Review: When I took my [redacted] to maaco I had EXPRESSLY TOLD [redacted] and [redacted] NOT TO SAND ON THE ROOF that the ROOF was never going to be perfect and I was ok with the way it was since I had spent well over 100 hours of body work sanding on it myself. THERE WAS NO CRACKS SHOWING ON THE ROOF AT ANYTIME. About a month later I get a message to call I go to see the issue and [redacted] tells me that there was a crack and I said Oh no someone sanded into my repair work and I had said NOT to sand to far down again this was MAACOs fault for NOT instructing their crew to stay off the roof and just give it a light sanding. So MAACO expected me to pay 8.5 hours for something that was THEIR FAULT I NEVER EVER EXPECTED THEM TO WASTE MY MONEY OR THIER TIME on my roof. Which is why when I EXPRESSLY MENTIONED NOT TO SAND DOWN INTO THE REPAIR.I handed over an additional $1154.00 that had unfairly charged 8.5 hours of work which was NOT REQUESTED. I said I could live with the roof NOT being perfect. It was my decision and [redacted] was responsible for allowing this error to go on much like what is happening right now as on December 18th I drove over to see why I am still not able to get my car when they have been paid IN FULL for this work.My car is NOT FINISHED yet! I went and took pictures of the way they had my car just sitting out unlocked that had a expensive lower panel kit which cost me close to 400.00 which could have been stolen since they left my car unlocked and it is still today sitting out unlocked and unfinished!THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME! I really regret my choice of taking my car there now after seeing the disregard of my car and carelessness in leaving sharp metal laying across my new restored interior I am appalled by how they are treating the interior of my vehicle.[redacted] wanted to charge me MORE money for installing the lower trim AFTER overcharging me for work NOT requested. The car still is NOT FINISHED yet they have been paid in FULL after 4 months!I have NO ACCESS to my yahoo email account.Desired Settlement: [redacted] was told right from the beginning NOT TO SAND THE ROOF just prep it lightly for primer n paint. His crew did sand and they charged me extra money for work not requested or agreed on estimate of $4750. I asked about a veterans discount and [redacted] said that the $4750 was the veterans discount and he never knew I was a veteran until I asked about the veterans discount. After paying $5904 I feel there was NO VETERANS DISCOUNT and the way the car is being left out really shows they could care less

Response:

This is an update to the December 18 2013 complaint filed with Revdex.com. This Business has defrauded me and damaged my 1970 Monte carlo. The owners have intentionally used thier buisness to cheat me a women who is a DISABLED VETERAN. I went to this place because THEY ADVERTISED TO OFFER VETERANS A DISCOUNT.After being defrauded out of $6400.In front of two witness the male owner ordered me to leave AFTER I began raising serious concerns about the visible damage to my interior of my car. When the car was left on July 30th 2013 THE DOORs WERE PERFECTLY ADJUSTED. The owner was told what I expected with the driver front fender and the issues surrounding the door and driver fender. This was to be their focus of the main repair this did not happen instead a full on fraud fest and This buisness needs to have thier business license canceled permanently. When you order a customer to leave WHILE DEMANDING MORE MONEY WITH THREATS OF KEEPING THE CAR YOU NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN PERMANENTLY. The owner knew on November 21st when he accepted $2750.00 the doors would not shut as they should have esepcially after paying $500.00 for the door jambs to be painted. This is more proof of deceptive buisness practices. I hope the Revdex.com reports this to the WA ATG I know I have.

intentional damages to my car:crawling over the console intentionally NOT repairing what they forced me to pay for since I was held hostage by the male owner on Decmeber 31 2013 for repairs that were bogus charges since he never really repaired what the first estimate had requested. I expect a full refund $6400 due to deceptive advertising and fraudulent estimates and NEVER OBTAINING MY SIGNATURE to REPAIR THIS CAR before starting their destruction of my Monte and the car doors.

Desired Settlement: Refund

Response:

Since I am not in the office very often, I became involved in the 1970 Monte Carlo in early September. At that point I took pictures of the apparent crack in the roof and other damage that was noticed. The core support needed adjusted for the front panels to fit properly. The left fender, lt frt door, trunk filler and rt quarter lower had damage. On Sept. 9 I called Ms. [redacted] and she came in to see what the damage was and decide if she wanted us to do anything with it. She came in on the 10th and I went over the places with her. The reason I did this was because it was noted on her invoice to "notify the customer of any filler or issues with bodywork before paint". She could have just said no she didn't want the work done. That was her choice but we wanted to make sure she was notified. I believe there was a sunroof installed in the roof and Ms. [redacted] had removed it and attempted to take care of it. She had all the materials she had used in the vehicle. Just because a person puts 100 hours in a job doesn't mean that the job was crack free. When we wiped it down with wax and grease remover it was obvious that there was a crack in the roof.

After I spoke to her and went over the areas of concern, she agreed to have the other work done. There were several other places that we just took care without charging her. Had we left the crack in her bondo on the roof, the paint would have sunk into it and it would have been very obvious, Just because she didn't see the crack when she dropped it off didn't mean it wasn't there and our guys cracked it. We don't try to generate business like that. She came back later that same day with payment in full for the additional labor. At that point she agreed to have the work done and she asked me if I would have her "rocker moldings" installed at no charge. I agreed to do that. I wrote that on the invoice that day. I did not agree to put all of the moldings on her car for no charge. That is a big job.

As far as the veterans discount is concerned, she got a discount and we do not give combined discounts. I am one of the owners of this business, It is a woman owned, veteran owned business. We don't treat people as Ms. [redacted] is contending we did. She was not discriminated against at any point. We didn't know she was disabled as she is claiming. We believe we did the work that she requested. I am not refunding her money.

Review: Took my car there for a bumper repair. They have had my car over 5 weeks and it is still not done. They are on their 3rd repaint. Each time there are runs, drips, sags, overspray, visible dust specks over the entire area. The manager [redacted] said they remove the bumper each time and it is even written in the work order, if that was true there would not be overspray all around the seams and on the tail light lenses. Last go around I brought the poor quality to his attention, he became belligerent, rude and said the job was fine and I should take my care an leave. Horrible customer service. The "boss" [redacted] does not even have the guts to talk to me about my vehicle and why the work is so poor. I have requested a refund several times so I can take my car to a real body shop. They refused and said they will repaint the bumper and correct the problems. When I got my vehicle back I could not believe what I saw. They painted 3/4 of my vehicle with visible discoloration, burns marks, sanding marks, the painted all the rubber and plastic seals and spacers around the doors, panels, handles, mirrors, there is overspray all over the rest of the car, there are sanding marks on the hood, roof and trunk which has ruined the factory finish. I took to another body shop to fix, but they said it can not be fixed or repaired. Maaco completely destroyed my vehicle.Desired Settlement: Maaco of Laguna Niguel needs to replace my vehicle or pay for a competent body shop to repair my vehicle.

Review: One year ago. Match 2014. I arrive at Maaco with an 03 monte Carlo ss. Newly installed hood, bumper, and side panels from a separate 3rd party, Maaco tells me because it is not their parts, they can't guarantee the paint will stick. I was naive. They charged me about 630 dollars to paint the whole car. Shortly after, I started noticing tiny chips on good and bumper, the manager [redacted], said it was done, and handed me a bottle of touch up paint to do it myself so he didn't have to honor warrenty, now the chips are larger and more of them appear and are just flaking off. I can't keep up with touching up because more appear. And in larger size. I found out online, that even if the 3rd party installed parts, and even though those parts were pre primed, there should've been a primer adhesive applied to make paint stick. Because there is no adhesive. You can just see bare metal behind flaking paint. In a business man, I am a better business accredited member under [redacted]. I am a member of the chamber of,commerce. I am ashamed to show my car to state representatives. Its shameful and they won't repaint it.Desired Settlement: I would like the hood, bumper and side panels, touched up from all chips properly.

Response:

I spoke to my estimator about Mr. [redacted] vehcile and he told me that the issues were absolutely stone chips and not peeling paint. Please keep in mind we paint about three thousand vehicles a year. We have not had any come back for peeling paint. We here at Maaco of Delran take extra steps to make sure we apply the proper products and procedures to make sure this does not happen. It is very important to us to deliver a quality product. Mr [redacted] did admit to us that he travels about one hundred miles per day on the highway. This would absolutely be the cause of the stone chips. We do work for limo companies that do alot of highway travel and their cars are riddled with stone chips across the hood and front bumper. It is the nature of the beast driving excessive miles on the highway. Also, it is important to point out the Mr. [redacted] chose an economical paint service that does not have a seperate application of clear coat over the paint to help with protection from stones. However, it is a very good product and has tremdous value for the cost. To duplicate a factory finish product with the seperate application of clear coat over the paint, the cost would of been about four time what Mr. [redacted] spent. We do take this complaint very serious and will reach out to Mr. [redacted] to try to come to a resolution.Sincerely,[redacted]Owner

I am rejecting this response because: Ive done my research, my invoice says I received the presidential package with a clea coat protective coverage. as the website stated, " the presidential package is "durability plus catalyzed enamel. We paint the exterior with a material that is more resistant to environmental chemicals, weather chemicals, weather extremes and tough road conditions. Enanced performance with great value." Hence why I went back to this location to play stupid to see what they would say and offer to fix my problem. the quote is $350 just to repaint the hood and bumper. and thats if he doesnt charge for prep work. how can I have received this "presidential package" for tough road conditions if one freaking pebble bounces off and chips a nickle sized chip on the first bounce.

Review: Was finally contacted by Maaco about the progress on repairs to my vehicle which they had been working on for over two (2) years. Since that time I had checked on the progress off and on for the first year and was told they were just waiting on trim molding to complete the job. During the second year of waiting I retired from my job, got remarried, moved twice, am now living across the country, completely forgot about my vehicle and had considered it a lost cause. Now I find out that the molding I thought we were waiting on has never been ordered and they want to be paid for the work already done. Well I'm sorry but that is just not going to happen. I firmly believe that this is an unreasonable and/or excessive delay in completing a repair.Desired Settlement: I would like Maaco to buy the vehicle as it is not cost effective for me to retrieve it. I believe $2,000.00 is a fair price as I have invested a whole lot more than that in it. Thank You.

Response:

When Mr. [redacted] originally dropped off his Chevrolet truck we wrote him an estimate for repairs that he wanted and he expressed that there was no rush for repairs. He agreed to the repair invoice and we proceeded with repairs. A vast amount or repairs were completed when we found more damage. We called him according to his request if we found more problems. He came in and approved the additional repairs. We completed those additional repairs and finished the paint service that he requested. After notifying him that the vehicle was ready for delivery, he came in and then communicated to us that the truck was supposed to be absolutely brand new. Everything! When the vehicle had been dropped off Mr. [redacted] had also communicated that the truck had previously been taken to another shop for repairs and it had been sitting there for over two and a half years and all that had been done was the truck had been "torn apart". He was unhappy with them so he brought it to us. Mr. [redacted] did not communicate to us that he wanted all of the truck to be "Brand New". So therefore we did not order all the new emblems, moldings, gaskets, and trim to Restore the entire vehicle. That is not what was agreed to on the repair order. But now at the point of us completing the agreed repairs, he changes his expectations. We asked him what more he wanted. He said that it had to all look brand new. He was asked to pay for the repairs that had been done and after that we would be more than happy to work him up a new estimate for moldings, trim, and gaskets to achieve the level of repair that he was now wanting. He said that he would be back in to take care of it after it was all "Brand New".We then took additional time to clean up the various pieces that were left in large cardboard box in the back of the truck from the last repair facility. Mr. [redacted] was called multiple times to come back in and take care of his bill. We did not hear from him again after his last vivit to our shop. We continued to call him and eventually his phone number became disconnected. We then found a cell number on some of his paperwork and called it numerous times. Messages were left, but no reply was received. After some time had passed, I was able to get Mr, [redacted] on the phone. When he was asked to come by and take care of his bill, he became upset and stated that he had gotten married and moved across the country and he was not sure when he would be able to come back and pay for his truck. He then asked if we had ordered all the new stuff for his truck and installed it. I said no, and reminded him that we needed the repair billed paid for the work we had completed first. He was upset and said that he was not going to pay for any additional parts, all of that was going to be included because he says that he wanted it to all look brand new, so anything that does not look brand new has to be included in the original price because that is what he wanted, even though he did not communicate that, not pay for it.He then said that he was just going to send the title to the truck to us and then he would no longer have a bill to pay with us. I communicated to him that he would still have a bill to pay. We did not want the truck, we just wanted the bill to be paid for the repairs completed. He said the vehicle was not worth it and then proceeded to end the phone call by putting another person on the phone. I tried to listen to what she was saying, but it was very difficult to understand her. I asked for her to put Mr. [redacted] back on and he said he needed our address. I attempted to give it to him but he said he did not have a pan and he was driving. Just text it to me, he said, and then he hung up.I tried calling him again a few days later. I left a message with our contact address, and also text it to him to the same cell number. We did not receive any reply from Mr. [redacted] until we got this complaint from the Revdex.com.Mr. [redacted] states that we took way too long to repair the vehicle. This is not the case. He stated when he dropped it off that he was in no rush and he had been without the vehicle for a very long time. He came in a few times over the first year and checked on the progress. He left after inspecting the vehicle after it was ready, and never returned as he said he would. As for Mr. [redacted]'s desired resolution of this repair bill, that is not agreeable. We do not want or need his vehicle, let alone we are not willing to pay him money for it. We request that he pay his agreed upon repair bill and take possession of his vehicle.

Regards,

[redacted] Some of what Maaco says is true but most of it is not. Anyone can plainly see that the time to make this repair and paint job is totally unreasonable. It was back in August of 2012 when I dropped off this vehicle and was not contacted until November of last year 2014, over two years later. In my opinion it should not take a company like Maaco this long to do some body work and paint a vehicle. This is what they do and should have done in a timely manner. My cell phone number had never changed and is still the same and I also have voice mail on it. No messages were ever left and no effort was made by Maaco to contact me while I was still living in the area. And before we moved from Washington we stopped by several times to check on the progress and found the work was still not done. I have since moved, twice, and am now living in South Carolina thousands of miles away. I sure could have used this truck to help me move but it was not ready.I am not satisfied with the way this company does business. I offered to send them the title to the truck but they want that and to be paid too. Totally unprofessional and unethical as well. I am still willing to take a loss and take $2,000. for it because it is not cost effective for me to retrieve it now. I'm sure they can sell it and still make money. Especially if they finish the work on it and make it look brand new!

We do not want to buy this customers vehicle. We do work for customers to make money, not to buy vehicles that customers move out of state and leave behind. He needs to pay the agreed upon bill for the work that has been done to his vehicle and have the vehicle removed from our shop/lot. Beginning 4/10/ 15 will will be charging storage fees on this vehicle of $45.00 a day. We have bent over backwards to work with Mr. [redacted].He needs to be responsible and get this bill paid for.Thank You[redacted]

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Back in August of 2012, when I first contacted Maaco to work on this vehicle, I was told that they could make it look good as new. I did not expect a new vehicle but I did believe they could do what they said. I truly believed they were a reputable company and never expected this venture to go this far or go so wrong. This is so unprofessional and is now verging on ridiculous. If they want to start charging $45.00 per day storage, maybe I should charge them the same for being without a vehicle all this time. It has been approximately two years and seven months. I believe seven months is more than a reasonable time to do the body work and paint job so, the remaining two years at $45./day is (730days X $45.) = $32,850.00. See how ridiculous this is getting!I am now willing to send them the signed title to this vehicle just to make this go away. They can recoup what they can for the work they have done. It was never my intention to sell or give my vehicle to them but they have left me with little choice. I hope Maaco accepts this final offer and it resolves this matter.

Review: I brought my car in to have all the dents in the rear bumper repaired & painted as you do in any normal body shop. When they returned it, I noticed the paint job was lighter than the rest of the car. I brought this to their attention when I got another estimate for the front bumper. Their employee "[redacted]" admitted they failed to paint it correctly,I think he said, by not putting the fan on it. He stated that when they did the repairs to my front bumper, they could re-paint my rear bumper. All that sounded fine, until he probably passed this onto the owner, [redacted]. After that conversation w/ [redacted], that is when all the trouble began w/ the receptionist,(her lies) & I believe the owners son, who said "I didn't pay to have the paint BLENDED"!!! Since when do you bring your car to a repair shop, they fix your dents, paint the car, & then ask you , do you want the paint BLENDED after we paint it?? This is so stupid & ridiculous, & if it wasn't about my car, it would be funny!Desired Settlement: Reimburse me for the entire work because of all the problems they've caused me. Although [redacted] maybe a nice person outside of work, he has lied & NEVER called me regarding this situation. He could have left a message. If he did call & didn't leave a mess. his number would have been on my caller I.D. His receptionist continued to also lie & double talk trying to confuse me. She also tried to say it might not be under warranty, however, it is, I notified them in March 2015, work done June 2014.

Review: Jan19 my 95 Honda was dropped off at Maaco to be painted the same color as the original. They said they would match it by Honda paint code found on the car. They told me that it would be the exact same color as the original. The car was sanded to bare metal, dents removed & painted. The bumper, left front fender & mirrors were new & not attached to the car but were painted loose at the same time. Feb11 went to pick it up. I was not satisfied with the paint job on the bumper, mirrors, door & some other parts of the car. The bumper had a LOT of dirt in the paint. The door had run marks & it appeared that the paint didnt adhere to the car. The mirrors had tons of small pits in the paint where it looked like the paint didnt adhere. By the time I left [redacted] agreed to fix these parts.Feb15 I picked the parts up. I tried to install them & found that the left front fender didnt fit. The auto wrecking shop ordered the wrong part. I got another fender I dropped it off to have it painted. Feb22 I picked up the fender & installed all of the parts that had been painted separate from the car. Then I noticed a big difference in the paint color between parts that were painted loose & the rest of the car. The fender, bumper & mirror were the exact same color which was more of an apple red compared to the rest of the car which was more of a dried tomato color. It was only then that I realized that the car was not painted the color I had originally specified (the apple red color). Mar9 I drove my car to Maaco & he told me it would be 3 weeks before he could fix the mismatched colors. Ma 26 I dropped the car off. He said it would be ready Mar 29th or 30th. Apr13 I picked the car. The front bumper, fender & mirrors still appeared to be the same color. It appeared that now part of the hood & part of the driver side door had been painted also. Apr15 I called & told him that I was unhappy with the paint job & that the colors still didnt match. He told me he didnt understand what I was talking about. I told him the car is still painted two different colors. He explained that he had to blend the two colors. I asked him why he needed to blend the colors when he had the paint code. This didnt make sense to me because they had no problem matching the color of the bumper to the color of the front fender which was painted a week later. I told [redacted] that the bumper & fender appear to be painted with the Honda paint code & that is why they matched so perfectly. The problem is that they screwed up on the initial paint color and cannot get it to match. After an exchange of words, he agreed to call me the next day.He still hasnt called me back. I have left multiple messages trying to resolve this.Desired Settlement: They painted the car the incorrect color initially. They had to repaint parts that were poorly painted. The repainted parts were a different color. They then "blended" the two colors. I paid for the entire car to be painted ONE color. The body shop I talked to said they have to sand off all the paint to avoid the paint buildup from so many coats being applied. I have to start over.I would like a full refund in the amount of $1608.42 so I can take it elsewhere to have it repainted.

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted] did bring his car into our shop for repaint. Our dates are different than his. Our records show that the car was checked in to our shop on 1/30/2013. We have been in business for 15 years and we do NOT tell customers that their vehicle will be an exact match to the factory when it is single stage paint, which is what Mr. [redacted] purchased. It is an economy single stage paint not a factory-like base coat clear coat. There will never be a point in time when a customer can purchase an economy paint and get a factory paint for the same price.

The only portions of his vehicle that were stripped to the bare metal were the bodywork areas and the lacquer check areas. There is no place on his invoice that says we are stripping his entire vehicle to bare metal. The charge for that alone would be greater than his whole bill. Plus there would be other notations such as "acid etch bare metal" and there would be a charge for that. We very seldom do this type of preparation because it is not necessary. Delaminated clearcoat is sanded more agressively than regular sanding for preparation of paint so we charge extra for that as well as lacquer checking.

The mirrors we non painted factory parts that he elected to have painted the same as the car. We do not warrant the paint on these parts. The tons of small pits in the mirrors were rock chips that had armor all in them. We wipe down every vehicle with wax and grease remover and alcohol wipes before we paint it. We do not take a toothbrush and get in every chip. Since these are plastic parts, we do not sand them down and feather the chips out.

When vehicles are painted at the factory, the paint comes in 50 gallon drums and depending on if the drum was mixed right then and the vehicle painted or two hours later without mixing again, the color will have the same code but different variances. The color on Mr. [redacted]" vehicle has 5 different color chips and all the same code. When a vehicle is painted in single stage paint there is only one formula available by the code. The same color painted at different times can turn out a different color because we do not count the number of coats that are applied to get even coverage. One extra coat of paint can change the color. We usually do not paint parts after a vehicle has been painted because of this. It has nothing to do with the mixing or using the wrong paint code or painting it the "wrong color in the first place".

The car does not need to have all the paint sanded off of it for it to be painted again. It just needs a basic preparation. We are willing to refund the cost of the paint only. We removed all of the lacquer checking, delaminated clearcoat, and did all of the bodywork. He was not charged for the basic prep, ($79.95)we just do that at no charge when there are other areas that require special attention. The refund amount would be $496.88.

We are still willing to repaint the entire vehicle for Mr. [redacted] if he picks the color he thinks is the right one. We would be able to do that the week of June 17-22, 2013.

Review: I Left my Truck at Macco on Friday April 5,2014 and was told I should expect it no later then the following Friday. That never happened. I called numerous times promising it would be ready the next day, The next day never ended up being until two weeks later on Friday May 9,2014. When I got to Macco I saw my Truck parked outside. Before entering Macco I looked over the truck and saw many issues with the way the paint came out. There were paint runs, Paint gauges, the tailpipe got painted and there was a crack in the grill. After speaking to [redacted] and showing him my concerns, He refused to fix the mistakes unless I would pay more money. I wasnt happy with the service, was ripped off and I was not going to leave with my truck the way it was . After leaving Macco 15 mins later I get a phone call from [redacted] stating that he spoke to [redacted] being the manager, that if I were to leave my truck there, he would add storage fees. So I ended up having to turn around and pick up my Truck. After I paid, my reciept shows that I was charged an extra $200 for light chip and scratch repair. I took numerous pictures and anyone can see from looking at the pictures the quality that they advertise is clearly not what you get.Desired Settlement: All I want is for the blemishes to be fixed along with the cracked grill that they did! Thats all I ever wanted.

Review: To begin, the initial visit for services was followed up with an estimate and a date to drop of the vehicleI brought my [redacted] to Maaco on April 27, for a paint job and was promised a completion date for the following Saturday which was May 3rd Upon arrival on May 3rd, I found that my car had not been started yet and was ensured the job would be completed on May 5thI again returned to Maaco expecting a finished product to be told once again that my car had not been started and was then promised a finish date of Friday May 9thBy Monday May 12th, the car had not even been started yet and the lies continued for a "top notch job" in addition to a complete upgrade for the major inconvenience that was being causedI did not get my vehicle until somewhere around the 15th or 16th of MayWhich means that Maaco had my car for nearly three weeks and upon inspection the paint job was not top notch and the additional request for dent removal, a hinge on the driver side door were not done to satisfactory if not at all attemptedThis is completely unacceptable! A complaint was made to the representative we had been dealing with "[redacted]" and a promise to correct the problem amongst all the others was again made by this man who now is seen as someone that just tells customers anything to get them out his face with no real guarantee or obligation to satisfy a paying customerNo level of priority was shown in correcting this problem and upon bringing the car back in to have it repainted because the first job was not satisfactory on June 3rdIt is now June 9th and again the car has not be startedMaaco has already collected over $for service and the best possible paint job is already in expectationMaaco was a name I could trust but I will never recommend any person I know to go thereI have a large family and we need two carsWe have resorted to one vehicle and this is throwing a wrench in our day to day activitiesI want the job I was promisedDesired Settlement: Maaco promised the highest quality paint job in addition to minor repairs on the vehicle and they have already been paidthis is all I ask for with the exception of the request for top priority to be utilized in addressing this matterI have already excercised reserve and extreme patience in dealing with this company and demand the service they promoteIt is sensless for [redacted] to have suggested for me to bring my car if it was simply to have it sit in their warehouse collecting dust

Review: in the end maaco scammed me for over 3k and cost me an additional thoundsands in repair cost to both cars. They damaged body, interior, glass.

on 6-26-13 I brought my two 1966 Mustang into macco for paint and body work. I was told it would be one weeek for repairs. I stressed I needed cars back ASAP within one week or I would take them else where. two weeks latter cars are not finished. I complianed to the owner & gave them another week this time car where painted but in worse shape then what they where in when I dropped them off. Excessive paint and boddy damage to both cars, they had got paint on the interior of these classic cars, on the trim, glass rims and tires. The body work which I paid for was incomplete. I made a complaint with the owner he said they would fix both cars so I left them there and was told I would recieve them back in one week. Another two weeks go by date is 7/21/13 I go in to pick up cars and they both haven't even been touched and the paint started to peel and seperate on both cars due to lazy prep work. One of the cars appears they attempted to respray and cut corners which caused major body damage to my car due to not taping off the car correctly. Paint got into the interior of the car costing me over 1k in repairs to the car. I had addresseed these issues to both the owner and manager they said they would fix them within a few days. I went back a few days after and they didn't touch either car, when I was there I noticed that the paint started to peel on the other car as well and there was over spray all over the car due to them painting and doing body work around my car. I immediately got my cars out of there due to fear of further damage. These are classic cars that are not replaceable, I asked for a full refund and was deneyed. They refused to give my money back in the end I suffered over 5k in dammages in just repair cost to both cars not even counting repainting the cars due to there neglect. I paid them a total of 2,750 for both cars to be painted and preped correctly which was not done. Lack of performance & care, I have taken these cars to another professional for a 2nd opinion and was told the cars where damaged to paint failure and bad prep work. They repaired the car without painting them I suffered 5,200 in damages total on both cars just to fix there mistakes. They never full filled there agreement, I was lied too and taken avantage of. I have text messages of our conversations and whitness statements from my business partner that went there as well with me.Desired Settlement: full refund on both cars for paint work that was not completed correctly.

Review: I had my car painted orginally on 10-6-08 by the spring it had problems of flaking everywhere so I was told to bring it back. I brought it back on 5-6-11 to get redone because he was busy. It took a month to get back and I had problems starting agin in less than 1 month. Paint bubbling I never had rust on this car before , and now I 'm gettin rust only in the locations they didn't paint and seal properly.. They also painted my seat belts in the front. Sprayed primer on my door jams which I paid to get painted right the first time now there is dull spots on them. And cut slices in my back windows cutting away the paper that covered the windows. None of those should have happened with replacing the paintjob. Now the paint is so thick I would have to get it stripped to put a new layer of paint on.On 8-31-12 [redacted] the owner had me drive up to see the car and agreed to give me the amount of $506.69 back if I wrote a letter releasing responsibility. I wrote the letter and heard nothing I called at least 3 times after writing the letter 9-19 @ 11:04, 9-20-12 @ 10:56, and on 10-3-12 left messages with [redacted] for [redacted] to call me. Also left messages with [redacted] on 10-19-12 @ 11:43, 10-22-12 @ 10:34, 11-2-12 @ 1:05, and on 11-12-12 @n 11:15 spoke with [redacted] and said left numerous messages please have him call me. Then in Nov. on the 28th [redacted] says it was miss placed letter could I send another. So I faxed the letter on 11-28-12 and have heard nothing again.Desired Settlement: I would like both monies I paid for both jobs now the first on 10-6-08 of $1573.94 and on 5-6-11 of $506.89 which totals $2080.83 since I still need my vehicle to be stripped and repainted.

Review: I took my car to the establishment to have a new bumper put on and painted. I turned the car over to them on the evening of june 25, 2015. They had problems with the bumper, no one never called or phoned. Finally when they got that straight. I contacted them last monday, they said I could pick the car up. But they painted it the wrong color. I goes to stop by their shop to see what's happening. Now they have another problem. They tell me they have someone working on it. I drive around back to their lot and no one is near the car. Its blocked in by other cars no one is working on it all. The whole time these to men [redacted] and [redacted] are giggling and snickering like two school girls. They are totally messing me over and they think its funny. I have never been so humiliated in my life! Today I still don't have my car. They told me in will be ready wednesday. I don't believe them or trust them. Will you please help me get my car back!Desired Settlement: FINISH THE JOB ASAP

Review: I took my car to this body shop to repair hail damage.

When the car was returned to me here is a list of the issues.

1.Air bags disconnected

2.Globs of paint on the body

3.Paint on every window seal

4.Dirt in the paint

5.Painted over door locks

6.Paint on my tires

7.Drip marks

8.Uneven painting.

9.Paint feels like sand paper in places

10.Did not put pin striping back on.

11.Interior of the car was filthy. When I opened the car windows there was a large plume of dust.

12.Body panels misaligned.

13.The paint has an orange peel texture.

The car looks worse now than when it had hail damageDesired Settlement: I feel obligated to offer them a chance to repair the car. I will need a rental car for the entire duration of my repair. If the car is not repaired properly, I will need a full refund in addition to the cost of repair to undo their damage.

And I would like a written apology for returning my car to me in an unsafe condition.

Review: Maaco painted my car not even a year ago, when my car was painted the painted it the WRONG color, Took off my paint strips and argued with me saying my car had NO paint strips....Had to show them a picture. When my car was painted, they painted RED on my BLACK trim, and BLACK on my RED trim, I told them about what they had done to my car and one of the employees stated, "nothing is going to be perfect." Excuse me, I paid well over $1,000 to get my car painted and some cosmetic damage fixed. Maaco has RUINED a $20,000 car, they reuse to do anything about it, they will not return calls, emails, or even letters. My 300$ paint strips were replaced with crappy 10$ Paint strips.Desired Settlement: I want a complete over haul of the paint job which they screwed up. My whole car needs to be repainted Molten Red. The dealership [redacted], told me when they seen the paint job, that to fix it, it would cost close to 2,000$ to fix the paint back to Molten Red, and to also, redo the paint strips, I also request, that since maaco screwed up the color on my car, to pay for a rental car while my car is getting fixed.
