Please be advised that we have contacted the customer back with additional information on her case. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Customer's camera will be re-evaluated today and he will be contacted (via email) with a resolution.

An email has been sent to this customer on 9/**/15 with a prepaid shipping label.  We are requesting to see the rifle scope for an evaluation.

We have been waiting for a part for this repair and the part is due to  arrive on Monday, August [redacted].  The repair will be a "rush" and customer's camera will be shipped to him by overnight shipping with adult signature required.

Customer was sent a prepaid overnight shipping label to return her camera.  We advised customer we will be replacing her camera but first she needs to return her camera.  No further action can be taken until there is movement on her shipping label.  At this time she has not sent back her camera.

We have made several attempts to contact this customer and request she send camera into Service for a re-evaluation.   A prepaid shipping label was sent as well. Emails were send on 9/** and again on 9/**/15.  Also a voicemail message was left on 9/** but to date there has been no...

response from customer.

The customer's lens was shipped back to him on 7/*/15 and scheduled to arrive 7/**/15 by end of day.  A tracking number has been provided via email.  As previously mentioned, the repair and warranty for this imported lens is through B&H Photo and not Nikon.

The customer agreed to a service approval to pre-authorize the costs for the repair of his lens and provided his credit card information.  The lens was repaired however he was not satisfied with Nikon policy or the repair costs.  For good customer relations we have contacted this customer on 7/*/16 and offered a repair discount.  It appears the customer is satisfied that his issue was resolved but does not agree with Nikon repair costs or policy
 This is not entirely true and the only reason Nikon Customer Service called me back is because she (customer service) said that I put in this Revdex.com complaint.  So to state here that it was "for good customer relations" that is a total flat out lie as she clearly stated that it was because of this Revdex.com complaint. With this noted, there are additional discrepancies.  She said that I should have read the "Fine Print" and it stated that the prices were estimated costs and subject to change.  As a consumer that led me to believe that this was replacement cost or the highest cost incurred.  So it was not a pre-authorization as stated above and the bill I received even stated on it that this was not covered by warranty and needed my approval.  The refurbished VR II lens that I could purchase for $89.99 plus $2.99 shipping was the newer model not the older model VR lens that I have.  She (customer service) had no interest at all in anything I had to say or the poor customer service that led to the Revdex.com action.  All she was concerned about was satisfying the Revdex.com complaint with total disregard to the consumer.  She offered to reimburse the difference between their cost and what I could purchase the refurbished lens at.  I agreed only to get this over with.  Now I am told it will take at least two billing cycles to receive a refund.  A credit card charge only takes a few days to credit an account, so I guess this is Nikon's way to again take it out on the consumer and shows total disregard for the consumer and any attempt at caring about anything other than satisfying this complaint. I have purchased many Nikon products in the past and that has now ended as there are many competitors out there with products that are just as good and will provide a much better customer service to the consumers. I have not received a credit back as promised and until then this complaint is still active.

A customer service representative contacted [redacted] by phone on 3/**/16 and offered a resolution.  This customer appears to be satisfied.

Service did not find an issue with the camera and suggested the customer use a new charger.   An complimentary EH-71P charger was sent to customer and it was delivered on  9/**/15.

This customer has been contacted on 3/*/17 to offer a resolution. RMAs and a shipping return label have been issued.

Customer was contacted via email on 4/**/16 and offered a prepaid shipping label to send in his camera for a complimentary repair for good customer relations.

The warranty does not apply to any defects or damages directly or indirectly performed by unauthorized personnel.

This customer purchased an imported camera from [redacted] Camera and has been advised to contact [redacted] for service.

but will soon discontinue use of their equipment and all future plans of being a Nikon consumer. The way in which they falsely advertise, do not disclose full details of their refund guarantee policies are not a business practice I feel comfortable with making any future purchases from, nor will I suggest Nikon as reliable and trusting business to anyone who has interest in purchasing from their company.
