Plain Green Loans Reviews (294)

Review: I have had two successful $1000 loans with this company and have paid an exuberant APR of 299.17% for 24 biweekly payments at a rate of $124.16.

The website states that I can get a $3000 loan at an APR of for 38 biweekly payments of $119.29.

My income and credit qualify for this loan; however, they want to charge the higher APR so they can get more money out of me. This is bad business practice and is ta[redacted] advantage of people.Desired Settlement: I would like a $3000 loan at an APR of 59.84 for 38 biweekly payments of $119.29 as their website promises.

Review: I have an unpaid balance of $801.00 on Trans Union credit report and [redacted] website where you can monitor your credit. I have asked all three parties could and would the companies assist me with correcting the balance which has been $0 since September 9, 2014. An email from Plain Green loans states that team members have updated the account with the credit bureau(s); however, it has not been changed. I received an identical email from Plain Green about an week ago; and the account was taken off the [redacted] website for a few days; then, placed back on the website. I never thought a simple matter such as this would become so stressful. I am very disappointed with this agency because it is preventing my credit report from improving. I asked all three agencies to assist me (Plain Green, Trans Union, and [redacted]); neither did, each party blamed it on the other. I reported the agencies to the Consumer Protection Bureau nothing was done. I reported this matter to the Attorney General's office nothing was done. Now, I am expressing this claim to the Revdex.com. The re-investigation of Credit Dispute # [redacted] I hope you can assist. Thank youDesired Settlement: To notify Trans Union and [redacted] agency providing the correct balance which is $0.

Dear Revdex.com representative…

Review: I took out a loan from plain green loans in the amount of $1400. I went to check my account and noticed my bill went up to $1500 because they charged me $71.31 extra in fees, a penalty for paying my bill a few days earlier. I did research about this company and received information that loans from plain green are illegal in my state (CT). I have emailed plain green with a ACH and wage revocation letter. I also told them that I would pay the the principle balance of $1400 which I borrowed minus what I have already paid which is 3 payments totaling $861.63 that leaves me with a balance of $538.37. I've written them numerous times and have not received a response.Desired Settlement: I would like to pay the balance of $538.37 in two installments with a letter of my account paid in full. Thank you.

Plain Greens Loan did contact me and they did accept my offer to pay the principle balance of the loan. However, I sent them a response on May 20,2013 letting them know when and how I could pay the principle, which I think is very reasonable. They have not responded back. They also have not updated my account to reflect the new balance.

Review: I borrowed $800 from plain green I have paid back $2000 and they are not licensed in the state of Georgia nor do they offer any loans to Georgia residents anymore. I have called them trying to work with them to settle the account I've paid back the loan double already.Desired Settlement: Since they are not licensed to do loans in my state and I have paid back the loan plus $1200 in interest. I would like for them to close my account and consider it paid in full. Continuing to take funds from my bank account is unethical seeing as though they can not offer loans in my state it's against state law here.

No one from this company called and spoke to me my concerns have not been addressed. I really don't appreciate them stating that they reached out to me and they have resolved my concerns that is a FLAT OUT LIE. I would like for them to not debit my account anymore and consider this account paid in full as I stated they do not service any residents in my state and I have paid around $1200 in interest on this $800 loan totaling about $2000 already

Review: I was quoted 7 payments December 2012 or lead to believe it would be 7 payments during my first phone conversation. I was under the assumption that if you were late with your payments it might go as high as 19 payments but I have not been late in 6 payments as of 7/1/2013. also I never agreed to a 19 payment loan. during the second conversation after getting the loan I was told it was a 19 payment loan which I again say I was not informed it would be and do not agreed too, I believe there was information held back from me sort of a half truth deal. I would not agree to this type of loan even if I was Bill Gates.Desired Settlement: I would like to make a total of 9 payments and even that amount is totally ridiculous but agreeable and end my contract paid in full and mail me conformation!

Response:

Dear [redacted]

Review: I had taken out a loan from plain green loans, knowing the high interest rate. In March and April, I had made a mistake and had a overdraft and they sent payment back to plain green. I had emailed this company in the past to increase my payment and what date to take out of my checking acct. I always received an answer back... I had spoken to a person at plain green and told them, I wasn't in habit of making mistakes in my account, and set up another payment. I had sent several emails and expressed my concern that they would take money out of my acct and I hadn't authorized it, the 800 I had borrowed was now costing me over 2200.00 . They would charging me 60 overdraft fees, and interest kept climbing, I had emailed that I wanted to settle this debt and told them what I wanted to pay and that it was fair. I have made 5 payments of 239.00 . To me its funny that they couldn't email me back and answer my questions, and want to settle this acct. I don't think its fair that they can get in my acct and I haven't given them permission, and when I emailed customer service, it showed them received email and they would get back with me.Desired Settlement: I have offered to pay them 400.00 to settle this debt. I would never use company like this again. Everything is fine, until you need to ask question or make mistake in your account. I had told them, I would make complaint with Revdex.com and fair credit act, and these type of companies should not be allowed in the state of Indiana.

I took out loan knowing about interest rate and terms but when I tried to contact them via email as I have always done . they never would reply. they didnt charge me 30 dollars overdraft it was 60 each time.I have kept emails on my end . I have tried to be reasonable in contacting them and the last 239.00 was not authorized by me .I owe 500 dollars and will pay that but want rest of interest dropped off.I am having to close my checkingacct since I never know what and when will be taken out.I made the mistake mar an apr in my checking acct but after that they never would answer and emails and I got the run around when I called and questioned different fees. after I pay the 500 I have pd nov thru feb and then may and they say I still owe 900. this company isnt being reasonable with me their return customer service is a joke. they are like loan sharks and I fell for it . these companies should be shut down .my emails showed how I had made timely payments and then made mistake in my acct and thats when they wouldnt work with me. I will pay 500 and thats it .

Review: Re: Loan ID####### I had taken out a loan on 10/23/2012 for $500. To date as of 04/01/2013, a total of 11 payments were made of $85 with the last payment to be on 04/05/2013. The total amount paid so far has been $935 which is $435 more than principle amount, still owing $85. I am current and have never missed a payment. The total amount if last payment is to be made is $1020. This is over twice the amount originally borrowed. Recently I received information that I have been charged illegally by Plain Green loans, which is why I emailed them as soon as the information was presented to me. I offered to settle with the company immediately as I do not want further dealings with an illegal establishment.I am very uncomfortable with an illegal establishment having access to my bank and work information. So far nothing has been resolved or no return contacted me about this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like this loan to be considered paid in full immediately with forgiveness of final payment which is to be made on 4/5/2013 and refund of my last two payment made on March 8 and 22 totaling $170.

Dear Mr. [redacted],

We are in receipt of complaint id 9486651. submitted by [redacted], regarding Plain Green's business practices, and thank you for the opportunity to address these concerns.

On 4/1/13, we reached out to Mr. [redacted] advising him that his account has been closed from further activity.

We explained our position regarding the legality of this loan, Plain Green is organized under the laws of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation of Montana ("Chippewa-Cree"). Plain Green is owned by the Chippewa-Cree, and operates exclusively on land owned by the Chippewa-Cree. As such, Plain Green stands as an "Arm of the Tribe," in the view of the United States state and federal courts. Therefore, loans made by an arm of a sovereign Indian nation are not subject to state law. This is NOT a payday loan

In accordance with this, payments received on the account were paid according to the contracted rate and will not be refunded.

Review: I have just discovered that Plain Green Loans LLC is not a licensed lender in my State of Ohio and that the interest rates charged by them are not allowed in the state of Ohio. I have had several loans with them and have overpaid interest in the amount of $4382.00. I have an outstanding loan with them that has a balance owed of 2406.79 - I have asked that my overpayments on past loans be applied to this outstanding amount and for them to refund the remaining $1976 by issuing a check and sending to my home address on file, as technically the agreement I signed with them in unenforceable as they are a tribal lender - I am offering to repay the principal owed in the manner mentioned above. They have become non-responsive and have offered a 10 payment settlement which I have NOT agreed to. what is my next step? I have revoked ACH and any Wage assignments I may have signed with themDesired Settlement: Refund my overpayment from prior loans, apply to outstanding principal and refund the difference of $1976.00 in the form of a check sent to my home

PGL is offering a 10 pay plan to settle my account - NOT ACCEPTABLE - I have overpaid this company over $4000 - I want my account closed, noted paid in full, and a refund of my overpayment as noted in my initial complaint. Unfortunately in a time of dire need due to caring for my ill father, who has since passed away, I had no choice but to resort to this company for a loan - under extreme stress, I was NEVER MADE AWARE that this company was not a licensed lender in my state of OHIO - Indian reservation or not, they still reside and work in the United States and MUST ABIDE BY THE LAWS OF THE USA - not their reservation

Review: Hi, recently discovered that this company interest rates are illegal in my state and that I am a victim of Usury, the charging of interest in excess of that allowed by law. (The California Constitution allows parties to contract for interest on a loan primarily for personal, family or household purposes at a rate not exceeding 10% per year. As with all other percentages we are listing, this percentage is based on the unpaid balance. For example, if a loan of $1,000 is to be paid at the end of one year and there are no payments during the year, the lender could charge $100 (10%) as interest. However, if payments are to be made during the year, the maximum charge allowed could be much less.) I have already well overpaid my principal balance and want my status to be updated correctly as PAID IN FULL. After discovering the truth as to how much I have actually paid, I have paid a total of over 1,000$ in just interest alone.Desired Settlement: I had made a total of 2 loans from this company. On the 1st loan I was scammed 450$ - almost 1/2 of the loan at a very high and illegal interest rate within less than 4 months of 1,000$ I borrowed. On loan #2 1400$, I have paid over the full principal balance. But the account says I still have 632$ left which is illegal! I have been scammed out of over 660$ in interest within 4 months. Fix this serious error and mark my current loan as PAID IN FULL. I also want a partialrefund from the 1st loan

Review: I was informed around May 15,2013 that Plain Green Loans(PGL) loan is not legal in the state of Texas. My inital loan was for $2,000.00 which was taken out on 7/24/12 with the agreement to pay bi-weekly $149.33. I have since made 19 payments before closing my bank account to stop Plain Green Loans from withdrawling the $149.33 from my account. The 19 payments of $149.33 allowed for the principal of $2,000 to be satisfied and established an over payment of $837.27. I have requested that Plain Green Loans state that my account is paid in full and refund the over payment of $837.27. On May 31st I received communication from PGL stating "we are willing to consider your account paid in full and will close your account from further activity" Yet PGL will not correspond when I continue to seek out and request a refund of the overpayment that they have received of $837.27. I was informed on 6/14/13 @1:16 p.m.(CST) from a [redacted] that "something was sent to legal on regarding my request for a refund" and he stated that they would communicate with me vial e-mail. No communication from PGL has been received since June 14,2013.Desired Settlement: I would like to received my over payment of $837.27 in a check form mailed to me at my address: [redacted]
