called this company based on recommendation. the dryer part of the stackable washer / dryer we have was making a weird noise.
they sent a technician who"diagnosed" the problem within seconds by listening to it.. he quoted a fee of $400 to fix, with a
$200 "deposit", he said he would "order" parts, and left.
after several phone calls, he finally returned ten days later.
after ten minutes working on the appliance, he told me the problem was not what he diagnosed, but another part, and quoted a fee that was so outrageous, I declined any further service.
after the technician left, it was discovered the dryer no longer dried clothes. the only reason we called was because the dryer was making noise. it was drying before the technician touched the machine.
since then, this company has taken my repeated phone calls, and promised to have someone call me back. I have heard from a "supervisor", who was very rude. he said he would "talk to the technician", and call me back. he never did.
when I called again to find out when he would call me back, I was told the "general manager" would call me. he called me once when I was not available, and when I called back, I was told he was out of the office, which is what I've been told with the four calls I've made to their office since then.
because of this, I've been forced to dispute the charges of $300 they made on the credit card I gave them.
these people should not be allowed to treat people this way. they are ripoff artists, pure and simple.

Do not use this company for dishwasher repairs. We paid them only to find the work was not completed though the technician said he was going to return with parts. He did not return. We have phoned the local Reliable office six times....they have not returned our calls, We are forced to call in another repair service to fix our dishwasher. thanks to "Reliable".

NO STARS - I wish I could give NO stars. Just like *** in the review below "This company sent out a person that could not speak English well, parked in my driveway and tried to charge $800 for an inverter for a Thermador Freezer. I asked him to give me an estimate with the parts and labor clearly delineated, but he kept insisting that I owed him $69 for the service call. I signed nothing, but clearly asked again for an estimate of charges. While I was getting my wallet, he just picked up his tools and left. No service charge was paid to this company. I hope everyone checks the Revdex.com before calling this company. They would see that they have an F rating.

Do NOT use this company for your appliance repair. We refer to them as "Unreliable" Appliance Service, Inc. Our refrigerator recently needed repair and a Reliable tech showed up as scheduled and "fixed" the issue for $480. A few weeks later, the problem recurred and another tech eventually showed up on a Friday, indicating we needed another part and he would get it on order and install it on Monday. That was two weeks ago. When I checked on the part, it had never been ordered and there was no record of it. After that, no one has returned my calls. In the meantime, our refrigerator died, leaving us no choice but to purchase a new one. This company answers the phone but there is no other response; the techs do not return calls. The same thing is happening to our neighbor, only she has already dropped $1,500 on repairs. It seems the techs show up initially, make a quick fix and charge you, and then don't follow up from there, leaving you hanging. At a minimum, they have a deplorable business model; at the other extreme, they're an outright scam.

I called this service to repair an ice maker in a built in refrigerator. The tech responded on October 10, 2019 and several days later, the tech, after getting the part, replaced the ice dispenser at a cost of $670.00. When my son reported on January 19, 2020 that the dispenser stopped operating (no water) I called on January 24 (out of town until 24th) to ask if the tech could return and fix the problem. I was told in certain terms that while I was calling 16 days later than the day the tech first came and about 11 days after the completion of the repair, the 90 day warranty period expired and despite the fact that I had paid $670.00 to replace the dispenser, I would now have to schedule a new appointment at yet another exorbitant cost. My mistake in this was to not read the reviews filed with the Revdex.com since I would have certainly not called them had I seen the poor experiences others have had with these people. Any reputable business interested in referrals and repeat business would have honored the 90 day warranty. Evidently, Reliable (now there is a contradiction in terms) could care less about it's customers or gaining new ones.

This company sent out a person that could not speak good parked in my driveway and tried to charge $354.00 for a control board for a GE dishwasher. The control board only cost $76.86 from *** in Riverside. I ask him put the part number on the invoice but he just picked up his tools and left. No service charge was paid to this company.
After he left I went outline and found out that was not my problem. The taps were screwed to the count to tight and caused the top of the dishwasher to Bow a little.

This is a scam place. My washer top door was not locking. They sent a guy that could barely speak English.
He kept saying that to not put anything on the top of washer and I kept repeating that I don't, but he would not take that for an answer.
He charged me $69.95 for about 5 minutes of work and then proceeded to say "its a busy day" and left.
He didn't fix the problem.
I called many times to speak to a manager and they kept saying, "he will call you back." A week has
gone by, but no call.
DO NOT WASTE your money to call these people, they take your money and won't repair anything!!!

I called Reliable Appliance Service, Inc to fix my company's stand alone ice maker. The Tech, Eugene, did not show up during the time frame so he came in the following morning - I had to call 4x to get someone to tell me what was going on. When he showed up, he "fixed" the circuit board which took him from 8:30am - 9:30am and charged me $950 and gave me a 100 discount when I asked. He explained it was $300 for labor and $550 for parts. He had completed the work without my approval of price or review of work. He demanded I sign the invoice so he could leave. This company had taken my credit card info on the phone when I made the appointment so my payment was processed even though I never approved the work. Then after the weekend, 2 days after his service call, the machine still didn't work. I called to tell the company that the work he did - did NOT fix the machine. He came back out and quoted me another $1,700 to fix it. I said I cannot pay that and he angrily left. I am highly unsatisfied and upset that work was done without approval or consent and I was forced to pay him a hefty price tag without approval.

Contacted "Reliable" to fix clicking ignitors in *** Stove Top. Tech said ALL ignitors and Ignition Switches had to be replaced. Also Ign. Module in Warming Drawer. 2 weeks to order parts. He returned , installed parts but had to wait another 2 weeks for more parts. Returned, installed ($2300.00) . 2weeks later problem returned. Made appt. for next day, he did not show up. Have called and spoken w/sales agents and made 3 more appts., and he has not shown up for any of them. We have not received any calls or correspondence from "Reliable"! The problem with the stove still remains! These people are crooks!

We are currently looking into this matter. We can have an area supervisor out this upcoming Thursday. Please advise.

Customer Response • Nov 19, 2019

Business called on 11/19/2019 to set up another appt. I rejected the offer stating that after 4 No-Show appts. made in the past I am not willing to wait around for the 4-6 hour window "just in case" they show up. I will find another service company to remedy the problem!

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Nov 20, 2019

We in fact did offer to send out an area supervisor to rectify any concerns, but the client declined our offer.

This company will come out and quote a price for the repair, take your $69.95, say they will order parts and call to schedule the repair but you will never hear from them again. I have called their 800 number to try to get the repair completed but I'm told that they will have the tech call me but he (Robert) never does, his phone goes to VM or he rejects the call. The people at the 800 number say they will have his supervisor call me but that hasn't happened either. I requested a refund for the service call since they are obviously never going to complete the work but I was told that that was for the service call, so they steal your $69.95 and never plan to do the repair work.

Read the back of your invoice regarding disputes.

I asked the repairman to come to my house to repair my dishwasher and microwave. He showed up and spent 5 minutes her and said he had to check into it. In the process he made me give him a credit card for service call ( that would be applied if service was done ). After that time, I never heard back from them. I have called and talked to them several times and there response is only - I will try and contact the repair man. It has been 4 weeks and I have not heard back from anyone. But they charged me for the service call

A scam indeed. Perhaps illegal. Certainly unethical.

After no less than 5 minutes on site, a representative presented me with an invoice for $69,95 and told me that my appliance was working correctly (not making a noise).

Actually, he had turned the appliance off. When I turned the appliance back on in front of him, the noise returned.

He then told me the appliance was broken.

I agreed and told him it was the thermostat (based on what I had read and tested). He agreed and said he did not have the part and would need to return. I had sent my suggestion, and appliance make/model earlier to ensure that he could have the part for the first visit. He said he did not consider what people suggested, and that he determined what was needed.

I told him I would not pay him, and asked him to leave immediately.

My bad. It should have been a sign that they missed the 3 previous day's appointments, and arrived an hour late for the fourth day (after confirming their arrival time).

Call them only if you want to be taken, and left with your problem.

Back in February I filed a complaint with this company and then with the Revdex.com about the situation that happened with Victor, the representative for this company. I wrote a letter to Peter Y about the innappropriate behavior of this big russian man who came into my house, disconnected my air unit and told me I needed a new compressor for $4000. I had to call my Father because I became very afraid and certain points of our conversation. I told Victor to leave, he would not leave without a check. I gave him the check to get him out of my home. I am a single mother and was frightened to say the least. After I called my Father, Victor all of sudden could fix the problem for$200... Again, I asked him to leave and told him that if I find out I didn't need a new compressor I would put a stop on the check. I hired Ron from *** and Air who told me not only was compressor in good shape, the unit switch was turned off.... I called the company to let them know I was stopping the check and the reasons why. The girl on the phone said she would take me to court. I told them to bring it on. I also wrote a letter via email to Peter Y who wrote back to me stating that he was sorry and to disregard the letter asking for the money for the check and threatening lawsuit. It was dropped. Until today, August 29th, 2019 I received a threatening letter from this company for the money again. This is now harassment and I want it to stop or I will sue them in Small Claims for everything I can possibly get. This man, Victor should have been fired and the rep today on the phone said he was still working there. He is not to be trusted and neither is this company. I haven't checked my credit report yet, but if there is anything on there from this company I will sue them for defamation

During our correspondence in April, we have requested supporting documentation from *** regarding your claim of misdiagnosis. We never received a response....

This company lied to me stating that you can no longer buy my size of appliance and I would need to buy all new kitchen cabinets unless they repaired it. I asked to research his facts but he said it was too late because he already ordered the part on his phone. He charged me an extra $250 to overnight a part that was actually next door to his place of business and $689 for a $33 part. They charged me a total of twice the cost of a new appliance after not fixing it the first time with $1200 for Freon on an under counter refrigerator for a total of $2000 over two visits. They torched the paint off my kitchen cabinets when adding Freon and the refrigerator still did not work at all. The manager stated that he could charge any amount he could get away with and then threatened me repeatedly when I contested the bill with my bank. I had to call the police to stop their harassment.

Total rip off, wanted us to pay $700 to replace freon in our LG refrigerator. And another $1500 for a compressor. Also spoke in a foreign language on the phone so I couldn't understand what was being said. Very untrustworthy and shady.

Unreliable SERVICE! Showed up late to the first service call. Said he had to order the part. We paid for the first service and the part. Service tech said it would be 3-5 days. We had to call him to get a service update on day 5. The service tech keeps lying to us saying can't get the part. Called today (day 5) and said he has the part then called back and said doesn't have the part and is cancelling his service for TODAY. We can’t get out of the service, can’t get anyone to respond to us with a real answer and never shows up in the time frame they give. We’ve lost work time waiting for them to show up for a service they never came for.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, part availability is a factor beyond our control. We will contact you as soon as we receive the part.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution to be unsatisfactory. We have received the part and fix but your customer service, lying and lack of responsiveness is the issue. We want to be discounted or compensated for our time wasted waiting for your services! You told us it would be $300 we paid $330 and have had hours of missed work waiting for a tech that never showed up!

Regards

An estimate is defined as an approximate range of cost, subject to some variation. Please follow the instructions listed on the back of the invoice for further assistance.

They ruined my washing machines by replacing my door boots with door boots that did not fit properly causing the washing machines to exude smoke and make the clothes smell like chemicals. The office manager Peter Y is very unreasonable and refuses to be fair.

They scammed myself, a mentally disabled woman and my 86 year old mother (who doesn't speak English very well) $750 to "fix" my refrigerator. The fridge and freezer were no longer staying cold. The invoice states that the technician replaced 2 sensors and cleaned some part of the refrigerator. However, the only "work" that was done to the refrigerator was an inspection and increasing the temperature gauge levels of both the freezer and the fridge to their maximum cold settings. Even at maximum cold settings, the entire refrigerator unit is still not functioning properly.

Unfortunately, the refrigerator not only remains broken but during the service there has been MORE damage caused by their technician to not only the refrigerator but also to the surrounding area: Water pipe damage and subsequent water leak damage to floors, ice machine damage, water dispenser damage, refrigerator light bulb damage.

I followed their dispute directions and faxed a complaint to receive a refund (not even to have them pay for the additional damage they caused) and the manager Peter just called and yelled at me on the phone, refused to refund my money, said that all of the other damage was already there before the technician started (lied), and said they will send out a supervisor to "inspect the previous work" but in reality it is to just legally cover their own tracks.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Jun 17, 2019

As per our telephone conversation on 6/13/19, there has been existing damage to your water lines and icemaker upon our arrival. Our technician even asked if your icemaker was working, to which you responded yes, but it was never connected...Furthermore, our records indicate a payment of $700 has been collected - not $750. You have failed to comply with our instructions and did not provide us with an opportunity to confirm your claim of the repairs we have performed being unsuccessful. We have attempted to schedule a recall appointment for the area supervisor but you've declined our offer. The notice of three day right to cancel applies to any deposit collected, not for a completed job. The repairs we have performed are covered under our standard 90 day warranty and we can still send out an area supervisor to review your claim. Please advise.

Customer Response • Jun 26, 2019

There was no existing damage to the water lines, the ice maker, or the water dispenser prior to the arrival and inspection of the technician. The technician was called to fix the only issue with the refrigerator: both the fridge and the freezer are not staying cold. The receipt provided shows $750 paid: $50.00 for "labor" + $700.00 for parts. As per the contract, "Refrigerant charges are excluded from warranty." Therefore, "The repairs we have performed are covered under our standard 90 day warranty and we can still send out an area supervisor to review your claim." is another blatant lie in addition to the false accusations that our water lines, ice maker, and water dispenser were broken before the inspection occurred. "You have failed to comply with our instructions and did not provide us with an opportunity to confirm your claim of the repairs we have performed being unsuccessful. We have attempted to schedule a recall appointment for the area supervisor but you've declined our offer." As per the notice sent to the company utilizing my contractual agreed upon 3 day right to cancel, Reliable Appliance Service was offered the opportunity to pick up their goods: “A representative of Reliable Appliance Service may pick up the good(s) on Saturday, June 14, 2019 at 12:00pm.” A technician has not responded nor reached out to me to rectify the situation beyond the harassing and hostile phone call that was received by a man named Peter on 6/13/19 who refused to refund my money for a service that was paid for but not received. I have attached a copy of the receipt, the contract, a copy of the 3 day right to cancel that was faxed to Reliable Appliance Service, and a copy of the initial notice that was faxed to Reliable Appliance Service asking for a refund (a notice required to be faxed to Reliable Appliance Service as per their instructions). My refrigerator is still not maintaining a constant cold temperature and as such food and drinks are constantly spoiling, causing significantly higher costs to replace foods and drinks in addition to the undue stress and travel expenses to and from the grocery store and the significant increase chance of falling ill due to food poisoning from the consumption of spoilt food and/or drinks.

Elliott from Reliable appliances repair, was sent out to my home for a service call to examine my 7 year old refrigerator not cooling consistently. My husband had taken the ice maker out of the top of the refrigerator to keep cool air in the top of our refrigerator. Elliott "guessed" what the problem "could be" and said to put the ice maker back in the fridge so that he could come back out and reevaluate the problem...
My husband did exactly as instructed, and called Elliot back as he was instructed to do. When Elliott came back he said "temperature is fine, call when you have problem, I need to see problem". So we waited and there was still no rhyme or reason to the random fluctuation in temperature, so we called Reliable appliances repair to give the details once again about the temp fluctuations; believing that surely as this is their business they might know how to fix this problem as promised.
Nope! Elliot came into my home again, just as rude and seemingly angry as the other times he was here. He opened my refrigerator which was starting to rise in temperature over the last hour before he had arrived, so it was looking promising that he would be able to better diagnose the actual problem... Again, nope! He said "you had door open." Which we hadn't opened since around 9:30am -it was now 2pm. He took a can out of the fridge and handed it to me and said "it's cold", he shook his head. I gave him the first invoice from his first visit, and he said "O, this is the problem". He didn't seem very sure, but being hopeful, I proceeded to write him a check for the $100.00 parts deposit, and then came the debate about the initial $69.95 service call fee being applied to the repair total - that I was now moving forward with. He repeatedly said "this is your problem, not mine" and that "when I come to a house it counts as service call", "I need to make money". When I protested he handed my check and said "good luck with fridge" and left.

We will issue a refund of service call fee for the sake of customer satisfaction.

Please Make Refund Out To Robert Rohde (My Father) Who Paid The Original Service Fee, By Check.

Worst company ever. They bailed on the first service call and asked me to reconsider if they gave me a $25 discount. My dishwasher door was broken. I knew the part cost $89. They wanted to charge me $109 plus tax, plus his labor for a total of over $300. When I told them I wanted him to leave he said I had to pay the $69 service call and they wouldn’t give me the $25 off of that. At that point I felt very unsafe and wanted this man out of my home. I paid him to get him to leave. I cannot underscore how rude, and unprofessional they were.
