If you are waiting to receive a check in the mail, you will have to wait 10- 14 business days for holding and then 10-14 days for check to be received in the mail. You guys are welcome! They will not explain this over the phone when you call unless you ask the right questions. I will not be using them again. also my credit score only went down the longer I stayed with them. My credit score on their account is showing 495, my credit has only gone down on their website. I track my credit score from 4-5 sites and that is the lowest my credit score has ever been, my range in 600-608 between my three credit reports. I could have literally saved my own money and not gotten charged if I knew nothing was going to change. I paid off my loan 2 months in advance so I can just use the money to put towards a secured credit card, which I highly recommend.

Once an account has been completed, funds will typically arrive in 10-14 business days to the payout method you have selected. This timeframe includes account processing, time for all customer payments to settle and mailing time/direct deposit settling periods.
We can’t accurately say how much this will impact your credit score because everyone’s credit report is different.
Self Lender uses the Experian Vantage Score 3.0 scoring model. We recommend using a combination of personal finance tools to maintain an updated picture of your overall credit health. The most popular score used by lenders is the FICO score. The reason why Self Lender and other companies don't offer a FICO score is due to the high cost to show you a FICO score monthly. As a result, the more affordable alternatives such as the VantageScore are calculated differently than FICO.

The issue resolved with self lender

I attempted to utilize self lenders credit building account but shortly before my first payment I came into financial distress and needed to cancel that investment. I exchanged emails requesting cancelations of all my accounts and mutually agreed that I would forfeit just the administration fee that I had paid. The remaining balance would not effect me or count negatively on my credit report. I found this untrue for the past 3 months and self lenders is reporting me 3 months late that is costing me housing and I am now homeless due to there ridiculous uncanny irresponsible and disrespectful fruadulant manners in practice. I give them one week to fix it or I'm seeing them and I'm sui g Revdex.com because of there recommendations. I have the emails to prove it.

We apologize that your experience has been less than excellent and understand your frustration, the account is closed as of 12/6/18 per your request. This customer reached out via email on 10/7 requesting a payment deferral to which we responded with our grace period and the option to cancel his account if he is unable to make a payment on 10/8/18. The customer responded on 10/9 stating that he would like to move forward with the cancellation and we sent him the cancellation instructions to close his account. Our cancellation process requires two unique forms of communication to confirm the closure as we cannot reverse a closed account to reopen it. Our customers can reach us via phone, email, sms, a logged in request from their Self Lender Dashboard as well as chat during business hours to cancel their account. The email to Mr. clearly states that he must take further action to fully close his account. We did not receive a response to the verification text we sent on 10/9 nor did he complete the necessary step outlined in our email to him. The customer reached out again via email on 12/5/18 requesting to cancel his account. We responded to his email four minutes after it was received with the cancellation procedure that states there is further action required to close his account. We resent the cancelation confirmation text message on 12/5 at 1:08 PM to which he promptly replied “YES”. The customer’s account was fully closed on 12/6 after two forms of cancelation were received .This customer’s account has been fully closed per his request and reported as complete to all three credit bureaus. We take pride in accurate reporting and outline our reporting timeline that clearly states that we are required to report accounts late if they reach 30 and/or 60 days past due. Unfortunately, we are required to report factual information to remain compliant, therefore, we cannot adjust the late reporting between October and December as there were no payments made for the balances due and the customer did not complete the account closure requirements provided to him

I am rejecting this response because I consider initial email and the conversation with your customer service misreprestative sufficient notice to close the account. You had zero excuse to injure my credit the way you have. I will pursue you in fruadulent charges, deliberately reporting gals information to credit bureau, defamation of character, and Monetary compensation for the entire time you remain on my credit r. Lawyer up. We're going to court.

I opened a secured loan with self lender. They failed to take the money out of my account by ACH in September, so I paid online BEFORE THE 30 DAYS was up. Then they failed to take it out on auto pay again in October, and reported me 30 days late on the 31st day. Now I obtain my credit report and see that they are reporting me 30 days LATE TWO TIMES, which is not true and DID NOT HAPPEN. They refuse to correct this error and my credit score has dropped by 60 points because of this.

Self Lender takes pride in remaining compliant and ensuring accurate reporting for each customer. Based on the agreement late payments will be reported to the Credit Bureaus when it is 30 days overdue. To help our customers avoid this reporting, we send customers emails at 1 day, 10 days, 15 days, and 30 days past due to make them aware of account status. All communications, incoming and outgoing, are recorded/stored and can be provided upon request. When payments fail, as with the Case for Mr., we reach out via the email address provided by the customer at enrollment to notify our customers of this status so that they can rectify the situation. The ‘failed payment’ notification email sent to the customer contains the reason for payment failure. This failure was due to the payment being submitted from a closed bank account. In this case, we agree that a payment was made in September, but there were no successful payments submitted for the balance due in the months of August or October. Therefore, the 30-day late payment rating for October was accurately submitted. We have worked with this customer to confirm that the 30 day late report from November has been adjusted to reflect a current rating for the month of November. When the adjustment was submitted thebureaus processed that information and required a “settling period” to ensure the new information to reflect current reporting updates and the late payment drops off. During this period the customer could see their trade line reflecting twice to show both lines while the updated information settles. We have reached back out to the customer to update him on the fact that the late payment has been adjusted and provided screenshots to show that the trade line only appears once for one late payment and the outdated information has dropped off.

I am rejecting this response because:

Their canned response makes absolutely no sense, and is just more double talk about their process and how they send emails etc. Tje September payment was made on September 23rd 2018 for the August payment that was returned. Their own records show this, and I provided them copies of their own statements AND emails showing that. So their claim that no payment was made for August and October is meritless to say the least. They verified my disputes of the second late that they were reporting, which is a violation of 1681s-2(b). There is also NO “settling period” with the credit reporting agencies. Kim Hughes from experian (special handling) has verified this. If this was the case, then Self Lender can claim that they were indemnified when they get sued. But they have *** Banks do the reporting to (2) of the credit bureaus. Said address for *** Banks is in SD according to the credit bureaus. Yet they are not registered in MI or SD, but they are registered in MN. *** Banks is an assumed name of United Financial Corp, all of which are not registered in MI. Self Lender admitted in emails that IT DOES NOT REPORT TO THE CREDIT BUREAUS, but that it’s “bank” does. But as a consumer, I am supposed to be able to dispute it directly with the “furnisher”, but you can’t, because Self Lender is NOT the furnisher. They are not only violating by verifying inaccurate information, their response is ridiculous and makes no sense.

Regards

Somebody opened up a self lender account in my name without my knowledge. I learned about it after it started affecting my credit and there afterwards started paying it because I didn't want any dings on my credit. I've contacted self lender countless times to get this account deleted because of the adverse information it's reporting that is preventing me from purchasing a house. This account has already been deleted from TransUnion and Equifax but for some reason they refuse to remove it from Experian. I never signed any agreement or contract with them and I want this erroneous account removed immediately.

Self Lender takes pride in remaining compliant and ensuring accurate reporting for each customer. This customer’s account was opened on 12/182017 and successfully completed after 9 months of payment history. Self Lender has had multiple conversations with this customer regarding his account which includes emails and calls at which point the customer’s information is verified prior to releasing customer account information. All communications, incoming and outgoing, are recorded/stored and can be provided upon request to verify communication with the customer. The customer service or lack there of, is THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! The operators answering the phones are either illiterate or just cant understand plain English. when requesting a supervisor they refuse or say one is not available. I requested a supervisor call back and that never happened as well. I paid off the loan early, never a missed payment and now Im concerned of FELONY FRAUD because I no one can answer when my money will be sent to me. I had contacted their associate bank Lead Bank in Garden City, Mo. but they were unable to confirm any information other than they lend money to Self Lender to fund credit improving deposit accounts.

Self Lender takes pride in offering excellent customer service and ensuring that each representative is thoroughly trained to respond to customer queries in a prompt and concise manner. We apologize for any experience with less than excellent interaction with our team and welcome the feedback to ensure growth and learning. The customer reached out on 12/17/2018 for information regarding his account and was unable to accurately give his name to the representative on the line. When a supervisor is not immediately available a call back request is submitted as with this situation. A supervisor reached back out to the customer within 3 hours of his initial call and the issue was settled.
Once an account has been completed, funds will typically arrive in 10-14 business days to the payout method selected by the customer. This customer’s funds were sent on the 8th business day, December the 18th, after his account was completed on December 6th 2018.
Self Lender has multiple banking partners and this customer is not associated with Lead Bank. As we have multiple banking partners they were unable to divulge his account information due to our partners having access to only their accounts held with Self Lender for security purposes.

Self lender is reporting fraudlent information on all three credit reports . I also contacted them in regards to fixing the issue only to be treatedlike I didnt matter.

I received an email halfway through completion and was told a check would be coming in 10-14 days for $63. On July 26, 2018 I received an email that I had completed my account and they offered to waive the fee for my next account, but there was no indication of when I would receive the remaining balance of my account. I should have been mailed a check sometime in August, but I never received one. I have also been having issues logging onto the website. I have been locked out of my account multiple times, even when I provided the correct password.

Self Lender takes pride in getting all owed customer funds back to them in 10-14 business days per the timeline on our website. The customer’s account, started on September 12th 2017, was closed on February 1, 2018 due to 80 days of non-payment, and we have issued the funds owed to her for the successful payments submitted. When an account is closed or completed customers will receive any funds paid in minus interest due on the loan and any late/returned payment fees. This customer’s refund was sent on the 8th business day, February 13, 2018, via check to the current address on file entered by the customer. We have not re-issued a check as there has been no communication with Self Lender from the customer stating that she did not receive the mailed check. Self Lender sent the customer an email on February 2, 2018 stating “Our customer success team will print and mail your check by February 13, 2018. You will receive an email from us once your check is in the mail.” The next email stating “Good news! Your check is in the mail! Your check for $63.09 for your credit builder account was printed and mailed from our Austin office today. Most checks arrive within 7-10 business days.” Was sent to the same email address on February 13, 2018.Self Lender has the ability to verify all negotiation statuses of every check issued and is happy to verify the customer’s check and issue a new check if it has not been cashed. In order to do so we would need to receive communication from the customer informing us that her check was not received.

Self Lender takes pride in providing a wealth of knowledge to our customers on our website and in our FAQ section explain how the Credit Builder Account works and what the program entails. As stated on our website, we refund any funds paid in less any accrued interest or fees with 10-14 business days of account closure. The customer contacted us to cancel her account on October 29th, 2018 which was promptly completed. This started the refund process and generated an email stating that Self Lender would send any owed funds by November the 8th, 2018. On November 7th, Self Lender initiated an electronic transfer of funds to the customer selected bank account. Once the direct deposit is initiated we unfortunately do not have control over banking institution processing times to add the funds to the customer’s available banking balance. This process typically takes 2-4 business days depending on the banking institution.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!! They do absolutely NOTHING to help your credit score and they try to take credit for everything that you do on your own while you have an account with them. MORE IMPORTANTLY, when it comes time to refund your money they dance around and play games with you. I have been waiting a month and still haven't seen a dime. Their so-called loan shows as a SECURED loan on your credit report which is next to worthless. They are a group of 15-20 college students (supposedly) and they constantly self-review on all of the sites so take any positive review they may have with a grain of salt.

Self Lender takes pride in ensuring that each customer receives their funds in a timely matter according to our payout timeline. Once an account has been completed, funds will typically arrive in 10-14 business days to the payout method you have selected. ?The customer completed his account on October 1st and requested his check be mailed to an address that differs from the address he had entered on his account. Since the customer was unable to edit his address on file he requested via email that his refund check be sent elsewhere. Unfortunately, this email was overlooked by our team and the check was mailed on October 12th to the address on file per our protocol. The customer reached out via telephone on 10/22 to request a duplicate check since the first was not received, his request was promptly honored, and we mailed a new check to the requested address.
The Credit Builder Account does appear as an installment loan as stated on our website. Payment history makes up the largest portion of your score, 35%, and the Credit Builder Account helps you build payment history which can help your score.
Self Lender employees are not allowed to review our company per protocol to remain compliant and avoid biased reviews. This allows our reviews to remain honest and provide feedback, both positive and negative, for future customers.

I started a Self Lender account last October. I paid it off early on October 8th to get my money I have paid for the past year. I got an email saying it would be deposited by October 18th and that I would receive an email when it was sent to my bank. I contacted customer service which emailed me the same thing. I never got an email and my bank doesn't have notice of any intended deposit. I am owed $1100.

Self Lender takes pride in ensuring that each customer receives their funds in a timely matter according to our payout timeline. Once an account has been completed, funds will typically arrive in 10-14 business days to the payout method you have selected. The customer completed her Credit Builder Account on October 7th, and today is the 9th business day from completion as Columbus day was a banking holiday which we observe. She has correctly stated the amount owed to her and we have sent that direct deposit to the bank account selected by the customer on October 18th per the email correspondence sent to her. Self Lender initiates all direct deposits at the close of business each day, 4 pm CST, so typically banks will not start processing funds until the next business day. Depending on the banking institution, deposits may take 2-4 business days to be fully processed. This information has been communicated to the customer via her received email requests for further information regarding her payout.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Self Lender (Sunrise Bank) is showing a late payment on my account fromSpetember 2018 and this late payment have dropped my credit score over 40 points. I have never been late on my self lender account. Every month since I have gotten the account self lender automatically drqafts the money out of my account so I was surprised that I have gotten a late payment from them. That is almost impossible to happen if they are using the same account every month to draft the payments. When I did contact self lender about the late payment reporting they said that they tried to call me and left a voicemail. That is a lie I have never received a call or voucemail from self lender. I check my voicemails everyday. My credit is so important to me if I had known there could of been an issue with my account I would of done everything to fix it to avoid this but there was no issue. I was never late on my self lender account. This company is very unprofessional and I would not be recommending them to anyone.

I am repairing my credit and have been successful clearing everything up. I have outstanding information on my reports up until now. I joined Self Lender based on reviews and results from other consumers all stating that it helped their credit. Self Lender has reported to the bureaus that this is an installment loan, which is incorrect because I have never received any money from them. Additionally, as soon as Self Lender reported to the bureaus, my scores drastically went down by 20 points and during the process I was denied credit due to this point decrease. They have ruined my credit now. I have spoken directly with all three bureaus, Transunion, Equifax and Experian and they all state that Self Lender is the only cause for this point drop. I have paid Self Lender in advance and I have no late payments with them at all.

Self Lender takes care in keeping our FAQ page up to date with accurate information for our customers. The product that we offer is called a Credit Builder Account to help our customers build credit and savings at the same time. A credit builder account is a small 12 or 24-month installment loan that's disbursed and held in a Certificate of Deposit “CD” bank account for 12 or 24 months. The CD account is FDIC-insured and it's in the customer’s name. There is an administrative fee due at enrollment, then next month you start your monthly payment plan to pay off the loan. Payments are reported monthly to all three credit bureaus. At the end of the term, you’ve paid off your loan, your CD matures and unlocks with earned interest.

This customer reached out to us via our Facebook page with a review comment in which she stated that her score dropped due to our account reporting. Our team responded that It is common for a score to drop when a new account is added. This is because new debt is reported and your credit history length is now shorter.

We have provided the customer with the link to our frequently asked questions page that displays the information we provided above. Our account reports as an installment loan because there is a loan which is issued into the customer’s name even though the funds are secured in a Certificate of Deposit and not received upfront like a traditional personal loan. We also state in our FAQ’s that we can’t accurately say if or how much your credit score will increase because everyone’s credit report and financial history are unique, therefore results vary.

They state on their website that the funds for closed accounts would be sent by check in 10 to 14 days. The account was closed on Sept. 8 and I have reached out to them multiple times by phone and email and was ignored. They are a financial institution and as such have obligations to their depositors. Additionally they are filtering out negative reviews on their site and another affiliated website and this is totally misleading the public. I believe they committed committed Fraud by sending me a check for my account which was closed. I will file a complain for wire-fraud with my state's AG.

Thank you for your feedback, Ivan! We love hearing these success stories from our customers!

I noticed on my credit report for Experian being reported that August 2018 payment was late. I wrote in to customer service as well as made a call and the representative assured me that my payment was not over 30 days late and I would need to dispute the history via Experian and follow up with other credit bereaus as well. I did so and waited, only for the dispute to return without being corrected. This is my second time going through this process and I was ensured over email that it would be resolved with dispute.

Self Lender takes pride in remaining compliant and ensuring accurate reporting for each customer. Reporting for the month of August 2018 has not been sent to the bureaus as of 9/4/2018. We have verified that Charmaine is set to be reported as closed/completed and current for August 2018. Reports are compiled at the end of the month and sent out to the credit bureaus early the following month. The credit bureaus will then process and post the data, and it usually appears mid-late in the month when they receive the report.

I patiently waited for months to see my scores go up as self lender reported my always on time payments.. but that didn't happen! My scores were moving up before because of my credit cards and car payments and credit union loan that all were paid on time and moving my scores up slowly but steady..so after your reporting I waited for my score to get an additional boost but that didn't happen...as a matter of fact a mortgage company saw your loan as not a positive but just as another thing lowering my DTI as we are having a house built and need a mortgage over the next few months! Lastly I don't know how or where you get your abysmal credit score from but I have become very educated and self informed about all facets of credit and score models..so when I saw your score this morning I not only disagree with your assessment Im downright perturbed about it! The lowest score I have seen (and I check very often) is my discover card FICO 8 score which is a 647..on the others I have anything from a 667 Experian..to a 701 Equifax.... Now of course I know people debate all the "free" credit scores that are available to us out there today, many saying these aren't real scores..but I have found that no score tell's the the whole story and companies use different ones.. In conclusion my credit has improved by leap's and bounds through my hard work and on time payments.. for example my car loan which will be 2 years old soon never been late and just paid off my 12 monthcredit union loan . I will continue to pay my self lender on time until it's finished and complete, but my results are nothing short of disappointing! Now you can claim that your company has been helping but I know for a fact that I raised my score by obtaining credit cards and paying on time and keeping my utilization around 9-12 %.. over the summer my son went to internationals for a fps (future problem solvers) convention and I did use more credit than I feel comfortable with but I needed to get him there..my scores reflected this increase and I quickly brought them back down restoring all my scores temporary losses and have even seen a recent bump because of paying them off/down...if I relied on your score and assessment I would feel like all my hard work is for nothing, because your score that you give doesn't reflect the true picture at all . I'm aware that applying for credit usually results in a hard pull and temporary drag on your score, but like the old saying you can't make money without spending money, also holds true. I have gone from having a secured credit card with a $200.00 limit to 5 accounts totaling $5000.00 unsecured. Feeling accomplished in spite of you.

Self Lender is not providing Equifax and TransUnion Credit Bureaus with my timely CD loan payments.
I have contacted Equifax, TransUnion, City National Bank of NJ (which has the CD) and Self Lender and the problem still exists.

I opened a loan with Self Lender on January, 2018.
I have made all my monthly payments early.

Equifax and TransUnion are showing that my last payment was made in May, 2018, even though I made payments in June and July, 2018.

Self Lender's negligence is hurting my credit score, which the opposite of their mission statement.

Self Financial Response • Aug 13, 2018

Self Lender takes pride in accurate reporting for all customers to all three credit reporting bureaus. Reports are compiled at the end of the month and sent out to the credit bureaus early the following month. The credit bureaus will then process and post the report in accordance with their publishing schedule, but it usually appears mid-late in the month when they receive the report. We can confirm that payment data has been sent each month for this customer according to schedule and the contractual agreement between Self Lender and the customer.

We received a notice that this customer filed a dispute in mid July with TransUnion which can halt or slow down publishing of the payment data that we send. Our banking partner has responded to the dispute with updated and accurate payment information to be updated on the bureaus’ reporting.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

Self Lender does not address my Equifax credit report which hasn't shown a payment since May, although I made payments in June, July and August. My Equifax report has not been updated since May 31, 2018.

This is not timely and has nothing to do with my August, 2018 Revdex.com complaint.

Self Lender claims to ofer a $10 referal credit to clients that reccomend Self Lender, As a success towards others bulding credit I reffered an individual. When reached out to Self Lender I was told that they would not give the referal credit. This is deceptive advertising. The account was confirmed by Self Lender.

The Self Lender website clearly lists the program guidelines and eligibility requirements. All Self Lender members are eligible for the referral program. Their referral must also make at least one successful monthly payment. Please note that if the referral does not sign up using your unique referral link, the customer will not be credited and therefore will be ineligible for the $10 referral credit. The unique code given to our customers is used to generate referral payouts and track the high volume of referrals we receive. If a referral forgets to use the unique referral link, we ask that the customer send an email to [email protected] with their name, preferred method of contact, and the name of their referral. Exceptions are not guaranteed and our team will determine eligibility on a case-by-case basis.

I am rejecting this response because: Company does not guarantee the referral will be paid. Apparently, they don’t value referrals from clients. It’s not the lousy $10 it’s the principle at this point I feel they should pay out.
