The Noom program is a total scam.
The Noom program is a total scam. They automatically renewed me without notice and I got nothing out of it except standard advice in the beginning and constant prompts to upgrade. I found it hard to cancel and even harder to get a refund. They are the latest in money-making schemes that prey on people who are desperate in this times.

I feel taken advantage of.
I’m reading the other reviews (which I should’ve done before signing up) and I’m frustrated because I feel taken advantage of. It is not at ALL clear when you sign up for noom that you will be charged $129 subscription at the end of the trial period. On the contrary, it was laid out as if they are giving people a deal of having it for free for a while (unclear timeline) since covid has affected so many. I was also asked how much I felt like Noom was worth with some recommended amounts I could click- I clicked “free” as I really had no idea what I was signing up for and just wanted to check it out. It’s a shame because I think Noon has a good product but it’s left me with a bad taste in my mouth towards them as I feel scammed with the unexpected charge. I also feel confused as I read the reviews as the charges seem to be all over the place and inconsistent? I feel if noom were more transparent with charges the product would be more successful. But taking advantage of people will need lead to success.

I am so disappointed in this scam.
I just tried to cancel my subscription as my “free” trial was ending that I had generously paid a fee for. I canceled and then was brought to my subscription page and it showed my I would have access for 8 more months and that I had already been charged $179. I emailed customer service and they said the same thing “thank you for reaching out. You signed up for 8 months for $179. This will expire 03-04-2021. You will have access until then.” With no option to cancel or get my money back for a service I was dissatisfied with in the first place. I am so disappointed in this scam.

I am starting my 12th week of Noom and honestly this works. I like the whole way the program is run, from the information I’m getting and learning how to change things in my life to live healthier. I am down 20 pounds I’m exercising more and eating better and I’m living better??

READ, PEOPLE! It’s definitely not a scam.
These negative reviews make me laugh. People don’t read anything!

I signed up with the company and read the terms and conditions. It is blatantly obvious that they will be charging you after the 2 weeks trial is over. For the full 4 months at once.
It is NOT advertised as a free trial, it’s a trial, which you pay between $1-$20 for depending on how much you are willing to pay. If you do not message their auto system to cancel, you will be charged. I hit a financial snag during COVID-19 and decided to cancel, and messaged them. They offered the service to me for a lesser price and I’ve been using it since April. Anyways, it’s been awesome, and I have lost 35lbs so far!
READ, PEOPLE! It’s definitely not a scam.

Very disappointed, and to say the least, frustrated.
After many failed attempts to contact them, they claim they cannot find my email to identify me, however had no problem charging my bank account $140.18 and sign up fee of $18.. They have a support person contact you and there is never a resolution. I do not understand how they cannot search for my name. They had no problem finding my payment information.
I cannot even log into the app.
I am lodging a dispute with my bank and when New York finally opens up, will be visiting their headquarters.
Very disappointed, and to say the least, frustrated.

DONT sign up for the trial. You WILL be charged $179 for a full subscription. The robot on the app that you’re forced to cancel through also gives no help, just sends you a ton of links to submit more forms. The phone number doesn’t work, it sends you into a loop of website- download app- IM robot - back to website. Insane.

Fraud. Agreed to $10 trial nothing more. They are charging my credit card over $120 every 4 months. Can’t get them to stop. Filing complaint with my credit card company next.

False, misleading advertising. I signed up for free 14 day trial & began articles, food logging, etc, anxiously awaiting contact by my assigned “Noom goal specialist”. Nothing. So I asked customer service to be told there are no goal specialists or group assignments now due to COVID-19. What? This is a virtual coach. Why wouldn’t they be available? The coach & group continue in their advertisements. Without them, you’re just paying a lot to use an app. They cancelled me at my request but I have to say I’m sad & disappointed. The coaching & group would’ve made this an decent purchase.

I actually loved the program and was prepared to sign up for a year but their customer service is a joke. I tried contacting them multiple ways on how to change from a three-month membership to a one-year membership and apparently no one is interested in helping me. After submitting an e-mail, I got a reply saying I'd hear from someone within 6 hours. That was last week. I've tried to get direction from the customer service bubble on the app and that has not worked either. I finally just quit on the last day of the trial.

I signed up for the free trial of this app, and then 1 day before my rent was due during this pandemic they had unsuspectingly taken $200 out of my account with no warning! I definitely though I was still under the trial period and wrongly assumed I would receive a notification before they renew me for 7 more months of a service I haven’t even used. I feel scammed and irritated that a business would operate this way against the people they are trying to “help”

I too believed that NOOM was legit, read all the comments but found out too late ...they PAY for positive reviews! You cannot believe all you read on ***. I paid them my 32 cents with ***, and still was charged $170.53 after 6 days of the 14 day trial. NOOM is a SCAM. Beware and do not believe anything is FREE... hah! They just want your credit card info so they can legally take your money.

I wish I would have come to Revdex.com prior to starting a trial with Noom. DO NOT BE FOOLED, DO NOT EVEN TRY NOOM. First they offer everything: a ‘new better diet’ that they instead say is NOT a diet but a ‘new’ way of eating to loose weight & keep it off for life. (In So many words). Second state what it includes: 1.teaching a ‘new way’ of eating allowing you NOT TO HAVE TO CHANGE THE FOODS YOU EAT NOW (being able to eat anything & everything you want). 2.Leading you to believe That it includes a PERSONALIZED diet plan and a PERSONALIZED exercise plan tailored specifically to your personal likes & dislikes. 3.That you’ll have a FREE trial period to see if it works for you. and That there is NO CHARGE for the ‘FREE TRIAL’ as long as you cancel before the trial expires. Let’s address these in the same order: 1.The ONLY difference in this diet & ANY OTHER diet regarding food is they tell you not to feel bad when you eat any/all of the foods we all know anyway that you should not eat on any diet if you want to loose weight. Also the further you get into this plan the more revealing they slowly become about eg.: ‘maybe having desert once a week’, & mostly eating the ‘green/good foods at every meal’ really? 2.THE PERSONALIZED DIET & EXERCISE PLANS they state are included, what a surprise, you must pay $49.00 extra. What’s even worse, I NEVER received them even though I kept requesting them stating I had PAID EXTRA for them & had not received them. When I finally did get a response it was ‘looks like you want to cancel your plan’,really? Yes, I did state since the trial stated it was to see if it ‘worked for me’, that I expected to be able to START my FREE trial once I received my 2 PERSONALIZED plans. They NEVER even cared to address their plan stated inclusiveness of these two ‘now extras” let alone the fact that I DID PAY EXTRA for them never to have received them. 3. Like another reviewer stated, the program states cancel before trial is up at NC is a total falsehood as well. Even though their email to me stated they would have to charge me only $.39 (cents), leery of such an odd figure, as stated (?) it DID NOT STATE THIS ANYWHERE. I will certainly watch my cc to verify the odd $.39 cent charge after reading what happened to others & how much they were charged when they canc. I could go on & on, yes there’s more but hope this is enough to get you to understand this is nothing but a BATE & SWITCH’ in my opinion. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER NOOM!

I complained to Revdex.com about noom services and all I got was the standard response from noom via email, saying they were sorry and asking me to ciontact them. However, I already tried to resolve the dispute with noom staff and had the mist frustrating experience. I went to Revdex.com because noom was unreasonable. They are committing fraud, violating laws, and offering bad advice, not to mention the way the staff messes with you. My only recourse is to write yet another review explaining how the first review process did not help, since no one is investigating noom or in amy way trying to hold them accountable. This system is not really working to protect customers.

I was told that I would not be charged for the 14 day trial if I went ahead and signed up for the $20 monthly subscription. I was charged twice for $19 each for the 14 day trial I did not want and then I was charged $162 for an 8 month subscription that I did not ask for. I went ahead and canceled my subscription withing 5 minutes of setting it up and ive requested a refund and havent heard anything back. this is a scam and I want my money back.

I signed up for Noom and tried the trial. I was planning on canceling since I felt it didn't work for me. To my surprise, I checked my bank account today and saw $162 dollars were taken out without warning. No user agreement or conformation. I tried calling their "customer service" but I was directed to a recorded message. I even tried to contact the NYC headquarters office but they screened my call and I was redirected back to the recording. I feel like I've been scammed and I want a full refund. This is ridiculous and it seems unethical to take innocent people's money at a time like this.

Do NOT sign up for the trial. I did not finish signing up when I saw the cost and they charged my card $162. It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact the company. I feel defrauded.

Signed up for a free trial. Tried to cancel before it ended but could never get logged back in and couldn’t connect with a customer service rep. Got billed $159.95 without consent.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

I luckily had no issue with billing, but I am very disturbed by the program's methodology and calculations. I followed their goal of 1,200 calories (which seemed low, but I gave it a try) for about a week when I noticed that I was very fatigued.
By the way, I eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plant proteins (and I've been vegan for about a decade and take all of the proper supplements), but I had some extra weight that I wanted to lose for my joint pain. I also have worked for a nutrition publication for five years.
After calculating my baseline metabolism across several calculators and websites, it turned out I needed to be eating 1,900 calories per day to lose 1 lb per week (and that's if I don't exercise at all on that day). I quit the program a few days later but experienced symptoms of calorie deficiency into the next week--severe gastrointestinal distress that led to dehydration, and, for a couple of days, I was so weak and dizzy I could barely sit up. Thankfully, I am feeling better now and am indeed losing about 1 lb per week at the appropriate calorie level.
This is simply not an evidence-based program, and for something that talks about mindful eating and rejecting extreme calorie restriction, it doesn't walk the walk. Extremely disappointed. If I could leave zero stars, I would.

I signed up for a Noom two-week free trial through their website. During the online signup process, Noom stated that in light of the current global health crisis, they were offering the option to try the plan for free. It also stated that it cost Noom a certain amount to compensate their employees for the trial, and gave an option to choose an amount I'd be most comfortable paying for the trial, including paying nothing. I decided to contribute $10 towards the trial rather than paying nothing. If I was happy with the trial, I expected the subscription for the service to be a monthly payment of $29.

I used the app for two days during the trial. On May , I asked for assistance through the app to understand how to adjust the daily calorie intake and I received a brief response from a Coach, but was still unable to fix the issue. This was one reason I decided that the service would not meet my needs, and I was also disappointed to learn that there was no option to log into the user dashboard online to read content and track progress, rather than having to use the app on my phone. I uninstalled the Noom app since I was no longer using it and since my phone was having issues with too much space being used by multiple apps.

On May , I was surpised to see a pending charge to my debit card of $149 from Noom via PayPal. I visited Noom's website and tried to find a way to contact customer support to request the charge not be processed. Instructions on the website directed me to install the app on my phone and send a message to a Coach. At the time, I was waiting for my phone to be replaced. After receiving my new phone the next day on May , I installed the app and sent a message to a coach explaining that I did not use the service and did not want to continue a subscription, and I requested a full refund. I received a System Generated Message that sent a link to a form to request the cancellation of the subscription. I followed instructions and canceled the subscription, and then received another automated message confirming the cancellation, but it did not address the issue of receiving a refund. I have not been able to figure out how to contact someone directly to request a refund for a service I have never used.
