I do apologize that you are unhappy with our decision but according to the contact that you signed you must cancel your move 5 BUSINESS days before your scheduled move date in order to receive a refund of your deposit. Yes your move was booked for July [redacted] and yes you did cancel your move on July [redacted] but given the information I provided in which is also stated in the signed contract you cancelled your move outside of your time window. In this case you cancelled your move 4 BUSINESS days before your scheduled move date. I hope you find this information helpful and understand how our decision was made. First and foremost on behalf of Sega Transport we would like to apologize for a bad experience. As per the guaranteed delivery date our sales reps are not in the position to guarantee any delivery dates. We aim to deliver east coast moves within 3 - 7 business days but as per our contract signed by...

customer on June *, by law we are given up to 21 business days to deliver customers goods from date of pick up. As per the property damage our corporate office is handling that issue. The reason that the customers rate was indeed raised is due to the 200 additional cubic feet that their shipment took up in the truck. Customer was originally quoted for 500 cf and at time of pick up actually used 700 cf which would make customer responsible for the additional cost.  Again we aim for a great customer experience and apologize that we were not able to meet your standards. The owner Tony was the first call I received as soon as my request posted that I was looking for movers to move my furniture from Pennsylvania to California. He was extremely polite, wasn't aggressive as to why I should use his company, and he was also what I thought to be honest and straight forward. I received several other phone calls and quotes that day and days later but for some reason something about Tony stuck with me. He quoted me the lowest and I probably should have been alerted then but he made several promises that the price would not change, no matter what. He talked in detail about his company and the services they would provide to me, how my belongings would be taken care of properly. Promised he wasn't a broker, he'd been in the business for years, he wasn't here to con me or get over on me. He'd answer my calls every day several times a day answering all my questions. He told me he thought I was one of the nicer customers he's dealt with and didn't mind talking to me. I still was uneasy with such a low quote and called him back a few times to recap all my belongings making sure I wasn't cheating him, because I knew I had more items than I anticipated as I continue to pack. He continued to assure me the price would not change and that he usually over estimates just incase I did have more items than anticipated. Then things change as soon as my deposit clears. Tony would no longer answer my calls or even return my calls. His voicemail is full so there's no way of leaving a message, you just have to catch him when you can. Then the movers arrive, very polite, very professional. Things are going good at this point. All my items are packed onto the truck and they hit me with a price double the quote Tony gave me. I was in tears!!! They told me call Tony and see what he can do for you. Of course Tony never answers and when he does he's busy and has to call me back, but never calls me back. My items finally arrive to California and several items are not only damaged but destroyed!!!! So now the only people I have been able to contact are customer service and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Long story short Tony was one of the highest quotes I received just a little under three grand and I was treated horribly. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I am now waiting for action from [redacted]. I will follow the process they outline. But Sega Transporation's message via Revdex.com suggests that [redacted] is an insurance company, while the [redacted] site makes clear that MovingClaims is *not* an insurance company but just an administrative support provider to Sega Transport. From the [redacted] website:

On behalf of Sega Transport we apologize that the customer was displeased with our service. The moving industry tends to reach it's peek during the summer seasons. The original estimate was for 331 cf and at time of pick up the truck reflects that the customer actually used 381 cf of space. That...

additional 50 cf of space used the customer is responsible for, therefore we did not lie or mislead the customer she in fact used more space than what was allotted for. There was never a guaranteed delivery date given to the customer. As per the contract signed by the customer on average east coast moves can take 3-7 business days but that is not a guarantee. The contact also states that by law we are given up to ** business days to deliver the customers goods from date of pick up. As per our contract we delivered the customers goods with in contracted time frame. As discussed with a rep here at our office a check of $150 was sent out for the reimbursement for the stairs fee to the customer. The remainder of the customers "Missing" goods were already delivered. If there are any additional missing and or damaged items the customer needs to contact our 3rd party claims department at ###-###-####. We here at Sega Transport aim for the customer to have a pleasant experience with our company in this case we apologize again that we were not able to meet the customers satisfaction. When I was approached by this company to do business I told them that the moving company that we had contracted months prior was no longer able to move us and I needed someone immediately to move my daughter! They reassured me they could have someone loaded her tomorrow am with no problems we agreed on price and then he sent me a contract. Assured me her stuff would be done tomorrow at 8 am . They would call me later that day and let me know the exact time. They never called! I called them and he told me from 8 to 12. No one showed up called them back and they said they could not do it today. Retold them the situation and they said they would let me know. Never heard from them called them back. Could not get thru to them went thru the main line and they told me 45 minutes and they would be there. Once again a lie. Never heard from them. Called again and could not reach them so talked to another person and she told me they could not get our stuff today! Told her I wanted to cancel the contract and she told me she could not do that only supervisors could do that but they were all out to lunch at 330 and would not be back till 4. Told her to have them call me.. They never did!, they never call me at all!, this all transpired over a 24 hour period! They charged me $450 and just lied to me about everything . I received a call from another moving service about 630pm that night saying he was contracted by sega transportation to move us!, I explained I had canceled that service because I already had to get her stuff moved out that day!! Basically they lie to you to get you to sign the contract and then you can never reach them again because they wont answer your call unless you call from a different number!! Very disappointed in this company and the people who run it!,,

This company is a scam. They arrived 3 days later than promised for pick up. Did not have the decency to inform me of the delays until I called the office repeatedly myself. I had to dis-assemble furniture myself. When they did arrive and load the furniture they provided a contract that was $500 more than the previously given binding contract 50% of which had to be paid for them to leave with the furniture with promise to resolve with the office when they opened the next. This was not honored via the office. DO NOT make the mistake of using this company. I will be personally filing a formal complaint and civil action suit against this company on the principle of how terribly managed this company is.

First of all the furniture was not delivered within the 21 days as per contract, it was delivered in 27 days. I have to file a claim with the insurance company on the damaged items so I do not know if I will be reimbursed at this point. The items were heirlooms from my mother's estate and I do not have receipts as to the value. I will need to wait to see if I receive any reimbursement from my claim.

As the contract states if the driver needs to transfer the items to a smaller truck in order to deliver the goods to the customer, the customer is responsible for the additional fees that incur. I understand that your concern is the time but we do delivery at ll different times of day and that has nothing to do with the truck being able to fit down the street. We apologize that you are displeased with our policy but you did agree to our terms and conditions once you signed the contract. Any other questions please contact us. Thank you.

My furniture was delivered at 8PM in the evening when a large moving truck would obviously have some level of difficulty maneuvering down a residential street.  My husband was home at the time to receive our furniture and deal with the delivery men.   While at work  I received a threatening call by the dispatcher that my belongings would be sent back to New York if I did not pay an additional $300.00 CASH because a second attempt would have to be made the following day and due to the fact that SEGA would have to transfer my belongings to a smaller truck to make my "small" delivery.  Granted I've now read every line of the contract and acknowledge that a transfer fee is in there however many deliveries are made on this street in addition to having large garbage trucks come down it every Tuesday.   My argument  is that at 8PM there are more cars on the street than he was willing to maneuver around.  Had they delivered at a PROPER business hour I would not have had to spend an additional $300 CASH due to the drivers lack of skills.

Attached you will find a copy of the notes that were recorded in [redacted] account. According to the notes the customer was made aware on August 9th that we will pick her shipment up on August [redacted] customer agreed. Shortly after that the customer called back into the office to inform us...

that she would have to cancel her move due to the building restrictions. Her complex would not allow a trailer truck to enter. We offered a long carry which would be additional fee and the customer rejected that offer. The customer was explained that she would not receive a refund for her deposit due to our cancellation policy in which she fell outside of. Customer did not dispute or disagree. As per the contract that you signed we are given 21 BUSINESS days to deliver the customers goods. As I explained you were picked up on July [redacted] and delivered on Aug [redacted]. Weekends are not included in the 21 business days which means we were one day outside of the 21 day time frame. As for the items that are damaged you will need to go through our claims department. They are the most awful, ignorant company to ever deal with! They quote you a price, then change it once they are done loading.

Here was my dealings with them:
They give you a quote, promise everything is fine. I moved from PA to GA and they were supposed to come with a moving van but showed up with a budget rental truck. I told them there was no way they would fit my stuff in that little truck. Well, after all was said and done and still things left behind, they couldn't even fit my mattresses on. They told me they were going to have someone else pick them up the next day! I told them I was on a deadline and was leaving after they were gone and that this was unacceptable! They closed the door to the truck and put my mattresses on the back of the truck outside in the elements ( it had begun to snow) and then told me they were going to the Bronx to unload this and reload onto a different truck. That is handling my goods once too often. My items were being taken to the Bronx, NY and reloaded then loaded onto another truck and I could not watch how they were being handled! Needless to say, many many items were damages and most was not repairable. Of course I called to report this and no answer on the phone. I finally got a number to call a was told how to get forms to report the damage. Did everything they asked for, sent forms, took pictures etc. and they have not gotten back to me. This was 4 months ago. AND to make matters worse, I was approached by the head person and was told they expected a 10% tip from the total bill! I was floored and upset that this man had the audacity to even ask this! The bill was almost twice the amount quoted. I had very limited resources and they took it all!
Once the goods were delivered to GA, the person in charge wanted the money orders to be blank. Sorry but if you are the same company there should not have been a problem with it filled totally out. He wanted me to take him to the bank to cash them which I couldn't due to the fact that they were filled out and signed by my Fiance and not me. I told him to call his boss and that he had to deal with that one by himself which he did.
To date they have not responded to my damages nor do I ever expect them to. They are a very shady company. I will also report them to the Atty. General for fraud and misrepresentation.
Don't believe anything they say or promise you because it's not true! This company is a broker which in the beginning they told me they weren't and they hire out other people who are not professional movers to do their work. Good luck!
