Signpost, Inc Reviews (209)

As a self-owned and operated business owner, it is challenging to find businesses and most importantly, people to assist you with your own unique needs. I have been working with Signpost for several years and they have always exceeded my expectations. I have a rather unique business and they have always worked withing those parameters to help me grow my business. Anyone that you speak with and work with, it is easy to see they all enjoy their jobs and WANT to help the small business owner be successful. I highly recommended them as the staff, business ethics and "can do" attitude is impeccable. I am grateful for their help and service.

Review: When the salesmen at Signpost called me he had promised me about 8 sales per month, and I had signed up for the service, but then after about week I was told I would be up on about 6 different local sites, and that was not the case. I called back in requesting to get my money back and they said they could not refund me my money because of their policy. I felt I was cheated and lied to. Also they told me it would take about 3 months to actually see any results. Which there again I was lied to as well. Then I call to tell them I wanted to cancel my account and get my money back. They would not do anything. So I disputed with my credit card company, and then they rebutted the charge again back onto my credit card while they took down my advertising deals. All I wanted was my money back and now I am being told they cannot offer me anything. [redacted] the account manager claims she was trying to help me resolve the issues, and there was not a thing she was doing for me. I feel this company has cheated me out of my money, and screwed me over. I am very unhappy. I even told them I was thinking about contacting my attorney. Which they still said they would not do anything for me.Desired Settlement: I would like to get my money refunded back to me for the misrepresentation, and be given an apology. Or be given an additional 7 months free to continue out with it. But really I want my money back for sure.

Response:

Hi [redacted],

Review: I paid Signpost for many months and got some real nice reports about how good they were doing. By May I realized their hype didn't match their performance. I called and canceled their service. I told them then that I did not get any business from them. They ask me to try it for another 2 months and see if it got better. After 2 months nothing had changed except they started charging my credit card again. They had promised me more business and delivered nothing. I told them I wanted my $199 back but they refused and would not give me the name of a supervisor. I stopped payment on their draft which cost me $30 so I'm one of their luckier clients because I caught it in time to stop the draft.Desired Settlement: I want my $30 back and no further contact with the company.

Review: The service I purchased for $1200 provided me with 135 email addresses. I emailed them numerous times over the year I had the service and never had a response. These 135 "people" were supposed to have downloaded a voucher which was to be presented for a reduced or free service from my business. Not one person came in with these "vouchers." I was also frustrated with the length of time it took to change the marketing campaigns. The company does not communicate well at all with the customer unless you want to cancel the renewal. I did this, and agreed to try an "upgraded" service for 6 months. I was supposed to have a demonstration on December **, 2014, but the sales rep never called, never emailed, even though we had a verified appointment. I feel this was a big waste of money am very suspicious of the email leads I was given especially when it resulted in 0 contacts and zero sales over the course of one year.Desired Settlement: I would like either a full refund or a full year of the "upgraded service" at no cost to me. I am a veteran business [redacted] and subscribed to this service in good faith, but feel completely taken advantage of.

Review: When I signed up with signpost, they let me know that they were going to be adding me to databases and providing a lead generation tool where people would save an offer from my business (I went with $20 off the first visit at our office).

They said that if 4 leads were not generated a month, they would refund that month's premium ($125).

Every month about 4 new emails were sent to me saying that someone "saved my offer". However, after 7 months of the service, NOT 1 NEW PATIENT HAS CALLED, COME IN, OR EMAILED OUR OFFICE! I have had 41 "leads generated," and not a single soul has contacted me.

I feel that these are made up emails that they are creating to ensure that they get my $125 a month. I know there is an opportunity for people to save the ad, but I feel that there is a dishonest business practice going on here.

I called previously, and asked if I cancelled if all the databases would be taken down. They said "no, but they would charge me a $375 fee for early termination of the contract."Desired Settlement: I would like to keep information about my business on the websites they updated. I would like to remove the link to the signpost deal, and just leave the deal as "call the office and mention this offer."

I would like to not be charged the cancellation fee, as I have already paid close to $1000 over the last 7 months and not received a single person mentioning the signpost offer. With their dishonest business practice, I should demand a refund, but at this point, the only thing I want is to never give this company another cent. I want to cancel my services, leave the database info up, and not pay a cancellation fee. I feel like that's more than fair after they misrepresented their products and stole $1000 from me.

Response:

I have spoken with the business, and they have assured me that they are not making up emails. I do not believe them, but have changed my program to not include the mobile marketing that I feel is dishonest.

They do a good job with the increase in SEO optimization, so I have chosen to only use that aspect of their services. While a portion of this company is dishonest, there is some value in what they do in other aspects.

At this time, I do not seek any other reimbursements, as they have discounted my rate and refunded 1 month of my service.

Sincerely,

They did the same to me as the other reviews. Did up hold their end of the contract. Told me I had to pay 3 months no matter if they didn't do anything. I wrote a letter to terminate contract they told me they didn't care they would allow me to fire them until they received all of there money. So I blocked them on my card then they used a different merchant number ( this is what I was told by [redacted]) seems like this is there normal way of business. I don't do business with company's who dont have any type of ethics!!!! Just wanted others to read reviews before they buy there product or service.

Great service. They walk you thru all the details. Very friendly people to work with

Review: I sign up for this company that promise me that they where going to bring many clients to my business and guaranteed that if I sign up I would received at least 5 new clients in the month or I would received my money back

3 Months has past and I have not received one phone call from any new clients I have called costumer service several times and they advised me to gave more time that the clients are saving my coupons I used the E-mail leads of the clients that have supposedly saved my coupons and no one ever reply back I don't even think after reading the reviews from 28 other clients like my self that the E-mails are real...yesterday I called customer service and requested to have this account closed for the 5 time my account was billed $150 on the 05/**/2014 and this morning when I checked my bank account tis company took $ 375 from my account with out my authorization and I am requesting a refund ..

this company is stealing from people in the open air rubbing small company in the open they billed my company $ 450 FOR 3 MONTHS of nothing and on top of that $ 375 that were deducted from my account obviously something here is very wrong and someone has to do something about the scam that sign post is doing to people ...Desired Settlement: I would like $ 450 REFUND For the 3 MONTHS that I have been paying sign post I was promised a refund If did not received at least 5 clients a month

I need a full refund of $375 that was deducted from my account with out my authorization

And finally I need sign post to stop any future billing my card

We have looked into your account extensively and have determined that the services your business received from Signpost were within the scope of reasonable expectations during your time with us. Your business was listed on a full range of web directories and mobile apps, where your business was featured prominently. Your business received 535 visits on these directories and mobile apps. Additionally, your business received 27 'saves', (consumers giving you access to their email address, based on interest in a product/service).

Our platform encourages email re-marketing to interested leads, and our account management team can help you with strategy in your re-marketing efforts.

Lastly, you signed an annual contract with Signpost, where you agreed to pay $149 per month for a year of service to satisfy the contract. Stated in the contract is a $375 cancellation fee, should you decide that you do not wish to continue with the Signpost service. When you called in to cancel on 5/**, our team attempted to offer you a variety of additional services, including a complimentary upgrade. Review: THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE SCAM! Signpost contacted me about there services and guaranteed me placement of an advertisement I created to attract new business to over 30 business review sites and we are now three weeks live and I am on one and it took me a really long time to find! So today I called Signpost to tell them I was extremely upset about promised services THAT I AM NOT RECIEVING there customer service line kept ringing and ringing after 4 attempts to contact the customer service line I opted to speak with the sales dept, to my surprise they picked up immediately (TO SCAM MORE MONEY). So then the same man that sold me this service picked up the phone who spoke very clear English after hearing me complain he then turned into an Australian man (not sure why this happened. is there just one person working in this supervised established company pretending as though he has employees) I demanded to speak with a manager and he then proceed to put me on hold and put himself back on the phone as a 3rd person to tell me he is not refunding me any of my money and I need to give it more time but the simple fact remains I AM NOT ON OVER 30 SITES I am on one and the view of that one site is AWFUL! This company promised me a great return and I have not received a dime!!!!!!!Desired Settlement: I want a full refund

Hello [redacted],

Review: I signed up for a 6-month contract with Signpost. On the first day of working with them Signpost sent an out an email offer for discounted services to my current client base without my consent, and without any discussion. I signed up with Signpost to reach new clientele, not to market a discount to my current client base. This was a major error on their part and a misrepresentation of my company, for which they still have yet to acknowledge or provide compensation. Any initial trust I had in their competence is now non-existent.

When I called my [redacted] he said that he had sent an "initial email campaign to be edited" to some marketing department, but even he realized it should not have been sent out.

This happened within hours of signing up with Signpost. The [redacted] did not listen to my concerns as a business owner. I have been attempting for the last week to contact a [redacted]. I received only one phone call from Signpost on a day when my business is closed. I have now left five voicemails requesting a refund on my account with NO RESPONSE.

This has not helped my business at all, and has only been a waste of my valuable time as a sole proprietor.Desired Settlement: At the very least, a full refund of the six month subscription.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Signpost has been an absolute waste of my money. The salesman did a fantastic job of convincing me signpost would be incredibly helpful and would provide my business with so many more customers. I was under the impression signpost would guarantee real leads, not emails I get from my own work. I was under the impression signpost employees would actually do something so that my advertising would require less time and work for me, and that I was paying for a service to assist with online advertising. I was not under the impression that signpost was nothing more than a sy way to keep customer contacts. I don't use any of the website stuff, because it really isn't put together well enough to be used in the way they claim it can be used. I thought I was recieving a service that would make my life advertising my business easier and I have not had any success so far with signpost. I can't believe I was conned into spending money on this.

Dear Signpost
I am a small scale business with a very tight budget. I do not have the funds to support expensive advertisement. For the past year and a half, Signpost keeps on calling me every month. I have already told them several months ago that I do not want to receive anymore calls and that their calls are disrupting my business hours.
I have asked them to put me on a do not call list but they keep on doing so. I have even blocked their number and they always find another number to call me from. They use a cell phone or Houston area phone number to trick me into answering them.
Signpost, please do not call me anymore. I am not interested in your services. You are wasting my time and yours as well.
Do yourselves a favor and stop HARASSING me.
What can you do to offer me a solution? STOP CALLING ME! SIMPLE AS THAT

As a contractor I would recommend avoiding signpost. They have really cool software that you can't help but get exited about and no charge guarantee that customers will reach out to you looking for your services and make you feel early on that they are going to provide an interactive relationship in the future. After they receive your first payment things change quickly. I have been with signpost for three months now and I have never received a single call from a potential lead. I only received one review through signpost and it wad from a personal friend who would have given me a review anyway had I asked directly. Signpost responded by saying that I had to increase my marketing efforts and I had to expand my customer contact list if I wanted results. Basically I wasn't working hard enough. As for for the price guarantee, they have charged me $200 per month consistently and are yet to meet their promise. Fed up I decided to cancel my membership but that seems to be an issue as well.v they are still charging me and my membership is being automatically renewed while I wait for my account manager to reach out to me. From my experience signpost has nothing to offer small businesses other than a high monthly bill.

The Signpost staff is responsive, helpful, and passionate about supporting their clients' success. Signpost is a unique and highly effective marketing platform I highly recommend to any size business that promises and excellent ROI *as long as you follow all the advice of your Signpost representative.

Review: I hired this company to advertise for me they claimed that they could get me more customers than [redacted] another advertising company that I am using. Not one customer since I hired this advertising company has called or walked though my door. This is unrealisticDesired Settlement: Pay me back the money I have spent since they did not produce one customer.

Response:

Hi [redacted],

Thank you for addressing your concerns regarding Signpost and your account with us. We are dedicated to providing quality customer service and value for all of our customers and we appreciate the feedback. Upon a review of your correspondences between Signpost, we are unable to offer you a refund at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

When you signed up with Signpost in May 2014, you agreed to a 12 Month Contract in which you would pay monthly installments. In the case that you wanted to cancel early, there would be an early cancellation fee. Further in the terms of our Contract and on our website, the details of our Guarantee are written out explaining the services that we provide. Signpost guarantees a minimum of “5 unique customer email addresses will save your offer each month, not including the first month as we focus on updating and syncing your information”. I have reviewed your account and there were 40 unique saves from 5/**/2014 until 9/**/2014, which comes out to 10 saves a month, which is twice the number that we promised per the Contract.

While we are a different business that provides different services from what you were expecting, we want to make sure that we can provide you the fullest extent of what Signpost has to offer. We have called you and offered to upgrade you to our new product free of charge, but as you stated on the phone, that was something that you were not interested in. Per the Terms of our Contract, Signpost still has not received the Early Cancellation Fee as agreed upon. Please call us today so that we can upgrade your account to our new product, free of charge as previously mentioned.

Best,

[Your Answer Here]

He whomever is answering for signpost called and said they would waive the cancellation fee regardless of the outcome. . Now they say they haven't received the early cancellation fee. I don't understand. Are they waiving the fee or not. I have not made or received not one call or gained one customer by the use of their services. I just want out of this contract.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

I'm sorry to hear that you are still having issues. I had such a great conversation with you on November *, 2014 around 10am Central Time. You and I were brainstorming on how our new product would work for your business and you were excited about it as were we at Signpost! We even offered you free months of service under this new platform. You agreed to pay a very reduced cancellation fee upfront (copy of emails included in this Revdex.com response). You asked for an email telling you what we need from you and that you are available in the mornings during certain times to get you set up with the new product.

Unfortunately, the very next day on November *, 2014, you emailed Signpost stating that you just wanted to cut your losses and did not want to be yelled at. I was surprised at this email because just the previous day, you decided that you wanted to continue with Signpost. The only person that you had spoken to in our company was myself, and there certainly was no "yelling". I called you to try to resolve this issue with you and see why you changed your mind so soon. This was the last time that I called you (November *, 2014 in the morning) and I left you a voice message. I then followed up with an email later that morning offering to reduce the cancellation fee again and how I could apply that to service moving forward should you choose to change your mind in the future (in which we still hope you will).

On Friday night (November 7, 2014), you emailed Signpost asking for an address on where you can send the money to and for Signpost not to bother you. I have responded to that email and have not called you per your request (email also attached hereto).

Again, I understand that you would like to just be done with this issue, and if at this point, you do not want to continue with our new product, that is perfectly okay. As you can see from my emails that we have not pursued that issue further since your initial request on November 7, 2014. As always, if you would like to resolve this directly, you have my direct phone number. Please let me know how I can be of any assistance.

Sincerely,

Review: I got a call from a sales person from Sign Post name [redacted]. She was very aggressive in trying to sell me their services to promote our business via [redacted] and other [redacted] type website. I told her I did not believe what they were offering is the right solution for our business as I've done daily deals in the past. She assured me this was different. Day in and day out she would call until finally reducing the price of their service and also reducing the subscription time frame from 6 months to 3 months. She also transfer me to her manager who also talked a good game and over promised how they were going to promote us and how we were going to generate many sales month after month. After paying for the 3 months of subscription, two months go by and we had 3 customers who purchased a deal that was reduced to more than 50% off our normal pricing. Not anything close to what we paid them for the three months subscription. They simply took our money with Zero return on investment. I was angered by this and I email them to refund me but they would not. They were actually planning on charging me every three month. The service is a total joke. You don't even need them. As a business, you do not need to pay the middle man to run a daily deal or a [redacted] type deal. You can go directly to the companies and it's free. What they are doing is trying to create a platform that is flaw. It a joke and a ripoff scheme. BEWARE. Don't Waste Your Money. Pass on this. This is coming from experience.Desired Settlement: If I get a full refund, I might write something positive.

Hi [redacted],

Signpost was one of the best investments I made for my business in advertising/marketing. It is an excellent way to receive client feedback, post great reviews, and handle constructive criticism immediately. Would recommend to any small business owner that makes client feedback a priority!

Signpost is helping us keep our business name in front of our clients so they can think about doing more business with us, and make sure that they are all happy with past business and the support we have delivered. I could not push out the scale of touches on my own without their automation tools.

Thanks Signpost!

And thank you Colin for helping us understand the elements, purpose and value!!

Review: Signpost guarantees at least 5 new customers in the list on their back office. A possible supplier is not a customer, but instead a vendor. The only new contacts in the back office include vendors. However to cancel the agreement the contract states that 50 percent of the revenue they would get is now charged upfront for their "services". I see no services rendered by this company. They take the contacts I already had and added them to their list, then connect to pages I already set up. After that they list graphs depicting how well they are helping by showing how many new people contact us, regardless of the fact that these people contact us due to my work not theirs. I tried once in writing to cancel the services which they did not honor and then proceeded to talk over me to tell me how great their e-mail marketing is. On that note I have seen them contact numerous people via e-mail to which not a single person has even mentioned that e-mail after walking in my doors even though it lists a 15% off coupon in the e-mail. Even though they offer credit services I declined it and that does not drop the price of their "services" even though their whole marketing scheme is based around having my customer list by providing me credit services. When I ask what they do for me I once again get told about the e-mail marketing and how great that is. I told them I have no use for them since they don't even list us in other places like yellow pages and the like. To which I was told they work closely with [redacted] and will start that for me. Surprise, surprise, no such thing was done and no cancellation was performed as per my written request.Desired Settlement: Cancellation without a cancellation fee since no real service has been provided and I am not happy with the fact that your guarantee was not fulfilled pursuant to my qualifications, a customer is someone that purchases from my company, not someone that tries to sell to my company.

Dear [redacted],Thank you for addressing your concerns regarding Signpost and your account with us. We are dedicated to providing quality customer service and value for all of our customers and we appreciate the feedback. I am very sorry about your experience with our Customer Care representative. It is our goal to provide the best possible customer experience to our customers. We take your feedback very seriously and are striving to improve our merchants’ outlook on Signpost. I have attached a copy of the 12 Month Contract that you signed on October **, 2014 for your records. Here, you can see where it explains Signpost’s Guarantee: “Signpost guarantees a minimum of 5 new customer contacts will be collected each month, not including the first month as we focus on updating and syncing your information.” While we understand some of these contacts may be past/existing customers, we do our best to identify the new customers based on your activity history from the past 365 days. Signpost relies on you as the business owner to inform us whether or not these customers are existing customers or new customers. The focus of this platform is to maintain your customer relationships and improve efficiency with regards to remarketing to your current client base and making them more valuable to your business. To date, Signpost has sent 433 emails on your behalf to your customer contact list since October 2014. In the last 30 days, you have had 137 Customer Actions in the last 30 days. I also noticed that you have not opted into our SMS Text Messaging feature. We can reach a bigger audience via SMS text messaging. Please email in to your account manager and we can activate that for you; or you can do it yourself on your Merchant Center Dashboard. While we do offer a payment processor piece, it’s not for everyone. This is an added benefit of our services and Signpost does not charge anything extra for this. I do see where there was a delay with setting up your directory piece of the product, and for this, I can offer you a discount to accommodate for that delay. We would love to continue to work with you to resolve your issues and point out the benefits from the services that you’ve received to-date and continue to work with your business. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at ###-###-####.Best, [redacted]

Review: My business signed up for the $500, 3-month plan that was supposed to bring in numerous customers to my businesses' doors. The plan sets up a very nice looking dashboard where you can see all of the activity related to your business, including the people who have 'saved' your deal. Instead of getting names of people who saved your deal, you get email addresses of potential customers.

At first, this all seemed legit but some quick research revealed that many of the people saving our deal weren't even in the same state as my business, making it a near impossibility that whoever they are, they would never actually take the next steps to buy the deal.

Attempts to contact Signpost about the validity of these emails was met with half-hearted efforts to help me through a situation that would never get rectified. I retreated after my initial conversations with the Signpost customer service team thinking that it might take a little more time for people to contact me about my deal and that I needed to work harder to get people to sign up for my deal. But after several more weeks of hearing nothing back from the people who signed up for my deal voucher, it was time to pull the plug on the service and demand a refund. Numerous emails and phone calls to try and cancel the service were not returned until I tweeted at one of the company founders. Interestingly, I got a call within an hour of that tweet and had a conversation with a very snarky customer service rep who said that Signpost was not liable for the lack of people signing up for my deal and there was no way I could get my money back. I felt mislead as the sales pitch given to me prior to signing up for the service almost guaranteed success from people who contact me with my businesses name being put on so many listing service websites. After talking with the company, seeing no results and reading other complaints about the business, it's my belief that these people were and never are going to contact me or sign up for my deal.

Upon completion of my three-month plan, 21 people had saved my deal with NONE of them contacting me. Multiple attempts to reach them by the emails listed were never returned. It begs the question - are these emails even real? It is in my opinion that this business is a complete FRAUD.

This will be the first of many steps I will take to make sure no one else has to go through the same three-month nightmare that I went through.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the $499.99 refunded to my credit card in full. I would also like to see if the emails that signed up for my deal were actually valid, legitimate emails.
