Edward from our office spoke with the customer. A technician will be going out to the customers home on Monday.
The customer policy lapsed back in may and they tried to place a claim on 9/26. The customer is not due any money , however we will send a check for the $162. Please allow 14- 30 days.
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I have not been provided an information that would allow me to know what 13.2 refers to and why you can cancel my policy without my permission and still keep my money. I have received the checks that were mailed out August 15, 2017, but again they are for the claims but only $106 for a refund. This is unacceptable. This is less than 20% of what I paid for a policy I was unable to use due to the gross miscommunication by Select Home Warranty. If the company had been even reasonably responsive to my many phone calls we would have been able to resolve the issue. However since I was not able to resolve this issue I have spent months with out the full use of the policy. The only time I was able to access my rights as a policy holder were the two service calls in March/April and those have only been paid to me this week and will not be cashed as I am rejecting this as a refund attempt. I can not see any benefit I received from this policy during the time I had, before SHW cancelled the policy, furthermore your cancellation fees and breakdown of charges are excessive.

I am rejecting this response because:I verified with my title company and they have not received the check either at their single location or the headquarters downtown. When I spoke with a rep on 9/21 at various times throughout the day I was told a check hadn't been issued. I will accept resolution when I have the check in hand. Thank you.

The policy does have a 30 day wait period before claims can be made. we did speak with the customer and will give a full refund.

I am rejecting this response because: I WAS PROMISED A REFUND BY MR. AVI AND ONLY RECEIVED $425.00.

We did speak with the customer. They are not eligible for a full refund. Service was provided on this account and claims were paid.We will waive the cancellation fee for cancellation. We have gone above the policy terms by doing this.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to...
complaint ID [redacted]. I do not believe they handled themselves professionally or morally. They sited numerous clauses as to why they would only refund a portion of what we paid for example, 10.678 and 15.678, it's typical for this company that they would bury information at the back of the contract so you are unaware of the actual guidelines. At this point we have received $800 back and want to stop pursuing, the amount of time this takes is not worth the money.
The coverage for plumbing fixtures is listed as a separate entity altogether, it is offered separately on the website and on the front page of the contract which the cutomer is required to sign.We list it under optional coverage because it is not offered in the regular plumbing coverage, if the customer chooses to cancel they will receive a pro-rated refund. The customer may call Select Home Warranty to request cancellation and we will be able to answer any questions or concerns.
I am rejecting this response because: they sent a technician of Air condition. Select home warranty didn't cover any penny . I paid in full to that technician too, he over charged for Freon.Paid almost $400 for that service even my system not holding that much Freon. when he start putting Freon from the beginning he start shaking his Freon container until end his job. How you push that much Freon if its empty. If they need Will sent a proof of receipt too. when I called other electric problems that has to be cover no where it mentioned on the contract that out lets that attached with my home walls will not cover. These companies are fraud trapping people differently and increasing balance in there heart and bank too. Their all inexperience technician fail to provide services they are not suppose to charge any thing because they didn't diagnose problems and they left. I would like them to pay back of my money in full because they fails to provide services and keep running Fraud business. They need to stop this Nonsense innocent people trapping business.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. I do not find this response satisfactory, but do not feel that I will receive any better response should I pursue it further, so I will accept the refund. Once it became clear to me that the warranty company would not honor their warranty and the cost of the A/C repair or replacement was going to fall to me, I called a second company of my choice for another quote. The second company discovered that the diagnosis of the warranty companies service provider was false, and they were able to quickly repair the A/C unit. I am being refunded the $399 for the original cost of the warranty. However, I am still out of pocket $260 for the warranty companies service provider to give me a false diagnosis, plust the $350 for the second company to actually fix the unit. And I want to ensure that other consumers are alerted to the fact that Select Home Warranty is marketing their warranty to NEW homebuyers, who will not have 3 years of service data for their appliances, and then they have no intention of fulfilling their warranty. I do not know how this is not fraudulent activity and would request that the Revdex.com look into this further on behalf of other consumers.

The customer placed a claim for his ac. As part of the agreement, without 3 years maintenance records there is a $150 max cap payout on ac systems. The customer was approved for the policy max. The customer voiced his dissatisfaction with the policy by sending us an email. We called him back to try...
to help him further and he hung up on us. The customer may call Mr [redacted] at [redacted] for further help with this issue. Please remember he already has been approved for the max payout.
The customer has already been informed that their claim was denied. The customer had maintenance work done and a keypad installed both of which are not covered under the customers contract. No additional funds due at this time.

The customer contacted Select Home Warranty and has worked with us to resolve the matter, we have sent a reimbursement for in the amount of 200.89, once it is returned we will expedite the payment process.
The policy is clear on the cps and limits. A reimbursement check has already been mailed.
We received the refund check today in the amount of $585.35.Thank you for your help with this process. As I stated, we don't feel they honored their end of our contract and should have refunded two full years. We simply needed our washing machine serviced and after a month of trying we were finally instructed to call our own service company and they would reimburse us. After seeing all of the stories on the Revdex.com pages, I knew we would have been pro-rated in that reimbursement according to appliance age etc. This was their game. Every scenario is like clock work. I also wanted to mention that after you contacted them they tried to force a contractor to service me. They refused the job for multiple reasons. The contractor called me to tell me why .. First and foremost, Select Home Warranty owed him money and he had been trying to collect and he refused to do any additional work until they paid him. And, I was outside of his travel radius even if he would accept the job.
We did reach out to the customer and they will be sending over more information required for the claim. The customer will be covered according to the policy terms.
I am totally disappointed in this Select Home Warranty company since day one of the transfer of policy from the original owner. I purchased this home feeling secure with the fact that I had coverage and it's been nothing but a nightmare with them. After the ordeal that tried to happen with my pool pump situation I decided the best course of action would be to cancel my policy. I informed them several weeks ago that I wasn't the original purchaser of this policy and wanted to know how the refund would get taken care of. They advised that a check would be sent out to the address in question. I called them this morning to find out the status if the situation to find that yet again I got screwed over by this company not twice but three times. Not only did they fail to send me the refund in the mail they also decided to inform me that there was a fee involved with the cancellation. I as a consumer feel RAPED by this company. I will never recommend this company to anyone. And if in the future I was to purchase another home and they had this company as a warranty policy I would pass on it. Knowing full well that this company is nothing but heartache.
