I signed up for the program in early May and subsequently was told they could not find a provider in my area and canceled my account. When I called they told me they couldn’t help me and hung up on me. I checked my online account and it was canceled. Approximately a week later they billed me for the service that I did not receive. I have been trying to contact them through email and phone and they are not responding.

Lawnstarter made a commitment to mow my lawn between May 14th and May 15th. They didn't. Because of the inconvenience I requested they get someone to mow my lawn on May 17th and provide me a half off discount. They expressed concern about finding a provider to mow my lawn in that time period. I told them that's fine if it had to be done next week, but if it does I expected a complimentary mow. The *** agreed to these conditions on a record line. The *** that agreed to these terms name was ***. Instead of honoring that commitment she apparently decided to cancel all services with exactly zero notification to me as the customer. The only reason I became aware of it is because I called and pressed the issue. Several agents lied and said that they couldn't find someone to cut my grass. Others told me my account was cancelled because we're not a good fit. After over an hour of trying to get a *** on the line to get a straight answer I decided to file this report.

Crew never showed, I had to use another service because I was about to be cited by code compliance. I was charged anyway and now they are only giving credit for a service that they basically admitted doesn't exist in my area instead of a refund.

The company rep kept repeatidly lying to me that service would be done before finally cancelling. This ended up costing me an extra $32 dollars to have the yard care service done because of overgrowth.
On April 17th, I signed up for mowing service. The price was to be $19. I was told service would be done between 4/19- 4/22. On 4/22 I received a message stating that the person to do the work had a personal problem and could not complete the work and I was rescheduled for 4/25. On 4/25, I received another message from this same person saying that it would not be done because of weather, but then was told it was because he was at another property and mine would be done 4/26. On 4/26, again no one showed, and I was told it would be the morning of 4/27. On 4/27 I received a message saying the lawn person was "on their way." This person never showed up. Several hours later I received a message saying *** was looking for someone else to complete the work. I had already spoken to customer service twice. The first time she recommended that I just continue to wait because it would be 5/1 before she could find anyone else to do the work. Because I was repeatedly lied to that someone was coming and following the recommendation to wait it out, my yard overgrew and I had to pay someone $51.50 to mow. More than twice that it was supposed to cost. I have all the screen shots and messages to prove this.

Well first of all they don't really know when they will be doing your lawn, they give you a 48 hour window on when they will be there. They also require a 3 service minimum! I set an appointment for them to come mow my yard and that's it, they never came out to my house, and I had to mow my yard myself (not a big deal) I cancelled my subscription and service with them 2 days before they were supposedly coming out to complete the service, Fast-forward to a week later, I get a charge to my debit card from LawnStarter. I called to see why the charges were made and they told me its for the service they provided to my lawn stating that the service was completed. I told them that no one came to my house and that I did my yard myself. They told me "Our records indicate that we did complete the service at that location" when I tried to escalate the conversation to a ***, the *** told me they don't have a *** there and that someone would just have to call me back in 24 hours. I told her that was unacceptable but she just repeated what she had previously stated and disconnected. I will admit that I was not a very nice person with this *** when I called, but there is not a call center on the planet that doesn't have a *** sitting in and listening to all conversations. The "***" has called me back and claims to have refunded the charges. We'll just have to wait the 10-15 business days to see if that's true. If no refund has been made I will be back on here to complain again! My advice, DO NOT use this company for lawn care services! Seriously! DON'T DO IT!!!!!

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. I have had multiple issues with LawnStarter. The crews they contacted out either did a horrible job or did not ever show up. Stay far away from LawnStarter.

From out of state, I hired Lawn Starter to do three and only three lawn services as a Christmas present for my brother who resides at ***. He has been ill and in the hospital. Lawn Starter have done only three services and have been charging the card for services not wanted and not rendered ever since!

Complaint has been resolve by refund to card.

This company is horrible. They don't come when they are supposed to. Then when they finally did come to my home, they shattered my sliding glass door and didn't even tell me. When I discovered it, they told me it would take 3 days to assess my claim. They are not even concerned about the safety issue of not only the shattered glass, but my safety. Do not use this company.

They promised a $19 first time mow then take $43 from your bank account. I tried contacting them several times. Now they claim my lawn was over 6 inches in spots so they had to charge an additional fee.

First, I have every correspondence and no where was any additional fees listed.
Secondly, I was here when the representative came to my house and I was not told of any stipulations or extra fees prior to him starting the work
Thirdly, I am now seeing online this is a scam that they do to people

I went over needed yard work in person with a representative from Lawn Care (***) at the location where the work was to be done, and he verbally confirmed in detail what was needed. He quoted $47.06 for the work.

Apparently he encountered some medical issues and was unable to do the work on the date we had scheduled. I received communication from a different representative (***), who came out to do the work. When he took a look, he said the original quote was too low and gave me a new quote of $270.

Given the price discrepancy, this feels very much like a bait-and-switch, possibly coordinated and intentional.

I hired LawnStarter for lawn service at my house on 27-Sept-2018. LawnStarter’s service was the worst lawn service I have ever seen. Words cannot describe the horribly bad quality of the service. Their lawn mower was set so low that it looks like my yard has been permanently damaged in some places.

They ran over my water hose and damaged it. They did not clean up and left grass everywhere. They only mowed and did not edge. When my wife came home that day and saw the disaster, she cried. When I came home, my heart sunk in my chest. I had to edge and clean up myself, which is not what I paid for. How can anyone mess up cutting grass this much?

I called LawnStarter the next day, Sept 28, 2018 to discuss the situation. I was told that I would receive a full refund for the service. I never received the refund and my next available time to call LawnStarter was Oct 24, 2018. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told that one would e-mail me.

I received an e-mail from *** and she indicated a couple of items:
1. A refund of $20 was processed for the incomplete work instead of a full refund.
2. If I wanted a refund of the entire service, I would have had to complete a dispute through the LawnStarter mobile phone app within 5 days of the service.
3. There’s nothing else she can do for me.

I dispute everything she in the e-mail chain. I never received a refund of $20 for the incomplete work. When I called on September 28, 2018, I was never informed that I needed to complete a dispute through the app, otherwise I would have done that.

What I want is a full refund in the amount of $47.11, which is what I was charged for the service on September 27, 2018 as agreed to with LawnStarter on September 28, 2018.

I contracted Lawn Starter to trim a palm tree in my front yard. They quoted $152.94 and I paid the amount on September 22. They promised to complete the work on September 26 but did not do it. I called them multiple times and each time had to explain the situation all over with a different customer service person. They kept promising to do it. After multiple calls I asked them to cancel the service and refund the money. They have not refunded the money.

I set up a time for the company to cut my grass on tues or wedsday. The date being 9/18/2018 or 9/19/2018. No one showed up to do the job. They told me that they could do it thur or friday. which is 9/20/2018 or 9/21/2018. I tried to reach them to confirm thur or friday but I was hung up on a regular basis and could not confirm the date for them to do their job.

these people keep lying to me about when they're going to cut my yard I talk to someone Saturday and they promised me someone will come out by Monday. I get home Monday evening and no one cut my yard. It's been two weeks no one has called or came by and I'm suscribed to these services.

7/18/18 First time they cut my lawn. They hire different crews that they certify. The first week, the crew they sent didn't cut the entire lawn, so they gave me a discount and said they'd come back. They never did. No one has. I have requested my yard be cut on a weekly basis starting with that first week and they've assigned 7 different crews to my yard and they've only been out here once or maybe twice. They haven't charged me but they keep scheduling me (I've been put on the schedule at least 7 times) and nobody keeps showing up. I have to hire someone to cut the yard and now I have to probably pay a surcharge because it's so long. They also don't reschedule or cancel until the last minute, they only cut from sunup to sundown and wouldn't tell you when they were coming so you'd have to be home all day but then they'd call at 6 and cancel. After you stayed home all day. That's how inconsiderate of your time they were.

I am a caretaker for my two older parents, it's really important that a company be honest and upfront with me, I told them all that when I called them first.

I have had nothing but issues with LawnStarter from day one. Crews not showing up, crews doing only half of my yard or a quarter of my yard, Then a crew damaged my water line with their lawn mower. Took over a week to get the company to cover the charge for the plumber to come out and fix my line. But they finally did, now I get my water/sewer bill in the mail and it is almost triple the charge. The water company said it is due to the water line being damaged because the water was running 24/7 outside in the ground for days. I requested LawnStarter to pay the additional charges on my water bill and they refuse. I provided them copies of my water/sewer bill back months showing them what my normal bill is and what it is now with the damage. There also was a chart on the bill that showed how much water was used due to the leak in the line caused by the crew using the lawn mower and damaging it. This is unacceptable I did not damage my water/sewer line, LawnStater did, I did not cause my line to leak out into my yard and down the street. I provided several pictures by the way. I did not do this LawnStater did how am I responsible to cover this when I was not the one that cause the issue. This is horrible! LawnStarter needs to take ownership of their fault here.

The website offers a one time mowing option which I requested and then was told I could not get the service. I was told it was something only offered in the winter months but the website does not indicate this as a limitation.

The worst. Mowed once then never showed up. No call. No nothing. Do your self a favor. Call someone else. These people extort you into mowing once a week. All of them.
Even the ones with websites and logos. To hell with all of them. May they step in dog doo doo at least 7 times everrrrrry time they mow. All of them.

The Lawn Starter crew damaged my lawn and did not correct the issue. To resolve they sent another crew that caused more damage.
On May 22, 2018, I contacted Lawn Starter to report damage to my lawn. *** replied and asked that I send her photos of the damage. I immediately sent her 8 pictures of the damage. I informed *** that my specific directions were in the preferences section of my account and had been addressed since April 2017.

On May 23, 2018, I received an email from *** which read:
"I'm sorry about those issues and I'm sorry that your crew wasn't able to provide you a 5-star mow. However, they definitely want to keep trying. I've gone ahead and added a note on your account so that your crew is mindful of your feedback on your next mow. We also have an awesome feature available to you on my.lawnstarter.com or the mobile app that allows you to communicate service notes, pictures and complaints directly with your crew. That way, they know exactly what needs to be addressed. We are working on a solution for you and will contact you with an update asap. We appreciate your patience. For further information on our services, feel free to visit our Support page at https://support.lawnstarter.com/hc/en-us." It occurred to me that she hadn't read the preferences like *** and the new crew that was assigned.

On the 25th I received another email stating that she was reaching out to the support group to receive a resolution on the mulching and grass damage in 48 hours. That did not happen. On May 29th I received an email from Ms. stating that a new crew was assigned, and she would note the account on the instructions to use a push mower and bag to catch the clippings. I informed her that those instructions have been in the account since April 2017, and I wanted to know how the damage would be addressed. On the 29th Ms. replied with the following message: "We apologize for the inconvenience; our support team reviewed your account and your crew job as well and see that the crew did the job correctly on May 23rd. Unfortunately, the service you need does not come included in a basic lawn mowing subscription. This consists of the mow itself, blowing off hard surfaces, and edging."

I replied and told her I disagreed with her review and that I was not inconvenienced, my lawn was damaged, and I needed some type of resolution to repair the damage. I listed the instructions to use a mower with a bag to catch clippings, and to prevent any clippings from going into the mulch with my original subscription in April 2017. The original crew did a fantastic job following all instructions for an entire year at the quoted cost. All subsequent crews in 2018 damaged my lawn.

Changing the crew who replicated the previous crew's damage would not suffice. I cancelled the service and looked for other lawn care providers to repair the damage and service the lawn.

Consequently, I hored another company to repair the damage and begin a new service.
