I was very happy with this service call. We called Thursday June 7 around 215 . We heard back and set up a time for Friday June 8th between the hours of 8-12. They were here around 8:10. You guys rock. Thank you so much .

We had our HVAC system inspected today by Chris from Reliance Home Comfort (not one of their sub-contractors) so as to determine weather we repair or replace it. He was EXCELLENT!!! He told us exactly what was wrong, the cost to repair it and the life expectancy of the repair so as to help us determine if the cost-benefit would be worth it (it wouldn't which we thought would be the case). He additionally provided us with a lot of technical advice so as to enable us to improve/upgrade our system with value-for-the-dollar mindedness. Safe to say he earned a great deal of respect and confidence from us. Hopefully Reliace Home Comfort will be able to earn the same from us and meet/match/beat some quotes that we recently and are still receiving for our new system. Thank you. Paul.

This review is about my Barrie Reliance customer service rep, Kris B. and I'd like to warn other customers to request a different rep if they want to deal with Reliance. After I purchased a top of the line furnace & air conditioner from him, I was never able to get follow up service from him. He obviously made a substantial commission on me and once the appropriate paperwork was signed he refused to respond to emails & texts I sent him about problems with my account. I'd even have been happy if he's sent an email saying he couldn't help & advising me to call another department, but he couldn't even give me the courtesy of doing that. It's like he has fallen off the face of the earth. It's too bad they have a representative like this as I have received excellent, courteous service from the installers and any other other departments I've dealt with at Reliance. I would recommend the company but NOT Kris B..

I signed a rent to own agreement with the company Reliance purchased last year. The air conditioner was only partially installed, never completed. When I have made 10 phone calls to Reliance asking them to honor the contract I have with them. Every time I get apologizes and a promise that I will have someone call me. No one has. They have no problem taking the rent for the AC unit, but have not provided the sercvice they are in contract with me in. This is breech of contract in anyones books. Not pleased AT ALL.

My A.C. was not working this morning I call reliance 9 am they look into the problem by 10 am reliance was right in front of my know I was like wow. I appreciate it. problem solved thank you so much

Our water heater broke down about a month ago and we had a Reliance service technician out to fix it. He was great and the water heater started working fine again for a couple of weeks.
Recently it's been on the fritz and sometimes the hot water will stop working for a few hours or a whole day. This time we were without hot water for almost a week. I called to make an appointment a few days ago and had it scheduled for this evening. 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, a service tech called to say he won't be coming and to call the office to make a new appointment.
I called the office again to set up another appointment and they were unable to find any record or a service person coming out last month, they were unable to tell whether the water heater was rented, owned, or under warranty (we rent the house so I wasn't sure but felt like that's something they should have on file), and to top it all off they informed me they wouldn't be able to send anyone out to do the repair for another 3 days.
Their website states they offer FAST service for issues like this but apparently that isn't the case. Having a service person cancel last minute and having to wait another 3 days before anyone can come out is not what I would call fast, reliable service.

I purchased new home, through *** home, moved in Feb 28th, then I found out my first month water rental rate is very expensive. I called in asked what's the reason, have to waiting over 30 mins on the phone, just called again today to request to cancel the service since *** water tank is only $800~$1000. then I was told I'm in the 7 years term there is no option to cancel it, only buy out option is $3560+hst!!!it's scam! if there is a contract does not state what the total payments will be over the term (rates varying year to year)
The contract was never signed or otherwise legally acknowledged by you .
it's againt Consumer protection law in Ontario. please cancel my service

On Thursday May 10th I called Reliance Home Comfort to arrange an appointment to have my furnace checked as it was not turning on properly. On Sunday May 13th a Repairman named *** come to my house to fix the furnace I was without since Thursday. I explained to *** that the furnace would not stay running. He told me he knew what the problem was and he fixed 3 already that day. He took out a sensor and cleaned it and the furnace turned on. He was texting which he did for most of the visit. Every time I tried to talk to him he was texting someone. As he was texting, the furnace turned off. He mentioned I had other issues and he was going to investigate. I suggested the reason it went off was because the temperature had reached what the thermostat was set at. He continued texting and ignored me. This was very frustrating.
I went upstairs to mention to my wife what *** told me. 10 minutes later I come downstairs to see how he was making out. There was no ***. I checked his truck, the back yard and other rooms in my house he was not to be found. He suddenly entered through the front door. He told me three times, he wanted to send someone out to sell me a new furnace. I declined. I was very uncomfortable with this situation. He then proceeded to advise me that I have a cracked heat exchange and carbon monoxide is reading at 850 ppm coming out of the vent outside. I have a double lock on both gates he could not have gotten through to check outside. When I refused to have a salesperson come out he told me he has to shut the furnace off. I questioned him and he said because of the cracked heat exchange and the carbon is dangerous. I requested to see the tester. He only let me glance at it and I saw a reading of 1 on it. He turned my gas off and the power to the furnace. I said like hell you are and turned it back on because I caught him in 2 lies. My carbon monoxide detector 4 feet away from the furnace works fine, it did not go off. *** went out and filled out a noncompliance form. I was in my foyer saying goodbye to my nephew when *** handed me the form, leaned in and said "good luck to your family". To me that was a threat and I do take it very serious. My nephew looked at me in shock when he said that to me and asked me what the hell was that all about.
I contacted a reliable company called *** and had them test inside for monoxide. The test came back with a reading of 0 ppm. They checked the heat exchange and found no cracks. They went to the back of the house and checked the vent which read 13 not 850 ppm as *** told me. I was still uncomfortable so the gentleman at *** Mechanical called another service person who did a very thorough check. Finding there was 13ppm in the back vent and 0 in the furnace. He told me my furnace was running at 97.5% efficiency
I called Reliance back and talked to a girl there and told her the results. They wanted to send another person out to do another check. I was very hesitant but finally said ok. I made sure I was there 100% of the time. This time *** showed up and did another thorough check. His findings were the same as *** Mechanical.
I spoke with someone at Reliance and a manager was to call me, and never did. They must think what they did is O.K. With the noncompliance they turn your gas off within 45 days. So now I am left puzzled as to what is happening with Reliance resolving this issue.

Desired Outcome

Prior to Reliance looking at my hot water tank I had someone else look at it and said it could be fixed. Because I had the insurance with reliance I called them and they told me it could not be fixed. I wanted to won it however they talked me into leasing it which I did. I am now second guessing if it really was no good after someone told me it can be fixed.I want that lease to end also I want to cancel my insurance plan.

I have an email stating *** credited my account. I have told them I no longer want an account. I feel my water tank was put in under false pretenses. I feel for what I have gone through a total refund of the money I sent ***. not a credit. Also to write my hot water tank off. and end the contract.
