The service tech. without inspecting or checking advised of a Freon leak and bad "coil" in my ice maker Said the repairs would be $1200. Told him I would buy a new one and paid the $69.95. Took machine outside, tinkered with the controls and I now have an ice machine that works. Wanted a refund on my service call and all I am getting is a run-a-round. Poor company to deal with!

Sirs,
I own a rental condominium at *** The LG dishwasher in the kitchen was not cleaning dishes properly leaving a film on dishes at end of cycles.
I hired Reliable to fix the dishwasher. Reliable arranged to have a technician meet my tenant on morning of June 8th. It just so happened that my handyman was working on window cranks during this same time. Reliable's technician was on property only 10 minutes according to both my handyman and tenant. The technician called me to state that the problem was the hot water was not hot enough to properly clean dishes.
This did/does not solve the dishwasher problem. I called Reliable that same afternoon to discuss this. I was told I need to speak to supervisor with the first name of Paul. They could not/would not provide me Paul's last name? I did NOT receive a call back that Friday. I again called Reliable Monday June 11, 2018 in the morning to try and reach this supervisor Paul. Was told he was in the field but would call me back. After not hearing back I again called Reliable that Monday afternoon to reach Paul but was again unable and was again told Paul would call me back. Tuesday June 12, 2018 I again called Reliable having still not hearing back from Paul. To date I have never heard back from Reliable regarding my dishwasher problem.
Have since hired a different appliance repair firm to fix by dishwasher.
My experience with this service merchant has been very poor.

Alex from the reliable co came to fix the kitchen stove and microwave. He said we need to change the front panel. He charged me $69.95 for the inspection.
Then he called me next day to pay $469 to order the panel from ***. I paid by credit card the full amount
2 weeks later he came with the new panel but it did not work still. He said I had to buy new stove and microwave because he can not fix it.
I asked for my money back for the new pane but he said he can not return it and it's a loss for me.
He took the old panel and the new and left
I need my money back and the old panel as well
thank you

I have been calling and leaving messages for *** the manager who promised me the refund but he totally is ignoring my messages and did not talk to me since he promised the refund a week ago.

I will wait one week to get the refund back

Wow. I am humbled. All that I can say is that I am an it. I see the big "F" Revdex.com rating and the 1 Star Yelp review and I still gave these thieves my hard earned money.
They are incompetent, rude, thieves. Don't be a fool like me and keep them going. They joined the Revdex.com in 1995 and they have an "F" with 30 negative reviews and 2 positive. So, I guess that shows that a fool and his money are soon to part. Me included.

I own this restaurant. We have a commercial dishwasher Jackson ware XL. Dishwasher started a problem by not running a complete cycle, running one cycle and stopping or just keep running and because its a commercial dishwasher, regular repairman can't fix it so my wife looked up this company information online to find out who does the job in San Francisco. We found out the number of reliable appliance services and called them. A repairman by the name *** called and said he will be coming and there is a charge of $ 89.95 and if we decide to fix it they will include that amount in the repair. We okay the call and he came on feb 5th diagnosed the problem and said that timer needs to be replaced. Gave us the price of $1100. we decided to fix it and made a second appointment for repair. *** came for 2nd appointment to repair. He repaired it and left.
2nd day machine start acting up again with the same issues. I called the company at 1800-767-4040 and mentioned that problem. They send *** again he checked and was unable to fix it and he told me he will find out and let me know but since then I have not heard from him or the company. I made several appointments but no one is showing up or taking responsibility. They have already charged my card but my problem is worsening. I need my money back so I can call someone else. Its a small business I cant afford to pay that much again.
*** is the main person in San Francisco. His cell is 510-342-***. please help

Our technician has been attempting to connect with you regarding the repairs, and has left several messages with receptionist, which were never returned.

Please advise of best time to call you.

Eugene has my cell number. Before this repair he communicated with me thru text messages. My approval for his repair was granted through text. I have the proof in my cell. I have called 3 times to there main head office requesting the follow up appointment but was never taken seriously.

On 1/3/18 I called Reliable to fix my "Dacor" microwave. I was told service fee is $69.99 and it will be waived if I decided to go with their repair estimate, which I agreed to. Some guy showed up on 1/3 and advised that a latch has to be replaced (that was MY diagnosis over the phone but they did not wan to take it). He said he will order the part and come back in 2 weeks to replace and at that time I"ll be responsible to pay the part cost, which I agreed to. He collected the $69.99 and left. No call was received in the following 3 weeks so I called myself. I was told they are still trying to order the part and that they would call me in a week. No call is received still so I called again and I was promised that a tech will call me right back. No call received in a week so I called for the third time. I got the same answer and the same promise. Another week goes by and no call is received so I called yesterday asking to cancel my request and get refunded the $69.99. I was advised to email my request which I did. The owner "Peter" called this AM stating that he's unable to locate the part. At that time I asked for a refund of my money I paid. He refused stating it wasn't his fault. My understanding is that the only time I lose service fee is when I decline the repair. I fully consented to all associated costs throughout the process.. The onus is on him to fix it now. If he wouldn't send someone to my home for free (that's what he said), me as a consumer I'm not supposed to pay him $ for free (no repair rendered).

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Feb 26, 2018

The service call fee is a trip charge for estimate and diagnosis. Part availability is a factor beyond our control as we only repair appliances -not manufacture parts.

There’s nothing further from truth in this reply. Service charge is just not for diagnosis Abd repair estimate. First off diagnosis does not require a visit. The door simply wound not pop open. Secondly repair estimate is part of the bigger picture which is fixing it. I wouldn’t pay some one $70 to tell me your microwave door doesn’t open and you need a new latch, which price I can locate on line. His job was to fix the problem. If he can’t for whatever reason whether it’s beyond his control or it isn’t that’s not my liability. It’s simply his, especially I agreed on all of the contract terms his tech presented to me.

I densnd a full refund of service charge I paid and got nothing in return

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Feb 28, 2018

Our protocols have been the same for over 25 years: We need to send technician to provide an estimate and diagnosis hence the service call fee.

Repair man came out to check our double oven, spent about 10 minutes and told us the brain was dead. Wanted 300.00 deposit 11 days later called us to tell us the part was not available so we would have to buy a new oven. I called company and a representative assured me there would no be no service charge. Later that day I noticed they had used my card for the 69.99 service charge. I called back and was told they would have a manager contact me. Four days later I received a call from a male who insisted that the charge was correct and that the representative who told told me there was not going to be a charge did not have the power to say what she tod me. I will never use this company again they never left me paperwork and really did nothing.

had a repairman from reliable appliance come to my condo to diagnose why my refrigerator stopped operating.
this was on 19 Jan. 2018.. I was away on a trip but my brother and his wife were here at the time and dealt with the problem..
according to my sisterinlaw ***, the repairman whose name is ***, pulled the refrig a little away from the wall, without
going behind it, to remove a panel, to look inside, he determined that it was a broken compressor and that it would cost
$1200 to repair.. because I have appliance insurance and would not be home until the 13th of Feb. I told *** to not do
anything and I will deal with it when I get back..she paid him $69.95 with her credit card.
When I returned I decided to have a different repair company do a diagnosis..
Unlike ***, their serviceman removed the back panel and found that it was not a compressor problem, but rather
a control board that would cost around $500 to replace..
So far, reliable appliance is making it very difficult and I have yet, after 4 days, to speak to the proper person, to at least
get ***'s money refunded, for what I feel, was a fraudulent service call and attempt to charge for a compressor I did not need..
I believe some action must be taken, to prevent this company from being allowed to do this type of a non-inspection, yet
charge myself and other customers, for a misdiagnosis.. At the very least, they should have to refund the service charge

Reliable appliance came out to look at a burner not working on my stove. Repair man barely looked at the stove then told me it would be $325 to fix burner on $600 stove. He described some part that wasn't even on my stove and said the part cost $180. The part was a $50 part and I told him that. All it was was a ignitor assembly. He denied this and said I owed him $69.95 for the service call. I paid him just to get him out of my house and then called Reliable to complain. They told me they would send someone else out at no charge but never did.
All this company does is send someone out to collect $70 service charges then go on to the next house. Looked on Yelp and found hundreds of reviews complaining about the same problem. These people are frauds and need to be put out of business. They have no intention of fixing your appliance. The guy they sent me (***) had no idea of what he was talking about. Went to the address on the receipt and they were closed. Just a little hole in the wall office with a few messy desks with no sign out front saying who they are.

The company says to send a written request to their office for a service call refund of $69.95. Based on the reviews I have read on Yelp, I doubt this will do any good. But I will abide by their request for written request and see what exactly happens. Please do not close out this complaint til I hear from Reliable Services.

Duly noted.

12/28/2017, I called re: a leak in my refrigerator and a failed icemaker. Technician arrived and discussed the problems I'd described over the phone. He said it was due to a bad “invertor” and the condenser coil needed to be cleaned. Estimate, $774. I asked repeatedly, “Is this all the work that needs to be done? Will this fix both problems?” His answer, Yes. I could call other companies for estimates, pay $90 for his visit (then be charged for other companies estimates). He told of all his years experience and he has seen this many times and he can fix the problem. I said if this was going to cost over $1000 I would rather buy a new refrigerator. He said, again, this will fix the problem and all Reliable work is under warranty. I agreed to his price. He replaced invertor, cleaned condenser coil. I asked about icemaker. He said it would take hours to start making ice again. I paid, I signed. He had an icemaker in his truck. It looked different so I told him I would look to see if I could find one specific to my model. He said if I bought it, he would install it for me no additional charge. I found my replacement part and paid $102.05. (Reliable was going to charge me double for their part.) (Now I was up to $876.05.) I called other repair companies to check quotes on the job I just paid for. (5-Star rated) *** quoted $595, P *** quoted $350. The icemaker arrived, I texted the tech to return, finish his installation. He texted back telling me to install it myself. I replied that I had paid for his promise to fix and I had bought a new icemaker on his recommendation and that I was not happy paying $900 to fix my own problems. He returned to install the icemaker. I showed him the refrigerator still leaked, told him he had said that the leaks were due to the old invertor. He inspected further and found that the “drip pan” in the refrigerator had leaks. He patched the leaks.Today is Jan 25th, 2018. My refrigerator still leaks.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Jan 30, 2018

Once again, do you see any labor charges pertaining to installation of the ice maker on your invoice? No you do not because it was done as a courtesy. Our technician literally took the drip pan out to demonstrate the corrosion. We will not send another technician to your residence to advise of the same issue, as per our telephone conversation.

The company’s response is unacceptable as it is misleading. It mentions other work performed but does not address my primary complaint that they charged me nearly $800 and never fixed the problem. How is this even considered a proper response?I will not let this drop.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Feb 07, 2018

The original issue was repaired and there was nothing misleading about our response.

Eddie is the technician that came, to fix the bad gasket in my Maytag freezer section. he ordered a new one, installed it, and where there was still a gap, fastened it with tape, and said to call in 6 weeks if it wasn't fixed. called and he came out and blew hot air on it and said that would take care of it. next two calls were never returned and I found someone else to repair it, the repairman found that water had built up behind the paneling and was frozen sold. he did repair after everything was dry, and it works fine. I went to company after my written letter was ignored, and Peter, the manager,as much as told me my word against his, and sided with his tech. I am out $291., which he refuses to consider refunding. I wish I had read the Revdex.com reviews before I called them for service.

Reliable Appliance Service came to repair my washing machine. They gave me an estimate that I accepted, and said they would come the next day, applying the $69.95 to the estimate when they fixed it. When I called the next day, I was given a window of 11-2 for the repair call. No one came in that window. I then contacted the serviceman, who said he would come from 4:30-5:30. He still did not come. When I contacted him again, he said he would come between 8-9 at night. He then called at 9:12 to say he was half an hour away. This was too late for a repair. He then told me he would come the next day at 10:30. Again, he never came and won't answer calls. I have called the company many times, and have been told a supervizor "***" will call me back, but he never has.

At this point, it looks like a scam to collect the "service fee".

"Oleg" serviced my gas dryer on December 8th. He replaced the drum belt and rollers. When I saw he was putting the front cover back on, I asked to look inside before he finished, but he said he was late for his next appointment and was in a hurry, so went ahead and closed it up. After he left, I took the cover back off, and immediately noted he had installed the belt with a full 360-degree twist in it. This was in late morning -- but after I called the office and then told him the problem, he didn't come back until about 4:00 PM. Now, today, December 15th, my wife tried to use the dryer for the first time, but clothes weren't drying. Probably because he had turned off the gas valve, and never turned it back on! Hurry, hurry, hurry!

On Nov. 27, Reliable Appliance repair came to my home to repair my dishwasher. They advised me that the control panel was out and needed to be repaired. Stated it would be $526. To call them back once I decided what to do with a credit card number to order the part. I reached out to them again beginning on Wednesday, 11/29/2017 and asked them to take my credit card number and order the part. I contacted them almost every day last week, and have called every day this week as well. Speaking with a employee named ***, then ***, *** and ***. All of which would never let me speak with their superior ( *** ). I was always told that the area manager would call me back today or within the hour. As of now, Dec 12th at 4:30 pm NO ONE HAS EVER called me! Finally today I was told another story by ***. She told me on the phone this afternoon " you never called to tell us what you wanted to do". This place of business has collected $70 service fee from me and has failed to perform as requested. The dishwasher has been broken and not working properly and they have failed to return a call or take my information to order the part or refund me the $70 which they charged me on 11/27

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Reliable Appliance Service Response

We tried to call you, but the number provided does not appear to be in service. We were able to confirm the part is available and can be delivered from the manufacturer within seven to ten business days. However, in order to set things in motion, we need to obtain a deposit for the part order. Please contact us to arrange: ***.***@reliableserviceco.com

Technician came out to diagnose a problem with my 2 burners not working. He told me that problem was caused by the short circuit spark control board. He would have to order the part. I paid him for the service call which would be deducted from the total bill once the part arrives. It has been almost a month and I had not heard from technician or company. I called several times to inquire about the status of the part, but I received no information. I feel that if the problem can't be fixed, then I would not have to pay for the service call.

Our realtor recommended them to fix our refrigerator when it failed in our absence, this summer. They replaced the mother board at a cost of $2,300. The refrigerator failed again about 90 days later. They came and defrosted it for another $300. A few days later it failed yet again. They said it needed a new mother board yet again.
They never returned, the refrigerator doesn't work, and we are out the $2,600. We have purchased a new refrigerator

On 11/17/17, I had this company come to my home to see why the self-cleaning device on my oven caused my oven to shut down and keep the door locked. Within 10/15 minutes of the serviceman's arrival, he told me I "fried" the main control board and he said he would have to take the board with him if I wanted a $50 discount with repairs. He said I either agreed to this and the repairs or pay him a service charge of $69.99. Not understanding the reason he had to take the part with him before getting a replacement and what the warranty details were, when I called him on his cellphone after he left, he became very hostile and ranted about the time he had spent at my home. Unsatisfied, I contacted the company the next morning to speak to a manager.. I was told someone would call me back. He did not. On 11/20/17, I called again to speak to a manager and then I received a call from a very angry supervisor. He said he had spoken to the serviceman and they had already cancelled my order because they didn't want the job. He said they would be returning my parts and my money that day and that I should go somewhere else. As of this date 11/22/17, I do not have my oven parts nor my payment (a check) back and no one will call me back even though I have left messages with office personnel for the District Manager to call..

On November 19, 2017 around 12:30 pm Sunday a service technician for Reliable Appliance by the name of Bill inspected my freezer which was not working and said it need to run 24 hours to get diagnosed. Bill said it might be coil, freon or compressor and will costs $300-$400 to repair and he will come Monday November 20, 2017 between 4-7 pm to check what really the problem why freezer not getting cold. I wrote Bill a check to Reliable Appliance for $69.95 and receipt # ***. Next day come Monday at around 6:50 pm did not hear from Bill called his # and ask him you are supposed to come and check the freezer and his response I forgot and he will call me back in 15 minutes and so I waited for his call and no call from him (Bill), So then l call the # again at 7:31 pm and call the # again at 7:41 pm it goes to voice recording and left a voice message that I will complain to his supervisor and or manager. I call the office and Susie answer if I can talk to Supervisor or Manager and said they will call me and I ask if my complain is being recorded and she said yes.
Until now I never get a call from Reliable Appliance and the check still not deposit.

RIP OF! The serviceman (oh sure) came out looked at the oven. I had already explained it is a Vintage Wedgewood Holley. He stood up and said "no no parts available too old, $69.95". WOW WOW So I thought hmmm he already knew there were no parts but still came out to collect his $69.95. Plus after he left, we realized he LEFT THE OVEN ON!!!!! Dangerous. So now I am calling demanding my $69.95 and no manager can be reached until MONDAY> What? Today is Friday. Also, I just called a Vintage Parts House and they said it is the thermostat and they have them!!! NOT Revdex.com and many negative comments. Report them again

This company offers free estimates if you except the repair cost for your appliance. If you don’t except the cost for repair they charge you 69.00 for checking out the problem. In this case the repair person was unable to check out what was wrong with the item due to the age/corrode of the appliance. So I was never given an reason for the appliance not working. He told me he couldn’t tell me what was wrong in order to fix it. The company wants me to pay the 69.00 anyway even tho no service was provided do to their employee was able to do any evaluation.

Reliable Appliance Service Response

$69.95 is our trip charge. When you called to schedule the appointment, you were advised of the fee in the event of no repairs being performed. The appliance was not repairable. You've issued a check and then placed a stop payment. Strongly urge you to bring your account up to date as the time frame on the letter is running out.

Customer Response

First I never wrote a check therefore I didn’t cancel a check. I didn’t agree to pAy a show up fee. I agreed to pay a fee if the estimate I was given was something I didn’t want to pay or the estimate fee would be waived if I wanted them to do the work. They didn’t give me an estimate because the tech couldn’t get to the problem with the tools he brought with him.

Reliable Appliance Service Response

Your appliance was unrepairable. Appointment was scheduled to assess the appliance itself and determine if a feasible resolution exists.
