Retrieval-Masters Creditors Bureau, Inc Reviews (109)

Review: I was sent a notice stating that the New Jersey E-ZPass had sent me notices for an outstanding violation, which is not true. I never received a notice for any outstanding violations nor did I miss paying a toll on Jun **, 2014 because I don't have E-ZPass, so I wouldn't go through an E-ZPass, unless it wasn't like a typical toll with a booth. Also, I talked to The New Jersey Turnpike Authority by email who stated I could pay the $1.50 toll price by phone. Even though, New Jersey Turnpike Authority never sent me any proof of this violation on [redacted]. Now my credit is ruined over a $1.50 charge that I didn't even know about.

Retrieval-Masters phone representative said she couldn't help me, then hung up on me when I told her I didn't know about this "violation".Desired Settlement: I want taken off their list, and my credit report history untouched. I want them to take off any mark they made on my credit. I want this agency to stop harassing me with allegations that I didn't even know about. I want an apology as well.

Sincerely,

Review: AMCA (A.K.A. Retrieval Masters Creditors Bureau Inc) began contacting me regarding a debt from Quest Diagnostics. I have disputed the validity of this debt with a debt validation letter to no response. Even my disputes over the phone have been ignored. This debt is not valid; and AMCA refuses to investigate and follow the law. They are also in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices act by reporting a disputed debt to the three major credit bureaus, and are in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act by reporting the collection entries as a new entry each reporting period. There are two disputed accounts: [redacted]; and [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like for AMCA (A.K.A. Retrieval Masters Creditors Bureau Inc) to cease contact with me, and to stop reporting the unlawful and damaging information to my credit files.

Response:

Please be advised of the following as it pertains to consumer complaint. our client the original holder of the debt placed the two mentioned accounts with our agency to recover balances due for lab services provided by our client on 8/**/2013 & 9/**/2013 both ordered by [redacted]. both accounts have been placed on hold, lab requisitions and health insurance claim forms/itemized statements have been requested from our client. A removal from the credit bureaus (two) has been made during this process. confirmation numbers [redacted] &[redacted]. Our offices have not received any written request for verification of the debt prior to this complaint. Nor have we received a dispute. Only a request to not call on 2/**/2014 the phone number was removed from our calling list on that date.

Review: I have received several phone calls from ###-###-####. Sometimes more then twice a day. No one ever leaves a message.

Today I called this number and a message played saying that it is AMCA. Then hold music played but nothing happened.

I called again and got someone right away. I asked what this business was and she told me it was for a "personal business matter." I asked what that was and she wouldn't say. She just kept asking me if this was [redacted]. She then said they would find another way to get in touch with me, and hung up the phone. I called back, and when she heard my voice, she hung up.Desired Settlement: I feel that when a reputable firm tries to contact you, they should leave a professional message stating their name, number and reason for calling. And calling somewhere and then being hung up on for no reason whatsoever is unacceptable.

Review: [redacted] has supposedly sold my account to RMCB, Retrieval-Masters Creditors Bureau Inc, for a total of $234.43. The items billed were sent back to [redacted], so no bill was accrued. When I log into [redacted], these charges are nowhere to be found on my account history. I have tried to contact RMCB directly, but have gotten nowhere with them. This is a fraudulent collection account. All items were unsolicited and returned to sender.Desired Settlement: I would like RCMB to stop the collection process before it hurts my credit score even further. [redacted] has no record of these charges on the account history because the charges are not valid. All items were unsolicited and returned upon arrival.

Review: I received a fraudulent collection notice from this business dated January *, 2015. They are claiming I owe $59.80 for a purchase from [redacted] or Personal Predictions for Prosperity. I never made any such purchase. I believe this is a collection scam. The letter even states they are "worried about my well being." The overall language of this letter leads me to believe this is a scam to collect money from elderly people.Desired Settlement: I want this company to cease sending me letters immediately and remove me from any of their internal records. I want confirmation that this has been done and that I do not owe any money. I also believe they should be investigated further for their unethical collection practices. I believe the authorities should be involved.

Review: AMCA is a collection company collecting on behalf of [redacted] There was an amount of $50 on my collection report from AMCA. I called to resolve as I was unaware of this debt. The bills were sent to a former address of [redacted]. I asked if I paid the debt would it be taken off my credit report, a young lady said they would update but not remove, it would be in my best interest to call quest and square up with them then call AMCA back and they would remove it. I did so and to my surprise there was another charge that would be going to collections, I paid both and brought my account current. I then called AMCA to inform them and ask if they can remove and they stated it was not their policy to remove anything from my credit report because I should not have taken the advice of the individual who I spoke with earlier. The gentlemen also mentioned that removing from credit report was against the law in California. To my understanding that is a violation of the fair credit report act. Please advise if this is correct.Desired Settlement: My file number with AMCA is listed on next sheet I would like for them to consider that the address they had on file was not the correct and also consider that all debts have been paid thus removing the collection status from all 3 credit bureaus.

Response:

Please be advised of the following as it pertains to [redacted]'s complaint. Our client placed the following two account numbers with our agency to recover [redacted] & [redacted] funds for lab work as [redacted] stated in his complaint our representatives will state our company's policy regarding removal, Our policy states that we do not remove accounts from the bureau in exchange for and because of payment to an account. The accounts are updated as paid, settled etc. This is how the bureau's operate and suggest as best practices for agency's. With that being said we appreciate [redacted]'s bringing his account current with our client and providing our offices on 10/**/2014 with the requested proof of payment for the account. After a complete review of the circumstances surrounding the complaint we elected to request for removal of the account from the credit bureau.

We trust that this resolves your concerns, please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Review: I received a very abrupt letter from Retrieval Masters Creditors Bureau, inc on or around 11/**/2015 stating "Ignoring or refusing to pay a legitimate debt like the one you owe our client, New Jersey Turnpike E-ZPass, is unacceptable."

After calling and requesting a formal debt validation letter with respect to the alleged violations with NJ E-ZPass on 11/**/2015 I was informed it would be in my hands within 7-10 days. I followed up on 12/**/2015 since I had not received any correspondence. A second letter was mailed on 12/**/2015, which as of 12/**/2015 has still not been received.

I am not paying a illegitimate debt, and to date this company has failed to adhere to Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and has not provided any legitimate debt validation letter as requested twice.Desired Settlement: As I can't dispute this with the credit bureaus since it is not filed with them, I am requesting a debt validation letter containing the details of the alleged violations with the NJ Turnpike violation numbers, and accompanying paperwork from NJ E-ZPass.

In the event they continue to fail to provide this information I request that this account be closed and further collection activity ceased.
