Review: I am currently paying private mortgage insurance (PMI) on my primary residence in the amount of $300 per month. In February 2014, I completed paperwork to have the PMI removed as I now own more than 20% of my property. PNC was unwilling to accept my 3rd party appraisal indicating a higher value since my entire home has been renovated. Instead I was required to use a PNC authorized real estate appraiser. On Feb 18, 2014 PNC cashed my check, in the amount of $485.00, for the appraisal. The appraiser contacted me to schedule and a few days before we had a bad storm and my home was damaged. I made the repairs, which included a new roof, and rescheduled the appraisal. the appraiser contacted me and said PNC took the job from him and that I need to call the bank to reschedule. I made multiple attempts over the past few months and I was told someone would be in touch. No one has ever contacted me. After more then 30 calls to PNC I was told we had to start the process over and there would be a cost increase. Today I received a check back in the amount of $485.Desired Settlement: I would like my home to be appraised ASAP and a credit issued for the dollars I have been spending for PMI costs waiting for PNC to process my request. I should not have paid PMI in April, May, or June ($920).

PNC Mortgage is in receipt of your correspondence, dated June 10, 2014, concerning

Review: Believe the company may be pyramiding with fees and charging excessive fees.

Issue #1: I just dealt w/PNC over unwarranted fee that was charged to my checking account, for a teller assisted transaction (deposit) that was made into a savings account. I advised PNC of my dilemma and advised that the reason for having to make a teller assisted deposit, was because I was making a cash deposit that included $20.75 in coins. During the chat session I asked the associate if they would be willing to waive the $7.00 as a courtesy, as PNC does not offer any other options for a same day deposit if you are depositing loose currency. I was told the matter would be escalated and someone would contact me and the channel of communication was terminated as I was asking when I could expect an ETA. This was on or about 12/10/15.

Issue #2: I made a deposit on 12/16/2015 of $9.00 from an ATM to cover my $190/month [redacted] student loan payment. This along with two transfers covered the $190.00 payment. These transfers and deposits were made on 12/16/2015. After my deposit, I had a positive balance of $0.38. This morning I received a text message and an email from PNC that they were charging me an overdraft fee of $36.00. I don't have funds to cover an overdraft fee when the account never when overdraft. Too make matters worse both accounts that I made the transfers from show pending still, which will then incur additional overdraft fees.Desired Settlement: I respectfully ask that my account be credited for these fees. As I explained to the customer service person, I am on a fixed income and couldn't even afford the $7.00. Now I am being charged more fees for me allegedly over drafting the account. I did save my receipt which reflects that I had a balance in the account of 0.38 and was charged a fee today on 12/17/2015. I know this seems like a little bit of money, but as I explained before this is the difference between gas in vehicle. Plus since I don't have the $ to cover it, my account will stay negative and I will continue to get more fees. Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The representative agreed to reverse all fees related to the issue on my Growth and Savings account related to a "cash" deposit and "cash" transfer that was held that caused excessive fees. In addition to reversing the fee for service charge for the teller assisted deposit, with coins. After the reversal I should I have a positive balance in my account. Which is they way it was before the fees.

Review: I recently received my escrow statement from PNC mortgage and they claimed I was short $734.26. However my mortgage obligations only increased a total of $24.11 over the past year and they admit I had a two month cushion in my escrow at the beginning of the year. My question is what happened to the rest of my account.Desired Settlement: I would like an explanation as to what happened to the money in my escrow account.

Review: On march 20, 2014 we open a business account with PNC Bank account # [redacted]. On May 30,2014 we decided that PNC Bank wasn't the place for our new business [redacted]. My wife and I felt that the fees was too much and decided to close our account. So the [redacted] branch was close to our home decided to visit to discuss our decision of closing the business account. We were greeted by Mr. [redacted] who closed our account stated that fees was involved which at that time we agreed to pay. So not only did we pay the closing fess Mr. [redacted] handed us a refund check of $90.00. Then shortly after closing our account my wife stated receiving calls from PNC recovery stating that the account # [redacted] has a deficit balance of $122.50. PNC also stated that the account has a charged off the balance due now includes a charge off fee noted in the schedule of services charges and fees. The letter was dated June 11,2014 from Consumer loan Center Mailstop:[redacted], so my wife called and explained what happen to [redacted] at ###-###-####. ms. [redacted] asked did we contact the branch manager so we did to [redacted] who stated that she needed to speak to Mr. [redacted]. So shortly after our visit Ms. [redacted] called and stated it was a bank error and everything was fine.Ms. [redacted] number is ###-###-#### email is [redacted]. I also emailed Ms. [redacted] on July 10,2014 to inform her of another letter received by [redacted] phone number ###-###-#### they are given us 30 days from letter dated July 25,2014 to dispute file number [redacted] acc#[redacted]. My wife and I are in the process of writing our dispute after several attempts to resolve this matter at the [redacted] branch.Desired Settlement: We would like in writing from PNC bank that it was a error on their end. In addition we would like a copy from PNC Bank letters forwarded to all collection companies explaining their error.Reports to the credit bureau be fix and removed. If there are any additional fess caused by this error that they will be responsible for their error and we want this in writing too.

Review: I had been send over 5 debit cards due to different reasons with security issues. I needed to make a deposit for an item that I was going to purchase. A financial rep helped me and I advised her I was coming back to make a deposit into my account and needed to know which debit card went to it. She nicely offered to help and then later I made deposit. Went out of town since I'm an investor and buy houses I stay gone for extended period of time. I stopped using pnc for my investment portfolio account due to fees they charge. So I no longer monitored accounts as usual. When I got back received a notice that accounts were overdrawn. Rep gave me wrong account number so I saw a banker told them of issue and contacted 1800 numbers. I then was charged a whole bunch of fees due to an error not due to my neglect. Pnc has not even offered to meet me half way and I had to pay [redacted] fees. I have done alot of business with Pnc and so have my parts with over several 100k at a time. This is not fair

Review: I was told when I opened my business account that I was eligible to receive $400 for opening account as advertised. I was also informed about the $400 promotion if I opened personal account but was later told since I am already getting one for business account I was eligible for that. Well today I asked if that 400 would be deposited soon, and was told I wasn't recieving it and they know nothing of it. Find it funny that when I was going to open a personal account and asked about the promotion they had, I was told I am already recieving 400 for business account so they can only do one. Yet when it came time to fulfill their promise they knew nothing of it.Desired Settlement: I would like them to make good on their ad and reimbursement for checks I ordered because I will now be changing banks for the poor customer service I have received in the time I have had account.

It was pulled back By PNC on Sept. 17th, 2012 as per [redacted] Credit Card Company. Now not only do I have to deal with Absolutely no help from the main contact Number "Anthony" I have to deal with a Credit Card that I never had but is in my Name. Currently I am on the phone with complaints who was able to pull up the statements and the account that "Anthony" could not. I am now suffering late charges and mega interest rates becuse of this. I just want to know why the $5000 payment was pulled back. Who is going to be responsible for all the accrued interest and credit hassles.Stuck and confused.Thank you [redacted] the only ray of hope....Desired Settlement: You name it. Make it Right. Review: My mortgage was started on 3/30/14 with a contracted closing date of 5/2/14. Starting day one when I received a request for documents to complete my mortgage, I had it delivered either that day or the day after. If the documents appeared incomplete to the loan officer ([redacted]) it would be days before he would contact me back with the mistake. On one occasion I was out of town for 4 days and was unable to get him the correct documents until 4/16/14. He did not let me know that they were still incomplete until 4/18/14. At this point I thought everything was on point until I received a call on 5/1/14 (one day before closing) stating that my loan officer had mistakenly deleted an 85 page document I had faxed him on 4/23/14 and that I would not be closing on the contracted date. I faxed them immediately the pages he lost in hopes that we might close and I would not lose time from work and have to pay more rent in my current residence. One more instance in lack of communication would be the title company contacting the loan officer to streamline things. Starting on 4/4/14 and him not returning any of her calls until well after 4/21/14. I have many emails and documents to back up all of my complaints and these are just the most unacceptable to me at this point. I have contacted my loan officer([redacted]), his manager([redacted]), and the regional manager([redacted]) with these and no results. I was also promised by [redacted] that that [redacted] boss [redacted] would be contacting me, and I have yet to hear from him. The handling of my personal documents and lack of communications is completely unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I asked for $500 which would cover the addition $250 I had to pay rent at my current residence, and the compensation I had to take off of work since my closing date was pushed to a Wednesday May 7, 2014. I would not of had to take a day off of work if my contract closing date of May 2, 2014 had of stayed the same.

Review: In January my brother and I opened an account for our mother to pay her bills. My brother was an existing account holder with the bank. When we opened the account some "fine lines" in the policy were not initially given to us. On Sept 19th I went to go and withdraw funds from our joint account and I saw that it was a misc withdraw from my account. I tried to contact PNC over the phone and got no where. the customer service was RUDE!! They were not helpful, and didnt offer any solutions. So I went into a branch to find out why money was taken out of my account without my permission. When I got to the bank I asked the teller, she was not very helpful she just told me that a teller did it and it went to another account. I asked to talk to a manager and got another banker. After waiting and waiting the banker came and said " oh we can take moneys owed to us from your account because your brother owes us money" In shock I asked the banker if this was legal and that they can just take money without notifying me. He said yes we dont have to tell you.. I told him I was on the account and didn't owe them money but they still took my money. He said well when your brother signed his agreement he signed that we can take money. Well my brother is living out of the country and cant vouch for any of this. The banker was rude and short with me. I asked to see this practice in in writing.. After waiting again with no manager contact, the teller brought me a copy and agreement. I tried to explain to the banker that this seems deceitful and illegal. What was told to me was when you put money in our bank we have the right to collect it anyway we can. Again I asked for a manager and the banker went to the door of the manager and they held a conversation in the doorway, the manager handed the banker and piece of paper to give to me. Disgusted by my treatment I insisted on closing my account. This bank is horrible and deceitful.. This policy should be explained. The bank basically stole money from my account.Desired Settlement: I would pnc to refund my money to my account and I would like to close my account. They are crooks and I demand a refund.

Review: I have gone into the PNC Bank on [redacted] for over ten years and I visited this branch on 4/28/14 and the teller gave me a very difficult time with regard to the way she processed a money order transaction and told me to give her ID. I have never been asked for ID before and in fact, assistant manager [redacted] knows me from coming into the bank for over five years. I asked to speak to a Manager by the name of [redacted] who was very abrasive, nasty and treated me in such a degrading way. I tried to explain to him that I having been coming into this branch for over ten years and that [redacted], the assistant manager knows me. I have never had to provide ID before. He did not listen to what I said and just treated me in a dispecable way.Desired Settlement: I want a written and verbal apology from this so called manager.

Review: PNC Bank charged me $36 overdraft fee when my account was never negative.

Had spoken to 2 different customer service reps on the phone, neither of which said they would be able to refund me the $36. This IS a banking error not personal error. I had a deposit that covered the check and my account was never negative but they still charged me the overdraft fee. They keep making excuses of reasons they cant refund it. This is the 2nd time in 2 months that they had done this to me.Desired Settlement: For them to refund me the $36 overdraft fee.

Review: On 9/28/15 I checked my account and I had an available balance of $107. I then purchased lunch for approximately $11 but the cashier realized she hadn't charged me for a soda so she swipped my card again without asking me. On 9/30/15 I received an e-mail that my account was overdrawn. I checked my account and to my surprise I had 4 overdraft fees of $39 each. My first issue was that I should have been notified after the first overdraft fee was applied since I was opted into the alert and I spoke with two managers and all they could say was, it doesn't work like that. Second, my account shouldn't show available funds if they aren't really available. Third, they purposely withdraw funds in the order that will accumulate the most overdraft fees. They first deducted $111, to bring me it the negative, then $35, then $11, then $.85. Why not start with the lower amounts to keep me in the positive? I've been with this bank for over 12 years and I cannot believe how they are treating a extremely loyal costumer.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the overdraft fees refunded.

Review: PNC charged me four overdraft charges on 11/12/2015 for $36.00. I went online to see why they charged me these fees because my account was never in the negative. I printed my statement up from 11/9/2015 to 11/16/2015 and called them as once again my account was not and did not ever show a negative amount. They refused to hear my compliant and proof that my account was never in a negative. She stated on her screen it was and the screen print I took was directly from PNC's Online Banking System, which I stated that the two screens should reflect the same information unless they were misleading their customers and stealing from their accounts, however I opened a compliant and was told very nasty that I would hear from someone within 48 ours.Desired Settlement: First I would like an explantion as to why they removed funds from my account when my account was never in a negative.

I would like to know why their information in their system doesn't coincide with the consumers online banking account information.

I would like a full refund of $144.00 they stole from my account.

Review: I rec'd a call today from my father[redacted] who says that PNC Bank called him to inform him that on July 21st 2014 $600 was removed from his account by accident. They informed him that since his daughter (myself) [redacted] had a very similar name to him they mistakenly tooth the money out of his account instead of her account. The informed him that they would put the $600 back. He informed me that I should contact the bank because if I did not have the $600 available I would be negative in my account. When I called the bank to ask them since this is NOT my problem and I did NOT make the error if they are willing to work with me to give the money back. I do not have the $600 in my personal checking account to be able to replace the money that was taken out of his account. I am not asking to keep the money whatsoever all I am asking is for the bank to work with me to pay that money back. I did not check if the teller had taken the money out of my account because I assumed he or she knew how to do their job and after verifying my ID they were not going to take it out of a different account. I have been a loyal customer with PNC Bank for SEVERAL years and would hate to leave on bad terms. I have brought a lot of business to your company because I have always raved about your great service, but if you are unable to accommodate me with this problem that YOUR COMPANY made I will be leaving PNC Bank.Desired Settlement: I would like for PNC Bank to work with me and allow me to pay back the money in increments. I do not think it is fair for an error that was made by PNC and NOT myself that I have to suffer for it. IF you are unable to allow me to pay this money back in increments and want to take the FULL $600 out of my account then I will be more than happy to pay PNC Back in full but I will be closing out ALL OF MY ACCOUNTS with PNC and taking my business elsewhere.

Review: Incessant charges to clustered (force-sold) accounts, followed by ignoring customer request to close accounts. On numerous occasions I have tried, unsuccessfully, to close the PNC accounts originally associated and converted from a single, account pair to a clustered, complicated, three account offering called "Virtual Wallet" a marketing name which I've come to understand to connote "never actually dispensable." I remark this after significant problems with the operation (funds linkage between accounts) led to my accounts (now 3x13 or 3x36.00 overdraft) being assessed with significant surcharges and maintenance fees, further compounded by the utter absence of locations in my new home state (CA); which in four years, has not changed, despite marked growth of PNC. Account was originally opened in NJ over three years ago and maintained in good standing throughout. No official and final follow-through was ever provided to ensure that the accounts were closed. Reversal of charges was made, but account remain open for various picayune reasons and no follow-up after initial contact, including via email has ever been honored. I feel these practices breach trust and border on illegal.Desired Settlement: I wish to be compensated via gift card for all the complexity and for the lack of interest paid on these accounts for the last three years. They originally promised me almost 1% rate on the Savings, which was the draw to bank there. My savings had on average 40K in it for three+ years

Review: My elderly father signed a power of attorney giving me authority to access his bank account and safe deposit box. I presented this power of attorney at the PNC branch where the safe deposit box is located. The branch manager said that he would need to send the power of attorney to the PNC legal department to check its validity, and once they confirmed (typically within 24 hours), I would be able to access the account and safe deposit box.I went back the next day and was informed that even though the legal department determined the power of attorney was valid, they would not honor it and would instead require me to have my father sign the bank's own power of attorney form before I could access the account or safe deposit box. Repeated protests and calls between the bank manager and the legal department were to no avail.I think it is inexcusable that a bank would refuse to honor a legal document; I'm not a lawyer, but I would guess the refusal is also illegal. Moreover, this refusal creates hardship for my family because (a) I (and my parents) live on the opposite side of the country from where the safe deposit box is located, so now I will have to make a separate trip to gain access; (b) I am hindered from managing the money in this bank account, which my parents need for their medical care; and (c) I have to engage a notary or lawyer again to properly certify my dad's signature on the bank's form, with the cost and logistical complications that entails, at a time when I am overwhelmed dealing with my parents' medical crises.Desired Settlement: I would like PNC Bank to immediately honor the power of attorney I presented, a copy of which it already has in its possession. Moreover, the bank should not charge me for the safe deposit box from the day I went to the branch, since my intention was to empty and close the box. Ideally, the bank would also help me cover the expense of traveling back to the east coast to access the safe deposit box, as well as of the time off I would have to take in doing so.

Review: In regard to my checking account with PNC Bank, I was charged four overdraft fees totaling $144 on 10/6/14. My account showed a deposit cleared on 10/3/14 bringing the balance to $1,007.02. Four withdrawals were made on 10/3/14 bringing the balance down to $434.69. He kept asking me if I wanted to open up a savings account to help prevent this. I tried explaining to him what my actual issue was and that he was not answering my question. He just responded with a copy of PNC deposit policy. This has been a common occurrence for me and my account with this bank. Over the years, I have been charged literally thousands in overdraft fees and penalties because of there "policy" which tends to be convenient in making them more money from account holders.Desired Settlement: My account was charged $431 in September and October for overdraft fees, late fees, continuous overdraft fees (sometimes two on the same day for $7 and $21). I would like the amount of $144 refunded since I should not have received these since my account was in good standing when these withdrawals were made.

Review: This concerns mortgage loan #[redacted].I have had ongoing problems with the way that PNC Bank applies my payments. I was assigned [redacted] from PNC last year some time, and he is worthless, doesn't return phone calls unless I leave threatening messages indicating I am filing a complaint, and I expect someone who is responsive to be assigned and refuse to work with [redacted] going forward. I do not honestly know how [redacted] has a job at this bank. PNC has repeatedly applied my payments to principle only, which then produces a notice of a late payment and a payment for twice the regular amount that is due. I have discussed this with [redacted] before and requested to begin automatic payments, but as usual, [redacted] never got back to me about that as he said he would nor does he return phone calls.
