Review: I made a deposit to clear a negative account balance on a closed account in which I was told would be reopened. Then I was told that the account wouldn't be reopened, but I would recieve the difference paid back to me. I have not recieved these monies back and have called the regional coordinator for the branch and never recieved a call back. For some reason I can never get the customer service that should be automatic.I also was added to my husbands account and never recieved a debit card. We called repeatedly and was given the run around and still to this day, no card and a negative balance is on the account when we haven't even used it. We recieved checks that were printed incorrectly.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund sent to me and the ability to close my account without being charged a fee.

Review: I am not a customer of PNC Bank. I have been called many times and harassed by their collection dept regarding a loan that is owed by my 81 yr. old mother-in-law. I am not on this loan and I am not responsible for this loan. The representatives have been disrespectful, agressive and persistent. Several months ago the calls became unbearable and affected by health so I spoke with a supervisor that stated that I had in fact asked to be placed on "do not call." The supervisor also apologized and stated that comments have been placed in the "system" and that I would not be called 'ever again.' On June 6, 2013 I was called again and harassed. The person was confrontational and yelled at me. This person, "[redacted]" stated "I don't care" when I informed him that this was not my loan and that I had asked not to be called. He continued to yell so I hung up the phone. I called back and got another person on the phone and it was confirmed by the new person that the notes were in the system "not" to call me. She gave me the name of [redacted]'s supervisor and I also left a message for [redacted]'s supervisor, [redacted]. I am upset, stressed and do not like being harassed.Desired Settlement: I have endured agressive behavior, verbal confrontations over the phone and persistent harassment from PNC employees. They did not follow their own 'do not call policy' otherwise I would not be called. I would like to be reimbursed for my anguish, anxiety and stress over this matter. I have anxiety due to this issue and this persistent calling and confrontation. I would like to be financially reimbursed for my pain and suffering AND I do not want anymore calls from PNC about money owed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

I received a letter from [redacted] at PNC Bank on August 8, 2013, apologizing for their “inconvenience and frustration” they have caused me due to their refusal to stop calling me – as I have continually requested. Ms. [redacted] goes on to state that PNC is “exempt from the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act” but that they would “cease and desist” contacting me on my personal cell phone number. Also, an apology was issued.

Review: My husband and I have been working with PNC to refinance our existing home mortgage loan. This process has been going on since 2012. We have submitted the same documents: Homeowners Insurance; Second Mortgage Information; 4 times now. We have gone through numerous Customer Service reps. Each one tells us they have all the documents they need and that there is nothing more for us to do. Loan should close in two to three weeks. But it never proceeds past that point. I've called numerous times and left messages for the following people: [redacted], Supervisor; and most have never returned my calls. Product_Or_Service: Refinance Home LoanDesired Settlement: I expect a manager at this point to take over our loan and follow it through to the end keeping us informed along the way of any changes, or additional documents etc. As a consumer I have NEVER experienced such unprofessional and lack of service from any company I have dealt with.

Consumer

Response:

Although the loan has since closed, and I will be dropping the complaint, the response they have included here is not accurate, and is in fact false. The closing of our loan is due to our diligence in contacting PNC daily, without any return calls from them, yet we continued to leave messages. Poorest customer service of any business transaction we had ever experienced. Glad it is over.

Review: On several occasions I have requested some form of credit for my Business from PNC. Each time I was refused credit because they would only base it on my income and not the business's income.I was forced to take a commercial pay day loan which was to be withdrawn Daily via an ACH Payment.Because I am in construction and my money comes in lump sum not daily there are times when there are no funds available. PNC then has no problem paying the 68.00 dollars a day plus adding on a charge equal to 50% interested of 36.00, then should the payment be a week late they charge an additional 7.00 per day of additional interest. on two previous occasions I requested PNC to put a hold or Stop on the ACH, But they flat out refused.Recently I torn something in my left knee and am out of work, PNC refuses to provide a reasonable overdraft protection and is basically performing a predatory lending act by pursuing this policy. They are now back mailing me into paying over a thousand dollars in fees or they will report me to [redacted] and I will not be able to open up another account because of this [redacted] conspiracy to rip-off the PublicDesired Settlement: I have no problem reimbursing PNC for ANY money actually paid to my creditor but refuse to pay the ridiculous charges. I want the waived completely.I also want some kind of credit to protect against small overdrafts with out paying a ridiculous fee, if not I want the account closed with no reference or reporting the Account to [redacted].And I will be happy to open an account somewhere else and take PNC to Small Claims To resolve.

Review: Today I looked at my account and found 11 over draft fees at $36 each totaling $396.00 plus a continuous overdraft fee of $14 for a grand total of $410.00Just about 1.5 - 2yrs ago PNC introduced the virtual wallet and was aggressively promoting this new product. I was eventually convinced to visit the branch so that they could explain how this product would benefit me and make life easier.I already had an existing checking account at the time so I was told I would be able to review all accounts online and manage all 5 accounts with the same log in etc! The accounts were to be link so therefore never go into over draft. I also agreed to this and was sure I would have no use for it because I tend to manage the account a little better than that.In a combined total there are a few thousand dollars just sitting there. There is no way had I known my account was over drawn that I would continue to swipe a debit card for purchases like $6 at zaxbys and chipotle $9.79 and be ok with a $36 charge each time. Now I am sure it must have been a key stroke error when the account was opened and supposedly linked to the virtual wallet by Ms. [redacted] but common sense would dictate that I would never want to pay PNC $410 in fees when I have over $5000 just sitting there.I spoke with a representative this morning and he refunded 4 of the 11 charges $144 but that still leave $266. on a professional level I would hope that PNC would want to correct this error. Before I opened the virtual wallet my account was set up to decline if funds were not available to cover a charge. The representative that opened the account was very nice and professional but we are all human and subject to error. My virtual wallet was one of the first accounts being opened at my local branch and I have grown to appreciate it but on principal I cannot stay with a financial institution unwilling to correct their mistakes.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of $410, I have already gotten $144 but a balance of $266 is still out standing.

Review: I applied for 2 loans with this company one alone and one with a co applicant both were denied for lame reasons. They did not intend to qualify me for this loan even though I have a credit score of 714 and my co applicant has a credit score of 798. I have a checking account with them and have never over drawn it. My co applicant has 2 checking accounts a mortgage account and a credit card and yet we are still not good enough to loan $5000.00. They making up excuses not to give me a loan that makes no sense and some one needs to look in to how they can do this when we were good enough for a mortgage and credit cards which has never been over drawn or late but we are not good enough for a loan something is wrong with this picture. If we were so untrustworthy why would give us these things it tell you you have no intention of helping your loyal customer just big companies that you can get brownie points withDesired Settlement: I would like my loan judged fairly and someone to explain how we are good enough for one service but not the other

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They have done nothing but continue to lie they have not judged me or my co applicant fairly and have refused to even investigate the matter. They claim my debt ratio is to high but sent me an application for their credit card so if my debt ratio is so high why would you pre approve me for a credit card. This company is lying and is misleading people they have no intention of loaning us any money in the first place but have no problem taking it from people some one needs to look in to this because it clear this company is not going to investigate what I am saying.

Review: I'm a United States Army Veteran, I qualify for a Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM)program FHA's EEM program helps homebuyers or homeowners save money on utility bills by enabling them to finance the cost of adding energy efficiency features to new or existing housing as part of the FHA-insured home purchase or refinancing mortgage. FHA EEMs provide mortgage insurance for a person to purchase or refinance a principal residence and incorporate the cost of energy efficient improvements into the mortgage. The borrower does not have to qualify for the additional money and does not make a down payment on it. The mortgage loan is funded by a lending institution, such as a mortgage company, bank, or saving and loan association, and the mortgage is insured by HUD. False advertisement, I made an appointment with the Mortgage Loan Originator and was denied. These type programs are available for Veterans when purchasing a home and the government likes for the veterans to use them.Desired Settlement: I will not sue, I want to file a complaint so that other organization will know they false advertise.

Review: My EPPI card is supposed to get a once a month free transaction from PNC ATM, I used a PNC ATM in Oct. 2013 and Nov. 2013 and was charged for the first use. I did call and the Nov. charge was refunded, the Oct. was not they are now telling me that I did a balance inquiry that does not show on my statement.Desired Settlement: I would like the first ATM Fee refunded, I would also like for them to stop charging me for the first use of the month like it is explained in my pamphlet.

Review: This is with regards to my home in North Carolina that was flooded due to burst water lines. The insurance company issued the claim check and I went to my local PNC branch to deposit the check. The check was drawn on ** bank and since I have mortgage on the home with [redacted] bank so the check had both my name and [redacted] bank name. The teller at PNC bank asked me to endorse back of the check and missed that the endorsement from [redacted] bank is needed on the check too and went ahead and deposited the check. PNC bank back office found out that the check is missing necessary endorsement from [redacted] bank and they put a hold on the check. ** bank released the money to PNC bank but PNC bank would not clear the amount to me.It has been more than 18 days now since I deposited the check on Feb-24th and I still don't have the payment released. The contractor company have refused to complete the repairs as I can not pay them and they are charging me more money now as they have to leave their equipments and tool on the job site for longer time and also as they have to incur loss due delaying other jobs that were lined up. I don't blame the contractor company. This have put me and my family in a very difficult situation. I am now required to follow up with my Insurance company and ** bank and PNC bank to get this all resolved. The resolution that PNC bank have taken is clearly not in a timely fashion. PNC bank do not realise the impact of this issue. The ignorant behavior of PNC bank at this branch have caused me and my family mental distress and pain. My work schedule have been disrupted, our daily life is impacted due to the repairs not completed! Please help me with taking action against PNC bank at [redacted]Desired Settlement: As PNC bank bear the responsility of causing me and my family mental distress. We need to be re-imbursed by PNC bank for causing us to go thru this difficult situation.

4-10-2014 responding directly to the customer.

Why I am leaving PNC after 11 years. Impossibly bad customer service. Latest example: I recently changed my online password, but forgot that I changed it - so I entered the wrong password a few times, and the account was locked. So I waited a day, still locked. I called customer service to ask them to unlock the account since I remember my password. They verified my identity via my social security number, my debit card # and card expiration date. They said "Thanks you are verified, but we cannot unlock the account because it is a joint account originally set up under your wife's name". How preposterous is it that they can verify me as an account owner, and then still refuse to unlock MY ACCOUNT?? I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, and I'm sure it is obvious to everyone what happened next - sat on hold for over 30 minutes, and then got disconnected. PNC it is a shame you do not value your customers' time or loyalty. I will spend the next 30 minutes evaluating the hundreds of alternatives to your awful service. Good Riddance!

Review: My wife and I signed up for a PNC Virtual Wallet Select account. We were provided with an offer of $300 if we complied with a few of their rules as stated on the coupon which include a direct deposit from an employer and a bill pay from the PNC Account. PNC refuses to honor this offer that they told us provided us. I have the documentation to verify these processes we followed through upon. We also have a phone call from a PNC Escalation dept employee telling us that we everything was correct except a direct bill pay. As I mentioned, I have documentation to prove that the bills were paid through the PNC service. We have had no customer service response from PNC employees in several weeks even after trying to call them back several times.Desired Settlement: By baiting us into an account then refusing to honor their own promotion is most definitely an act of fraud. We expect the $300 dollars from PNC to honor their commitment.

Review: I purchased a vehicle over two years ago with a loan through PNC Bank. The payments on the vehicle were always on time with no late fees. The vehicle ($18,xxx) is now paid off and yet after a two year dispute they have yet to fix my account information. PNC Bank failed to put my social security number on my loan account therefor resulting in it not reflecting on my credit report. I was repeatedly told by PNC bank representatives throughout the terms of my loan that my social was on the account during the course of my loan. Now that said vehicle is paid off I find that this was an incorrect statement on their behalf. I have submitted, mailed, had notarized every document they requested in order to assist them with fixing THEIR mistake and yet over the course of 2 1/2 years they have yet to fix their mistake. I will never bank through them or have another loan through them because not only are their services inaccurate their representatives are very rude.Desired Settlement: PNC needs to fix this mistake, I can not personally file the dispute on my credit report. It has to come from PNC Bank to show I had an account through them. This has been an ongoing battle for far too long and It needs to be resolved ASAP!I have supplied PNC repeatedly with the information they have requested either the day it is requested or the following day. I have had things notarized, mailed, faxed, emailed, etc yet they have yet to fix their mistake. this needs resolved asap!

Review: In September, according the records provided to me by PNC, two checks were presented simultaneously. They chose to charge fees for both, rather than pay the one check for which funds were fully available. Also, at this time they did not fully credit a deposit to my account withholding $480. Due to losing that extra $36 in fees, a week later I was hit with 2 more overdraft fees for $72. During this time I contacted PNC via their website. I received a voice mail (after hours on Friday 9/13), then a phone call (9/16) which my wife answered. [redacted], from the Escalations Group, requested that I call and leave alternate phone number and best times to reach her. On 9/18, I did just that - noting that I did this from the hospital, where my wife was in surgery due to a miscarriage. On 9/19, instead of returning my call, [redacted] sent me a letter saying "We tried to reach you, please contact us." On 9/24 I called and left the information again. On 9/25 I received the letter asking for the information I had now left twice. I never heard from PNC again. When I woke up this morning, January 16, 2014, I was surprised to see that I was being charged a $36 overdraft fee. A charge to my account in the amount of $35 had posted on 1/15/14. The problem is that this transaction, which I normally see on the 16th, was never in my pending transactions. I had the cash to cover that transaction, but did not make an effort to get it deposited because according to my records (and what PNC had made available to me) I was not going to be overdrawn. I was advised over the phone It is your responsibility to make sure the finds are there according to that, they were, and I knew there was a direct deposit being made that night, and the payment was therefore covered. At no time did the $35 transaction appear online in my pending transactions, so I had no expectation that it was being processed. It would appear that PNC would have known about this transaction, but withheld that from me.Desired Settlement: Refund of $36 from 9/9/13; Refund of $72 from 9/18/13; Refund of $36 from 1/15/14;Total refund of $144

Review: Uncooperative customer service and incompetency

PNC Mortgage "bought" my mortgage from my initial mortgage provider in 2013. It was bought immediately from my initial lender. The flood certificate that came with the loan showed a No Risk area of "zone C" for my property structure, completed by [redacted] flood services. [redacted] guarantees 99% accuracy. No flood insurance is normally required with this rating. PNC, for no justifiable reason, did their own flood certification using their own contracted out flood service, [redacted]. [redacted] determined my property was in a High Risk area of "zone A3." PNC then insisted on flood insurance. The flood map had not changed since 1985. There was no legitimate reason to recheck my flood rating, using another flood services company. I have spent the past 2 months trying to work with PNC and their flood servicer, [redacted]. I have found both companies to be incompetent, lacking in customer service skills, lacking in knowledge of their business processes, and in general difficult and stressful to work with. They have withheld information and refused to give me details that I have requested. I will never work with either of these companies again and I advise everyone else to do the same.Desired Settlement: I request that PNC and [redacted] provide me with specific details, data, charts, and analytical data on how [redacted] determined my flood zone rating for PNC Mortgage. I also required that PNC provide me with an explanation of why my flood determination was "rechecked" upon purchase of my loan, since a brand new flood certificate already came with my loan. Thank you.

Review: They say I am a month behind on my payment. I called wanting this investigated to show me when I missed. They sent me a package of my account that was not explained how to read it. Pages of numbers and columns. Nothing highlighted, still no explanation. It was like, "here, you figure it out!". When I called, even the customer service lady couldn't figure it out. I have records from my bank on the history of payments. But, PNC still hasn't told me where I am late. I want the EXACT month, and they can't tell me!! I am having to pay my bank for old bank statements to prove their mistake(s). I just want to see where I so called skipped a payment. No one has the answere.Desired Settlement: An investigation of my account from the beginning of the mortgage to current, not in the form of the "package" they sent me. I want someone to show me where I owe them!!!}

Review: I went to a PNC bank at [redacted] to close my bank account on July 11th 2014. When I asked the manager that I would like to close my account, he went ahead and closed my account without a question and did not mention any thing about fees that will charged on me. After I came back home, I found that I was charged $25 for closing my account. I came back to PNC, and the manager said he could not do anything to help me, and said it was my responsibility to know all the fee that I am responsible. It is unfair since someone should go over the closure procedure with me or at least remind me that I will be charged for a fee when I asked to close account. if I was informed by this information, I would not close the account right away. I thought PNC and its manager will think more on its customer, but I definitely did not feel that way.Desired Settlement: Refund my $25

Review: On 6/18/2012 I received an email from PNC Bank Online Customer Service ([redacted])state that I'll receive $15 when I start using their online bill pay service. I followed the instructions and setup online services but the $15 never show up.Several months ago this year I sent a message using pnc.com to their customer service requesting closing all my pnc accounts. I received no statement since then so I believe the accounts were closed as requested. But suddenly last week I received a letter from pnc bank and it claims my account was overdrawn and there will be financial charges up to $99. I thought that is a fraud and went online and found my accounts are still open and there's a mystery "calculated service charge" applied on it.I don't understand what is a "calculated service" but I'm clear that I never requested it. I don't know why the PNC bank customer services ignored my closing account request but still charge service fees on the accounts has no activities for months. I don't want to pay for this kind of so called "service".Desired Settlement: 1. PNC bank should credit the $15 they promised for me;2. PNC bank should refund the so called "calculated services fee"3. PNC bank should close all my accounts, as I requested months ago.

Review: PNC adjusts their overdraft policies, as well as holds funds or rearranges transactions, in order to force a few out of a customer, once they realize they are in the process of transferring money to avoid the fees, doing exactly as the bank recommended. I have done this on two situations. A few weeks ago, a deposit was made. However, it was held by PNC for 24 hours, making it late and unable to prevent the fee. This deposit was supposed to go in the day newbie. Second. Today. There was no fee assessed as of last night, but they add one AFTER the deposit was made. These practices should be made clear from the beginning, because I keep getting told one thing. Then it changes when I do it the way I'm told. Not only that, I wonder if these practices aren't illegal.Desired Settlement: I want a refund / credit of at least one of the $36 fees. The recent one was due to practices of reorganizing transactions. The other was due to holding my deposit up by 24 hours (they claim it was not in their system, but that indicates a bank error, as that deposit was to be made that day, and not the next). I also want a detailed list of their overdraft and fee practices,as it seems to have changed since the last time it was sent.

To Whom It May Concern: PNC does not have third party release authorization, however we have addressed the clients concern and sent written correspondence on March 16, 2015. all the company did was send me a letter saying that they are looking into it. They haven't stopped the pmi which by law they should have. I do not have a refund for the payments that they received after the pmi should have stopped. I do not have a new loan payment amount or booklet yet. So they have done nothing yet.
