In I had a membership with Steve Nash Fitness Club at their Langley, BC, location I noticed they were charging my credit card twice every month so I went in to inquire, where I was told to contact their credit departmentI called them and they demanded copies of my credit card statements to prove the chargesI emailed the statements to them (***) and waited months for a replyThey then told me that the charges were for my husband who I had signed upThis issue was I didn't sign him up, as he never went in to sign his contract and they even confirmed an unsigned contract would not be valid I asked several times for a copy of the contract and they just ignored my request The most they would offer me was to move the money they had charged as a credit on my own account, and refund me only the months that I was charged while waiting for them to respond to my email They called me to get my credit card information for the refund, and I requested

On April 20th, I visited the Steve Nash Fitness at ***, because I had won a draw at my local pharmacy Upon my arrival, the SNF employees that I dealt with avoided the topic of explaining to me what I had won and instead I was pressured into paying $for a membership I was repeatedly told by word of mouth that the deadline to cancel the Trial Period before I would be locked into a one year membership was May 3, On May 2, I called SNF *** to cancel my membership The employee on the phone told me that I would have to come into the location in person to sign the cancellation forms, and again I was told over the phone that the last day I could cancel before being locked into a one year membership was May 3, ("tomorrow") I told her that I would come to the location that night (May 2, 2018) to sign the cancellation forms After ending the phone call and before arriving at SNF ***, I noticed the date on the contract that I had

My regular fee for membership is $**/monthIn September this company debited my account an additional unauthorized amount of $**I challenged this alleged expense because it is not in my original contractHere is the reply I got upon my challenge:
***
Here is my argument:(a) I complained about the automatic deduction on principle alone because:
aMy original contract does not specify this charge at the time of signingIn fact, the section on my original membership form for this extra charge was waived
bI cannot see evidence (at my gym location) of the investment of any significant amount for so-called additional new equipment beyond wear-and-tear replacement;
cThis $** annual per member automatic deduction nets this company (of twenty-one clubs with

Attempted to freeze account, account was never frozen, attempted to cancel account via telephone, was lied to and told that would happen despite it being something that they do not do on policyAfter trying to communicate my issue to them and resolve it not involving the Revdex.com, was met with hostility and told I would receive only the money that they owed me for failure to freeze, as their employee violating their policies was not of their concern

When I first signed up for a membership with Mark E***, I told him that I was going to be moving away from the Vancouver area at the end of February, and that I wanted my membership to reflect thatHe told me that it was no problem, and put a note in my file reflecting thisFast forward to April, and I noticed that I had been billed for a month and a half of memberships that I was not expecting, and most certainly did not useI called their customer support line to clear this up, and I was greeted by a extremely rude lady that told me that there was no file, and when I asked for a refund on membership that I had not used, that they had every right to bill me and they were not going to refund the moneyI asked for her manager, and she told me that there was no one for me to talk to*** *** I was later able to go to talk to Mark E*** about this, and handled the situation much betterHe re-put t

I was a member at the Steve Nash gym at city square until I suffered a major concussion *** and a separate injury that severed the tendons in my hand the same weekI was suffering extreme memory loss and was heavily sedated after my surgeryI do not recall much of that month, but once I become more mentally cognitive they had passed my billing to a collection agencyI was told they phoned me multiple times and instructed me how to cancelI could no longer come in, in person, *** *** ***Trying to resolve this issue now I am told if I was able to answer the phone I should be able to write an email to cancel my membership*** *** *** *** *** ***

Signed up for the Gold package several years ago which gave me access to *** Sports Club as wellWent there a few weeks ago after a long time and they told me my access does not include this clubI asked why and they said they upgraded the gym to platinum package and I would have to pay extraI was never notified about this change nor have they ever decreased my fees after taking a service away from meContacted the renewals department and had no luck in restoring my access to *** which I intended to visit more often

Gym's ventilation system is broken, but the gym refuses to fix itThe poor air circulation mixed with the humidity from the neigbhouring swiming pool makes the gym a health hazard to work out

I was a prepaid member of the Steve Nash Fitness Club ***My first contract expired ***My contract was renewed *** for a new prepaid membership whereby I was offered a month prepaid term for $plus tax with no administration fee nor annual club enhancement feeThis was verbally offered and confirmed by a signed contract However since *** I started receiving numerous e-mails, letters and phone calls from Steve Nash claiming that my account was overdue for $40.95, which later upon inquiry, I was told that it was the annual club enhancement fee Though I had times and again explained to the staff (*** of the billing department that I had paid the whole term fee upfront and there was no annual club enhancement fee stipulated on my contract, I was asked about the overdue account every time I visited the gymI was even got banned from using the gym last *** I was really frustrated

I have canceled subscription in march but I lost my copy also my contract ask for copy from them they have refused gave me a unsigned contract and copy of last date used march I asked for a signed copy of contract no answerThey have been taking payments from my account ever since.I have since cancelled it

I didn't want to commit from the beginning so I chose to pay more expensive rate and not their months or months package and was told that I can cancelled anytime under this planNow I'm trying to cancel and they say the system show I'm on contract for the whole year and can't cancel without doctor note or moving awayThe sales rep that signed me up mentioned no such thing
Lucky that sales Rep keep texting me to refer more people so I can contact himBut now he says he told me that he told me I can't cancel without doctor note or move awayI'm the type of guy that buy the phone out right and pass up the discount just so I won't be tied down to any kind of contractHave I heard anything like that I would have bailedBut now they have the contract I signed and I only have my word(and my friend) against the sales rep
Now I just check my credit card statement and their invoice
Apr - last month due+ bi weekly access = weeks
May = weeks

I signed onto the website to try the free day membershipAfter my first class, I received a phone call from *** the manager asking if I would like to sign upI said I would like to try a few more classesI received two calls from ***, trying to convince me to sigh upHe said I can try the gym for a month free, and if I gave him my *** debit/ *** number I would get the promotional rate which was expiring in daysI gave him my card info and the very next day he had debited my accountWhen I called him, he said it was a mistake and will refund itTo date , I have not received a refund, when I went to speak to him, he claimed it was refunded into my fitness world account and I can continue to use the gym for a monthI have never signed a contact with this establishment and I want my $ ** backThey did take another $out of my account two weeks later and I did get that refundedI did request a copy of the phone call, so that I can prove what *** said to me, as he is lyin

With true disappointment and rough feelings towards the organization that I have supported for years it is now time to move on
Steve Nash fitness world has rejected my business after years of being a loyal customerThe organization first tried to sell me on membership at branch level and were not successful as I felt pressured by their representatives one after anotherShortly after that experience and closer to when my agreement was expiring the re-newal staff wrote me an email informing me about signing up and also noted to reach out incase I a question (see email below dated February 27th on the reply)
I wrote an email and yet have not recieved a feed back
March 10th I made my third attempt and wrote an email to the upper managment and yet have not heard back from them either
these actions and ignorance towards clients will result in loss of client base and creates a bad reputation for the brand

I was a Steve Nash member for two yearsThe reason I'm submitting this complaint is because of the extremely alarming situation that has unfolded in the last monthsI hope you can address my complaint and deal with this issue as soon as possible
My 2-year membership was set to expire on December 27th, The two locations I most frequently visited were *** and the two *** locationsA few days before my birthday (which is on November 20th) I visited the *** location and asked to speak with the manager regarding cancellation of my membershipThe stipulation in the contract that I signed stated that had to give a month notice before the expiration of the 2-year membership in order to not continue to be billed on month-to-month basis following the original contract expiryI spoke with a manager and notified him that I will not be continuing on with my membership on month-to-month basis, and that I would like to have my membership be cancelled upon the expiry

I have been receiving phone calls from Steve Nash head office regarding another personThey have been advised several times that I am NOT person in question but they decided to continue harassing me over the phone on daily basisI found out that they have searched their client database and cross referenced same family nameAfter that they pulled my record instead record of the person in question and decided to call me on daily basisI have pointed out that they are talking to the wrong person and trued to bing up the issue with the management to no avail

I signed up with fitness world for a month membership in the fall of At the time of sign up, they were conducting a promotional event for their new club openingAs part of this promotion the sign up fee was waived and I was advised that I would have absolutely no dues to pay until my prepaid months were upFurthermore, I was to receive a blender bottle and workout towelNow, shortly into my membership I was hurt at work and was on WCBI was unable to use the gym due to my injuryI contacted fitness world and they informed me to gather some documentation from a medical professional and submit it once I saw some improvementThey informed me that an extension would be made on my membership as I had prepaid my duesOnce I was able to start seeing a physiotherapist and various other medical professionals for my issues, I submitted this documentation as instructedHowever, upon doing so I was then informed that medical freezes were not able to be back datedI asked to see t

I cancelled my account last *** via phoneWas told by staff at the location I went to that everything was fine, and that my account would run out and then be cancelled
I received a collections call yesterday by someone who wouldn't tell me how much it was for, what the charge was, anythingI contacted *** at the *** (he sold me my membership) and he said I needed to physically go into the location to cancel
I can't get hold of anyone who will tell me anythingI just don't want a bad mark on my credit because this company is trying to steal from me
