After diagnosing a refrigerator problem, two parts were ordered and replaced.
(the parts on internet cost was approx. $260.00)
Tech did not itemized labor and materials. Total bill was over One Thousand Dollars.
Tech offered to take a reduced cash payment directly to him and bypass the company.
Very shady operation!! Best to stay away from this company. After discussion, the manager,
Peter Y, did renegotiate the bill to $650.00. The tech has made follow-up calls which we have
refused to answer. Very intimidating...

I hired Reliable Appliance to fix my refrigerator. Was told that it was the mother board and the whole job would cost about $350.00 including part and installation. I paid Alex $100.00 deposit. Alex returned with a new mother board and installed it. I then game Alex $248.00 more. However the next morning the refrigerator was not cold. I then called Reliable and they sent some one named Tony, I was not home but my roommate was. Tony implied that the mother board was not working properly and ordered another one. Alex returned to install the new one and to my surprise the next morning the refrigerator still was not cold. Alex returned and retrieved that mother board and insured me that I would get a refund in a few days. I did get a check for $30.05, not my $348.00 as promised. I went out and bought a new refrigerator from Sears depending on the refund to apply it to the balance owed on the new refrigerator. The receipt No is *** I requested that Alex write on the receipt "to refund"

Thank you for contacting us. We have a record of your phone call to us yesterday. The invoice we have on file reflects a payments of the deposit in the amount of $100.00. A full refund for the deposit has been processed. However, when my representative requested your copy of the invoice for review, you've disconnected the call. Please send us your copy for review. Rest assured we will resolve this matter.

Had them install heater on 1/15/2019 . A few weeks ago on 3/3/2019 had roofer come out to fix leak. when he went in attic ,He noticed heater vent pipe was not connected to roof vent pipe So I called reliable .Receptionist knew how to lie. Because she says ,I'll pass it on to GM. Been about 2 weeks haven't heard anything from them

Nothing Reliable about this VERY SHADY company! They should be out of business! They also have horrible *** reviews.
I had the same exact experience as everyone else! They missed several schedule appointments and then came out charged me $70 for a 10 minute visit and told me I needed to buy a new dishwasher because it was too expensive to fix. Fortunately I had an extended warranty and was going to be reimbursed by the warranty company so I told them to proceed with the repair. Weeks of calling, no return phone call and then they ordered the part, came to house, spent 90 minutes with the dishwasher and couldn't fix it!! What a joke! They are very unprofessional. Fortunately I stopped payment on my check for the service call so I never paid them a penny.
There is no reason why anyone should do business with this company.

This company is horrible. I contacted them for a dryer that wasn't heating. $69.99 the tech will come and diagnose, but will waive fee if repair is done. The tech shows up removes my lint filter from the top of my dryer, then tells my husband the igniter needs replaced for $265. When I asked how he determined the igniter was the issue. The tech said "look I'm running late for other appointments. I've been repairing dryers for 12 years if it's not heating the igniter isn't working." I told him previously when my dryer stopped heating, the repair tech replaced the heat solenoid. I asked how he could determine without even taking the back panel off to check this. His response "you can pay me $69.99 and I'll leave or do you want the repair." I threw him out, and received the same response from their service department. I could pay $69.99 or they would send it to collections!!! He didn't diagnose anything. People don't get scammed by this company.

NOT reliable - unfortunately they did not live up to their name. After 4 months (Aug 31- Jan 2) of texts/phone calls and being told that they were searching for the parts to fix my oven, I finally had to call it quits. When I asked for my money back (they required a deposit up front), Steve, the technician told me that he would let Peter in accounting know and to expect a check in 1-2 weeks.
After three weeks with no refund check, I called the office inquiring about the status of my refund: I was told there was no record of it and had I spoken to a manager. Why would I speak to a manager after Steve informed me he was going to take care of it with Peter in accounting?!?! After several attempts to reach Peter, he has not returned my calls.
They took my deposit but kept my money with absolutely NO services rendered. This is an unethical business.

January 4th. a tech from Reliable named Nate came to our residence to figure out what was wrong with our central heater as there was no heat coming out. Nate gave us an invoice which states it needs a new gas valve assembly which will cost $1450 as its an all day job. When I have asked other business in the heating industry they indicated it was not an all day job. Two phone quotes were given $750 - $850 if that was the problem lowest quote was $300. A tech came out today & the problem was a pressure switch which took less than 45 minutes to fix & a total cost of $260. How many other people do they have to take advantage of before something is done to correct this practice. We need our heater but $1450 sounded way too high. We want the $69.95 given back as this is a unscrupulous company.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Jan 08, 2019

The service call fee you've paid was for an estimate and diagnosis, which you have received. We can not be held responsible for pricing of our competitors. For other inquiries, please refer to the back of your invoice.

Reliable Appliance Service Response • Jan 17, 2019

We are not responsible for pricing found elsewhere. The $69.95 you've paid was a trip charge, which can not be refunded.

Customer Response • Jan 29, 2019

the company Reliable is not responding to the problem. I do not dispute them charging for their time. I dispute being charged for an incorrect diagnosis. The technician obviously did not know what he was doing as our heater now works thanks to someone who knew what they were doing & replaced the part that was not working which was not the gas valve assembly as the Reliable tech diagnosed it to be.

Send us an invoice from a licensed HVAC provider for review. Make sure the invoice is in compliance with Business and Professions Code. Written statement and a wiring diagram are insufficient. Once we receive your paperwork, we will gladly review it and follow up with you regarding our decision.

They are advertised online as a 24/7 repair service. I had some alarming sounds coming from my refrigerator. I called, and they sent a tech on 21 Dec. After a cursory glance, he said I needed a certain part, which they would order and install. I was charged $69 for the visit, which would be part of the final labor charge. I spoke with the tech on the 24th, who said that, given the holiday schedule, it would be a week before I'd be serviced. I have since then called numerous times, both the tech's direct number and his dispatcher/manager/supervisor and have never again received a call back. I have subsequently reported the initial visit fee as a fraudulent charge on my card. These people are completely unprofessional. They should not be allowed to operate.

They said they repaired my refrigerator which was heating warm. I asked the technician if it was my compressor. He said no that was fine. Result of his repair was more damage to refrigerator and burned out my compressor. I hired another company and was told that the original part was wrong and the wiring was wrong therefore my compressor broke and they said can't repair at all due to the bad wiring. Probably unrepairable now. I have attempted to discuss with them but they refuse to. They said they would refund original cost but that does not address the now broken fridge due to their inadequate repair. Still haven't received a refund and manager peter will not call back. I now have to buy a refrigerator that I cannot afford as we are living on social security which is minimal. Please help

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

They came out fixed the washer and wanted cash only. When told that their ad says checks are ok HE BROKE THE WASHER when all he did initially was remove a battery from the drain. He also BROKE the DRUM. The company we called to fix after the drastic damage said they frequently do this and brag about the stupidity of their customers. I called Seven times. (They are calling me back from Two weeks ago). They are not. When I said I was filing with Revdex.com they said go ahead we don’t care. But there ad says A+ but they are F and not part of Revdex.com.
Do Not use.

12/22/18. Called for frisge repair. Larry comes, tinkers for about 45 mins. Has me clean a few things. After NOT giving me an estimate, charged me $325.00 for cleaning coils. We even used my vacuum once. Coils were condenser and evaporation. Cleaned drain. No parts replaced. The guy barely said hi to me. My partner left midway. So I was alone with this rather large and frankly intimidating man, so I gave him the check. I called a half hr after and reception said I’d get a call by next day. 12/23. No call. I called them twice 12/23. . Second time I asked who the supervisor’s supervisor was. They said he’s back on 12/26. I called on 12/26. Days he, Peter York wasn’t free and told me to wait another 24 hrs. It’s 12/27. I called four times with promised of a return call. I said I’d stop check payment if I didn’t hear by 3pm today. I got no return call. Internet research tells me $150 is more like what I should pay. However. My time is wasted so I now feel I owe nothing or, just thecservice charge of $69. Aldo. I asked for a price list after in my first call. Nothing was offered. Please help me as I feel stuck, frustrated and confused. Thanks!

The instructions on the back of your receipt say that if dispatch cannot resolve” please describe the problem and what can be done to satisfy dispute.” I have done this four times. You say the calls are recorded so therefore you should have reports of mI have done this four times. You say the calls are recorded so therefore you should have reports of my four calls to your dispatch office. There is an address listed At the bottom of the receipt. Therefore since it seems after four phone calls with zero response from your company, I cannot have customer service resolve my dispute infurnalky. it looks as if I must write a letter to three 324 cOOGAN Way Is this correct? The only other resource is the contractors board but this was not construction. Would you please route me to the appropriate place to resolve my concerns? Coofan way or contractors board? I am not refusing to pay, However I simply believed I was overcharged and again I did not receive any estimate oral or written. Nothing. How could I know what was going to be charged when no one told me upfront. I would have refused service and happily paid the service fee. Let’s resolve this right away. Thank you.

These people at RELIABLE APPLIANCE did not want to fix my washer machine. They complain about ,me buying a Korean machine. They gave me excuses about the delay in time for part to arrive. They were real unprofessional .They took my check for their service of $69.95 without any cure for my washer. He gave me his cell number to let him know what model #it is.text him a few times to arrive at a solution an no answer. Contacted main office a couple of times as well. They did not want to send me a new TECHNITION to let me know what is going on to repair my washer. Informed me this guy would call me back.I`m still waiting with no washer and check # 716 in his hands. They just want to collect the service fees.

We first used this outfit for a refrigerator that had been in storage for a few months and seemed not to be cooling properly. The logical solution might have been simply to recharge the coolant, but the technician, "Viktor," assured us that he would have to test both the coolant pressure and the compressor, but that it would take many hundreds of dollars more than the cost of the refrigerator itself, and wouldn't be worth it. His verdict: buy a new one, and thanks very much for your $70 service fee. After buying a new fridge, we encountered a problem with our washing machine, which started displaying an error code after prematurely halting in mid-cycle, doing so every time we tried to run a load. And who should come to the door to fix it? You guessed it: "Viktor." He played with the spin cycle in unloaded state, asserted that everything was fine, and left again with our $70 service fee, saying that nothing was wrong with the machine. As soon as he left, we loaded the machine, and, surprise surprise, the error code immediately came up again, and on every attempt thereafter. Repeated calls to the cr resulted only in unfulfilled promises that "Viktor" would be contacted on our behalf and would call us shortly. We are left wondering whether this is nothing more than a neighborhood scam that operates entirely on collecting $70 service fees for phony appliance diagnostics.

On 9/19/18 we contacted Reliable Appliance to Repair our gas dryer because it would not heat up.
Reliable Appliance advertises that they charge $69 per house call and they will give you $25 off of that. They also claim that if you have repairs done they will waive the $69 charge.
Their very young tech Nick was dispatched to our home within a couple of hours. Nick reached behind the dryer and pushed the reset button. He was at our home for less than 30 minutes and charged us $120. He said that if that did not fix the issue we would have to replace the thermostat. Within an hour of Nick leaving the same issue returned. The next day I called and rescheduled Nick to come back to "fix" our dryer. A couple of days later Nick came to our home, reached behind the dryer pushed the reset button again. Nick then walked around to the side of our home put his hand under the vent belonging to water heater and said that there was lint blocking the airflow and we would have to call a plumber and the plumber would have to knock a hole in our wall to clean out the vent! I immediately called Reliance Appliance to request a different technician because it was very obvious that Nick did not know what he was doing. They refused so I asked for a refund because Nick not only could not fix the dryer he as unable to diagnose the issue correctly. Then the real run around began. I was told I had to talk to Vince (no last name!)I was told Vince would contact me. After many attempts I finally got to speak with Vince.I talked to him about not fixing the dryer and the price. His replied "We charge $69.95 just to say hi" and I had to talk to Tony (again no last name). Vince said he would personally have Tony call me. Of course Tony never called me. After many attempts I finally got to speak with Tony only to be told that I would have to talk to Peter York! Tony said that Peter York would call me on 12/11/18 between 9 & 10am. Not only has Peter not called me no one knows when or if he will call me

TOTALLY *** this company TOTALLY ripped us off was quoted a 69.00 service call for coming out how ever if they were to fix the WASHING MACHINE that fee was to be waived technician only asked where the machine was starting taking it apart was here for 17 minutes NO PARTS WERE USED OR NEEDED AND BILLED ME A 145 DOLLARS THEN TELLS ME HE GAVE ME A 20 DOLLAR DISCOUNT RELIABLE APPLIANCE SERVICE ARE THIEVES WHO PRAYED ON A SENIOR CITIZEN ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS CAN'T MAKE SENSE OF THE BILL AND THE WORKER DIDN'T SPEAK UNDERSTANDABLE ENGLISH

This company was not reliable at all!!! They set a service day and time and was a no call no show. Then they set another day and time and arrived charging a non-refundable $70 to just look at our dishwasher. Fees not applied to any future labor. They then wrote us a fix it ticket with $400 in parts and $200 in labor. We of course refused. Lastly they suggested we go and purchase the same dishwasher only to turn around and return it with the faulty dishwasher without Best Buy’s acknowledgement. Horrible service and Horrible prices!!! Not a place I would ever recommend anyone to bring to their home.

This company is in the business of collecting a service fee and then never making good on even attempting to make a repair. I tried multiple times to get some response from them but I just continued to be put off. I requested a refund on the "Service Visit" charge because there would be know way to apply that amount to a repair that they do not intend to do. I was told that no one in the office a 3PM could do a refund. Impossible to believe they can do business without a person in the office to handle these situations. I am required to give at least one star to submit my review. They do not deserve it. I wished I checked Revdex.com first.

Beware of this shady company! I thought I left my review on Yelp back in the beginning of April 2018 but I guess it was the Revdex.com that I reported them to. I had them come out to our business to fix a noise on our washing machine. When the Tech left $299 and 69.95 for service call later the machine was totally broken. My Husband called the Tech to come back and he diagnosed the problem over the phone and wanted to further charge us 499 more. and it would be another week. We own a salon and need our washer. It was working fine except for noise before Tech came and tore it apart to put belt and pulley in.
these are very inexpensive parts.
We ended up having to go to Sears to buy a new washer.
I called Reliable to complain and remind them of there 100% satisfaction guarantee that they have on there Site. He just blew me off. So I called my Bank told them the story and they recommend for me to cancel my credit card which I did. As the charge had not gone through yet.
and of course they said to report them to Revdex.com and I did.
Now Today after 6 months I have received a letter from them that they are attempting to collect payment. and if I don't pay in 10 days they will send to collection agency.
This Company should not be allowed to do business.

We had a bought and had these guys install brand new central air for us a year ago. We noticed the filter was wet so we called them.Technician came in and told us it would cost 2100 for the repair. He told me that it happens to everyone. What? So you mean to tell me that every year people pay 2100 dollars for their air-conditioner? I brought up that we had just bought this from them last year and he said that this was like when you buy a brand new car and it breaks down after a year. What the heck kinda brand new car breaks down after a year? Wouldnt that car be considered defective? A lemon car? Did you sell us lemon air-conditioning? I asked him how we could prevent it from happening again and he had no answers. He was seriously telling us that every year people pay 2100 to fix their air conditioner. I never got that memo. Just a quick Google search says that the life span of central air conditioning is 12 to 15 years and it's only been a year since we got this from them. The level of bt was just annoying I told him to leave. He also charged me 70 dollars for the service fee. Pretty much I paid him to hear bt coming out if his mouth.
