Great program overall. Offers plenty of science and motivation. Group support is good. I find tracking food to be very helpful. I wish your day intake would also be broken down by macros so you could adjust protein if needed
Amazing App . love the coaching follow ups
but !!
it needs to update the food data base as I;m from Kuwait I had to update food items manually
like to Samsung health or smart watch would be great to update activities automatically
Nothing in this world is perfect - but Noom comes close for me! The food logging, recipes, and the support from the Noom coaches and community are making my journey to a healthier me easier than I've ever experienced. Noom explains the psychology and science behind what makes weight loss more (and less) effective.
I really like the menu options and the create your own options, but I wish they had more pedometer options to sing.
Its a good and helpful program, has helped me make some real positive changes in my habits. I'm losing weight slowly, and steadily. I feel a lot healthier overall, and find it's easier than other attempts I've made.
The coaching is pretty scripted and unengaging, though, and the app could use some improvement as far as the nutrition database and the ability to scroll through daily articles by title instead of having to look at each past date to find them. I sometimes remember an article I want to reexamine, but unless I deliberately save it, it's a pain trying to find it again.
Overall I'd say it's worth the money for some people, maybe not everyone.
Information is very helpful. Groups are too large to be any value.
Food logging similar to other programs. The daily readings are informative. The coaching is lacking as is the group coaching. Everything seems like canned answers and prompts. Not very helpful.
Noom is a scam. The only reason I give them one star is because it is not possible to give them zero stars. They offer a free trial, take your credit card, offer virtually no or very poor services, and then charge your credit card a week later. There is no customer service to speak of and there are no refunds. Do not fall for this scam. Run away!
I have enjoyed the acquisition of knowledge and have made some healthier changes. I am only five weeks into the program, but am still not sure the payment of fee to use the app. is worth it as though I have received a few text messages from my "goal coach," the responses are few, not really timely and feel fairly generic. Wondering what the fees really support. The "group coach" is a little more consistent, however those messages are also generic in fashion. I don't dislike the program, however feel it could serve me better if it at least felt slightly more personalized - thus the fee. Perhaps after a few more weeks when I am further along in the process I will be singing a different tune.
Lots of information, sometimes too much, that explains weight loss and how to reach your goals. The single biggest annoyance about this program is that you can only update your weigh-in, meal logging, etc. on your smartphone. If there's an ability to sync across devices, I can't figure it out. I would love to update necessary entries on a PC or my tablet, which has a larger keyboard and is easier to navigate. Also, if you could access your information/account on a PC it would make reading the lessons much easier. I have lost weight on this program, so, if you don't have an issue with using your smartphone for everything, go for it.
I really enjoy the articles and lessons on the site. I feel that the subjects, science and tips really are timed to the phases of struggle that happen when you are trying to do a lifestyle change. I was hoping for more on point coaching, but I don't feel like I'm making that connection. The group chat board is very confusing. If you don't get in right at the start of everything, it is hard to decipher where to comment. Since I'm more of an introvert, I really want to make that one-on-one connection, but the chat board is too chaotic for me. The responses of the group and goal coach have the feel of an automatic message. Not very personal or responsive to the actual comments I am making. I signed up thinking the coaching was going to be more interactive, but it is not for me. So I am paying over a hundred dollars for articles right now. I am disappointed about the coaching.
Good for logging meals and tracking your weight but not much more. But the foods in the app are largely the items available in a grocery store and it is laborious to add all of the ingredients for a meal piecewise. The meal and workout plans are rather poor and are not integrated into the app. Given the cost of the subscription and the plans I think there are cheaper alternatives that achieve the same goals. The coach and articles are fine, but reading the same type of articles every day is very repetitive and gets old fast.
Noom suffers from the problem of thinking that giving all the information people need is tantamount to being able to implement it. In the course of a few weeks customers are positively inundated with information, and it's not really possible to incorporate it that quickly, especially when we're told that the articles are going away after we finish a class. We really need much more simple principles, in order to implement weightloss habits. Not because we're dumb, but because simple principles are those one can actually successfully implement amid a busy life. I'm not really satisfied with the program. *** was a bit better, but I think I'm just going to go with cost-free LoseIt after my Noom subscription is done.
Do not purchase the Diet & Exercise plan. It's a total rip off. Neither the diet or exercise plan is customized my age or physical limitations. A handful of recipes only. No coaching. If I could get over my fury over the $59 initial rip off, I'd feel more open to the daily app exercises. I'm 5 weeks in and the scale hasn't budged. To be honest, not all that is Noom's fault.
Contrary to how it's advertised, I did not feel the program was "individualized" to my situation. I have never eaten junk food, I don't work in an office, I don't go to fast food restaurants. I have arthritis in my back which makes it difficult to exercise a lot. Finally, I've always hit a certain weight that I couldn't get past. On Noom, I lost five pounds until I hit that weight, and then bounced around it for weeks, all the while feeling hungry.
Meanwhile, the coaches were not responsive and kept implying that I wasn't really hungry, but eating out of emotional neediness. Sorry, I don't need to pay for that!
The only things I found useful were the recipes and calorie counting function.
I am not in love with this program. I am still trucking on but after 6 weeks, I am frustrated. I like the articles, even though I feel like sometimes I can't follow them and when I get behind, I get more frustrated. The group is not helpful, it is very confusing and just not beneficial. I feel like I need help, and I am not getting it. So many things could be done better, but they are not. This program is clearly just not for me. But I have paid for it and will try and continue using it. Maybe I will lose weight eventually...
It's been about 5 weeks & I'm still mentally & emotionally transforming my thought process and gradually making changes towards more nutritious decisions! So a three star overall for positive daily reinforcements, however I've not lost a pound yet. I'm not giving up & believe the weight loss is still to come. Transformation is a long and difficult process!
It is good for new dieters but most of the information is a review for me. I have logged all of my meals but I can do that most anywhere. The color system is good but not available until after you log the food you already ate and it is too late. Need more lists of green yellow before you eat. The step counter is way off. It is never accurate because picking up and laying down your phone affects its performance. All your counselors do is ask you questions they don't offer support or talk like a person to you. Most people post what you want to hear not what they are really thinking. It is an ok plan. Not outstanding.
I`m very motivated in the am to read the articles and get lots of information, I would like to see more support from coaches. I thought I would have a ''team'' following my specific needs. I agree with support group but I thought I would have a specialty coach for my needs. I will continue using Noom until my subscription is done.
It’s a scam. They charged my *** $10 for a free trial but said I didn’t have an account. They kept sending emails asking why I haven’t signed in but when I contacted support because I couldn’t sign in, they said I didn’t have an account. I had to file a dispute with my *** to get a refund and cancel any further transactions from them. Horrible company and absolutely no help when you try to contact them.
