National Small Loan Reviews (%countItem)

I have been receiving calls and texts from this company all day. They have been leaving messages about applying for a loan. I however was not interested so I never answered the phone. Then, I receive a message that states, "Hi ***! This is *** from National Small Loan. You have been approved for the loan amount of $500 which will be in your account on 3/16/2020. I never applied for a loan and I never gave this company any of my information. I would like this matter dealt with immediately. This is a fraud and scam on all levels. I tried emailing and calling the hot line and they would not answer.

The Company takes these types of inquiries very seriously and would like toprovide you with the below information.

The Company issued a loan after receiving a loan application in the complainant’s name. Thecomplainant states that he/she did not apply for a loan, however. If the complainant believes he/she hasbeen the victim of identity theft, he/she can provide the following to the Company to further investigate:(1) A completed identity theft report, which can be found at the Federal Trade Commission’s website,https://www.identitytheft.gov/Assistant# or a police report outlining the alleged identity theft; and (2)proof of identification, such as a copy of a driver’s license, a copy of a government-issued identificationcard, or social security number.

The information can be sent to ***. If the customer has any additionalquestions, he/she can call the Company at ***.

Additional information about this investigation process can be found on the FTC’s website:https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/features/feature-0014-identity-theft. The FTC also published thisresource: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/pdf-0119-guide-assisting-id-theft-victims.pdf.

Don't use this business. I was in a very hard spot and against my better judgment took out a $500.00 short term loan with National Small Loan on 2/13. They took the first payment out of my account on 2/21 for $146.59. They took another payment on 3/6 in the amount of $146.59. I called them to get the payoff since they had already taken $293.18. The payoff was $565.34. I asked if that included the payment they were taking today and she said no. They had already processed the payment deducted today, and the Early payoff amount was $565.34. So they took $793.18 out of my account for a loan less than 30 days. They are truly taking advantage of people who already have a hardship. This is terrible and should be illegal. Now I know better.

This loan cost me way more than what I needed it for.

They are charging me $2,800.00 for a $600.00 loan and I was told that I could pay it off in 2 payments and to call and let them know when I wanted to pay it off. I called them last month and no one returned my call and I called them this morning and was advised to send them an email which I did do.

I paid $674.00 to them for a $600.00 loan. They want to settle with me for $1093.00 which brings a total of 1727.00 which is still too much for a $600.00 loan. I am only willing to pay one more payment of $337.00 and that is my final offer!

I have been trying to contact this company to pay off my loan since 1/29/2020, and always was told a manager would contact me and to send an email. After several attempts they finally email me another customer information. Then I called them again and the customer service rep told me they would debit my account on 2/7/2020 of the biweekly payment of 87.95 then take the payoff balance of 307.90 pay on 2/11/2020 and they didn’t do either, and they have block me access to my online account talking about I’m late on a payment which is not true. I have emails and phone call records to prove my complaint is legit. I call them on 2/12/2020 and I can’t get anyone to talk to me On why they want allow me to pay off my loan. This company is a fraud!!

Customer requested a payoff quote for 2/11/2020, which the Customer was provided. The Company responded to Customer’s complaint e-mail by e-mail on 2/6/2020 and advisedCustomer that someone from the Company had attempted to reach her by phone after each voicemessage left, and that those calls were not answered. After the Revdex.com complaint was received, Customerreached out to the Company and agreed to settle the account for the remaining principal balance. Theone-time payment has been set up for 2/14/2020 and the account will be closed once the transaction issuccessfully cleared. The customer can call the Company at *** if there are further questions or concerns

I took out a loan with the company that was for a total of $500.00. I agreed understanding that this was a loan with a very high interest rate but there was no mention of exactly how much the loan would total after interest expense. When my first payment was due I received a pay sheet informing me that I must pay the loan back in monthly installments of $318.66 for 8 months. That has more than tripled the loan amount. I decided to get a payoff quote to try and avoid all that interest. On January 26th I was told the payoff was approximately $847.00 Today only 2 weeks later I am told the payoff is now approximately $976.00. I was told this was an insurance method to make sure they are paid off quicker. I explained that I was on a fixed income from social security disability and they stated that wasn't their concern. I believe these people are preying on desperate people and taking advantage of their desperate situation

To address the customer’s complaint:• Customer lodged an internal complaint on 1/31/2020.? The Company responded to that complaint on 2/6/2020 by e-mail, explaining to Customerthe legal structure of the loan agreement entered into by the Company and Customer. Inthat e-mail, the Company offered to settle Customer’s account for $587.91 to be paidbiweekly until paid off, with payments to begin on 2/21/2020.? Customer called NSL on 2/7/2020 and spoke with a customer service representative.Customer acknowledged the settlement offered sent to her and wanted to respond tothe e-mail. Customer advised that there was no option to respond to the e-mail. Therepresentative advised Customer to compose a new e-mail and send it to***. Customer thanked the representative and hung up thephone.? Customer contacted the Company on 2/10/2020 and advised that she accepts thesettlement offer. However, Customer advised she wanted to begin making payments onthe settlement amount beginning 2/11/2020, which is earlier than what the offerrequired. The Company accommodated this request and set up the appropriate ACHpayments and sent Customer a confirmation e-mail that day at 3:38 PM detailing thepayment schedule.? The Revdex.com complaint was filed 2/10/2020, the date on which the Company sent the e-maildetailing the new payment schedule. There is no record of any communication fromCustomer from the time that the e-mail was sent to when the complaint was received bythe Company. This complaint may have been filed prior to Customer receiving the e-mail from the Company.Customer may believe this issue is now resolved, based on the content of the complaint. SCAM!!!!!!!!
I never applied or inquired about this, but yet I get repeated phone calls, voice mails and text messages from people with different accents and different phone numbers even after blocking the numbers. They don't stop calling, texting or sending emails.

I have attempted on multiple occasions via phone calls and e-mail to resolve the issue of accessing my customer portal. When I attempt to log in to customer portal, I get a message “customer not found”. Yet they contact me at the same e-mail to remind me they will be taking payment on my loan. When I attempt to contact by phone, I am told all customer service representatives are busy and they will call me back. Suffice as to say I have NEVER received a return phone call. When I attempt to process an e-mail to them to request will never process. I have also attempted to call the parent company Lac du Flambeau Tribal at *** only to have them transfer me back to National Small Loan. Total non-transparency runaround.

I received a loan from National Small Loans for $300 second week of January 2020. I called in January 20 to pay off the loan which was $366. I gave the representative my banking account information and she said everything was went through. On January 23, 2020 I received a text stating I need to make a payment on the same loan. So I called them the next business day to pay off the loan. A different receptionists answered the phone stating give me your name and phone number and a representative will call you within the next business day. They are not allowing clients to make payments or pay off these loans. National Small Loans does not have an online account for borrowers nor a physical address. Beware they will rob you legally in a unlawful way.

Although Customer did provide the Company with information for a debit card payment, therewere two issues: (1) the transaction failed due to an invalid card number, and (2) the Company policyrequires authorization from Customerin the form of an exact date and amount for the transaction in orderto process the payment. It is unclear whether the agent typed in the incorrect card number or the errorwas on Customer’s end, but since Customer must call in to authorize the amount and date for thetransaction, the agent can double-check the card information the Company has on file prior to theprocessing of the transaction. The Company is still willing to honor the payoff quote of $356.18. Thecustomer can call the Company at 1-877-807-4827 to arrange payment options.

I have tried reaching out to this company on more than one occasion to make my payment from another account because the account on file has been flagged and frozen for fraud based on the withdrawals from the company. After calling the number provided, I was told to leave a message and to respond to the text messages. I have done both and been going in circles to the point of receiving fees on my account due to the lack of response. It is seeming more and more like a scam. How do you have a customer service rep answer the phone to direct you to leaving a message because no one is available, but will call me back and it never happens. I’m sorry, but I want no part of this scam and want them out of my account.

I checked my bank account, and on dormant account that is not used, there was a deposit of 500.00 on 12/18/2019, and there has been a withdrawal of 146.59 on 01/03. I did not want this loan, and the original money was not touched. I tried calling the company and was told I would be called back several times. I have yet to receive a call back or a response to my email. I talked to a receptionist who told me that she did not have the authority to transfer my call to anyone at the company. Again, I did not apply for this loan, and do not want the money.

To whom it may concern,
In October 2019, I received a small loan in the amount of $500.00 from national small loan which was deposited into my account the next day. I was informed that $146.59 was to be withdrawn from my account biweekly on my pay day until I finished paying the loan , when I asked how long that was going to be I was just told not long because my loan is only $500.00 but never Was I made understood that I would end up paying over $2,300.00 , if they explained that to me I would have never accepted the loan no matter how hard of a time I was in. I really needed the money but I would have never signed such to end up paying over 4 times the amount I will receive. When I final realized what was going on I saw that interest rate was at 861% which is impossible, there is no way any company is allowed to charge such high interest rate. I already made 5 payments on the amount of $146.59 so a total of $ 732.95. Even at 30% which is the highest interest allowed in the state of New Jersey, I would have only paid a total of $650.00 back . I cannot continue paying an amount I never received or used, I feel being robbed . Please help me solve this issue. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The business response did not address my concerns, I want the remaining balance to be canceled. I noticed countless other customers’ complaint online against the business showing that they are not really taking steps that should be required to assure customers know what they are getting into. When someone reach out to you for financial help, it’s a serious matter, so they need help! They don’t need to be tricked into an even higher debt than they can afford nor should they repay over 4 times what they received from you. In that case you did not provide a service you instead put more stress on the customer reaching out to you during their hard time , you took advantage of a bad but sadly normal situation for average individuals. The business need to explain their deal better and thoroughly in other to give customers an option to consciously accept or decline the offer made. You never know what people are going through so stop taking avantage of others hardships.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit about this company. They sent me a mailer that I was pre-approved for up to $1200, but when contacted by the company after submitting my application, the agent said they only give out maximum $500 loans. This is false advertising, and I cancelled my loan with her over the phone only to receive an email that my loan was denied. I cancelled it!!
Additionally, NationalSmallLoan first called me at 5:12 AM Pacific Time this morning (!) to ask why I didn't sign the agreement over the weekend, then texted me at 5:26 AM. They called again at 10 AM which is when I talked to the agent. Even more so, they continually harassed me with at least 20 emails and text messages in the past 2 days since I applied on Saturday. This company needs to be shut down by the Feds.

To Whom It May Concern,
Please note the following compliant was sent to the Revdex.com on 12/24/2019.
Account#: *** Billing Issues
I took out a $250.00 loan and was told the payments would be $73.30 biweekly until the loan amount was paid off. Today I logged on the check the balance which is now $318.00. then after checking if payday loans are illegal in the state of New Jersey. By New Jersey law, short-term interest rates are capped at 30 percent.

Long-Distance Payday Lending
The Internet provides a way for payday lending operations to offer loans to New Jersey residents. An online lender may extend such a loan without verifying the borrower's state of residence, and require repayment by an electronic debit direct from the borrower's bank account. This is also barred by New Jersey law, however, which covers a lender "wherever located," who induces a borrower to a payday loan arrangement by phone, mail, broadcast advertisement or over the Internet.

New Jersey Cap on Usury Rates
By New Jersey law, short-term interest rates are capped at 30 percent.

Resolution:
I am requesting the following from the company:
-Please do not contact me by phone calls.
- Please do not contact my employer and anyone else associated with me, including friends, neighbors, etc.
- Stop all collection actions against me. Stop any bad credit reporting against me based on this illegal loan.

I would like this bill to be considered paid in in full with no negative remarks on or towards my credit.

The Company issues loans in accordance with the Tribe’s Tribal Consumer Financial Services Regulatory Code and it is licensed under Tribal law. The customer’s loan agreement provided that it would be governed by the laws of the Tribe, without regard to the laws of any state. The interest and fees applicable to the loan are permitted by Tribal law. They were accurately and clearly reflected in the loan agreement that the customer signed before receiving the loan. The customer also received a TILA disclosure that outlined the amount and date of each payment required under the loan agreement. Due to its immunity, the loan is not subject to state law and the Company is not required to be licensed with any state. The customer’s loan is legal.

Although not required to do so, as a courtesy, the Company will reach out to the customer with an offer to resolve their loan.

I took out a $200 payday loan in September with the first payment installment due 10/04/2019. When I attempted to log into the customer portal to retrieve my documentation, I was unable to do so. I tried several times without success. In November, I sent them an email regarding my inability to access my account on line and indicated in the email that I wished to pay the loan off at that time. I never got a response back. Sense then I have made about 8 phone calls to the company trying to get my payoff balance and to make arrangements to pay the loan off. To date no one has replied to any of my messages, I have no idea how many regular payments I have left on this loan, I have no idea of the payoff balance and I have no idea of how to pay this loan off. Everytime I speak to someone, they claim to be a "virtual receptionist" with no access to my account information and all they can do is take a message and have someone get back with me. Emails pretty much go unanswered.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 14039435, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, in there response, they indicated that they attempted to contact me. That was untrue and their failure to respond to my multiple attempts at contact was what drove me to my statement of bringing legal action and is what brought me to the decision to involve the Revdex.com. I have also attempted to contact them since they spoke with the Revdex.com in order to set up an ACH for the payoff and just like before, I am unable to get anyone to accept my phone calls. I get hold messages, and messages indicating that no one is available, promises to be called back, options to leave a voice message and with all of that, I am never able to speak to anyone who can actually assist me. The phone number they provided 1-877-807-4827 is the number that I have been using since I originally began trying to reach them. I will give them until the end of the week, January 10, 2020 to return my call. My last attempt to reach them by phone, today, I was told by recorded message that "All representatives were busy, but if I elected, I could press "1" and receive a call back and not lose my place in line. I selected this option because each time I actually selected the option to continue to hold or to leave a voice message, I never got a response. If I do not hear from them by 01/10/2020 I will purchase a cashiers check for the $214.30 as indicated in the response I received from you and I will have that check sent to the address you provided me in the email. I will also include a copy of the email as proof of the arrangement and have the check sent in a manner that can be tracked.I will reach out to you again should I have any further issues after the check is mailed. I do not think I will be attempting to call them anymore as I have not found much success in this method of communication.

I have service issues contract issues and billing issues with this company! They approved a loan that made me so nervous I don't even remember signing electronically this online loan they were very deceptive about the loan I tried to cancel a few days before thinking it doesn't even comply with the Michigan laws also that I didn't feel that they were following the truth-in-lending I asked them for more information and I received an email from a customer service rep assuring me that I fi pay the loan in full that I would not have to be charged any additional fees or charges or penalties I've been begging to get a payoff amount they refuse to give me one I just got the loan deposited November 29th and it's only December 16th and I can't get them to answer any questions or return any emails without telling me they need more information every time I try to call them a answering service lady picks up and when they call me it immediately goes to voicemail and never comes through as a phone call! I've been begging them to give me a payout amount I borrowed $600 by the end of it it will be three or four thousand dollars I asked them after I make my first payment of $289 what would my payoff be they won't give me an answer but although tell me is only $14 of that $289 will go towards my principal! They have me tied and stuck in this long until August of 2020 I thought with $289 due each month by the third month the 600 would be paid and I would have to suffer the consequences of my bad decision on paying them $270 extra they won't let me out of this loan they won't contact me they keep telling me I manager will call me back and no one is calling me back I'm scared to death I am disabled I can't even afford the terms they have put me in without 100% fully explaining it to me there's no way I'll ever be able to pay these people back please help

[Please type your response here.]I do not accept this response from that company! Every time I tried contacting them sent them emails Etc they would not respond! They would have a recorded message that would tell you they get back with you within a certain amount of time and they never did I would have to re contact them over and over and I will ask my phone company to pull up all the records and the amount of times I had called them! They're telling me because I have spoke with that woman Tia and that she explained everything to me is not factual! She did not explain everything to me sexually or I would not have been so worried and tried to cancel my loan 2 days before! I am not satisfied and I do not accept their offer of contacting me personally because they have yet to do that and I do not believe they will appropriately! The only thing that girl Tia told me was that I would have no further fees penalties or anyting above and beyond what I owed! And that is what I understood! They're trying to tell me that it meant something different ! That her statements to me meant something else! I do not accept.

I will make these payments: On Feb 3rd, March 3rd, and April 3rd --- $200 PAYMENTS. I will call in and make payment on different card.

They're telling me they're happy to work with me and a payment plan but they will not give me details so I will not agree until I have details! They haven't told me any dollar value so I cannot agree to their response! If your advice is to contact them first and then let you know before you close this case I will do that please let me know what you think I should do thank you

Took out a 500 loan under the assumption it would be paid off within a couple months of paying 75$ a week. Well I have paid 1350 and somehow still owe 496$ They call, text and email all the time even when I have requested only emails.

I am writing on behalf of my father who does not speak English. He was tricked into filling his information on this site that made it look like a loan application. There was no declaration on interest rate or anything, not even a declaration that money will automatically be deposited. After he hit apply, he did not get any email of agreement or approval. He later found out more than a month after that this site withdrew $382.40 from his account twice. He was not aware that they deposited $600 without any notification and started withdrawing money as payments. The APR rate they are charging him is 863.95% which was never ever disclosed anywhere. This site is clearly a scam that is deceiving people

There are various cases of violation of consumer rights by deceptive practices around payday loans by hiding behind Tribal law. Recent court decisions have turned that around. See below where such a case was decided against the tribal law claim. ***Regardless, this is still a violation of Credit Practices Rule and Dodd-Frank Protection act. I recorded the entire loan process again with screenshots to show that nowhere in the process did they declare the loan rate (see screenshots attached). After the original loan application was submitted, Mr. was asked for proof of income which he did not follow up with and that led him to believe that the application was basically void. In spite of that, they decided to deposit money (not provide any notification of that) and withdraw automatically (without notification either). The loan company did not disclose rates, nor did they disclose that deposit had been made and loan was active and that money was being withdrawn. Application screenshots ***

To answer the son’s questions, as for the loan rates, the loan rate is disclosed on the front page of every loan agreement that every customer has to sign before being provided funds. The Company also has a loan rates page that provides a general idea of what customers will be charged. As for the allegation that the Company never notified the customer of the deposit or payments, the Company sent an email on 9/9/2019 titled "Your loan has been approved: National Small Loan" that advised the customer that his loan application had been approved and that the funds would be deposited on 9/10/2019. That same email also advised the customer that the first installment payment would be due 10/1/2019 and the amount. The Company sent emails titled "Payment Reminder" on 9/27/2019, 10/29/2019, 11/27/2019, "National Small Loan - Courtesy Reminder" on 10/30/2019, and "National Small Loan - Payment Reminder" on 11/29/2019.The emails were sent to the e-mail address that was on the loan agreement for the customer. The customer has been informed that this account has been closed. The customer can call the Company at *** if there are further questions or concerns.
