The worst service ever! I will never recommend this company to anyone!

I contacted this company on 09/20/2018 and I was given a appointment window between 4-7 PM for 09/21/2018. The repair person Khabis came out at 6:46 PM on 09/21/2018 and ask me what the problem is, I informed him that it was the knob which is what I reported. He proceeded to break the dryer down completely when it wasn't needed. I asked him why was he breaking the dryer down. He said that it was routine to find the problem. I informed him that I already stated the problem was the knob. He finished and informed me that it was the timing and it will be $422 to repair but the timing worked when we used a tool to turn the timer the dryer worked. I paid him the fee of $69.95 for coming out. His explanation didn't sit well with me or my son so I contacted another repair service. This repair service sent out a representative that stated it was the knob. He proceeded to turn a tool and the dryer worked but there was a banging noise, to make a long story short Reliable Appliance Service representative reinstalled my dryer that he shouldn't had taken apart incorrectly. I called the company on 09/24/2018 at 8:00 AM and explain the disservice the representative on the phone stated a manager will call me. Six hours pass and no manager so I proceeded to call Reliable Appliance Service, Inc. back and another representative informed me that management has 24 hours to call. However, as of today 09/25/2018 at 9:00 AM 24 hours is up. However, why would you want to wait 24 hours when you have an unsatisfied customer. I found out today from my coworker that she use this company and received the same treatment. Consumers beware!

More like "UN" Reliable:
RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY… This is why “Un”Reliable Appliance has LESS than a 2 STAR rating-they charge an $85 DIAGNOSTIC fee and when their tech can’t figure out what is wrong, they won’t refund it and they farm out some work to other repair people. My receipt says Local Appliance Repairmen!!! Really!!!

On Sunday morning, August 26th I woke up to find my refrigerator had stopped working. I called Reliable Appliance Repair at 6:30 AM and was told they could have someone at my house between 8 and 10 that morning. I said that’s great.

I got a call from Phillip at 9:45 saying he was on his way. He arrived at 10 and at 10:15 said he had a diagnosis and it would take 15 minutes to replace the part. He wrote up an invoice for $235.52. They charge $85 for a diagnosis but if they do the repair they waive the $85 fee and on top of it they gave me a $30 discount which is advertised on their website. So when I was told $235.52 and it would be fixed in 15 minutes, I said that’s great, let’s get it done.

Two hours later Phillip realized he misdiagnosed what was wrong with my refrigerator and said it wasn’t the part he originally thought (which he had already replaced) but in fact it was a part on the circuit board. They do not have the part, can order it and it takes two days and wont have it until Wednesday, August 29th. Disappointed, I said what choice do I have, go ahead and order the part. Of course my bill changed from $235.52 to $280.97. Okay, still not bad. Phillip asked for a partial payment of $165, which I gave him. Phillip said he would call me during the day on Wednesday to let me know what time he would be at my house to finish the repair.

At 3:05 PM on Wednesday, I called his office and asked them to contact him because I had not heard from him and what time he was planning on finishing the repair. While I waited on hold the office person called Phillip then came back to me and said that Phillip was with a customer and would call me later. I said, no, please have Phillip call me and give me a time that he plans to be at my house. Phillip called and said he would be at my house at 7 PM. At 7:15 PM I tried calling Phillip and got no answer so I tried the office. I got no answer there and there wasn’t an option to leave a message. At 7:22 Phillip texted me and said he was still at his 4-6 appointment and would come as soon as he was finished there. I asked that he please call me when he was on his way and he said he would.

At 8:20 PM I texted Phillip and asked what the status was, that he was now over an hour late in getting to my appointment. At 8:40 PM Phillip texted that he just finished the job he was at and was on his way. It will take him 20 minutes to get to my house and 20 minutes to finish the repair. After arriving and reinstalling the circuit board the refrigerator still did not work. Throughout his time at my house on Sunday and again Wednesday night, Phillip was using Google to try and figure out what the issue was. I kept asking him to call his office or another tech to get some help and he kept insisting he didn’t need any help. He suddenly put the circuit board back in place stood up grabbed his bag and said “I think it’s the compressor” and started heading for the door. I asked him how much and he replied $800. He did not ask if I wanted the repair done or to have another tech come and verify. He didn’t even put my refrigerator back where it belonged.

I talked to a manager the next day and was told that a refund would be given, but that she would need to talk to a supervisor above her. She called me at 4 pm Thursday afternoon and said that they would only refund $80 of the $165 that I paid. Again, I guess this is how they make their money. They send a tech that doesn’t know how to fix anything to your house and then refuses to refund the DIAGNOSTIC fee when he can’t figure it out.

Ashley, the manager said it would take 5-7 business days for my refund to go through. Monday was a holiday so if she processed it on Friday morning I should have gotten my refund by the following Friday but that didn’t happen. I got my refund NINE days later.

Run away from this company, their techs are fresh out of diapers and they use Goggle to try and figure out the problem. I doubt if any of them are licensed to do repair. And it wasn’t my compressor EITHER.

Reliable Appliance Service is a company that misrepresents themselves and have no integrity.
Case and point, I called Reliable Services to come up and diagnose the problem on my refrigerator, they told me that the problem was that the coil needed cleaning and a new hose.
I was told by the refrigerator will be up and running within 24 hrs. They charged $276.62 dollars. I called the next day to let them know that the refrigerator was not working, the service person on the phone told me that it had a 90 day warranty and that the problem was going to be fixed free of charge.
The service man arrived the next morning, and put a new part in the refrigerator saying that that would fix the problem, but he proceeded to charge another $120.00 dollars wich I refuses to pay.
He took the part away from the fridge, walked out of the house, without fixing it. I am very disatisfied that Reliable service didn't fix the refrigerator. I was told by Eric the service man that it could take three or four visits before they were able to diagnose the problem. I demanded to talk to a supervisor only to be told that the manager was on vacation. I left three messages with the main office to have a supervisor call about my complaint and never received a return call. I have since put a stop payment on my credit card. I called a repreable company to fix the problem only to find out that the refridgerator needed freon. Reliable is a scam artist at best. Beware.

Consumers beware! This is a shady business to say the least! My overall rating is "0" star!
These people should be ashamed for calling themselves "Reliable" as they are utterly unreliable. I found them online and called them to schedule a service call for a repair service on my dryer. I was told on the phone that the service call is free which is a false advertisement.
Anyway, initially the repairman came between the window of time promised, spent about 5 minutes looking at my dryer, told me it needed a door latch (which needed to be ordered). He asked me for my credit card number, wrote me a receipt for parts and labor and told that he would be back in two days at 3 PM.
Two days later I waited patiently for him, and 4 PM went by, then 5 PM went by. Each time I called the company, each time the receptionist assured me he would soon be there. Then 6 PM went by, he still hadn't shown up. At this point I was already pretty ticked off. So I called again to cancel the whole thing.
By the way, I had never received a single call from the company (neither the receptionist nor the repairman) that repairman would be late, how late, and approximate new arrival time, etc.) To me that is totally unprofessional. These people have no regards for your time being wasted waiting for their guy who apparently didn't understand time-management.
Anyway, due to my cancellation, I was in the impression that there would be no charge to my card. However, to my surprise, my card was charged a week later for $69.95. When I called to contest about the charge, the receptionist now told me the charge was for the service call whether the repair is done or not.
It's not the charge that I'm unhappy about. It's a matter of principle! This company doesn't have any hesitation charging the customers for their time, but give zero value to their customers' time.
Lesson Learned:
1. Do not use this company.
2. If you decide to use them, be sure the so-called "free service call" is put in writing.
3. Do not, I repeat do not give the repairman your credit card number until the work is complete (if ever).
4. Report the incident to the Revdex.com, which I'm going to do next.

The technician came 2.5 hrs late after I followed up with their office. Then he was rude and very unprofessional. He didn't know what was wrong with my stove top and tried to sand the pilot with a small sand paper. Then he didn't know what to do and randomly said it will cost $1000 to repair it. I asked him he didn't even check for a part or a price or anything. He said "I know"!! He was extremely rude and not knowledgeable. Their management is also unprofessional. After writing them emails and calling them for a week, after one week manager responded that they are not returning my money. Zero customer service and lack of knowledge.
This is a very fraudulent and misleading company.

I asked Reliable to come fix a Uline beverage cooler. They knew the make and model before they sent a technician. The tech took the appliance apart and then told me the mother board was bad and I needed to contact Uline because they "have a special computer that talks to the appliance." He couldn't fix it. When I contacted Uline, they laughed at me and referred me to a tech who could fix it. The new tech was able to fix the appliance with no issues (ordered a part). Reliable charged me $70 for the service call, even though the tech had no idea how to fix my appliance. I allege they knowingly sent a tech who had no idea how to fix my appliance. I allege this company is scamming consumers to get the $70. Once I discovered the unit could be fixed and I would have to pay another technician for a service call plus cost of parts, I stopped payment on the check to Reliable. I just received a letter (no phone call first to resolve the issue) threatening to send the matter "to the District Attorney's Office for potential criminal prosecution" and "send it to a third party collection agency." I have 10 days to pay the original $70 plus a $30 service charge, for a total of $100. The letter also demands "refrain from calling our office to resolve." This company is scamming consumers by sending technicians they know cannot provide the service requested in order to collect a $70 call fee, then threatening them with criminal prosecution when they don't pay. I believe this is extortion, especially since they refuse to attempt to resolve the matter over the phone.

We have explicit instructions on the back of the invoice explaining necessary steps should your service be unsatisfactory. Stoping a payment on the check issued to us is not one of them. You have the option of sending us the invoice from another service provider reflecting services rendered, which we will consider and respond to.

I had left out an important detail in my original complaint. Business phone records will show I called the business twice the following week of original service date requesting them to complete the repairs (to the fridge) as promised. They never called back to provide status or fulfill their promised repair. Due to this lack of response, I had no choice but to stop payment. I reject the notion that I should have found other ways to resolve. And if that was the case, why didn’t they call me to notify me of that?

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Aug 29, 2018

All of the pertinent information was listed on the back of your invoice.

Called these people on May 12, 2018 because my refrigerator fan was making a loud noise. Technician came opened up the freezer door and fridge door. Said there was nothing wrong with fan, didn't check out anything. Charged me 69.95. After some thought I stopped payment on check. Heard nothing until August 24, 2018 when I received a threatening letter. I e-mailed the company and told them what happened. They emailed back saying that they had reset my dish washer and that I owed them for doing so. I don't even have a dishwasher and I responded to them telling them that. So far they have not answered me back.
I have refused to pay them. This company should be shut down. I wish I could give them a zero rating.

Charged $69.95 to do a diagnostic on Air Conditioning outside unit Saturday August 11th. Did nothing but take it apart and take pictures with iPhone and did not reinstall fan cover to unit. Technician said would call back on Monday August 13 with estimate for repair. Did not receive a call. Called them on August 16t to inquire as to the status of the repair. Still have not received a call back. In actuality all they did was take my money for the service call with the knowledge that they state would deduct the service call charge from the repair bill. They just want to take the customers money with promise of repairing and no further action taken to complete any further repairs.

We havent been in business for over two decades collecting service calls....see back of your invoice for dispute directions.

Customer Response • Sep 13, 2018

your tech said he was going to call me with an estimate of the repair costs. Your company never bothered the call with any information. I don’t know how you stay in business treating customers this way. I am over 70 years old. Having the air out of service for any length of time is a hardship. I would have willing paid for repairs that you could have made to my system had you called with an estimate. I have been a service technician myself. If I treated my customers as yours did I would have been fired on the spot. I still would like a full refund.

I want a refund for the amount paid. You did absolutely nothing. How can you stay in business treating customers like you do. Your company never called back with any estimate for repairs. I would have paid for the repairs had you done so. But that meant apply to cost of the service call refund as part of that estimat. You are not a repair service if all you do is come out look at the system.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Sep 14, 2018

As we have mentioned in our previous correspondence, see back of your invoice for dispute instructions.

Customer Response • Sep 20, 2018

If that is the only response you can give “refer to the back of the invoice to resolve disputes”. I did call the dispatch office. I am asking a full refund of $69.95. No work was ever done. No. Work was ever estimated what it would cost to replace the fan. Your company should not be in business if all you want to do is take service calls for 69,95 and never do any follow up repairs as promised by your so called technician. I call that fraudulent.

The company attempted twice to repair my *** ice maker without success. Several times I requested a manager return my call and sen out a different repairman and did not receive a return call. Hence, the ice maker is still not working.

On Saturday, 8/11/18, I had the company's repair service come to my residence to repair my laundry washer.
The repairman (Robert) simply put tape on a part in the machine (actually, he had us assist him), and did not check his work.
He charged us $150 for his tape “repair”.

The machine is still making the odd, grinding noises we originally reported and gears do not seem to be fully engaging during the wash cycle.

As soon as we noticed the machine had not been properly fixed, both my wife and I have called separately to get the company to come back and fix it – several times. We were originally given a window of time on Monday, and a no one from the company called to showed up.
When we called to tell them so, we spoke with someone (Pamela) who said they would have the repairman call and confirm a time.
No call back has been received. Since then, I have called and left additional messages, while my washer remains broken.
It is now Thursday, 8/16/18.

In accordance with improper repair and the company’s failure to return my calls to resolve this situation, I have stopped payment on the check that I provided.

We have explicit instructions listed on the back of the invoice and received your email yesterday. We will look into the matter and respond accordingly.

Company came to our home gave estimate to repair appliances paid them 594.00 they have been here 7 times and can not repair the items I want my money refunded

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Aug 16, 2018

We have left a voicemail yesterday regarding the refund amount. Pending call back from the consumer.

Customer Response • Aug 16, 2018

I have no missed calls or voice message from the company. The amount is $594.00 I am not sure what they need to know about the amount. That is the total we paid them and they have not repaired anything after the stories and 7 attempts we are done trying to see if they can fix the appliances

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Aug 17, 2018

Follow instructions listed on the back of your invoice.

Customer Response • Sep 20, 2018

the response they provided is telling me I need to provide them in writing that I want a refund. I have made it know both verbally and in writing in person on their invoice that I wanted a refund. I would also think that this communication is written therefore they are well aware that the refund is expected. Additionally the last reply was that they were processing a credit to me. I also spoke to them and they said they were mailing me a check. I have not received anything from them.

This company perpetrates fraud, plain and simple. A technician came to the house to look at our leaking *** fridge and literally within 30 seconds of opening the refrigerator door told us that we needed a new "bimetal thermostat" for $150 as well as a new "heating element" for $180. Along with labor, the total repair would be $650. We asked him how he could dianose the problem so quickly without even really inspecting the fridge and he replied "It is my job". I looked up the actual cost of the parts and discovered:
bimetal thermostat: $11.99 (he claimed $150)
heating element: $42.41 (he clained $180)
We called another repair business (General Refrigeration Service, in Oakland) and discovered that all that was wrong was a clogged drainage tube. The part was replaced and, along with labor, the total cost was only $185.
I recommend you avoid this company at all cost!

some time around July 7th 2018 I called Reliable Appliance Service, Inc. to schedule a service call so they can come and repair my whirlpool washing machine because it was leaking water through the front door. And on July 11th the technician showed up , and found that the rubber boot needed to be replaced caused it had a cut in it and that's where the water was coming out from according to the technician, at that time I also made him aware that the front door that was hanging and we needed to lift it up in order for it to close. he said no problem he also said he was going to bring a hinge kit so he can fix it. so he told me it would cost $300.00 to get it fixed.... I agreed to it. So he said I would need to make a deposit of $100.00 before he can place an order for the parts needed. I gave him the $100.00 deposit and said in a few days he would come back with the part so he can finish the job. On July the 17th he came back , installed the rubber boot but did nothing about the door hinge and he assure me that I should not have any problems. the following day we started washing only to find out that water was still coming out from the front door. called the to reschedule a rework and up to this day I have not been able to get him to come back so he can fix it right. I have made numerous calls and they just tell me someone will call me later to reschedule a visit , but nobody ever calls. and now they are just giving me excuses

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Aug 07, 2018

Unfortunately we can not control part availability (hinges). However, you do have warranty for the work we have performed. We will contact you right now to schedule a recall appointment with our area supervisor.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Luis ***
At this point they promised me to come back no later than the middle of next week with a part to finish the repair job ( August 15th 2018 ). I was also told by a Revdex.com rep. that if they don't follow through I can always call back so the case can be reopened.

Customer Response • Aug 29, 2018

this is Luis *** I had filed a complaint about this business that came to fix my washing machine, but it never was fixed right. At one point after contacting Revdex.com and them receiving an email or letter from your department, they came back to try to fix it right. last thing they told me they were going to order the part through and after market supplier since the manufacturer does not have the part anymore. But so far its been more than two weeks and a half and they haven't even bother to tell me whats going on . I'm so irritated by this business incompetence that I just would like to get my money back . I'm $275.00 dollars out of pocket and still have a washing machine that keeps leaking water. I was told this case can be reopened if they would not do anything about fixing my unit right . below you will see one of the emails I received from Revdex.com notifying Reliable Appliance Service,Inc. I hope I would hear from you soon . thanks in advance for looking into this matter.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Aug 30, 2018

We told you we would contact you once the part comes in, which we intend to do. If we haven't called, you can safely conclude the part has not arrived.

They are a rip off. Tech came out and does not know how to trouble shoot my microwave. The tech pointed to the light socket and said it needs to be replaced. Tried to tell me it had a fuse in it.

The guy was here for all of 10 minutes and tried to charge $565.00 + $235.00 for the part. This was to replace a motor control board in a was machine. 30 minute job at best.

Paid $471.55 to have a new ice maker installed in my *** refrigerator on 4/24/2018. The ice maker stopped working the evening of 7/26/2018. Called and was told warranty expired on 7/24/2018. You would think that for almost $500 it would last more than 3 months.

My dryer that is only 2 years old was making noise when I would use it so I called Reliable to come out and fix the problem and the technician just listened to the noise said the drum was out of place and “fixed” it. He didn’t even bother to check further if that was the issue and wrote me a receipt for the service call and I paid it in full with a check. When I tried to use my dryer the next day it was making that same squealing noise but even louder and worse. Now my dryer won’t even work! I have phoned them multiple times to have someone come and fix and have had 2 separate appointments with them and neither of those appointments the technician did not show! I tried following up yet again to have someone come out and fix the issue and have the technician call me and I still have not heard back from him! This is by far the single worst company I have ever dealt with and my dryer still doesn’t work!

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Jul 27, 2018

Thanks for your feedback. The service call fee you have paid is only a trip charge. The technician balanced the drum as a courtesy but advised of parts to be replaced (rollers) should balancing not resolve the issue.

found this company in the yellow pages assuming they were located in my area, come to find out they sub out . A tech came to check one home a/c he was extremely rude so I called my friend for him to talk to him he became extremely angry he got off the phone told me we were stupid I told him he had a bad attitude and calm down. I am 71 and he scared to me so bad I told him to get out of my house. NOW I have tried calling several times to talk to a manger but the girl who answers the phone refuses to put me through to anyone They need to be aware what kind of employees they have not only that but he quoted me for a totally incorrect solution which would have extremely costly for me. This is absolute senior abuse.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Jul 13, 2018

Thank you for your feedback. We will be looking into this matter.

Please see their website, it’s confusing...I thought from reviewing the website in Addison to speak with someone on their call center that I would receive $25 off the initial call. On the bottom of their website, they state $25 off...when Eddie came by today at 4.30pm, he diagnosed the problem (Estimate of $477) and Charged me the full price of $69.95 and I feel this is very disingenuous and misleading.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Jun 28, 2018

Our service call is essentially a trip charge. The website states to ask for details as the $25 off the total estimate is a special we are offering for clients whom engage in actual repairs. The service call fee was thoroughly explained at the time of making the appointment.

I would not even given this company 1 star rating!!!
On May 8 I had a service man come out to evaluate a problem with both my Miele oven and dishwasher. I was quoted repair parts for the oven to be $420 and dishwasher $350 and then an additional $200 for labor. (Total $970)
I contacted the Miele Warranty people and they inquired as to which parts were needing to be replaced so that proper warranty info could be setup.
As of today (50 days later) and about 10 different "round around" phone calls and messages, I was never told which specific parts (part numbers) needed to be replaced but now am told that the "2 parts for the oven would be $250 each and $500 for labor". (Total $1000) This DID NOT include anything for the dishwasher!! No explanation for this horrendous price and Labor difference was given. I referred to my written invoice which quoted the prices for repair parts and labor.
I find it offensive and a TERRIBLE business practice to be so dishonest in your business dealings with clients.
The final phone call to them was met with a terribly rude gal and therefore, I felt it to be critically important to steer anyone from doing business with this company!
Never again!! I will certainly spread the word about this company to all I know.
Now , I move forward to find someone honest and decent in their business practice. So sad to see what the world is becoming.
