Penn Credit reviewed and investigated the complaint Please be advised that I contacted *** *** on July 24, regarding her complaint. I reached out to *** *** to validate the correlation between her last name compared to the last name we had on file. *** ***
advised that “***” is her husband’s last name, however she never took this name. I explained to *** *** that we removed this account from her credit bureau report(s) solely due to the account being cancelled from our office on July 17, 2017. *** *** confirmed the trade-line had been deletedI also informed *** *** that Penn Credit doesn’t know the status of the account since it was cancelled out of our office. I explained to *** *** that she may want to contact the original creditor directly regarding the matter. To reiterate, Penn Credit removed this account from *** ***’s credit bureau report(s) and is no longer engaging in collection activity due to the account being cancelled from our office. Penn Credit
does second placement collections for our client PPL, so we are not the first
agency to attempt to collect on the outstanding account in question PPL placed the delinquent account in our
office for Mrs*** on 3/16/in the amount of $2,for services
for *** *** **.
We mailed the required validation
notice to the address PPL provided on 3/17/2011, 5/10/2011, 6/26/2011,
7/15/2013, 2/12/and 4/6/2014. None
of the six letters were returned by the post officeWe did not receive a
response to any of the six letters.
I have
requested verification of debt from PPL and will forward through the Revdex.com once I
receive the breakdown of the charges.

I have reviewed and investigated the consumers complaintI understand the consumer's concerns; however, she must realize that there was no way for the ticketing officer to know she was a registered handicapped driver if the handicapped notice was not visibleMy concern is that *** ***
has not been able to resolve this with the City of Jacksonville since the issue dateCan you please ask *** *** if she has attempted to resolve her concerns with the City and if so, their response
If she hasn't attempted to resolve please have *** *** provide Penn Credit proof that she has been registered as a handicapped driver since Once received I will forward to the City of Jacksonville with a request of review and determinationIf *** *** provides the information I will update and forward the cities response upon completion of their investigation

Penn Credit uses several outside vendors who specialize in locating phone numbers and or address for various business types, at times they do provide incorrect information.
It is never our intention to harass anyone and once we are notified we have an incorrect number we stop calling any incorrect phone number.

*** *** contacted our office on June 2, around 2:Eastern Standard Time to inform us that we calling an incorrect phone number, the agent removed the phone number and no additional outgoing calls were made to the phone number in question. *** *** did contact our office several more times on June 2, to confirm the phone number was removed.

in our office for collection on May 22, in the amount of $for

The
required validation notice was mailed to *** *** was on May 23, and a
second letter was mailed on July 13, 2014, Penn Credit did not receive a
response to either letter.
In
order to move forward with *** ***’s dispute I will need some additional information
and or documentation to support her dispute.
I have requested verification of the balance due from my client and will
forward through the Revdex.com once I receive.
I have also updated her account in my office as a dispute, the credit bureaus will also be updated with
her disputed status.

I am rejecting this response because: Regarding the balance with the City of Tampa there is no balance and attempt from City of Tampa to collect balance after *** paid the balance.Regarding contacting the original creditor, you stated clearly on a recorded line that I do not have the right to contact the original creditThis is a violation of the fair credit reporting law.Regarding contacting Avis, as stated on the recorded line this was with *** charged myself twice for the fine, documentation sent to City of Tampa via email*** is to pay city of Tampa, not me.Regarding sending any further information to Penn Credit, as is my right I not want any further contact from Penn Credit and my dispute is with City of TampaI will work with them.Any further contact outside of Revdex.com or changes to my credit will be escalated to an attorney

Penn Credit did review and investigate the complaint After completing an investigation pertaining to *** ***'s complaint, Penn Credit Corporation mailed a validation notice to *** *** which provided all required information regarding *** ***'s right to dispute, as well as provided
notification that the debt is in reference to an outstanding account with the Louisiana Office of Debt Recovery for insurance cancellation fee through the Office of Motor Vehicles On January 19, 2017, *** *** notified Penn Credit that we were calling a wrong phone number belonging to her mother, the phone number was removed and no further attempted contacts were made to that number. On February 3, 2017, Penn Credit Corporation received an email from *** *** to cease and desist. The letter clearly stated that she didn't want further communication pertaining to the matter. As a result, Penn Credit followed proper protocol to assure that no further communication was made. Penn Credit Corporation requested verification of the debt from Louisiana Office of Debt Recovery. Once received, Penn Credit will mail *** *** the itemized breakdown of the bill per her request This information has also been provided to *** *** resulting from a complaint filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau In the event that *** *** has any questions or concerns, please have her contact me directly, Thomas P***. This response is very misleadingI spoke with Mary and after checking several of our dozens of numbers, Mary announced that we didn't have our phone set up the way she thinks it should beShe felt that we should have one main number with multiple numbers as extensionsI told her our phones are actually the reverse and we have many numbers that all flow into one for marketing purposesShe then threw a fit and hung up on meShe told me that as a collection agency, they didn't have to honor my request to be removed from their calling listI did call in a few days later after MORE calls and spoke with a lady who did remove me from the listI also spoke with Mary's boss, who assured me he would counsel herBut, the response from this company to the Revdex.com is not honest because it implies Mary helped me and she didn'tIt took more action on my part before someone else was professionalThe response also implies someone else is calling me, and if they are, they aren't representing themselves as this company because our phone system tracks and records everythingThere is nothing further to do because they have removed us from the list, finallyBut, I did want to dispute it to make it clear to the Revdex.com that this response is not truthful and deceptive, which is concerning
