Lawnstarter sent me two emails agreeing to refund $83 in one email and $50 in the other email for the property damage done while cutting my lawn. The damaged my sprinklers and a garden hose. I have not received either credit to my account.

I have two rental houses in Fort Worth that we’re being mowed all summer of 2019 by Lawnstarter. At the beginning of September 2019 both of my renters texted me to complain that the lawn hadn’t been mowed in a month. I had biweekly service on both. I investigated and sure enough, my card had been charged on September 6th and two weeks before and when I came out on September 9th the grass was 2 feet tall! 3 days after they claimed to have mowed it. They contacted the mower who...surprise...has not responded to them. This happened at two houses, for around a month (two paid mowings each). I’ve emailed back and forth a dozen times and the company refuses to admit blame or even offer a simple refund of the final mowing at each house. This company basically engages in credit card fraud as far as I can tell.

I signed up for biweekly lawn mowing. The first few services were great - I mentioned broken tree branches and broken sprinkler heads, but that is minimal, so I didn't pursue a claim. Then, I was notified that I was getting a different crew that wanted to change days. No problem - except they forgot what biweekly meant. It took MANY messages (they won't use the phone!?!?!) to get the schedule set. I have to lock my dogs inside and unlock my gate on the day they arrive, then run home when they are done. No problem, except they Never showed up. FIVE straight days, the first time, I took time to leave work or my weekend plans, and check, then try to contact them. I messaged them. Got new dates, no crew. Again, new dates, no crew. My online account has the full history of all their missed dates. Until today my lawn was so long that I feared for my dogs' and my health, due to insects, rodents, and the many SNAKES I caught in my yard and took to fields. I finally canceled my service. Have yet to get a call from a live person regarding this mess. I only got rescheduling notes.

Quotes to clean up my yard were over $100 before tip, and a week's wait. I found a sympathetic person to help me today. He says most of my grass is in shock from length/mowing so late and may die soon.

I don't want any other person to go through what I have with this "Company".

Horrible service. I will never recommend this company. They cut out grass but didn’t pick any of it up. They left so much dead grass it. When we called to come pick it up. They said it would be an extra charge. I’m not sure why they didn’t include the charge to pick up excess grass, in the first place. Then we agreed to pay an additional $15.00 to pick up the excess grass and they never showed. Horrible horrible service.

!!! ***!!!! ***!!!! DON'T USE THEM! DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD EITHER BEFORE EVEN SETTING UP TO HAVE THE COMPANY MOW YOUR LAWN OR WHATEVER YOU'RE GETTING DONE!
They never came out to give me an estimate nor mow my lawn. I refused to give them my CC information 3 x's and then the 4th time I did. I told her do not charge on my account until I have met with one of the guys to talk about my yard. Load and behold, long story short. After repeatedly told them to cancel and remove my credit card and do not charge it to ***I!!!!!!
No communication once so ever and no confirmation to acknowledge that he is cancelling til August 31st!!!! Mind you this conversation was on August 21st!!!!!
They charged me $41.12 and got a overdraft fee on my account after they charged to my account!
I REPEAT WITH WHOLEHEARTEDLY!! DO NOT USE THEM .. .SHUT THEM DOWN!

This business is a complete scam.

I went through Lawnstarter to book mowing for my house at *** because I injured myself and was unable to continue doing it myself. I originally signed up on Wed 8/21, and chose the advertised completion date of 8/23. Once a crew was assigned, that date was moved out to 8/26-8/27 (that part is not a big deal as I understand that scheduling is dependent on the crew being assigned). 8/27 came and went with no mowing.

I attempted to contact the assigned crew directly through the app, with no response. I reached out to Lawnstarter support and was told that they would assign a new crew - and then I heard nothing until I reached out to them again on 8/29. It is now mid-day on 8/30 and I had to mow the lawn myself as it was getting ridiculously long, which was NOT an easy task (and likely a dangerous one) with one hand (i have a whole bunch of stitches in the other from the previously mentioned injury).

At this point I'm fairly certain Lawnstarter has no intention to attempt to complete the work, and advertises a 3 mow minimum. I processed a cancellation through the app but I am concerned that I will be charged for the first 3 mows anyway, despite the fact that they have not completed any work within a reasonable amount of time.

Lawnstarter was set to do my lawn/yard but emailed that there was an issue locating a crew. Stated that once they found a crew, the crew would reach out to me to introduce themselves. I responded that because Ihave a strict HOA and will just do my own yard and we can resume in 2 wks for the next mow. Some hrs later I receive a text msg that someone named *** is awaiting feedback on service provided. I immediately emailed Lawnstarter again. I stated that I emailed them previously that id be doing my own yard since they were still looking for a crew to do my yard (there was no certainty if/when theyd find anyone). Furthermore, they previously stated that the crew would reach out to introduce themselves once found; Which didn't happen.I asked in my numerous emails to them 'how would my acct be adjusted'. Its now over 48hrs and still no response from them but theyve billed me on 8/20/19 $37.99. That's shady business. They tell me once located that the crew will reach out..so I email them that I will do my own yard which I did..hours later that the crew came..they take my $37.99..I send emails..no response. Don't completely ignore a customers contacts via email (if they had a phone number I wouldve used that option). I did my own yard because they didnt have a crew and were trying to locate one. 48hrs I feel is reasonable time to respond and since they havent I feel that they dont have any intention on ever responding.

As a provider, you’re unable to delete your account. I was unhappy with the business requests I was getting and when I tried to delete account, LawnStarter said it’s in the fine print of the contract that I can’t delete the account. I wouldn’t recommend giving this company any personal info as you give up the right to delete any of it.

We were told the first mow would be 19 dollars. They came out and charged us 60 stating the grass was taller than 6 inches, which it was not considering it's August, hasn't rained, and I just mowed 2 weeks prior. Not only did they lie about the height, they never stated that there would be an additional charge if they deemed the grass was "too tall". Give me a break. It's an obvious bait and switch. On top of that, they were supposed to come every two weeks, and showed up to mow AGAIN 6 days later charging us another 40 dollars. Now they won't return calls and are trying to tell us we can only get a credit...why would I want your deceitful company to continue working in my yard?!

This company is unethical at best, criminal at worst. I used this crew for two months when a neighbor pointed out the irrigation line had been cut by the mower. My water bill was huge but I was a new resident and told to water the new sod four times a week. I filed a claim and long story short the crew said the pipe was damaged and they documented it with pictures before they started mowing. When I asked why they did not tell me, no reply and they could not produce the photos either. Horrible experience!

They have overcharged my credit card. They charged me for a serythat was not correct, without consent. I contacted them and told them my card was incorrect. They replied and said they were not changing it. They had zero care that charged me extra.

The first service was scheduled on 6/10. Since then, the contractors continuously failed to show up for mowing or skipped the service without contacting me.

The latest incident was the worst of all the things they have done. On July 16, the contractor which replaced one that failed to show up for several weeks, name *** show up and cut the lawn. I saw one of them leaving my property and cutting my neighbor's house. I have ask them whether they finished the mowing because extremely poor job. He said it is not finished. However, the contractor left without finishing mowing my yard right after cutting my neighbor's lawn. I have text him if they are coming back to finish the job - took pictures. He replied back saying he would. Even apologies to me for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, they failed to follow up for two days on the issue and had to inform LawnStarter. No reply back from the contractor until I communicated LawnStarter. Then the contractor set up follow up visit on 7/19. But, the contractor did not show up on 7/19 and texted me late in the afternoon stating unable to come that day due to his equipment malfunction/breakdown. He then rescheduled to 7/22. Then they texted me that they will not come to fix the damage and stating it was not caused by them.

On 7/20, I started to communicate with LawnStarter. Forwarded pictures and all the screen captured text to *** of LawnStarter on 7/20. Since then the contractor start falsifying what had happened to the company. After long wait for LawnStarter to do the right thing, I have received an insulting email from a manager name ***. The manager did not even bother to read what I have sent to them and yet made conclusion that I am the one falsifying the information. It was the most insulting thing I had to experience ever.

The contractor damaged my lawn and damaged flowerbeds. It needs to be repaired immediately.

Hired them in mid-October 2018 to cut my grass. They came out for one mow and broke multiple things in my yard. After filing a complaint with them they said they would come back for a free service and they did but still did not complete the backyard job so I cancelled service. On 7/16 I received a text from them about a service which was the first time I had seen their name since October and when I went to their website and logged in could see that they had been charging me since October and yet no one had ever shown up again to cut my grass from this company. I am currently working with another lawn care company in Jacksonville and offered to show them those records to prove they had not ever cut my grass after the first service but they said they would not be reimbursing me for those services.

Company dumped grass clippings in my trash can and then bagged grass clippings without my authorization or approval or request to do so. I requested that these be removed from my property as I cannot do it due to previous back surgery and my inability to lift this. I have called the company over 20 times & emailed many many times. I've been told that this would be resolved on at least four to five separate occasions. I requested a supervisor call me on four different occasions and they have not. This is still not resolved.

I was quoted a price..once the crew arrived the crew advised me they woukd only cut my front yard..they said they're not getting paid enough to do my back. I then cancelled my service only to have my card charged twice for services I did not recieve. When I reached out to the company they offered 1/3 of my money back. I'm still disputing this to get all of my money. Lawn Starter is the worst and I'm glad I now have a lawn mower stay far far away from this company!!

I contacted with LawnStarter to mow my lawn. It was scheduled on June 25 and *** lawn has not been mowed as of date. I continously called and they keep rescheduling.

They have mowed my lawn. Thanks!Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note8, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone

They advertise that the first lawn mow costs $19. From there on out I would be charged $38. The salesperson, ***, told me that if the grass was long I would be charged half of $38 in addition to the $19. The most I was expecting to be charged was $38. I told her that parts of my yard was long but for the most part it wasn't but I had weeds in the backyard. She assured me that they look at the yard as a whole and they don't count weeds as part of the long grass charge. The guy who mowed my lawn did a great job however when I got the bill it stated $62. I was charged double for the long grass fee plus the $19. I never would have signed up if I thought it would have cost this much. There were also $6 of extra charges that they never mentioned to me. When I emailed to dispute the charges, they sent me pictures of the weeds and told me that I had to pay the whole amount. Then I called and the customer support person said she would escalate it to management. Once again, instead of listening to what *** told me, she sent me pictures of the weeds and told me I had to pay the full amount. To me, the salesperson misleads you into signing up and then they overcharge you. This is false advertising.

I have been working with LawnStarter Lawn Care services. I elected to have a biweekly cut. I get a text asking for a review every time they cut the grass. I usually review with a star rating. I wasn't really paying attention to the frequency as the lawncare service happens when I'm at work. However I worked from home a couple days within a two week period and I realized that the frequency of the lawn service was happening each week. I did not request this change in frequency nor did I make this change on my account website.

Looking at my service history, I see that LawnStarter changed my mowing frequency on May 26 to Weekly without my knowledge. Since May 26 they have come every week - 7 times each time $41.

I immediately contacted customer service and asked for my account to be changed back and asked for a refund because my service frequency was changed without my knowledge. They denied my refund and changed my account back without any explanation in to how my account was changed.

I have since cancelled my account with LawnStarter.

They cut my rose bushes and denied it. Sent me an email with one line "claim denied." Awful company, they take 3 hours to return your call and then the person on the phone can't do anything. They have to email different departments for you. I've used them 5 times and all 5 times I had issues. Do not use this company.

This place is horrible! I called this company on May 25th to set up lawn Care services. They said they would provide services between May 30th and 31th and sende receipt 3 days after services are rendered. I never received any receipt so I called there company and waited 30 minutes for a rep to answer. She told me that my lawn had not been serviced and it was a week after the initial appointment. I had to call them they were never going to call or notify me of anything. These people are pathetic I would advise anyone to stay away from this company!
