Merchants' Credit Guide Company Reviews (201)

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms*** concerns. Upon receipt of the complaint, we asked the provider to review the eligibility of Ms*** coverage. When they researched the payor's system, they found that Ms*** has two IDs with the payor. One did not
show eligibility and the other showed the claim was eligible. The payor is now billing the claim under the ID # that shows Ms*** claim was eligible. Our client has asked us to return the claim from our system, close the account and delete the collection item from Ms*** credit report. On 5/20/16, we closed the account and deleted the item from her credit reportA letter confirming this deletion will be sent to Ms***

The FDCPA & FCRA require collection agent notify consumer of alleged debt prior to collection activity
Merchants did not notify me I have never received notice of any alleged debt via this collection agency
Merchants placed derogatory information on both *** and *** I sent a letter requesting validation of the debt per FDCPA/FCRA - Merchants has been unable to validate the alleged debt, ( I spoke with them personally and this was confirmed 4/25/- Mr***) but Merchants WILL NOT remove the derogatory information from both credit reports
I sent a second letter notifying merchants that their unwillingness to cease collection activity as the FDCPA requires, is unlawful Merchants still has not stopped collection activity
My credit reports (*** & ***) should be updated ASAP - removing the collection which per the law

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr*** concerns. We received this account back on 9/5/14. We have spoken to Mr *** on several occasions. He never told us this was for a Workers Comp injury. For the record, this is not a hospital account. This is
for the radiologist who read the x-rays or scansToday, we will reach out to the credit bureaus to have this collection item deleted from his credit reports. In addition, we will send a letter to Mr*** confirming this deletion.*** ***, PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Co

We received Mr*** complaint on 6/7/16. On 6/8/16, we sent the deletion request to all the credit bureaus we previously reported to. The Audit Control number we received confirming the deletion request was 79859549. We do not have control over the timing of how fast the credit bureaus process these deletion requests. Upon receipt of Mr*** latest response, and to ensure the deletion , we sent another deletion request on 6/15/16, Audit Control number 79961906. Again, we do not have any control over how fast the credit bureaus process these requests. We will continue to follow up to make sure these deletions finally get processed. One word of caution, if Mr*** is using a "third-party" to monitor these deletions, and not the credit bureaus themselves, some of these third-party credit monitoring companies do not update their databases in real-time. There may be further delay before they update. Please let me know if Mr*** continues to experience further delay. We will get these deleted as promised.*** ***PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Co

HelloMy name is Torie *** and I am filing this complaint with the Revdex.com to have the hospital bill collections removed off of my credit because I have been paying my monthly agreed upon $payment due to being a retired disabled Federal employee and I have a letter from the original creditor dated, June 05, 2018, from Innovative Healthcare Systems that states the following: Effective May 31, 2018, this payment plan has been transferred to Merchants Credit Guide Company for processing and monitoringThe agreed monthly payment amount shown above will continue to be honoredThis transfer does not place the balance in collectionsThere has been a lot of back and forth with trying to get this removed off of my credit, so I will try to shorten it as much as I canWhen I spoke with a male representative on June 26, 2018, with Merchants Credit Guide, I was given my file number to be able to go online and make my paymentsAfter I had been making my monthly $payments from June 26-Octob

I recently noticed this collection item was on my credit reports times....many of the items are on there to times a piece for the same item, as well as these items were paid via workmanscomp...I recently contacted this collection agency to resolve these fraudulent items, as well as ask them to be removedI informed them that I did not sign anything saying that my personal medical information could be sold, as well as notified them that these bills have been paid to the original creditors...In turn I was met with very rude comments and not receiving any resolution....The party on the other end only wanted payment and could not even provide me with any bills, paperwork etc...Of course they could not because these bills have been paid....I feel they are fraudulently reporting negative and inaccurate information to the credit bureaus and are not willing to resolve any matter unless I pay for something that has already been paid.....The Fair Credit Reporting Act states that they

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms***' concerns. Please allow me to set the record straight. When I reviewed the account histories of the several transactions placed with our company for collection for Ms***, a completely different set of facts came up.
Yes, we have the same address in our system that Ms*** provided in her complaint. And the same phone number. Over the last years, we have sent letters to Ms*** and we have made telephone calls to her. Prior to January of this year, she returned our call once. Prior to today, 2/6/17, she made six payments toward her accounts. And today, she paid off all accounts, prior to receiving the documentation she requested in her complaint. I will still send her the requested documentation, but I would like the record to show that we dispute the allegations of Ms***' complaint

you are reporting a collection accounts on my credit bureaus fileI am a victim of identity theftThis is not my account

Ms*** account for $has been paid down to $15.00. Unfortunately, one of the payments received on 12/28/for $to pay the balance off was returned NSF. There is a $charge for NSF checks. The balance remains at $40.55: $for the account balance and
$for the NSF fee. On the other accounts she refers to, she was sent copies of these bills twice, the first time on 10/25/and the second time on 9/26/17. At the time services were received, there was no insurance coverage provided. She may need to double check whether she was covered on the dates of service or whether she can still provid the insurance information at the time of service. If the insurance was not provided at the time of service, it may be past the required time to file a claim, thus causing the accounts to be moved to a self-pay status. We remain happy to work with Ms*** to work out a manageable payment schedule or answer any further questions to resolve these accounts. Dan ***, PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Company

Upon receipt of Mr*** rejection, I followed up with the Orthopaedic group for the details of the insurance payment. They verified that Mr*** is correct, that there was no remaining balance on the accounts after the insurance payment for the accounts placed with us for collection. Again, the Orhtopaedic account has been closed and removed from Mr*** credit report. As for the *** account, *** was sold to another company over a year ago. The account information we needed to verify Mr*** accounts was archived. When the request was made to retrieve the signed financial policy, they could not locate the document. With that, I informed *** that we were closing the account and removing it from Mr*** credit reports. Which we did. We have verified with all three credit bureaus, ***, ***, and *** ***, that these collection items have been deleted. If Mr*** is using a third-party credit monitoring service to monitor these deletions, they are not up-to-date, real-time with the credit bureaus. If he wants to verify the deletions, he will have to verify directly with the credit bureaus. I apologize to Mr*** for the miscommunication with our clients

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/24) */
Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms***'s complaintUpon receipt of the complaint I immediately checked with our client to see if they ever received any money from a personal injury lawsuitAs of 9/22/15, they have not
received any money towards these now self-pay balancesI will send a copy of the statement we received from our client to Ms***If Ms*** can provide me with her attorney's name and number, I will be happy to make a call to confirm the status of the lawsuit
For the record, we are Business Associates with our client and therefore are able to receive and use for the purpose of payment of the accountWe are in complete compliance with HIPAA XXX-XXX
At this point, we are unable to delete the trade lines from Ms ***'s credit bureau reportsHowever, if she can show that she won her personal injury case, we will delete our trade lines immediately

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr*** concerns. We have two accounts under Mr*** name from the hospital. One for $and one for $145.17. After speaking to the hospital about these accounts, they have agreed to close the account for
$283.56. We have deleted this account from the credit bureaus. Please be aware that sometimes it takes the credit bureaus a few days to process the changes to their database. The other account is the result of an unmet deductible. The $is the balance after the insurance payments and adjustments. We are sending Mr*** a copy of the account statement so he can verify this with his insurance company. The $is still due and will remain on his credit report. We will be happy to work with Mr*** with a manageable payment plan if needed. *** ***

Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms *** concerns. Upon receipt of Ms*** complaint we immediately contacted our client. Due to the age of the account, they have agreed to write off any balance. We have closed the account and sent notice to the credit bureaus to
remove this item from Ms*** credit report. Ms *** will receive a letter from us confirming this deletion

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/10/13) */
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr ***'s concernsThere is nothing fraudulent about the account we reported to the credit bureausIt is for the *** group that saw Mr*** on 8/22/and
8/23/Mr*** made two payments on the account before it was written off to bad debt and referred to collectionToday, 10/13/14, I mailed a copy of the account documentation from our client, showing the dates of service, the providers names, the description of services, the amount of the charges and the payments applied to his accountWe are happy to work with Mr*** to come to a mutually agreeable payment schedule to resolve this account

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/10/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Merchants' Credit Guide is a fraud! Its a scam to collect money from innocent individuals and ruin their credit! Its company should be shut down immediately and legal action brought against those involvedAnyone that is employed by this fraudulent company should be ashamedCheating, swindling, and deceiving people is UNACCEPTABLE in Gods eyes and one day you will be punished for your actionsUntil then......BEWARE of MERCHANTS' CREDIT GUIDE Co

In reference to previous Revdex.com complaint #*** on 6/6/(listed as 6/26/on the Revdex.com website) Merchants Credit Guide is again erroneously attempting to collect on an account sent to them in error
As stated in the previous complaint, pursuant to Illinois Administrative Code:
"If an eligible individual is entitled to medical assistance with respect to a service for which a third party is liable for payment, the provider furnishing the service may not seek to collect from the individual payment for that service if the total liability of the third party for that service is at least equal to the amount payable for that service by the Department;" (Illinois Administrative Code, Title Chapter I Section(d))
The medical provider has been provided with the appropriate information to properly submit for payment from the responsible 3rd party but has still failed to do soAs such they may not seek to collect from meOnce again, Merchants Credit Guide has no legal authority

I have recently contacted Merchants' Credit Guide about a bill that is currently in collections for services provided on April 16, I was told to contact my insurance to possibly resolve the issueToday I received paperwork detailing that the bill was not my responsibilityMy insurance states that "the client's eligibility was updated on 08/14/The provider has six months from the eligibility update to submit a claimThe provider cannot bill, demand, or otherwise seek reimbursement from me for services for which reimbursement is available or for which reimbursement would have been available if the provider had timely and properly billed the Department(Illinois Administrative Code, *** *** *** (h)) The provider has not billed Healthcare and Family Services for this date of servicePlease call *** and speak with the billing deparment for further information."

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr*** concerns. First, allow me to set the record straight. The treatment received from our client was not due to a work related injury, therefore not a workers' comp claim. This is clearly indicated on the registration filled out by
Mr*** Second, Mr*** received a series of treatments over a three month period of time resulting in over transactions, some of which were for the same type of treatment on a different date of service, thus **king it appear that there are "duplicate" claims reported to the credit bureau, but they are not duplicate transactions. The collection items Mr*** speaks of were the transactions that qualified from a balance standpoint to be reported. There are **ny more smaller balance transactions/accounts that were not reported. Third, Mr*** insurance company paid on several of these transactions leaving a co-pay or "applied to deductible" self-pay portion. **ny other transactions were denied because the insurance company needed additional information from Mr*** to process the claim. Our client called Mr*** to request the additional information needed to process the claims, but he did not return the calls. Mr*** **y still have an opportunity to provide this information to his insurance company for them to process these claims, but he will have to call his insurance company. If the insurance company re-processes the claims, there **y still be co-pay or applied to deductible amounts due. These accounts have not been paid. There are not any duplicate reports of any transactions. There is nothing fraudulent in our actions. There has been no violation of the Fair Credit Reporting ActThis complaint is the first time we have heard from Mr*** after numerous attempts to contact him.We are sending Mr*** a copy of all the transactions, a copy of his registration and signed financial policy from our client. We would welcome the opportunity to be of assistance in helping him get this **tter resolved.*** *** PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Company
