Merchants' Credit Guide Company Reviews (201)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Sincerely,

We received Mr*** complaint on 6/7/16. On 6/8/16, we sent the deletion request to all the credit bureaus we previously reported to. The Audit Control number we received confirming the deletion request was 79859549. We do not have control over the timing of how fast the credit bureaus process these deletion requests. Upon receipt of Mr*** latest response, and to ensure the deletion , we sent another deletion request on 6/15/16, Audit Control number 79961906. Again, we do not have any control over how fast the credit bureaus process these requests. We will continue to follow up to make sure these deletions finally get processed. One word of caution, if Mr*** is using a "third-party" to monitor these deletions, and not the credit bureaus themselves, some of these third-party credit monitoring companies do not update their databases in real-time. There may be further delay before they updatePlease let me know if Mr*** continues to experience further delay. We will get these deleted as promised*** ***

I recently applied for a loan to purchase a new propertyIt was brought to my attention I have a collection account with Merchants Credit Guide for $which dropped my score points and I no longer qualify as a first time home buyerI have never received any communication or correspondence regarding this account and I do not believe this account is mineFurthermore, I do not have a debt with Merchants Credit GuidePerhaps this is some identity theftI will be filing a formal complaint with the consumer financial protection bureau regarding this companies business practices along with the State Attorney Generals office, and the Federal Trade Commission as this is clearly a violation of the fair credit reporting act

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms*** concerns. There are three accounts. One for the date of service 8/28/for $279.00, another for date of service 9/3/for $279.00, and one for date of service 4/16/for $362.00. Though the provider did not receive the
insurance information at the time of service, they have verified that she was eligible for coverage for the two accounts for $each. The provider verified the third account for $was denied for lack of coverage, resulting in the account becoming a self-pay obligation. We have taken steps to delete the two accounts for $and will send Ms*** letters of confirmation of these deletions. The account for $remains due. We are sending Ms*** the account statement for her review. We suggest Ms*** contact the insurance company to have this reviewed. They may reconsider it. If the provider tries to re-bill the claim, the insurance will deny it again.*** ***PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Company

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms***'s concerns. Ms*** is correct in that we do not own this debt. We work on behalf of our client, the original creditor. We received this account from our client on 10/13/14. Since that time, we have notified Ms***
by mail at her current address and tried several times to contact her by phone at her current phone number. We've never received a response from her until now. We are actually the second collection agency to try and collect this account for our client. Upon receipt of Ms***'s complaint, we called our client to make sure they still showed the same balance of $outstanding. They confirmed the balance of $and said they have not received any payments from Ms***. We have obtained a copy of the account statement and signed agreement to send to Ms***. I suspect she may be confusing this account with some other account she may be paying. We stand ready to work with Ms*** to come to a manageable resolution. Alleged company failed to send me legal and lawful documents proving I owed anythingSince I did this over and over with no response I assume that debt been dischargeI was getting help from consumer credit counseling of Hawaii whom are closing in JuneThey continue to stack on scamming fees and break rules and violate my rights under Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and Statute of Limitations

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms*** concerns. Upon receipt of the complaint, we asked the provider to review the eligibility of Ms*** coverage. When they researched the payor's system, they found that Ms*** has two IDs with the payor. One did not
show eligibility and the other showed the claim was eligible. The payor is now billing the claim under the ID # that shows Ms*** claim was eligible. Our client has asked us to return the claim from our system, close the account and delete the collection item from Ms*** credit report. On 5/20/16, we closed the account and deleted the item from her credit reportA letter confirming this deletion will be sent to Ms*** *** *** PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Co

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr*** concerns. Please see Mr*** previous Revdex.com complaint #***. We responded to Mr*** previous complaint by forwarding him the requested information to his listed address on 7/20/15. We also stopped calling him
as he requested. The accounts remain outstanding and were reported to the credit bureaus. Since that time, two more accounts have been turned over to our company from the same client. On 8/13/15, we sent him a letter informing him of these two additional accounts. We have not received any response from Mr*** to any of this correspondence. Today, I received account information from our client on all accounts under Mr*** name. I will send it to him tomorrow morning, 11/4/15. Upon receipt of this information, we look forward to hearing from Mr*** with any questions and / or payment.Dan ***PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Co

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr***' concerns. On October 23, 2014, when we called Mr***, we were told never to contact him again. It is our practice that this "Cease and Desist" supersedes any subsequent request for any type of communication. Therefore,
Mr*** is correct, we did not provide him the validation of the debt. In the interest of good faith and resolution of this matter, today, we placed the order with the credit bureaus to remove the collection item from Mr***' credit reports. Please allow the credit bureaus a few days to update their databases. We have mailed Mr*** a copy of the Universal Data Form sent to the credit bureaus confirming the deletion. In addition, we have mailed Mr*** the account documentation he originally requested. Upon review of this documentation, it is our hope that Mr*** will resolve the debt accordingly.

In response to Ms*** 10/3/request for validation of the accounts in question, we ordered the documentation from our clients. The client for account *** responded with the account information requested and we forwarded that information to Ms*** on 10/31/16, within the
days required. The other client for account *** did not respond in time. They sent us the documentation after the days had expired. On 11/21/16, the account number *** was deleted from Ms*** credit reports. A letter confirming this deletion was sent to her on 11/23/16. In the interest of consumer relations, today, 11/28/16, we sent the deletion for the account *** to the credit bureaus. Again, we will send written confirmation of this deletion to Ms*** as well. So you know, it generally takes the credit bureaus a few days to update their databases

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr***'s concerns
To clarify the circumstances, we are the collection agency for ER physician groupWe are tasked with trying to resolve the self-pay balances that come to us from their
billing departmentThe ER physicians are not part of the hospitalThey are a separate group of doctors that provide and bill for their services apart from any other hospital and / or physician group
Our earlier communication in December of 2013, Mr*** indicated that the insurance company had already paidHe was going to follow up with his insurance companyWe were later informed that the treatment was due to an accident and that the details of the accident were holding up the payment of the claimRecently we heard from Mr*** due to the account being reported to the credit bureauShortly after that, we heard from our client to put the account on hold while they investigate the claimOn May 9, 2014, we received a "recall" notice from our client telling us to close and return the accountAt that time we also sent a deletion request to all the credit bureaus that we previously reported this account to

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms*** complaint. There has been no violation of Ms*** or the patient's privacy under HIPAA. Merchants' Credit Guide Company is a contracted Business Associate of *** *** Hospital. Ms*** is correct in that she
does not have a contract or agreement with Merchants' Credit Guide Company, but she does have one with our client and the creditor of this account, *** *** Hospital. We have sent her an itemized statement of the account twice because she asked for them. We will now send her a copy of the signed agreement. As for the balance due, the insurance coverage paid the majority of the charges. The remaining balance is self-pay. As an act of goodwill, we will remove this collection item from Ms*** credit reports. In turn, we expect Ms*** to review the documentation we are sending her and take responsibility for paying this account. Dan ***, PresidentMerchants' Credit Guide Company

After reviewing my credit report, around November 2016, I noticed Merchants Credit Guide reporting a negative account and immediately disputed it with all three major credit bureausI have also contacted Merchants Credit Guide Company twice and they are still reporting a negative account on my credit report without verifying this account nor mailing me any documents to show proof I owe this alleged debtI will be attaching all copies mailed and received from Merchants Credit Guide Company and have never received any response from my last letter dated December nor have they reported to the credit bureaus that I disputed this accountThey have clearly violated my rights under the FCRA and FDCPA

Merchants' Credit Guide has erroneously reported negative information to the credit bureaus due to the provider not submitting for payment correctlyThe alleged amount is NOT my responsibility
"If an eligible individual is entitled to medical assistance with respect to a service for which a third party is liable for payment, the provider furnishing the service may not seek to collect from the individual payment for that service if the total liability of the third party for that service is at least equal to the amount payable for that service by the Department;" (Illinois Administrative Code, Title Chapter I Section(d))
The medical provider did NOT properly submit for payment from the responsible 3rd party and as such may NOT seek to collectTherefore Merchants Credit Guide has NO legal authority to attempt to collect or to place derogatory marks on my creditI am fully prepared to take legal action against the company if they do not cease and desist collection acti
