National Tax Debt Reviews (134)

After reviewing the response provided by Mr***, it is apparent that he has misunderstood the actual services which were retained and rendered by our company. Dishonesty is not a trend within the company or a manner in which NTD conducts business. To date, help and services have been rendered. Unfortunately, Mr*** has misunderstood the services he retained us for, the services needed in his file and those rendered. Furthermore, Mr*** avoided providing the requested business expenses for us to use for the preparation of an amended tax return. Tax returns cannot be amended with fabricated numbers. This is blatantly fraudulent. Thus, proof of business expenses are in fact needed in order to comply with IRS guidelines and tax codes. If a taxpayer is unwilling to provide such information to help his own case, then an amended return cannot be prepared. To date, we have not received the requested business expenses to review for preparation of an amended tax return. We respectfully deny the claims made by Mr***. Had he taken the time to understand the status of his case and the work completed, then we are certain he would see the valuable services and work we complete for our clients

At no time was I advised that I was responsible for the additional months of the month contractI was very adamant about canceling because they had not done anything they promised to do such as contacting IRS and representing meIRS contacted and were prepared to garnish my wages and when I contacted IRS, I advised them that there should be a Power of Attorney on file from National Tax Debt and I was advised there was NotThis forced me to make immediate with IRS to avoid wage garnishmentI am again requesting a refund for failing to represent me as stated but failed to do soThis company repeatedly lies back and forth because I just recieved a cancellation letter from them on 06/01/stating something totally differentThey state they cancelled me due to my inability to maintain communications and meet deadlines which is not trueThey just sent you (Revdex.com) a totally different reason for canceling my service when I was the one who cancelled them for lack of serviceThey had everything they needed and are making excuses not to refund my money because they failed to do what they promisedAll I want is my money backThank you

My experience with National Tax Debt LLC, was a very positiveI would like to thank them for a professional and friendly attitude in my tax situationI would recommend this firm to anyone that encounter with tax problemsI was kept informed of all steps to resolve my tax problems with the IRSThank you once again National Tax Debt LLC

The staff employed by NTD is both knowledgeable and committed to putting clients in the best position. NTD thoroughly explained to him that the resolution process takes time and that it could in fact take even more than months to go through an offer in compromise or settlement process with the ***. The terms on the legally binding contract he signed further reinforces this and explains the timeframes involved. This is why the terms of his payments to NTD went up to a month period due to the length of time involved. Thus, TAS would not have done much else. I highly disagree with their decision, yes I hired them to work for me and contact the IRS on my behalf, unfortunately, they NEVER did anything just lie about contacting the IRSThey NEVER provided the Power of Attorney as I myself called the IRS to confirm if they received a notice from this companyPer, IRS they never contacted them regarding this situationThis company keep stating they needed payment to continue to work on my case, however? how can a company work on my case if they NEVER got my personal information? They stated that they file a power of attorney and NEVER did and I have proofIRS didn't have no knowledge of my taxes or anything, AND NO POWER OF ATTORNEY? NOW, the IRS know my situation JUST BECAUSE I CALLED AND TOLD ME I HAVEN'T FILE MY TAXESI was extremely upset this company kept putting me off and giving me the run around, however, they will call me for PAYMENTS ONLY! I never received their request for paperwork, but only ONCE and that takes months or so to received? How can you just keep calling me for payment and no work has been done? They are very rude and my wife requested proof of all my paperwork or at least email or sent us proof via-mail and guess what? We never received anythingThey even agree to return my last payment and guess what they never did! They are taking hard people money and playing with people taxes and lives situationsIf I didn't call the IRS I would have never found out that this company didn't do anything? So, the million dollar question is WHERE IS MY PAPERWORK? WHERE IS THE PROOF OF CONTACTING THE IRS? My wife got very upset and I don't blame her at all How they were playing games with meI want my money back and I have proof that they never contacted the IRSThis company should be out of business and this company doesn't practice anything ETHICAL! They were ruled and I'm not the only one complaining about this companyI work very hard for my money and I deserve my money back! NO WORK WAS NEVER DONE AND THE TAX PROFESSIONAL AND THE AGENT KNOWS THAT! BECAUSE IF THERE WAS WORK DONE I SHOULD HAVE A FILE! I WANT TO RESOLVE.

Our company firmly stands by our claims and company policies. Fortunately, we are most definitely very different from the other tax companies Mr*** continues to reference in his responses. As such, our work speaks for itself. The taxpayer already has copies of any documents he submitted to us during the course of his case. His continued requests to get a copy and his continued defamatory statements about our company are solely aimed at further irritating the interactions with our offices Once again, the issues raised in the client’s response are unwarranted. In addition, they are clearly emotional responses without a true understanding of what took place in their file and what process must be completed for an IRS resolution Our case work, ethical practices and efforts speak volumes. Unfortunately, the clients lack and willingness to understand the case has impeded their ability to clearly understand the work that was completed They clearly exhibited an inability to understand the IRS resolution process all together. In addition, copies of the agreement and power of attorney the client signed he already has in his possession via the e-mails that were sent to out by offices when he first retained our services. Once again, we wish Mr*** luck with his IRS matter and hope he is able to resolve the IRS issues

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I hope people are starting to get the idea about this companymy complaint is only the 5th or 6th but there is a trend of dishonesty hereI contacted NTD to help reduce my monthly payment to the IRSSomething they said they could do but only after taking my moneyTheir response here is inaccurateThe order of events went like this: I called them gave them detailed financial info, they said they could helpI paid them moneySent them hardcopy proof of my financial infoThey supposedly amended my prior returns I even talked directly with the person preparing the amended returnsI insisted at that time that I had given them all of my business expensesEventually they came back with the payment plan that was for more than the one I had originallyI asked for a refund in writing and on the phoneboth requests were ignoredI submitted a complaint to the Revdex.comNTD called me a couple weeks after asking for business expenses and saying they needed to amend my previous returnsI reminded them that this had already been doneI sent an email on June 28th

We are in receipt of Ms. [redacted]'s complaint regarding the services she received from our company. Ms. [redacted] did in fact retain our services for an IRS Offer in Compromise to settle her IRS tax debt of over $36,000.  The services were rendered and provided in full.  However, the IRS...

did not agree to a settlement due to the fact that the IRS determined that the client could pay them about $2,000 each month via a monthly payment plan.  The IRS determined that the client had this money available as 'disposable income' since they disallowed two parent plus loans she has for her two children.  The IRS examiners deemed that these loans were not necessary and thus, disallowed the expense.  Had the loans been the taxpayer's own federally funded student loans, then the expense may have been treated differently.  The outcome of the offer and the rejections were fully explained to the client during the entire course of the case. In addition, the IRS liens and how they relate to an IRS offer in compromise was also fully explained to the client.  In fact, the IRS notices received by each taxpayer who owes money to the IRS further notifies the debtor of the IRS' ability to file federal tax liens.  In addition, each taxpayer who files an IRS offer in compromise is put on notice directly by the offer unit that lien filings will be made during the course of the offer or soon after the offer is closed.  In the client's specific case, a lien was filed by the IRS after the offer was closed.  The timeframe for the filing is in the IRS's hands.  In fact, most cases like the taxpayer's get liens filed at the time of the original IRS assessment.  Regardless, the lien filings were appropriately filed by the IRS and the taxpayer should have most certainly been aware that the IRS could and would file such liens.  When the final payment plan with the IRS was negotiated to include all the balance due years, the government filed the liens to protected their interests--this is standard protocol when the government is owed thousands of dollars.  The payment plan established was for the lowest possible amount with mail-in payment terms.  The taxpayer was subsequently advised that the terms could be adjusted to a direct debit with a lien withdrawal application to address the lien issues she has raised. However, Ms. [redacted] elected to address her concerns with the IRS directly instead of taking the advise our of tax professionals.    We are certain though that our efforts have in fact prevented severe collection efforts from taking place against her from February 2016 to current such as levies against income sources, levies against bank account, and seizure of assets.  As discussed with Ms. [redacted] during our prior contacts, we are always here to assist her with her IRS issues if she needs our guidance or advice moving forward.  We have always advocated to place Ms. [redacted] in the best position against the government and wish her the very best in her future negotiations with the IRS.

Please note that were are in receipt of this clients complaint. However, his complaint is unwarranted and untrue. In fact, he is in regular communication with our offices are most recently (on 11/10/15) returned the IRS Offer in Compromise package that we have been waiting for him to sign and return...

since September 14, 2015.  Prior to September 14th, our offices even released his IRS levy and prepared several tax returns that were unfiled with the IRS.  We thus have not only gotten him into full compliance with IRS filings, but have also gotten him out of collections and are almost ready to submit an IRS offer in compromise (settlement).   A tremendous amount of work is completed by the time an offer is even forwarded for a client signature and review.  Had our company been non-responsive or not working on his case, then we would not have gotten this far in the case work.  At  this time, the client is gathering the IRS filing fees that are required to mail his IRS offer package to the government.  Once this is returned by the client, our offer will be submitted.  As such, the clients claims are not warranted.  We have confirmed that contact has been made with him on a regular basis and he is fully aware of the tremendous amount of work completed thus far.  As a result, NTD is not in position to issue a refund .

This client retained our services for an installment agreement and review of his tax returns.  At the time he contacted us, the taxpayer was well aware that the IRS was attempting to levy him for $600/month and that they wanted to set-up a payment plan for this amount.  He never...

completed his payment plan with the IRS and voluntarily elected to retain our services after he contacted us directly for help.  During the course of his case, our company diligently worked on his file by completing an IRS investigation and compliance check.  The client even discussed his case on several occasions with our tax resolution specialists and even one of the tax professionals  who was negotiating with the IRS on his behalf.   This client was advised of the balances owed and about the missing tax return for 2015.  We went through full financial disclosure in order to obtain the best results for this client with the IRS.  His income and expenses and the documentation he supplied to us reflected an ability to pay the IRS at least $1884/month.  This was explained in detail to the client via telephone and via written correspondence.  Since our goal was to put him in the best financial position possible against the IRS, we explored a streamline payment plan with the IRS since this would result in a lower monthly payment to the IRS.  The lowest the IRS would agree to under these terms was $620/month.  The  client was even further advised about the possibility of filing an amended tax return in an effort to possibly lower his overall balance due.  After review of his return, he was advised that that he prepare his return correctly and thus, the only way to actually file an amended return would be if he could supply us with business expenses.  We recently provided him with an opportunity to submit these expenses for a possible amended return. However, we are still waiting for his response.  Without the clients assistance at this time, we are unable to move forward with an amended return.  To date, we have diligently worked on the case file and have provided the services the client retained us for.   The complaint filed by the client is unwarranted since services have in fact been rendered.  At this time, we are still waiting for the client to return business expenses for us to review the preparation of an amended tax return on behalf of the client.

National Tax Debt saved me! I owed almost $45,000 to the IRS in tax debt from a few years of being successfully self-employed, but the recession left me largely under-employed and nearly broke. One of the things I appreciated most and that set them apart right at the beginning was that they informed me that not everyone qualifies for their services. (I knew that my father had tried to use a service like theirs years earlier for his tax debt, but because of his current income, he didn't qualify.) I figured that if they were fraudulent, they'd take your money whether your case would work or not. They explained that in my circumstances, they believed my case would work... and they were right!
At first I wasn't so sure what was going on -- I was making monthly payments and not much appeared to be happening. They explained that with the cuts to the IRS, agents were running slower on processing everything, and I believe this to be the case as it was even being reported in the news. Then the day came when they informed me that per my contract, I had paid the maximum amount for their services and no longer needed to pay them monthly but they would still be representing me. I was SO impressed that they had taken into account that customers shouldn't be penalized for delays from the IRS. They continued representing me for many months after the payments stopped -- very impressive.
Eventually I got word that they were in negotiations with the IRS, and had gotten them to go as low as they could -- they got my $45,000 tax debt settled for $4,052. I'll never forget the day I got that call and I still have the phone message saved many months later. I felt like they saved my life! After completing my payment plan, I received notice from the IRS that I had met my obligations and that they are lifting their liens against me.
The only frustration I had was that over this period of probably a year and a half or more, my account was transferred to a few different representatives, and it's always nice to have the consistency of working with the same person. Most were great, but I did have one that was not very helpful at all. Overall, though, everyone I worked with there was pleasant, responsive, and helpful. And even though nothing substantial was happening for a while, they would still give me occasional updates that they were still waiting for a response from the IRS. So I would just say that if you are working with them and don't think you are being well taken care of, maybe ask if they can switch you to a different representative.
Overall, I don't think I've been happier with the outcome of a service or company than I have with National Tax Debt. If they tell you that it looks like you qualify for their services, I'd trust them. From what I understand, there is never a guarantee, but I can say they did wonders for me.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
No resolution was proposed by the business.
They simply attempt to justify their inaction with untrue statements.
IE: "We informed Mr. [redacted] that it would take 30/60 days for the [redacted] to process a release of levy".
...This not true. They did not tell me this until I called asking for an update on my case 30 days after 11/05/2014.
IE: "We kept Mr. [redacted] informed of the progress of his case".
...This is not true unless you consider that I initiated all calls and then was only told that, we are working on it.
IE: "Mr [redacted] was not in compliance with [redacted] filing requirements and not filed returns for 2011 , 2012, 2013".
...Not true.  I was in compliance and and didn't need to file returns for these years due to minimal income.
IE: We even obtained additional collection holds on Mr. [redacted]'s account to prevent any other levies from hitting other sources of income.
... If they did this it was unnecessary work.  A reputable company , being that they had all of my financial information, would know that additional holds were not necessary as I don't have additional accounts or sources of income, no attachable property, and the [redacted] was already taking as much as they could take from me.
IE: "NTD even negotiated a monthly payment plan with the [redacted] per Mr. [redacted]'s request on 1/29/15".
... I never requested they negotiate a payment plan, either on 11/03/14 or on 1/29/15! And by 1/29/15 I had already told them that I was unhappy with them and wanted a refund of monies paid them. In addition, NTD told me on 11/03/2014 that a payment plan would not be necessary as the [redacted] would consider the money owed them, uncollectable, or worse case, make an offer in compromise. NTD emphasized the fact that they could more than likely resolve my case within three months and for as little as $300.00 if an offer in compromise was even necessary. IE: Several times more throughout their response they claim that they kept me informed.
... AGAIN NOT TRUE..a check of Phone records would verify that they did NOT keep me informed. Again the only conversations I had with NTD were initiated by me. UNLESS.. You consider the call I received from their accounting department wanting to set up a payment plan because my Dec. card payment was declined. My card was not declined and NTD did receive payment. "Oh, I'm very sorry Mr. [redacted], I rechecked my computer and see that it was paid"
IE: "He repeatedly attempted to avoid paying NTD fees and raising frivolous claims against NTD. On several occasions he threatened to stop paying as a means to manipulate the individuals working on his case".
... Never was a frivolous claim made and never did I threaten to stop payment. I simply told them, once and once only, that I cancelled my card and would not pay them unless and until they could show me proof of activity on my case. IE: A letter or email from the [redacted] stating that the levy was released, A letter from them outlining their efforts, anything to prove they were doing something as all I was every told when I called was that we are working on it.
IE: "NTD thoroughly represented the taxpayer up until he elected to stop payment".
... If this is true why would they not provide proof of their representation? Again, show me something in writing from the [redacted], show me a copy of a form faxed to the [redacted] with a received date on it.
IE: "Mr. [redacted] only made two payments to NTD".
... THIS IS TRUE. Two payments covering 60 days. Nov. and DEC 2014. in which time I should have, as they claimed, received notice of levy release. In Dec. and early Jan. I called the [redacted] 3 times myself to inquire about activity on my case. I was told they have no record of NTD negotiating on my behalf.
Wouldn't this alone be reason enough to discontinue payments? I addition, an internet investigation of NTD and it's principals resulted in very negative information. Also the Revdex.com website says this company is not accredited, but, the NTD website claims they are.
NTD claims they have rendered services that they value over the fees paid.
... I don't feel they have. Where is the proof?
I initially asked for resolution of my complaint in the form of either a refund of monies paid or, in the form of resolution of my case with the [redacted] at which time I offered to pay for their services.
There is no longer a choice of options for NTD. I request only the immediate refund in the amount of $416.66.
Due to the following. If I do not receive the refund within 20 days of their receipt of this response I will, as I told them, file complaints with the FBI fraud bureau, the Postal inspectors office, The Arizona Attorney Generals office, and California Attorney Generals office.
I feel these complaints are justified and warranted and hopefully will protect others from what I feel is a consumer fraud company.
I will also proceed with legal action requesting not only the refund of monies paid but will seek additional damages in the amount of $638.50 per month for the months of Jan. Feb. Mar. and Apr.. Forgiving Nov. and Dec. as these are the two months...30 to 60 days [redacted] processing time they claim. The amount noted of $638.50 per month is the amount the [redacted] was still attaching after NTD stated they had stopped the levy.
I am currently working with, Taxpayer Advocate Services Assistance.  Within one week after contacting them I received a call informing me that my case has already been resolved and I will be receiving verification from both them and the [redacted] within the next week... No payment plan.. The money is deemed uncollectable by the [redacted].
NOTE.... In my initial contact with the Taxpayer Advocate services I mailed to them copies of all the documentation that had been required by NTD to proceed with my case assuming they would also need it. I received a call for my Advocate Service caseworker laughingly asking why I thought it necessary to include all this documentation. He said none of it was necessary or required by the [redacted] as both he and they have access to my income and financial records.
The only form he asked for was an expenditure statement in the form of [redacted] form 433F. Guess what??? This is the one thing NTD never asked for.
Regards,
[redacted]

I got a vague letter from them August 4th saying they were done. I email them back to  and asked what the amount they were able to bring the amount owed down to. I got an e-mail from them on August 17th saying that they didn't even try to get the amount down. I sent them an e-mail asking for an...

answer as to why. I had been told that they could get the amount down at least by half sometimes more. They said that they would get the amount owed down so it could be paid in 2 years time. I didn't understand why they had not done this or why they needed all the financial information I had sent them. I had sent them 7 months of bank statements every bill I have to pay, all tax forms sent in for 8 years. The fact that the house we live needs so much repair some that the city had come by and said I had to fix some of it in a  in a certain amount of time. I am still waiting for a reply. When I did contact them it would take an extremely long time for them to get back to me. If they needed information they would wait until the last minute to tell me. I would always scan it and send it the same day because they would tell me if they did not get it in a day or two they would not help me. It was as if they were trying to find a reason to drop my case. They did get a hold of the IRS,after my last e-mail to them, and told them I had failed to send them all the information they had requested. This is a straight up lie. I guess they were trying to cover up the fact they did not do the work they promised. Since getting the first thing telling me they were done I am getting a lot of phone calls from solicitors and I have to believe that they sold my phone number. I never agreed to them doing this. I hope they have not leaked any of my other information.

This client retained our services for an IRS offer in compromise and installment agreement in an effort to resolve her IRS tax debt.  She retained us in...

November of 2014 and we completed services in full in March of 2016.  Prior to agreeing to the terms of our agreement and signing the contract for our services, the client was well aware that guarantees are not made.  Please reference the engagement letter she herself signed back in November of 2014.  In addition, she was fully aware of our refund policy. Since services were rendered in full and for even longer than the 12 month timeframe she paid for, she is not entitled to any refunds.  Unfortunately, the client is not willing to understand the resolution process and the tremendous amount of work we completed to put her in the best resolution process.

The IRS did not agree to settle her debt after over 12 months of ongoing negotiations.  Per IRS calculations and their own internal investigations, the IRS determined that the client had disposable income of $2,283 each month.  As a result, they determined that she could full pay her approximate $25,000 IRS tax debt within the statutory timeframe.  This was thoroughly explained to the client.  Furthermore, the $186 fee the client is referencing is not even a fee charged by our company but rather required by the IRS when submitting an offer.  Had she not submitted the filing fee to the IRS, then they would rejected her offer for failure to do so.   In addition, after the appeals unit of the IRS re-evaluated the case and confirmed that the IRS would reject the offer, our company proceeded with an installment agreement for payments of $450/month.  This payment plan was nearly $1830 less than what her income and expense reflected.  As such, this was the best resolution and the lowest possible payment plan any company or any tax professional could have obtained on her behalf.

During the entire time, the client was fully  protected against all collection efforts by the IRS, including but not limited to, levies and seizure of assets.  With our representation and assistance, not only was the client able to establish a resolution with the IRS, but she also avoided devastating levies and seizure which would have devastated her financial situation.  Unfortunately, the clients claims are grossly incorrect and do not warrant  a refund.

I had an absolutely fabulous experience working with National Tax Debt. I found myself in a position where I owed over $5000 back in taxes after a tax audit that found errors in my return. When I got the final notice from the IRS that I would have to pay back my return plus penalties and fees, I felt my life was over. If I was lucky I could still afford to eat and perhaps keep a roof over my head. I searched for options online on my own after seeing commercials on TV for tax debt relief. I was losing sleep every night while going through employment lapses and a reduction in income. I opted for National Tax Debt based on their credentials and fees. My experience from day one was comforting and informative. There were no guesses or lack of communication. My hand was held every step of the way. Every step was precisely timed and resolved in stages. The accommodation to make monthly payments on the total fees to resolve the tax debt was a life saver and beyond worth every penny. Settlement was less than $800 and though there was time to finalize that payment I was able to pay an initial amount in agreement to settlement terms and then finalized my final fee payment to National Tax Debt and the remaining balance owed to the IRS in full. I can finally sleep and get my finances back on track including buying new glasses. National Tax Debt as been fabulous with the sweetest people who know the heart of customer service, accuracy, and promptness. I highly recommend them.

When I first called NTD I was scared and unsure of their credibility. I can now gladly say that NTD is a very helpful and legitimate organization. When I first came to them the IRS claimed I owed more than $18,000 ! NTD quickly reduced my principle down to $6,945 ! and then they successfully negotiated the final amount owed to $3,471 !!!! I am so happy I asked for help from NTD. They have helped turned my life around. NTD was very positive and professional and always answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. I would recommend NTD to anyone with back tax issues. They can guide you through the maze and show you the light at the end of the tunnel.
