app but it will cost you a heartache. It has been over a week with the back and forth with no resolution and unfortunately I don't think the tree will survive.

The most unprofessional service ever. I signed up for their service and my date was Monday 7/13/20. After they confirmed mutt schedule it was Tues or Wed 7/14-15/20. I was like ok I'm set. I got a message saying my crew was on its way at 11am Tuesday. I'm thinking when I get home from work my over grown yard will be so nice. No one showed. I called I was told crew had scheduling issues and a new crew would be assigned and my dates changed but I was assured that Thursday 7/15/20 no later someone would do it. Well I get a text today 7/15/20 saying can't do out until 7/22/20. Crew was at the house but they didn't do my yard. I agreed to their upcharge due to the state of my yard and they still didn't complete. Don't waste your time

These service doesn't even deserve one star, totally unreliable after the first time, they don't care about customers and they want you to post a pre-written review to receive a big discount on your services.

The crew damaged my outside air conditioning unit. When I contacted the company they basically told me unless there was video evidence then they would not reimburse me for the property damage. Cost me almost 300 dollars out of my pocket and still payed 35 dollars for the cut as well! Worst customer service I've ever heard of! Even the company I hired to fix the damage knew immediately it was damage cause by a weed eater cutting the wires! Do not use this company!!!
