I really like the daily contact, hints, affirmations, and group. They help keep me motivated and on track. I have lost 10 lbs in the first month and am walking every day!

I just read a few of the reviews and just want to comment on a few.
Fitbit - it does integrate with Fitbit. It's under "Settings", then go to "Apps & Devices". If you are still having trouble ask your goal specialist or group leader.
For the people saying hard to cancel, I was really on the fence as to whether or not to go forward after the trial. I was really enjoying the trail and wanted to continue, but it was a big chunk of money at once. Also, some of the features are not available until after the trial. I talked with them about alternate payments but the yearly plan was by far the most reasonable. They made it clear to me that after the charge went through there would be no refund. The process however of canceling (if I had wanted to) was easy - I just had to let my goal specialist know.
There are many areas that need tweaking (hence the 4 stars) Food logging is not the best for a person that cooks. Noom breaks down each food you eat into categories (red, yellow, green)which is GREAT but if you enter the nutritional information for a recipe - the colors will not work. You have to put each ingredient in individually then save it as a meal.
Everything is app based. You talk with your goal specialist (mine is fantastic, Hannah O) and your group leader/group through Noom's message system.
Noom provides wonderful articles with lots of great information. You can save your articles but there is no way to store them by category or print them. If you are trying to remember something you read, you have to dig back through them.
Most of the settings are vague - no explanation as to what they do and nowhere to find the info without asking your group or specialist.
All that being said - I LOVE Noom and I was VERY skeptical - waiting 6 months before I ever clicked for the trial. I have lost 12 pounds so far in the 5 weeks since joining. The people that are active in my group are great as is my goal specialist which I already mentioned. I have done MANY different programs and any of them will work if you work it - its like exercise, sometimes you have to look a lot and try different things before you find what makes sense for you. Noom makes sense for me. I have someone there I can always ask questions - am encouraged frequently - looking at food differently - no food is off limits - lots of fantastic articles! If you too are skeptical, give the trial a go - get to know your goal specialist and ask them questions. If after a week or so you aren't intrigued/encouraged, ask your goal specialist to cancel.

Enjoying it so far. Have lost 5 pounds in a month.

Noom is a great program to assist people in developing a healthy life style that supports weight loss. I enjoy the humor and all the educational material. Forming groups with a group coach is very supportive. I am having slow success with the program, but more success than I was having with another program. Definitely supports the life style changes needed for continued healthy living.
I would like to see some updates to food. More restaurant meals and maybe clarifications on sizes. For example, a baked potato can be many sizes when eating out and one is not able to weigh it. Small, medium, and large for a whole potato would help when entering portions.
My only criticism is when I was having technical issues there was no way to talk to someone to get help and resolution. I basically paid for 2+ weeks I could not use. Here I see there is a phone number, but when I needed one I could not find one. I would have ended my time with Noom at that point but my daughter was using Noom and I wanted to virtually partner with her so once I could cancel my first subscription (but still charged for the full time I could not use) I paid for a second month.
I feel improving technical customer service improvements would be a huge benefit to Noom.

Love the concept of CBT for transitioning to healthier habits and lifestyle; the daily readings/quizzes/tasks are quick and fun. The goal specialist I have been assigned brings a positive mindset and lots of support, though this role only checks in once a week. My assigned group has been active and supportive; with the group coach mostly posting generic form-like, but upbeat conversation starters. My only complaint of this app would be the lack of accuracy and extent of database of saved food items.

I really like the concept - the format is good and the information is extremely helpful. I've tried 2 of the recipes so far and they were amazing...very flavorful and easy! Having an individual and a team coach is also a nice feature. The only thing I don't like is that everything has to be done on my mobile device. I wish I could access everything on my laptop. I have poor data/internet when I am not at home so I am very limited as to when I can get on the app. Also, as I am 55, having to use a small screen causes eye strain so other than that I like the program very much.

I have been on the program for almost 5 weeks and I have been successful and I'm pleased with my progress so far. I like the way they color categorize the types of foods you can eat; it makes it easy to pick foods and stay within your calorie budget. I like the daily articles; some are very informative and the way they are written can be entertaining and doesn't make me feel they are "preaching" to me. The only improvement I would love to see is to allow you to manually input your steps. I do not wear a watch that can connect to the app, but I do wear a pedometer. My phone has a health app that connects, but I do not carry my phone with me when I get up and down from my desk so my steps are between 1-2K less each day than I really walk. You can add walking as an exercise, but it only allows you to enter the number of minutes you walked or the miles.

I think the program is great. It truly helps you to see why your eating habits might not be optimal for a healthy lifestyle. The recipes included are tasty. The eating hacks are spot on. The 'realness' of it is wonderful; there will be slips and slides but that is not the end of the world. It really is a teaching course on how to see food and coexist with food in a realistic, healthy way. My only objection is the sharing with others, although it is not mandatory. I am not an extrovert or a sharer, and I find myself amused that I am writing this review sharing my Noom experience. I am not yet at what I consider my optimum weight as I hit the dreaded plateau, but I have learned why I stalled at that point and what I should do to push through it, which is persevere and push through it without giving in to former habits, like discouragement and disappointment. For that alone I would praise Noom. I have passed the plateau and still traveling on my healthy weight loss journey.

Great app! Service is spotty. Coaching is one email per week, and you don’t know when it’s coming, so it may take another week for a reply. The recipe and exercise app is super!
It appears that much money was invested in the software, but much less in personalized care. Also my support group is huge (18), making it challenging to feel connected to any one person. I’d pay more for more frequent coaching and one phone call-perhaps as an option?
After reading the refund comments, I’m wondering if they’re legit, or another industrial sabotage ploy from competitors...

Lots good information in this program. I like the personal feedback from my coach and her encouragement. This is a journey not a sprint. Much to unlearn and unpack from a lifetime of unhealthy habits so I am enjoying a fresh approach to good health.

Noom has been good in regards of having daily readings and posting from fellow group members for encouragement without having to go to a meeting. There is some type of contact every day so you dont feel alone on the journey.

I have enjoyed using Noom. Weighing and logging provides accountability. Not impressed with the coaching. Goals coach has been better than the other who only starts threads in which to comment. Group postings are hard to follow. I get more out of my unofficial Noom *** page. Calorie counts seem to be incorrect in some cases and looking up calories for items is too complicated.

It's a great daily reminder to stay on point; the tips are humorous, the occasional pop quizzes validate that you're understanding the ins and outs of meal planning for a lifestyle change, not just a "diet". 4 weeks in and have lost a few pounds. If your joining for 'group' support, I guess it depends on your designated group. Of about 30 people, only a smattering are actually posting.

4.5 actually!
Pros: a perfect fit for me and my wife. Daily skill discussions, individual and group forums that are helpful. Science based program, which have the benefits of several other programs.
But the biggest plus is that this program makes us feel more in charge and that permanent weight loss is the goal, and achievable.
The only con: There was a little trouble with billing initially but customer service took care of it. Nice people to deal with.
Highly recommend Noom, for life!

I love that NOOM analyzes what I eat so that I really understand portion sizing - and everything has a value, unlike free foods on other programs. Also the regular reminders and check ins keep me accountable. It all helps me stay on track. I have a crazy busy lifestyle, so doing the group activity is not always possible but I keep up with everything else as it’s only minutes a day to read, and to log my meals. The only thing I miss about the other program that I think NOOM could benefit from is a scanning tool to scan barcodes on foods for instant analysis! Love NOOM ??

The food selection for the meals are limited. I do wish there were more options available

???? love Noom. It’s the perfect tool. Nudge you to get on that scale, make good choices and virtual high five for getting it done.

I like the daily reminders and info. I have followed a number of other programs and so far, this is really working for me. I don't really like the group part. There is a personal coach and she has checked in frequently - I am not really into that part much. I like to be a bit more anonymous and you can do that too. The daily input is great.

I have enjoyed working with Noom. Sometimes the daily articles are corny, but I can deal with that. My favorite part of Noom is the meal login and the green, yellow, red food categories. Seeing how each day's calories add up is extremely helpful, and has helped more than anything. The other concept I really latched on to was the Trigger-thought-action-consequence understanding . So far so good. I have not yet reached my goal, but am definitely on my way.

I have really liked it. Appreciating the food log. Disappointed recently that it is not as quickly done since it tells me to wait while it down loads. I am also enjoying knowing the green food and chart of green yellow red. It would be nice as I log to see all that I have logged through the day at one time but I have taken to checking the green yellow red page. At times I have double documented and it is nice to see. Sometimes I miss documenting a food and viewing it all helps me catch it. Love the walking counter and if I go beyond with biking etc that can be added. It counts everything I do. I have an eating disorder that has lived in black and white. With all the work I have done in therapy etc this plan came to me just as I was moving into moderation and no food is wrong. This after eating anything I have not had in years for 6 months and gaining 40 lbs. moderation good choices stay green flexibility nothing is a failure and get moving again great. Even my boyfriend who is the cook is helping by changing how he cooks. Loves the educational piece. Which I could revisit some earlier ones but am noticing you are repeating things. When you have been dieting since 4 th grade and have gained and lost 100 lbs more than once u think u know everything but in reality I have never been flexible with a food plan. It has always been all or nothing binging or starving. Working on this though I am not weighing in regularly has helped me feel good. Fear that still I am not loosing cuz how can you with such choices as bananas but I am trusting the process. Thanks
