This is to let you know that yesterday I made one more phone call to Brenda B** from Pep Boys before getting ready to sue She finally answered the phone and was really unpleasant to me. She said that the check has been sitting in the West Chester store waiting for meI went to the store and there was no release for me to sign, only a letter form them saying I will not get any more money which is fine with me I didn't want anyone's money, only what was mine Since I didn't have to spend more money to sue and the amount was close, I accepted it There was a check of $4, The two papers (the letter and check) were given to me without an envelope She didn't bother to put my phone on the papers and nobody bothered to type my name in to get my phone, so nobody called me If I didn't call, I could have sued and who knows what would have happened to the check, etc. Thank you very much for your assistance I think it played a big role in this matter being resolved! Maybe someday Pep Boys will decide to remember that it is in the business of helping customers, and the better they do it, the more money they will make If they treated me right from the beginning and along the way, I would have felt safe to remain their customer I consider the matter closed which is good because I already spent too much time and energy on it. I am writing about an experience I just had at the store located at:

kissemme Florida I had my car serviced there for an oil change and a tire patchWhen I went to the store two hours later to pick up the carThey first said they couldn't find the lug nut keyI went outside opened the trunk and gave it to them as it was sitting there in plain sight, and which to me indicated that there was no effort to look for it at allBecause of the inconvenience employee Josie ( not sure of name) told us they would fix it immediately at no costThey supposedly fixed the wheel and I leftUpon driving the tire sensor went off and I stopped the car to look at the tires and the same tire with the same screw in it was just moved to the other side so I wouldn't noticeThey did nothing to fix it as they saidI wasn't looking to get anything for free as I am not one of those types of people but I don't like being lied too by company employees that represent a company I trustedI called to explain the situation and employee Raymond would not give me the name of the technician who worked on my car

I am so LIVID with Pep Boys of Lake WorthI came in for an oil change with the managers specialI was sitting in the waiting room and they brought out 'my' air filter and said it needed to be replaced I told the man no not today and he said it's only $I repeated my answer of no, and he went backAfter or so minhe came back and said my car was readyI went to pay for my service and he told me that my tires have to be replaced I told him no they are not even a year oldHe then told me well we didn't rotate your tires because you have to replace your tiresI asked isn't that included in the managers special that I was paying for and he said well we can choose not to do itI went out to my car and immediately called corporateThey told me to contact the service manager, and ask about my tire treadI went back in and noticed to that my front drivers side tire was lowI went in and asked about the tire tread and about my low tire and he tried to say oh well if your tire pressure light comes on then your tires are low, I knew that but it has happened where the tires were low but no light came onI asked if he filled them he said yes and I told him I would be checking my tire pressure when I got home, and that my dad works on cars and could check my treadI went straight to Walmart's service center right away and they checked my tread for me and said it was a 6/and 7/Pep Boys gave me a 1! A 1!!! They also checked my pressure and said it was on the low side and needed airThey filled it for me for free and offered to rotate my tires the following dayI called Pep Boys for their regional managers phone number which in most retail stores is listed with all of the other numbers but they denied having itThe manager contacted me and has stated a he will refund my money and check to see if my tread is truest as low as Pep Boys says, and if it is to them he still will not rotate my tiresHe also stated that he doesnt run his business that way but his reviews and customer complaints state other wiseThey believed they could take advantage of me because I'm a woman and they think I don't know anything about cars, they are scammers

We are in receipt of the complaint sent to your office on November 4, by *** *** ***We apologize for any inconvenience *** *** *** may have experienced at our facility
As
*** *** referred to on her opening statement " my car was not starting normally, I called Pep boys in ***, AZ to set up an appointment"At no point does her statement state what any other shop found to be her problem with her vehicleOur invoice states customer saying customer just had new battery installed in the vehicle Vehicle makes a clicking sound when trying to start
Pep boys of ***, AZ diagnosis on her *** , *** with a defective ignition starterClicking noise was starter locking up and not engaging engine
Pep boys did not have a starter in stockIt was approximately 6:PMwhich we informed the customer it would take two hours to diagnosis her vehicleShe agreed and waitedCustomer entered our location at 5:PMWe discovered we did not stock the starter for her vehicle and would have to special order itThat is when she started getting upsetWe then drove her to *** for customer to purchase a starter for her vehicle
Her uncle called at 7:complaining that his niece had been at our Pep boys location for over two hoursWe apologized and continued working on her car
At approximately 8:PM the starter that she had purchased from *** was defective and not workingWe apologized and ordered another starter from *** for her to replace the defective one for next morningWe had to close and no way of obtaining a replacement starter so late at night
At 7:AM *** *** Uncle and Father started calling Pep boys of *** complaining wanting the labor to be free for the inconvenience we caused his daughterWe apologized and gave all information leading up to this issue
At 9:AM we finished installing her starter and called her to make arrangements to go pick her up from her apartment and bring her back to the store Pepboys of *** went to her apartment and picked her up and brought her back to the store to pay her invoice for services renderedHer Uncle and Father continued calling wanting discounts and or free labor
We picked her up and test drove her vehicle and she left with a functioning starterAt approximately AM Alexandria Doss returns to the store claiming her starter was still doing the same thingI Raul M*** checked starter and it was functioning properlyShe insisted that the starter was not her problem
I then asked her to take her to drive over to *** and have them test her old starter which was taken offhowever I did caution her that a starter *** with no engine load on it might give an inconsistent test for starter draw
I asked her if she would like I would refund her full labor money and install her old starter back if she did not feel satisfied with results*** *** said no I will keep the starter you replaced on the carJust refund me my money
The starter was tested by *** is what she stated to us*** does not bench test starters in *** as *** *** informed Raul M*** performed the test
We refunded the labor *** *** paid at Pep Boys, but we will not refund for the started that was purchase at another facility

So they are taking o responsibility for the money coming out of my accountI have since gotten my money back but the bank told me the request to cancel the payment had to be made by the company who took the moneyHow is that the banks fault for a glitch in Pep Boys system? The Pep Boys representative told me they had a glitch in the system and that is why the money was taken out even though the order was not processedI also want Pep Boys to know that they have permanently lost a customer over this glitch and failure to take responsibility for it

I am rejecting this response because: this is not a resolution, they have not answered any of the complaint You can't tell me a vehicle goes into a shop with nothing wrong with it and comes out with issues Who is responsible? Am I responsible because I trusted this shop do do a job? Are they going to be allowed to destroy customers vehicles? Are you saying that that's ok?
I had the oil changed not because it needed it but because it was a matter of convenience due to the amount of traveling I do, now I have a major oil leak, and no one is responsible? Are they going to be allowed to destroy a vehicle because I would not buy the additional tires from them? They are allowed to call me about buying something additional but they are not responsible for damage they caused??!!
There was NOTHING leaking from this vehicle before I took it to pep boys!!!! They are responsible for the damage done to my vehicle, they are also responsible for the puddles of oil in my garage!!!!!!! This is totally unacceptable....they should shut down never to re-open if this is how they treat customers They need to admit their wrong doing and fix my vehicle, that is the only acceptable answer

October 18, 2012, Customer purchased tires and oil change $(should have purchased alignment to protect the tires, but he declined)
August 12, Alignment under warranty and oil change $
April 11, day Alignment $
September 12, Tire (customer did not have road hazard) $
September 2014, Tire (customer did not have road hazard) $
Customer wanted to save money and therefore never purchased road hazard warranty on any of his tires and customer also wanted non LT tires which it's what is recommended for this van because they were cheaper
We find no wrong doing on behalf of Pep Boys and we are denying this claim

I am rejecting this response because:
When I gave them my vehicle, I asked them to fix it. To return a vehicle with damage it did not have before the incident is a display of incompetence or lack of integrity. Either they knew of the problem and refused to fix it, or they have no business working on vehicles because they lack the knowledge to do so. Returning my truck with the problem it had is tantamount to a surgeon operating on someone to remove a foreign object and sewing said person up after removing it without taking into regard the damage that foreign object could have had on the body. When I discussed the problem with the manager he told me himself he did not know how to diagnose the problem while drawing me a diagram of the filler neck and tank and its principle components. He told me about the valve that was possibly damaged while the hose was shoved into my tank. How can one tell me what could be the problem after saying he can't diagnose the problem, have knowledge enough to draw a diagram, and then tell me the next course of action is to buy a new tank that has nothing to do with said valve in filler neck? Another thing, he said he added gas to the tank to test the truck's ability to accept gas, I believe this to be a lie. When I tried to fill my tank, first realizing it had been siphoned, I was close to empty. I managed to travel over miles, running on fumes to get back home, and then drive an additional miles to get to their auto shop. When I arrived my tank's gauge read BELOW empty. When I received it back, the gauge read the same. I do not believe these people should be trusted around anyone's vehicle; and I sincerely hope the place is put under new management with competent mechanics before they do anymore damage to the Pep Boy's name. It has forever tarnished their reputation with me, and everyone I know will hear about it

Ugghh where do I start:
Several weeks ago I brought my wife's car in for tires and an alignmentThey put tires on and alignment the vehicleTold me the alignment was good and didn't need oneWent to pay the bill and they charged me for the alignment and when I asked they said it had to be tweaked just a little bitCouple weeks later my wife says the car is making a loud thudding noiseCheck it out and of the wheels were looseTightened the wheels up myself and call Pepboys flipping as I have a month old and my wife's pregnant in the carThey said they reviewed the cameras and the mechanic torqued the lugs downMonth goes by and I decide to get tires put on my own vehicle and a cv axle replacement which I bought the part forThey charge me for valve stems that they claim to have replaced which were $bucks when I have tire pressure monitoring systems and they don't get replaced when you replace the tires and here I am about a month later and my transmission is smokedBrought it to a reputable mechanic and he said the fluid is low and the seal is tornCalled Pepboys looking for compensation and was basically told to go pound dirtCalled the district manager and they said they're going to "investigate" which at this point I doubt it but the only reason I go there is cause I have a credit card thereNever going back to this place again and I wish them the best of luck+ years ago this place was greatDon't want to knock the mechanics or anything but wtfWhen the car is brought in for repairs, Pepboys offers a free checkup to make sure everything's good including fluidsApparently my car was no worthy enough for a checkup I guessSo spent over a grand for all the work on my car and now I have to spend another $Thanks guys!!

*** for any inconvenience he may have experienced at our Pep Boys facility*** *** was advised the first time in May of 2012, that the Heater Control box was cracked and needed to be replacedWhen *** *** came back the day after his first repair, we used a silicone to seal the crack in the box due to the part not being available any more .Now two years later *** *** wants a full refund** *** had to have the compressor replaced which is no longer in warranty so the refund was denied
After *** *** filed a complaint the service Manager advised *** *** that he could bring him the compressor back and he would work on a refund for the part onlyIf *** *** would like to accept the refund on the part, we ask that he return to our facility with the part and see the service manager for that refund
